Ocean El Faro: Nice resort, very basic food

Resort is nice, service is good but the food is very sub par. Not what we expected in a 5 star! Room was nice and clean and the pools are great. Staff and service is good, not a bad value over all for the money,

Ocean El Faro: Great potential

The hotel is beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have a variety of food selections and the buffet is great. Unfortunately the rooms that myself and friends were staying in appeared to have missed a few parts. One room had caulking in the sink that looked unprofessional. My room had a missing door handle to the shower. Housekeeping didn’t change my sheets all week, although it was requested. Room service is a 30-75 minute wait depending on when you order. When we arrived the [... read more] employee who shuttled is to our rooms stated he would pick us up for breakfast in the morning. We thought this was the hotel treating us as it was our friends birthday (which we mentioned during check in). Only to realize when we were picked up that it was a timeshare presentation where they wanted us to sit down for 1-2 hours listening to them tell us why we should book directly though them opposed to through travel agencies. Needless to say, we were not pleased as this was not what we came to the resort to do. Also when you are on the beach, expect to be bothered by several people trying to sell products to you. The lazy river had an ongoing current but isn’t as relaxing as expected, there is water pouring down every 5-10 minutes from a waterfall or bucket throughout the course. Also be sure to check the daily newsletter so you can be informed on what restaurants are opened and which are closed. They do not deliver the paper to you or have it throughout the resort for you to see, so sometimes you will have plans to go to a restaurant only for it to be closed.

Riu Republica: Fantastic Resort!

The Riu República was a fantastic Resort! The whole team put a lot of work into making it the best possible stay and brought a lot of energy to the events! Also the gardens were trimmed and kept in fantastic shape!

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Beautiful Resort! Food needs some seasoning!

This resort is beautiful. It was our second time staying here, and we'll probably be back again! This hotel is great, the grounds are beautiful, but some rooms need updating. Everyone that works at the hotel is super helpful and friendly. There was an issue finding our reservation when we arrived, which could have easily been a disaster, but the staff was very good about sending us to eat while they sorted it out. We had to wait about 1.5 hours after we arrived but all was good and we did [... read more] get the room we had booked. We stay in the Privileged Exclusive Suite with a Swimming Pool. The pool is amazing. These rooms haven't been updated in a while. The furniture in the living area of the room is not comfortable, but honestly, we never sit in there. Why would you sit inside when you could be out at the pool? We never did figure out how to work our jacuzzi. There are no instructions and the keypad control doesn't make logical sense. The shower and other things in the room were fine and in great shape. The beach was a bit weedy when we were there, but they had just had a big storm the night before. Staff was working furiously to get it cleaned up and by the time we left it looked great! The food at the resort is touch and go. Room service is always fast and hot. We had breakfast several times on the patio, and it was always great. The buffets are always a hit. So many choices and all very good. The formal dining restaurants get a little tired after a week, but I think that is only because it was our second time there, so we already knew what we liked and what we didn't like. One addition that was new was the coffee shop (which was great!) It's a little far from the adults-only side of the resort, and they don't have any "to-go" type of cups so you had to drink it there. If you are going, I suggest taking a reusable cup so that you could enjoy your iced coffee, etc back at your room!

Riu Republica: Resort is big and beautiful

We had a very nice tim here !! For the food was full and lots to eat for all , every meal was done so very nice , the ala-carts being open to when you wanted to go with out booking , was a big help too. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing time

Everything that I had hoped for in a vacation. We had a swim out room Harom was our concierge he was so great. The resort is beautiful and everything is so well maintained. Will go back again as some as we can .

Excellence Punta Cana: Excellents Punta Cana

Just returned from our 12th trip to all inclusive Excellents.Punta Cana. The service and quality of food and accommodations is still A1. We did notice a smaller number of guests this year. Staff said it was possibly due to the trouble that one resort had earlier in the year. Since we have visited many times the staff remembered us and went out of their to make our stay all that more enjoyable, spoke to a number of first time guest and they all said they would revisit. We will visit again next ye [... read more]ar, but wii increase our stay from 10 days to 2 weeks. If you are looking for a great holiday, give this resort a try, you won’t be sorry.

Paradisus Punta Cana: November 2019 in Punta Cana

Although we had a fantastic time at this hotel, there are a few things that need improving. Check in: Gorgeous lobby as we stepped up to the check-in counter we thought to ourselves how great, no line-up. However it took at least 1/2 hour until someone finally got us checked in - not acceptable! Finally shuttled to our room and luggage set inside. Room looked nice and clean however we had an issue with the bathtub draining - this was resolved quickly. So they really need to upgrade some oft the rooms. Our concierge was very friendly, along with almost all of the staff. we truly enjoyed the buffet along with nightly entertainment. The Hibachi and Mexican also very good however the food from the Italian and steakhouse, not good! We stuck with the buffet for the rest of the trip. When mentioned we were celebration our anniversary, it was emntioned a surprise in our room the day of, well the surprise was on us, nothing! Not that we expected anything however it would have been a nice add-on. Will definitely visit the Dominican again, however not this hotel!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Great resort!

