5th Time and still amazing!

This was our 5th time going to the same resort; reason is that the grounds are great; room very good; staff very pleasant; beach (28km) of potential walking; pure white sand and absolutely in front of the hotel. The beach front for this hotel is one of the nicest on the coast. Although renovations were underway we had issues with noise.

Excellent Review for returning couple

The grounds are beautiful, clean and the staff is very accommodating and helpful. This is the second time visiting this resort and once again we were just as happy as we were the first time. We would definitely like to re-visit.

Great vacation!

We stayed at the Grand Bahia Príncipe which is part of a complex including Bavaro, Esmerelda and some other resorts all in the same grounds. Be prepared to walk or take the trolley which passes very often on 3-4 main "roads" to get from the lobby and buffet area to the beach with stops in between for the pools or your villas. Rooms were nice and clean although not always fully re-stocked (tissue, toiletries, towels) but clean and spacious. I would have liked a snack station near to the 2 giant pools in the middle of the complex as we were drinking in the swim up bar but nothing to munch on. There is a snack bar/buffet at the "main" pools just before the beach. Those pools are always crowded and seemed less clean and peaceful for us. The kids have a fabulous water park with slides which is fantastically entertaining for the kids. The wifi is minimal (in the steamy lobby for 1 hour a day) which can be a blessing or a curse depending on your needs. Drinks were strong and yummy. I would recommend this resort and def this chain.

Best vacation ever

We stayed at the Gran Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana we loved and enjoyed every moment in that resort. Service, food, rooms, everything was exceptional. We definitely recommend this hotel . We would for sure come back !

Never going to Bahia Principe in The Dominican republic again!

From the minute we arrived, it was a mess! Paid extra to be in Golden suite what a joke. Room wasn't ready although it should be by 5 o'clock, that wasn't it we had no towels in room or shampoo so we called and they brought to us, but this went on everyday I guess they wanted to be tipped every time we called. The air conditioning unit did not work for first three days, the mini refrigerator in room did not work at all had it replaced on last day. The food was at best a 1 on a scale of 5 horr [... read more]ible. I just want to say that I had stayed at Bahia Principe at least 7 times prior to this one and have been going to Dominican Republic for 30 years and have stayed at Bahia in different countries too but what happened here its my last. Everything has changed I remember they would put on a nice food spread, not anymore! They have a lot of people employed but its like they don't care, they have cut back on food for sure, quality is not there. To be quite honest I think that management is very poor they did nothing to help us with the room situation although I called 30 maybe 40 times no one would step up to the plate. Oh by the way I had 2 rooms the second had a mosquito, and bugs infestation that could not get rid off. Beach still nice but resort not.

Wonderful vacation

This resort is absolutely one on the best I have stayed ... Everything from the room , pool , grounds, food was superb .. Would go back in a heart beat ... Loved it ... The staff at this resort was the best !

Great hotel

Grounds were kept immaculate Room was standard didn't get what I asked though Great hotel overall The beaches were great and the services were standard. The people were very friendly and courteous. We arrived At 12.30 in the afternoon but our room was only ready at 3.pm and that was not cool at all.

Good family resort

We had a good experience at this hotel where we spent some family time relaxing by the pool, kids played countless hour at the water park, and we enjoyed the nightly entertainment. We left with some great memories and felt fully rested. The food was good and the main buffet had a great selection which varied from night to night. There were, however, things that could have been better. We found the resort was too big and too populated and as the result going anywhere within the resort with kids [... read more] was not as convenient. You had to wait for the bus, sometimes it was full and you had to wait for the next one. Also, at times you would not be able to get any towel at the beach since hey had ran out! They also don't have enough restaurants for the number of guests they host. We weren't able to book all of our restaurants since the only available time was at 10:30 pm and that is too late with kids. Overall, we had a good time, but this resort can improve some of its services.

Amazing Resort

Sensational resort!!!! A fabulous family vacation!!!!!! Would definitely recommend this resort! From the grounds , pool, beach, bars, and variety of foods from the buffets or al a cartes everything was to our liking!!!!!!

Beautiful resort!

Thanks to Karol Chareza our travel agent we had an amazing time in Punta Cana. Karol suggested Gran Baha'i Punta Cana and made all our arrangements for us and he was just wonderful and so full of knowledge. The resort is very large and beautiful and grounds are immaculately kept. The rooms are clean but a little dated. Your not in them much so not a big deal. Buffet and restaurants where excellent. Plenty of variety on the buffets and good quality too. The shows at night are very good, especiall [... read more]y the Michael Jackson show, a must see. Very hot in Punta Cana and trying to get a chair in the shade around the pool proved to be difficult most days as people reserve them very early in the morning by placing their towels on them. Good food areas around the pool and bar service was good. All in all a great time.

Excellent!!!

Hotel was clean, staff friendly and all our needs were taken care of immediately upon request! The beach was near the top of my list for beaches that I have been to. White sand, turquoise water and very very clean!

It was Big and Beautiful

It was my first time in a resort that large my travel agent Agela reassured me it was great an well laid out. I loved loved loved it. The grounds the pools the resturants and the beach were top notch. We will be back.

Good

Nice resort. Good staff and food was pretty good. Buffet was decent and the steak at the grill a la cart was great. Rooms were good but some people had flooding issues. Only real complaint is that all the bars except the disco close at 11:30? Also, the mid area pool bar in the punta Cana section had no snack bar? You had to go to the buffet in the lobby? That was a drag. However the beach area with pool and beach was good.

Amazing time!

Great hotel and staff. Food was excellent and would recommend Japanese, Italian, and Garden grill. Beautiful beaches and pools. Enjoyed my stay in Punta Cana. I would definitely recommend this hotel to both families and couples!

Beautiful well kept grounds and beach

Lovely resort, very good food, friendly service. The beach was white sand and clear bottom. Only caution-confirm your beds per room preferences in advance to avoid checkin delays. Watch your luggage gets all bus connections-it's a popular and busy place!

Fabulous Resort

This hotel is beautiful! The staff worked around the clock. Always polite and smiling! The bathrooms were always very clean as well. The rooms were large, food was amazing, lots and lots of variety. Beach was gorgeous! Trolleys were going all day and night. You never had to wait! Lots to do at this resort. And the SPA was spectacular! My only recommendation of change would be the a la carte restaurants. I'd like my entire meal be served to me rather than the appetizer buffet. It would have been  [... read more]a nice change.

Amazing, clean and beautiful resort!

The resort was absolutely stunning, very big but the trolleys run so efficiently. We never waited for more than 5 minutes for a trolley. Huge variety of food and a snack bar right by the pool! The dinner reservations we made on the resort were phenomenal we chose Mexican, Japanese, steak house and Italian! The beach is beautiful and so clean! Would beyond recommend this resort !

Punta Cana - April 2016

The trip to Punta Cana was my daughters choice which I was very excited to experience this trip with her. We had a number of issues with our room when we arrived. Door wouldn't open after multiple attempts over the course of two days but the staff was great. Finally relocated to another room and no further access issues. The room wasn't as clean as previous hotels, but we didn't spend that much time in our room anyway. Perfect resort!

Resort is huge! Food was great, staff was friendly, I would go back in a heart beat! We stayed until he golden sweet which included 24/7 room service and private check in/out. If I were to stay again I would definitely stay in the Royal golden section, the extra cost is worth it!
