Sandals Grande Antigua: Sandal's Resort Grande Antigua
November 16, 2014 Returned. My wife and I just got back from this beautiful resort! The resort reflected in reality exactly as the pictures depicted it! I can't say enough about the resort staff: EVERYONE..and I mean EVERYONE..couldn't do enough for you! The staff are the best of the best!! The food also was barr-none! The care they took in cleaning your room..turning down your bed every night and checking on your personal fridge in your room was so on cue...and welcomed! Nightly entertainment w[... read more]as great and sometimes occurring at different areas of the resort for the different tastes..awesome. We would definitely return to this resort. A special thanks to Julianna in Guest services for assisting us when we received a troubling phone call from home...she made the news easier to deal with. Thanks Julianna!!

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Amazing trip for first time or carefree travelling
Beautiful resort. Staff was amazing and friendly. Very simple travel experience, where all inclusive was truly all inclusive. We did pay for one excursion outside of the resort, JJ's Speedboat Tour, which was worth every penny!

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Gorgeous resort
I was pleasantly surprised by this resort as we had never visited a Sandals property. We arrived in the evening so at first glance, we felt that the resort was a bit outdated as the photos show a much nicer/newer property (photoshop?) but when the sun came out, it was absolutely beautiful. The food was superb. The service was excellent. The staff weren't as friendly as in other resorts but I wonder if it's because in other resorts they expect to be tipped. Not the case here. If you're looking fo[... read more]r a relaxing vacation with beautiful grounds and delicious food, this is the spot for you. I would definitely visit another Sandals resort on another island.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Very nice resort!
This was our second trip to this resort and we were there the week of October 23rd.The grounds are beautiful and very tropical. Compared to last year my biggest issue was the negative attitude that a number of staff exhibited. Also the lack of in room alcoholic beverages was disappointing, this is only provided to club or butler guests. The charge for wifi was also unimpressive given the cost of a Sandals vacation. We did not receive our returning member gifts..I then visited the Soon come back [... read more]office on our last day and only then did they offer a couple of t-shirts. I did not appreciate the fact that more than half of the main pool chairs were reserved by the butlers very early in the morning. This created a competition amongst the other non-butler guests to wake up early (6:30am) and reserve their own chairs, typically the remaining chairs were all taken by 8:00am...not exactly a relaxing start to your day.
This time around we brought 12 new Sandals guests with us, which I mentioned to the front desk and unfortunately it was never acknowledged. It would have been nice to have received a dinner reservation that could have accomodated all of us.
We had a great time because our group of friends were terrific, the weather was really nice and the food was very good.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Disappointed Bride
My husband and I chose Sandals Royal Bahamian as our resort of choice when we decided to get married on the beach. It was our understanding that Sandals resorts are 5 Star with amazing service and luxurious hotels; and for the amount that you pay to stay here our expectations were high.
Upon arrival to Sandals Royal Bahamian we were extremely disappointed. The information that is advertised on their websites and marketing material s is very different from what you actually experience.
We upgrade[... read more]d and paid extra in order to have the room we selected which was an ocean front view with a private balcony and a fully stocked bar in the room. We were also told that millions of dollars recently went into renovating this part of the resort and they boasted that there was mahogany furniture with marble counter tops etc. What we received was a room you could get at any basic Holiday Inn, we were put in a corner room and did not receive the private balcony we had paid extra for. And to top it all off we looked in the bathroom there was black mold going down the wall.
At that point we spoke with management who assured us she would move us to a private balcony room and that we needed to pack our bags and have them ready for 11:00 AM the next morning and to meet her at 1:30 PM to pick up our new room keys. So, the next day we cut our day short to do so. At 1:30 we arrived at the front desk and the manager had done nothing, there was no room move for us at all, even after we spoke with management again we learned she had done absolutely nothing to resolve our concerns. Obviously extremely annoyed that we were lied to and that we wasted our time, we spoke to another manager. We were promised once again that we would be moved to the room we had originally requested. So we went through the whole process over again. We didn’t end up in our new room until 3:00 PM. We get in and they had just moved us to the corner on the other side of the building, with no private balcony and now we had a view of the air conditioning units on the condos next door. At this point I would have rather had the first room; at least I could see the resort, not dirty rooftops! So I rushed downstairs to move back to the old room and they had already given it away.
Sick of spending more time speaking to management than enjoying my vacation, we just sucked it up. However, this new room was not cleaned properly or restocked from the last visitors, including the bar which was not replenished (or mini bar for that matter) which we had paid extra for. I requested it via phone call, visit to the front desk and by leaving notes in the room, and it never happened. If we ever needed anything the employees would tell us they would do it and then it would never happen. I also asked that our dinner reservations be switched to our new room number and was told this was done, however every restaurant we went to our reservations were not on the list. I was even yelled at by one hostess who was annoyed that I tried to get into a restaurant without reservations….although I actually did, and had the confirmation paper.
