Starfish Cayo Largo: The best beach in Cayo Largo

The best place to go to Cuba in Desember-February is Cayo Largo. We've been there three times and go again. Two times stayed in Pelicano Hotel and never sorry of that. Food is not so picky, but prepared well. Rooms and common arias clean. Staff helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately evenings intertaiment shows getting more and more Western stile. It was more attractive to watch shows based on local Cubans culture with elements of classical ballets.

Club Karey: Love Club Karey!!!

Been to this resort 3 times now and we absolutely love this place the staff are a true pleasure to be around, they truly make it feel welcoming, a home away from home. It only gets better every time we go, we plan on returning again in the near future.

Club Karey: Outstanding!!!

I have no complaints at Club Karey as this was our third time going and it just gets better and better every time we go. The staff are amazing!!! You couldn't ask for more, beautiful views, great rooms, and some of the nicest people you can meet. A true diamond in the rough.

Club Kawama: Basic but friendly

I stayed at Club Kawama for a week this January and for the most part really enjoyed it. The pluses: a beautiful pool area, gorgeous beach, friendly staff, great location - easy access to Varadero town.The negatives: table cloths at the main restaurant often dirty, food basic and often overcooked, although plentiful. No outside telephone lines, bedroom floors not always swept, always noisy - music playing all the time, not my thing. Overall, pretty much what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel in Cuba.

Starfish Cayo Largo: Amazing resort

We loved it , very good food , friendly people, beautiful beach . The rooms need some upgrades but they were very clean , great shows at night . Place for great relaxation, definitely would recommend and I would visit again.

Roc Barlovento: Great safe fun.

We traveled in a group of 3 with 2 rooms. Jan 4th 18th. Great location beautiful beach. Check in was great, thank you Dalia Vega Martinez you are the best. We had a ground floor room, everything worked and we had hot water at all times. our maid Noelia did a great job and was fun to talk with daily. The lobby bar was clean and a fun place to go with friendly staff .The entertainment crew are alot of fun and make everyone feel special, thanks Mario and crew. The buffet had a great selection and r [... read more]efreshed often. Bread is so GOOD. Service is very good all over this resort . Thanks Sergio, Padero, Yailine. This is not a new hotel but well kept and very clean. The manager is very nice and will talk to you about any concerns. Looking forward to going again.

Roc Barlovento: Not for me !

The grounds and the pool areas are very nice. The staff needs brooms desperately. They are the size of a mega toothbrush and the area is very large to sweep. Smoking is allowed in the main lobbey and everwhere except buffet and ala carte. And the Canadians took full advantage of this freedom. No respect given to staff or others at the Lobbey. I did complain. Staff told me they are sick from the smoke but they have no say. They have a tiny no smoking area beside the bar. Its a joke as the entir [... read more]e area stinks of smoke. Most resorts have banned smoking inside but not here. My room on the main floor had tiny mosquetos and got many bites. Try to find the doctor here was a search mission. I had to get a staff to take me. Dr. office is located at a storage area. Looks like a ghetto. Never went in.

Club Kawama: We love Club Kawama

Hotel was great. Loved the fact that our room was in a bungalow. Fun to walk through the resort. Food was great. Pool beautiful and beach sublime! Staff were friendly. Not fancy but comfortable and homey. would take my family there again.

Club Karey: Very relaxing

To start with, we wanted somewhere calm and relaxing and that exackly what we got. Aldo the hotel really got damage by IRMA, the renos are well on the way. And if you think of 2 stars well you really get your money worth., We when to Cuba betore and never was the food so good and deversed, they had every thing to fill are bellies. Club Kawama: great resort with friendly people

We had a great time. The resort is very old and could use updating. The food was good but the mixed drinks weren't very good as they kept running out of ice. Coffee bar was very good. The people working at this resort are very friendly and tried to do everything to keep you happy. We will definitely go back to this resort.

Starfish Cayo Largo: WOW what a Beach

It's one of the most beautiful beaches I seen, over 20 KMs of glorious white sand. The Hotel was clean but a bit dated, the staff when out of their way to make everyone feel at home. Could always find something to eat on the buffets. Had a minor concerns about towel exchanges & beach chairs but that aside would go back just for the beach.

