So much fun!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were spoiled for our honeymoon; bouquet of flowers, bottle of champagne, breakfast in bed (so much food), special a la carte dinner, etc. The resort has so many activities available to do, we didn't bother with any outside excursions. There is a cute market down the road, about a 5 minute walk.

Playa Pesquero 3.5 - 4 Stars

The hotel rooms was very clean but dated, the grounds was being worked on but required fixing up. The staff was outstanding and service was excellent. Overall this is a very nice resort just requiring up updating and repairs to the grounds. The was food was excellent and plentiful. The statement you hear being used "remember it's Cuba", this is an old statement which no longer applies in most cases as this resort does have a segregated area which looks as if would be equivalent to 4.5 - 5 Stars  [... read more]in North America which makes it evident that the resorts can be compared to the rating scales for the resorts everywhere.

Execllent Vacation- Resort

The hotel is an excellent very clean and well kept, the rooms and the bungalows are roomy and again I can not stress enough the cleanliness and the upkeep, the grounds the walk ways are lined with lots of green plants and flowering bushes, the main dining areas are very well organized, the food is very good and plentiful, the staff is very friendly and efficient, the restaurants again very efficient and very friendly staff, The beach there is some coral getting in but when in the water is  [... read more]beautiful and crystal clear , the pools are amazing. Great resort

had a great time at playa pesquero - great beach, very beautiful clean pool - not deep enough to swim much but otherwise gorgeous, superior plus room very nice, spacious and clean, buffet food - the fresh stuff that is cooked or prepared in front of you is great - the food put out ahead of time is not good at all. the reservations for the specialty restaurants all terrific - good food, well cooked. the entertainment was terrible first few nights, then excellent last four nights (we went tuesday [... read more] to tuesday, so hard to say why this is so or how to predict when the good stuff will be, but the good shows were really excellent and not to be missed), staff mostly great - friendly and responsive to any problems or requests, excursion to Holguin was interesting and informative - terrific guide. one problem was the buggies that take you around - picked this resort specifically for this as one of our party has mobility issues - it was helpful but could have been more so with a better system - often could not get buggy when needed. there is a train every twenty minutes, which is probably ok in good weather but we had unrelenting rain all week - a system to call a buggy when needed would have been good. another problem was the smoke in the lobby area - again likely not a problem in good weather but with the rain the lobby was full and although it is open the smoke became oppressive, overall great resort, great vacation. thank you playa pesquero!

Well Run Resort

Clean,staff always very friendly and attentive.Well laid out,very clean pool,lots of lounges &shade.Always lots to eat and drink.Alacarte restaurants great for a memorable dining experience.This was our second visit and we enjoyed the resort as much as the first visit,although there seemed to be more wind.

Amazing Resort!!

This was our second time visiting Playa Pesquero and is was just as fabulous as the first time there. We brought other family members with us and they were in awe over the spectacular view of the lobby, lodgings and grounds. The magnificent pool spans the centre of the resort, having a large and small bridge to walk across to get to a few stores to shop. There is always an abundance of food. There is also a wide variety of drinks from alcohol to several kinds of coffee, tea and pitchers of water with fruit available all day and night. The entertainment staff do a wonderful job with water aerobics, beach volley ball, dance lessons, shows at night, as well as presenting the children at the resort with their own little show. With this being such a large resort, the cleaning staff do a wonderful job at keeping it as clean as possible. The beach is wonderful with a couple of places to get a drink, along with a pizza place where you order your own personal pizza and a restaurant to have a tasty hamburger... The staff are all very friendly and do a wonderful job! Thanks once again to everyone for another memorable vacation!!!

Playa Pesquero Premium

We checked in the the hotel and our room and quickly upgraded to the premium side. We found the first room very tired looking and the resort too busy with people. When we went to the premium side, we had truly come to paradise! Superior accommodations, food and service with blessed quiet and no disco!!! Adults only. Worth the extra $1000. Service was amazing and the food was quite good for Cuba. Lovely beach and pool. Spa and gym and nothing crowded. Nice and lazy and luxurious!

Nice Resort.

Large in size but after a while figured out some short cuts to get around clean well maintained staff friendly with good service. Rooms kept clean with friendly room service. Beach amazing beautiful white sand great for morning walks could be longer not as long as Cayo Santa Maria but worked out fine. Shows/entertainment was good every night have no issues with this place would go back if pricing was inline.

Amazing Resort

Overall the resort ROCKED. We had a great time everything from the food to the rooms and bars were SUPER. We met some great people from different parts of this crazy world of ours. The staff were very overwhelming and went out of their way to make our holiday worry free .The only bad part about the resort was the bed, was a little hard but that was not a very big issue rooms were clean restaurants were well maintained and clean. Simply AMAZING !!!!