It was very disappointing for us that we were completely forgotten about and stuck sub-par rooms in the corners. When we would mention that we had come here to get married, they did not care since there were so many other people there getting married or on their honeymoon. Therefore they were not interested in treating you with any special care whatsoever.
The wedding:
- We had a wedding planner that we dealt with over the phone who was different from the planner we met on site. The planner on the phone told me that I would have someone there that would help me with anything I needed with my wedding for the whole day. I said we were getting married just the two of us so I would need help tying up my dress and she said I would have someone there to do that for me. She also told me that we would receive a dinner at a specialty restaurant (Gordons on the Pier) the night of our wedding.
- When speaking with the onsite planner (who was very nice and just doing her job) had to tell me that if I wanted my dress tied up I had to pay an additional $75.00. And that they do not offer dinners at Gordons unless you pay an additional $140. We were also disappointed to find out that if we wanted our wedding on the dock beside the beach we would have to pay an additional $350.
- The nickel and diming was getting ridiculous. At this point I was so disappointed and frustrated with everything that I was in tears…..this is not how you should feel on your wedding at all!
Around every corner there was another thing that disappointed me. Sometimes just small things like going to billiard room to find there are only three pool cues, 2 of which were broken, and holes in the walls around the resort that were patched up with paint that doesn’t match the walls. There were times where I was the only person waiting at the bar and it would take 15 minutes to get a drink because the staff was too busy having a good time together. There was actually a moment where a guest got behind the bar and started serving because there wasn’t a staff member in site for well over an hour at the swim up bar! There were also events that were planned that we could take part in and I would show up for them and the playmakers would be nowhere in sight, so I gave up on those.
I just feel that Sandals makes a lot of promises and didn’t follow through with any of them. Bahamas was beautiful and we will go back, but I won’t be spending $7,000 at the Royal Bahamian again. I don’t know if this is how all Sandals resorts operate, but as of right now I have a bad taste in my mouth.
My family is planning an anniversary trip for my parents and it was going to be at a Sandals Resort and I have since told them to hold off and do some more research first.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Worth the $$
Grounds, room, and public spaces were all impecable. Food and beverage well above average. Service was amazing 95% of the time .
From the time you are wisked into the private Sandals lounge at arrival until your departure, you are pampered !!
If you suffer from motion sickness take gravel before the 1 - 1.5 hour ride to the resort from the hotel - the road is windy but the driver does check in often with everyone to ensure everyone is ok. I suffer terribly from motion sickness but I asked to sit[... read more] up front right by the driver and was fine
The variety and quality of food and wine was fabulous (my hubby is an amateur chef and was impressed) Be sure to make your reservations for Komono's and La Toc as soon as you get there - we did and got the days and times we wanted for both. Also, not to be missed is the Pitons restaurant. Also found the Tapas at the Pavillion to be great. Armando's for breaskfast is not worth the walk up the hill as the buffet has lots of variety and Chevron will cook you an egg any way you like it!
Special thanks to Alice, Moise, Andrew, Renya(?) and John (to name just a few) for all the great serivce. Because the service is so great in general you really notice those employees who are not having a good day or who perhaps need some refresher training.
If you take a minute to be polite and show genuine interest in the staff you quickly realize how warm and opened they are. We had lots of great conversations and learned lots about the culture in St Lucia
Sandals allows you to go to the other resorts (convenient shuttle provided) and it is worth checking them out - confirmed to us that La Toc was the right place for us.
We sampled food at the other resorts and it was equal to La Toc.
Spa experience was great - both of my serivce providers were every bit as good as those I enjoy here in Toronto. The front desk could be a little more organized.
Going off resort is safe and the scenery is worth the effort. We did not take an organized tour but rather hired a taxi and made our own agenda for the day (volcano mud bath, mineral water fall, bananna plantation, rum distillery, Casteries market, local lunch in Soufrier as arranged by our driver). We really enjoyed the day.
La Toc is a big resort and worth exploring all the areas. There are actually 3 pools and we enjoyed the quieter one at the top of the hill near the newer rooms.
The beach is great and water is warm - we never had trouble finding seats on the beach and spent lots of time playing in the waves.
A couple of suggestions:
1) Sandals should consider banning the "saving" of pool charis with towels - most of the time no one is using the chair and those who would like to sit for a while have to really search for a spot - if you are more than 2 people it is almost impossible
2) In keeping with being environmental, Sandals may consider converting the golf carts and shuttles to electric motors - this would eliminate the heavy gas smell that sometimes wafted through the main lobby
3) It would be nice to have the option of staying in the "butler suite" but not have the service of the butler. I am not confortable with the butler idea but would love to have the option of choosing one of the super luxury rooms for my stay.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definatley return
We had never been to a Sandals before and were skeptical about spending the extra money but in the end we were pleased we did.