Starfish Cayo Largo: One of the best resorts in Cayo Largo

We stayed at Hotel Pelicano in Cayo Largo. Friendly staff, beautiful beach, very clean, food was quite good. it needs a little external paint and TLC, but quite an enjoyable stay. This was our first visit to Cuba so i don’t have anything to compare it to, but when visiting other resorts in the area, ours by far was the best bang for your buck.

We had a wonderful time at this resort, staff is executional, food was great, beds are comfortable and all and all awesome resort with a beautiful beach. Loved this place thinking of going back in March.

Club Kawama: Run Down Resort

The beach was beautiful, the pool was beautiful, most of the service was good but some of the front desk staff were nasty and rude. A couple of front desk staff were so condescending and made it very hard to ask any questions. The service at the front desk needs to be better. The hotel is completely run down as are the grounds. The food was pretty bad in the main restaurant. Some days it was okay othe. Tgre was very little variety. It was the same most days. The Italian restaurant was pretty good. I would not stay at this Resort again. The rooms were old and dilapidated. Our bathtub would fill with water and wouldn't drain. There were times when the toilet wouldn't flush. There was peeling paint on the ceilings and water damage in lots of the areas. Furniture is old and falling apart. Very uncomfortable beds. Really needs a facelift.

Roc Barlovento: Great Resort

This is our 3rd time there. We enjoy the size and also the location of this resort. Easy walking distance to flee markets and the beach is close and well kept. The gardens are well maintained and so are the pools. The staff in all areas are very courteous and most helpful. Our maid was very good seeing to whatever needs we required. I would certainly stay here again just for the homey feeling of the resort👍

Club Kawama: Christmas in Paradise

Christmas in Varadero....awesome!!! Just returned after 2 weeks at Club Kawama, we had an amazing vacation and look forward to our return trip in February!. This is a very old and quaint hotel, come with an open mind and enjoy the sunshine and hospitality of the Cuban people. Yes the rooms need work, yes the food is a little repetitive...enjoy the sun and the people..... While we were there we noticed many improvements...new mattresses, buildings painted, new umbrellas and chairs on the beach, and the food was great( remember this is Cuba). Too many people come to Cuba expecting 5 star expectations and often compare to Canadian Standards....we must not do that....not the same.....it is Cuba remember. It is wonderful to return and have staff remember you from the year before....Cuban people are awesome..... Christmas Eve supper was amazing....turkey, seafood, potatoes, fresh veg and fruits....desserts to die for....oh and of course that wonderful home made ice cream....if any one complains about this meal, there is no hope for them.....there was an over abundance of food for everyone. Cuba beach......what can l say..... Any way, enjoyed our trip and will be back again and again.....

Roc Barlovento: Great safe fun.

Our stay was from Dec 19th till 26th . This hotel is not new but it is very clean. Our room was nice and the maid was very good. We stayed in room 181. Everything in the room worked . The beach is right there. The food was hot fresh and lot's of variety. They have a beach grill, very good. This is right in the heart of Varadero, walk anyplace. The public bus is right out the front door. The staff are very helpful..From the front lobby to the beach the staff were all nice. The Christmas dinner was 5 star, the selection, presentation, and service was perfect.

Club Kawama: very poor

very poor in upkeep of grounds and room. No light in the ceiling of room. very dark. No outdoor light. very dark along pathway to restaurant. One morning as my son was standing in front of mirror it came crashing down off the wall. We were asked to pay $140.00 more for the unit we thought was booked by trip central. There was a bulldozer on the beach for three days. At times coming very close to us. Noisy, and fumes. The staff on front desk were not very accommodating. Palma Real: Party place

This ressort is in the heart of varadero. .is the best place call 62 and havana club and the beattle club juste min by walking. .good food and thé renovated thé room but thé elavator was not working .but everything was Nice.. they have a pool bar. .its my 6 times over and still going...

Club Kawama: Friendly resort

Grounds were well kept although there were hiccups with our room we were finally moved due to a paperwork mistake on hotel part to a beautiful suite for one night. Quiet resort whole some of it is older and still under construction the staff and tourists were amazing