Resort was very clean. Awesome beach and beautiful water to swim in. Lots of choices for restaurants and all are very good. Entertainment in the Esmeralda was a little weak but to be fair we didn’t go to the other areas where entertainment was available. I will definitely go again to the Esmeralda.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Awesome again

This place has amazed us again. We have been twice now and are planning to return next year. The grounds are well maintained, the beach is fantastic, the food is delicious and the service can't be beat. We have already asked others to join us. Looking forward to seeing our new friends again. We plan to meet there again soon.

Ocean El Faro: New resort

Dining was great except they shut down the buffett one night. Rooms were kept clean. Service people were friendly and awesome! Bad bits- not enough garbage receptacles and NO outside washrooms for pool users to go to, so guess where they went.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Caribe Club Princess - True to Reviews

Hubby and I stayed at the Caribe Club Princess for 14 days in October, 2019. The resort was exactly as described in the reviews. It was very clean, the rooms were huge, the staff very friendly. No language barrier at the front desk and throughout the resort. Grounds worked on everyday. Animation team excellent. Would definitely return.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

Everything is absolutely beautiful the pool the beach really well maintained the hotel is really nice clean the view from hotel balcony is absolutely breathtaking The dining is awesome beautifully set tables

Excellence El Carmen: Another fantastic time

This was our second visit to the resort in a year. Loved it even more this time. The staff are great - everyone has a smile on their face. The entertainment crew is fantastic and always full of energy. The rooms are spacious and cleaned twice daily. The resort is spotless with beutiful grounds. We never had to wait for a drink or to be seated in any restaurant. There is a great selection of meals at every restaurant. Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

From the moment we arrived until the time we left the Majestic Colonial everything was perfect. We were able to book and enjoy a swim up room with all Club amenities. This was our second time to this resort and will not be our last. We met many visitors, especially Canadians, who have been there many times. Some more than ten times. The food was very good and well presented. Every night there was a theme for the dining at the buffet. The beach dinner was a nice touch. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Quality and Service at its best

My wife and I were at the Ambar from Oct 27/19 thru Nov 3/19.We booked a swim out room that was ultra modern and cleaned every day.We ate in five different a la carte restaurants and all were very good.The pool and the beach are amazing with lots of loungers every day.The service at this hotel was some of the best we have received and we travel twice a year.We were at the Ambar 4 years ago and the people working here are the best.If you are looking for a adults only with impeccable service then  [... read more]I would highly recommend the Ambar. Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: A very nice resort with some communication kinks.

Enjoyed the resort overall. Most of the service was very good. Hotel grounds, bars and Dorado restaurant were great. Loved the Hideaway section lounge. Experienced some issues at check-in, spa appointments and overall communication. Took 5 requests to have a bathroom light and balcony door fixed ! The resort is not a "real" adults only. Children have access to all areas except one restaurant and one bar. Adult only section too in proximity to the non adult area. Loud hallways as an echo c [... read more]an be heard. Shocking amount of garbage outside the resort as driving into and out of the hotel. Diamond Club upgrade NOT worth it !

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful Resort 🌞🌞🌞

This was our 6th visit to this resort. The renovations are spectacular. The grounds are always kept prestine. Food is fabulous. We were there for our anniversary and our butler concierge had our room decorated and a lovely cake set out for us. Thanx again for a wonderful stay. See you again soon 🌞☀🌞☀🌞❤

The resort was absolutely wonderful! The food and the beach and the swim up room made for a relaxing and fun getaway! The resort staff were friendly and helpful. An email to the resort ahead of time was a great idea as all of our a la carted were booked in advance. Highly recommend!

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Royalton Hideaway - Punta Cana Dominican Rebublic

The Royalton Hideaway in Punta Cana is definitely NOT a luxurious resort and you should not expect it to be. The services and substandard. Arriving at he hotel was disappointing from the moment we arrived. We were told to follow this person who did not explain where and how far the check-in was from the lobby of the hotel. One of the reception person at the hideaway check-in took our passports to another room and I was livid. Our passports should never be out of our sights. NO one spoke enou [... read more]gh English to understand what we asked and looked perplexed and confused 99% of the time. No orientation was given as to the amenities available to the hideaway guests or services available. I complained the next day at the front lobby and asked to speak to the manager of the hotel. No one contacted me. A person came to our room saying we will meet withe the manager at 9:00 am the next day and then have a breakfast at the VIP lounge. So we went the next day only to find out that he wanted to sell us a timeshare. We then became extremely upset and annoyed and spoke to someone who was supposed to be a manager of some sort. He said that he is going to call us but nothing. I then wrote a detailed email to the manage and director and got a response the same day. met with them the next day and they agreed that we were not given the services as expected and offered us free massages. The grounds were extremely nice but the rooms were not. The bathrooms are small and the sink does not flow well, the toilet plugs easily. The bathroom floods easily if you do not aim the shower towards the wall. I would not recommend this resort if you are looking for a luxurious or upscale vacation. I would compare it to your average resort 3.5* to maybe a 4* but nothing more. Safeena