Sandals Grande Antigua: Great place to visit and relax
The staff were all very friendly. The pool bar tender remembered us from 18 months earlier, The gift shop girl came over to talk to us on her way to work, the management was visible and accessible and the gardeners spoke to us as we passed. My wife in a wheelchair got extra attention an even the OK Corral made special arrangements for us to enjoy their menu as we couldn't get up the stairs.
We enjoyed it so much we booked to go back to Sandals in April 2015.

This resort is very spread out with most of the restuarants and shops in one end of the resort. If anyone has a problem getting around, it would be trouble. The food was great (all Sandal's resorts have good food), the room was good and the ocean view great. The staff we very good. We enjoyed our visit to Whitehouse and will be returning for Xmas 2014.

Sandals South Coast: Absolutely wonderful!
This was our first trip to a Sandals resort and it definitely did not disappoint. The staff was amazing, couldn't ask for friendlier, more accommodating people. The food was unbelievable, so delicious, better than anywhere we travel. The one small drawback was the beach, it was not good for swimming, rocks and seaweed, etc. However, everything else made up for it. Fire pits and Cafe that was open long hours were a real hit with us. We would recommend this resort to anyone.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Disappointed
Hotel is beautiful but the housekeeping is terrible. Had to ask every day for towels and toiletries. Shampoo and conditioner must be expensive on that island because it is hard to get the staff to provide these basic items. They make your bed and for some unknown reason do not replace towels and as I said toiletries. On some days - even after asking the items never came. Food was the best at Baccarat restaurant but to get a reservation was next to impossible. The good was good at the other place[... read more]s but not what we expected. The pool had 10 floating mats and it was a joke how guests had to hoard it once you got one. It was like winning the lottery if you actually got one. The upkeep of removing dirty glasses and plates was not consistent. Very expensive but not so sure I would drop that kind of money again to go back.

