Beautiful resort

This is the nicest and most beautiful resort that I've been to in Cuba and I've been to several. Grounds are beautiful - the people are fabulous, always going out of there way to be more than accomodating, the food is fantastic. I would highly recommend this resort!

Best resort we have stayed at

This resort was excellent. Rooms were spotless, food was amazing. The staff were very friendly. It was nice to have so much shade at the pool and beach and lots of chairs available. Entertainment was very good. We will be returning to this resort.

Perfect for comfortable relaxing stay

Overall this meets a high standard as an adult only resort. Excellent food options with experienced and helpful service. Beach swimming is difficult, but beach area is fine. Outstanding pool with mutilple seating choices. Good grounds.

Beautiful Resort!

Love the entetainment at the resort. The dancers and musicians are awesome. They are true artists. We had a good time dancing, kayaking, going out with catamaran. The resort has a beautiful gym. The best food that you can have, the chefs at this resort are the best! Fish and lobsters are on the menus and they are cooked to perfection. We love the ground surrounding our room. Overall it was a very good vacation except for some minor defects, we love this resort.

Exceeded our expectations

we just came back from a week at this hotel, the weather was gorgeous all week, the food is wonderful, the ground is beautifully designed, very romantic place, the spa is piece of heaven. the lobby bar staff are wonderful as well the waitress every where, the A la carte restaurants are exceptional. I now know why so many couples are repeat clients, why change something so good.

Still a great Resort

This was our 3rd time at this resort. We've tried other 5 stars in Cuba but always return to this one. The Beach, Pool and Grounds are breathtaking. The Staff go out of there way to make your vacation memorable. They are so friendly and accommodating. The accommodations, food & drinks are good (better then any resort we've been to in Cuba). Great value. Highly recommend this resort.

Feels like a welcoming family

Spacious, artistically designed ground, smiling faces who make eye contact and greet in the language of their country and try your language. Clean rooms pools. Live entertainment at desired times day and night. Some really classy performances in music and dance.

Great trip and the Resort was so nice!

We just came back from our trip a few days ago and we were still repeating ourselves that this was our best trip to Cuba so far..... the resort was super great, pool was new, our room was so clean and comfortable....had issues with the a/c and it was fixed really quick....the people are so nice and happy! the staff is always there to help....overall it was a great week in the sun and we have already booked another trip in 2 months with our oldest daughter....that says it all....thank you to the  [... read more]staff and everyone working in the resort to make us feel so welcomed!

Very Friendly Staff

The hotel was beautiful and the grounds were in fair to good shape. I liked the individual buildings that were looked after daily by efficient staff and I could trust that none of my valued items would be missing when I returned. This is a safe resort.

Amazing resort

First they are saying a 5 star but i would rate it a 4, just because it needs a little TLC all around, beside that the food was excellent we are a la carte people but stayed at the buffet all week so many choices and was good. The rooms always clean, the service was excellent from maid, bartender, ground people always with a smile on theire face. Entertainement was excellent starting with the before shows to the main one.

Excellent Resort

The hotel is not new but renovated a few years ago and well maintained. The room was clean and well maintained. The balcony was great with ocean view. The staff were really great. The food at the buffet was very good, and diversified. The evening entertainment can be improved a little bit.

Truly amazing!

This resort is the best resort we have traveled to in Cuba! Amazing grounds and beaches, rooms, food and service, we could not have asked for a better vacation. Thank-you Paradisus Rio de Oro and Tripcentral for an amazing vacation!

Simply the best

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this resort. Everything is top notch and the service and food were superb. Tripcentral had free park and fly and from the time we got to the airport to the time we got home, we had no complaints.

Great time away from the kids!

The place was in renovations which we knew ahead of time. The pool they recently renovated was beautiful, you could stand and lean in the ledge of the infinity pool and see the ocean. Amazing! Everything was within close range. Food ... I don't know what people want .. We found the food amazing except for the Royal service which was odd. Exceptional Royal Service

We booked our 8 day vacation through Trip Central and that was smooth and without a hitch. We flew Cubana Air, which could do with a upgrade/refresh. Paradisus Rio De Oro was a disappointment, moreso due to the reconstruction of pool and pool restaurant and area. There had been no rain for 6 months and so the resort was dry and not tropical as you would expect. There were only a handful of people there, which made it seem like a ghost town. Loved the second floor room overlooking the ocean, the huge bathroom and outdoor shower; butler service; three tiered infinity pool and the service was exceptional. The snorkeling is awesome as it the beach and the beach bar service. We were fortunate we were able to upgrade and really enjoyed our vacation.

Disappointing

The grounds were great, but luck of food and air condition in buffet made our trip disappointing. Also pool renovation was suppose to give few extras to guests but only if you purchase things. For example you get 50 CUC off on massage thats costs 108 CUC. A la carte food was very poor as well.

Amaing resort

Has excellent views, lots of beautiful birds excellent beach and above all very nice and friendly people. Thoroughly relaxing vacation. Enjoyed having lunch on beach everyday. Food was average but Cuban food was very good flavourfull.

Very pretty and relaxing resort.

Hotel grounds were well kept with a nice Botanical garden. Spa service was ok with employees not all trained in Massage techniques, as only men do deep tissue. It was not appropriate for us as a couple. We were reimbursed for one massage. The Spa was private and had a beautiful beach and salt water pool. This was great for pictures. The food was definitely great with something for everyone to enjoy. The staff were fantastic. The rate of exchange in Cuban pesos was a rip off as we lose converting [... read more] to US then pay more to convert to Cuban. It rained for three days then beautiful sunshine. This didn't bother us but there was nothing to do when it rained. The entertainment staff need to be trained to keep people and activities going In the lobby area with fun games with small prizes. There were only board games, 2 pool tables and a Bar to get your drink on. The lobby was very nice to just hang out and meet people. Nightly entertainment was good with dancing sometimes. The restaurants were all great. The Internet was hit and miss as we couldn't contact all our family. They need an upgrade to this service especially when most people hang out in the lobby to relax and enjoy a drink or 2, set up dinners, spa services etc... The Beach was full of Coral and not safe to swim in but snorkeling looked like fun. You could always find a palapa and some sandy areas to stand around in the water. The pools were very nice and lunch restaurant by the pool was the best. All in all we enjoyed our time at PRDO.

Very nice resort

The rooms were very clean and comfortable and spacious. Staff at the resort were very friendly, and willing to do so much for you. Felt very welcome by all those working at the resort. There was a good variety of food available. Really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant the experience!!!

Great Resort

It was our first time to Cuba. All in all the Paradisus Rio De Oro was a nice resort. The people were very friendly. The grounds were well manicured. Our room was ok- the bathroom was dated but our maid, Joandra kept it very clean for us. There were only two things we felt needed improvement- the nightly entertainment and their dress code for dinner. The men have to wear long pants for dinner- This is understandable for the fancier restaurants, but not for the buffet. The buffet is more of a re [... read more]laxed dinner atmosphere and shorts should be allowed. Each night they had live entertainment- but it wasn't always professional. Some nights you felt you were watching high school skits. If you are interested in taking a day excursion, the catamaran ride/swimming with the dolphins is excellent. The lobster lunch was delicious!