We had such a great time and great food. This is a huge resort but very spread out. If you love walking this is wonderful. Many paths with lots of mature trees. A lot of quiet areas to relaxe. We enjoyed the "boulevard" were you could sit in various small restaurants/bars and have food a la carte during lunch time. We have tried 3 restaurants a la carte at night and they were all very good. We had shrimps and lobsters "flambee" and also langoustes that were just delicious. People are nice and you don't feel the pressure to "tip" them. The pool is huge and very nice. White sand at the beach. Clean public bathrooms with toilet paper. We will definitely go back. Great Resort

The swimming pools were very clean, plenty of chairs, there were lots of towels for the beach/swimming pool area. The restaurant a la carte were delicious! Our room was clean and was always done every morning.

Great time

Great large resort. So many choices to eat or drink. Buffet food was good with lots of choices. Cooking stations are sometimes slow so you decide if you want to wait. I like to eat like I do at home, choose a protein and then add a couple of sides, if you can stop there. A la cartes were all delicious. Got my fill of lobster. I'm an early riser so was at the beach by 7ish to get a shady spot and go for a nice beach walk before it got too hot. I'm not a pool person but the pools are huge and a bit chilly this time of year. I could easily have stayed more than 1 week.

Fantastic holidays

The resort was more then expected. Clean room the staff was very curteous and with always a nice smile. So many chairs at the beach and pool and almost new. The food was soooo......good. Lots of restaurant à la carte the service was just amazing and the food was great. We finished our week at the restaurant Romantico could not have picked a better restaurant. For the size of the resort there was more then enough room for everyone without being crowded.

Amazing time

want to thank Jennifer again for an amazing vacation. all our request for our room and it's location were met. food was good beach was great weather was amazing. building 57 was perfectly located for everything. steps from pool 2 minute walk to beach. would recommend this resort to anyone.

Good place to stat in Hoguin

This resort is very nice.Staff overall was fantastic,grounds ,common areas, rooms and restrooms very clean,rooms are dated but very clean,beach very nice,need more shade areas ,pool area fantastic,food on buffet has large variety but its Cuba and buffet ,alacart restaurants great ,entertainment was good

Beautiful place for a vacation!!

This is definitely one of the superior Cuban resorts. Good ambiance, the hotel lobby was amazing. The food was wonderful with an extensive variety served in both the buffet restaurants and in the a la carte venues. Lots of activities to participate in and the pool and beach were beyond compare. Highly recommended!!!

Gorgeous Resort

Beautiful grounds, kept very tidy. Rooms were clean and stocked daily. Gladys our chambermaid was sure a love and so friendly. If we needed anything just had to ask. Food was great, probably the best we have had in Cuba, tried 5 out 7 Specialty Restaurants Tough decision between the Cuban and Caribbean. Beach was amazing, water just as blue as anything. Shade at the beach is plentiful even if you don't get a palapa there are trees all over. They have a train that travels the Resort constantly and golf carts if you need a quick ride. Overall this is a fantastic Resort and we will return.

Great vacation

Sure you have heard how great the beaches are & that they were. The food was not bad at all. The employees were very nice & worked hard to make sure things were cleaned. The rooms however were a bit tired meaning that they could use some repairs. The only disappointment we had was we were not informed that the dance club was under renovation & would not be opened for a number of months. With that information we may not have chosen this hotel for our vacation. Luckily we met som [... read more]e musicians from Toronto Canada who had taken their guitars & helped with the entertainment. Late one night I was walking back to my room. One of the security staff followed me back (I was by myself). He scared me. As I was approaching our building he asked me to wait for him. Luckily I had my key in my hand & quickly went to the door closing it behind me. The next day I was telling some guests I had met & discovered a security man the same night went to her door asking for a drink & smoke. She told me she was frightened by this experience. All guests should be able to feel safe while staying at the resort.

Amazing resort

Just came back from a week at Playa Pesquero, the beach was superb, not crowded and no problems getting beach chairs and towels. The pool area was huge with plenty of space to relax, the bars were well located and the staff were exceptionally friendly throughout the resort.The bathrooms were clean and maintained. The rooms were very clean and a nice size. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff at the Pasquero are. I would highly recommend this resort, we had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back

Excellent service. Great layout. Beautiful beach that was not crowded. Food was great. Ice cream parlour was a regular stop to and from the beach. Rooms were big and spacious, not modern, but had everything you needed - hot water, flushing toilets, comfortable bed and pillows (!!). No bugs or roaches. Already planning to return.