Sandals Caribbean Cay: Amazing Amazing Resort
I spent 7 days at Sandals Royal Caribbean and it wasn't enough time to explore the other Sandal resorts in Mo Bay, and take part in all the water activities they have included. I would advise you to take 10 days if possible.
The beach is small but the water is clear, and never over crowded. The resort has three different beaches all private and beautiful.
The food is amazing. There is no limit to attend any of the restaurants. I enjoyed the service at the restaurants. Sandals has a no tipping po[... read more]licy and it was nice getting excellent service without the wait staff expecting a tip.
All the staff are friendly and they really try to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The entertainment staff are amazing. They encourage the guest to part take in daily activities. There is also a points system, so for every activity you do you earn points. At the end of your stay you get a gift depending on your points. I thought that was a nice bonus. The games and activities are so much fun. The staff makes it fun and enjoyable.
The common areas are well maintained and are always clean and tidy.
As for the rooms, the room that we booked wasn't as nice as we thought but we weren't spending much time in our room so it didn't bother us. If the room means a lot to you then spend the extra money and get a better room.
I have nothing bad to say about this resort, I'm planning my next stay. I spoke to other guest and they said this resort was better than all other Sandals in Mo Bay and Sandals Negril. There were many returning guest. I highly recommend Sandals, it's worth every penny!!!

Sandals Grenada: Excellant Food
Hotel was gorgeous and all the food and restaurants were amazing. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Pink Gin rooms and were right on the beach. I wouldn't bother paying more for the butler rooms or villas because they were back farther from the beach. The gym was also very nice with a great view of a pond and fountains. Overall a great honeymoon.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Beautiful Time at La Toc!
My wife and I went to La Toc for our Honeymoon and had an incredible time! If you are going and booking a butler suite ask for Christus & Sidney and you will have the time of your lives! The food is incredible and resort is beatiful. My only advice is that when we first arrived without a butler level room there are many exclusions (room service, dinner at some restaurants, and stocked bar in your room are not included)

Sandals South Coast: Relaxing Trip
This was our first visit to Sandals Whitehouse, we have previously stayed at Sandals Grande Riviera and Sandals Royal Caribbean. The drive from the airport was long (11/2 hrs.) but not as rough as some people have made it out to be. Overall the staff at Whitehouse are very friendly, helpful and want you to have a great vacation. Special thank you to Keon, Henry, Renaldo, Richard, Annakay and last but not least Shanice!, bartenders at the main pool swim-up bar. We never had a bad meal and tried a[... read more]ll but the Asian restaurant. Try and get a table closest to the ocean for a great view of the sunset at Bluefields restaurant. We had a deluxe room and it was bigger than we expected, although it would be nice if all their rooms had bigger bathrooms like the higher level suits. My only other problem with Sandals in general is that in Jamaica you have to stay in a concierge or butler suite to get free wi-fi. We used Club Mobay before returning home and felt it was worth it for the comfort, food and service.

Sandals Halcyon Beach: Simply Paradise!
This resort was beautiful, small and was a place to really enjoy your time as a couple. If you are looking for peace and quiet Sandals Halcyon is the place for you. This was the first time since our honeymoon 26 years ago that we were able to go away on our own and we really enjoyed being a couple again. Very romantic and the grounds are beautiful. The staff are very friendly and will go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable. This is one of the older sandals resorts in St Lucia and the ro[... read more]oms could use a bit of up dating but they were very clean and to me that's important. The food was fantastic. l found a lot of healthy choices which was important to us we like to eat healthy. l would of liked to see more seafood on the menu as we are fish lovers. The best part is when you stay at one sandals in St Lucia you can visit the other 2. We did visit the other 2 but it was always nice to come home to the Halcyon. We did a full day excursion JOE KNOWS hands down was a lot of fun and you got to see beautiful St Lucia. We also did the Romantic Dinner on the beach a must do as well worth the $ . Overall we had the time of our lives. Thank you Halcyon for our week in Paradise. One day we will return for sure.
