Very nice time

the room was perfect, right across from the pool, service in the lobby was great, always a waitress asking if I needed anything, still not crazy about the food in the cafeteria but found a snack shack at the pool for fish and chips and hamburgers, real good, wish there was a way I could leave Windsor early and have the day in Cuba and come back later in the last day to get more sun, actually only have 5 days vacation, I have bad knees so the ground floor room was great, the ocean is only a few  [... read more]minutes walk, my only complaint is the cafeteria food, I am not a picky eater but I couldn't eat it, maybe a trade deal for food from Canada is in order, oh ya, one more complaint, the exchange rate is way too high, for $100 Canadian I got $68 pesos, this is not fair to Canadian tourists, I will be going back because of the great Cuban people I met

Totally worth it!!!!

Everything was beyond our expectations. Staff was amazing, food was terrific, beach was breath taking, room was immaculate and very clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but overall a great value. You won't be disappointed.

Quiet Resort

This resort is for family with kids, couples that like to relax, and old people. If you are looking for party dont think about going there. Food is decent. Personel people are friendly. Rooms are okay for Cuba not for Canada.

Great resort

The rooms were beautiful and freshly redone when we got there. There are two quiet pools and a main big pool. The staff were so friendly and remembered you by name ! Beautiful place. Would go again!!!

Gorgeous Resort, has a few issues.

“The Good” The hotel and grounds are gorgeous. Checkin/Checkout were simple and fast. We had a suite, and it was spacious and very clean. Beach is absolutely stunning. Weather was amazing. With a bit of experimentation you can find food that is good. We preferred the buffet to the ala carte restaurants. Buffet dinner on New Years Eve was excellent. Sunquest staff on-s [... read more]ite was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. “The Issues” The beach chairs were extremely uncomfortable. Lots of people mentioned this. There was an occasional smell of sewage in our room and in the open air theater for nightly entertainment. Room and beach towels are in scarce supply and sometimes not available. Extra bed brought in for our daughter was extremely uncomfortable. A few problems in the room indicative of shortages: burnt out light bulbs not replaced; showerhead holder broken. We focused on the amazing beach and lived with the shortcomings and had a wonderful time.

Very nice resort

The hotel, pool , grounds were beautifull very well located with perfect access to a beautifull beach. The rooms were very nice .. there were a few kinks eg, our safe did not work some of the lighting was off or on according to its mood.. We were with our daughters so we were able to share their safe in their room with them. Dining was good in the buffet and the grill restaurant by the pool. We were very happy with the food tasty and lots of choices. We have been to a few all inclusive resorts [... read more] in other countries besides cuba and we are still trying to find one in which we can say that we loved the a la carte restaurant and here in cuba I have to say the same... After trying a couple of the a la cartes we much preferred to eat in the buffet restaurant. The entertainment was very nice ... I was disappointed that there was no dancing especially with latin Cuban music. We had been to a different resort last year in cuba and there was always some opportunity to dance before dinner and after the entertainment show Mainly to latin music and I did miss that in this resort. But overall it was very good.

Fantastic resort

I have been to Cuba once before and when I seen this resort I knew I had to come back and stay here!! Was I ever happy I did!! The service was amazing!! The staff here are all up beat not pushing for tips and extras. The grounds we extremely well kept.the a la carte dinners were all wonderful meals. The buffet was good lots to chose from. But my favorite spot was the 24h snack bar, when your done dancing the night away you can still get a plate of fries, a hot dog or hamburger. Excellent holiday

It's a given that hotels in the warmer climates range from grubby to dirty and there will always be something that is broken. If you can accept this then you will have a wonderful holiday at this resort. The housekeeping staff was competent, the food was wonderful and plentiful and varied. The activities were enjoyable. The lobby bar was always active and full. We were a family of five, 3 adults and 2 kids in a family room. Everybody had a good time and ate too much.

Amazing Resort!!

So we stayed at this resort the first week of December 4-8 2016, and I'd like to start off by saying that this was the best Cuba experience I'd ever had. The resort was absolutely gorgeous and well kept, the beach were pristine, clean white sand, zero seaweed, beach volleyball nets, paddle boats, and catamaran rides all included. The rooms were pretty nice, clean bedding and towels were replaced daily as well as bottled water. Fully controllable air conditioning is also inside every room. I' [... read more]d say the only issues i had with the room were the shower head worked fine and hot and cold water was available, but the shower head itself did not have a hanging attachment on the wall so you have to hold it whenever you wanted to use it. Issue #2 is the in room safe had an error code when we tried resetting the code number. We called the front desk to report the issues and they said they would send someone to the room, which they probably did while we weren't there. These issues were definitely not deal breakers and weren't really a big deal. And now the most important part.... The FOOD..... To my amazement the food was really good! In fact the best I've ever had in Cuba..... However, there is a bit of a disclaimer to that statement. If you're the kind of person who loves the variety of a buffet style breakfast lunch and dinner then you'll love the amount of options they have, unfortunately 90%of the options don't look very appetizing. The real All-star in the food court is the hot table, you can get freshly grilled steak, shrimp, eggs and fish or varieties of pizza fresh out of the oven and freshly made pasta. If you do stay here make sure you take advantage of the a la carte restaurants, we had the Japanese 2 nights in a row, it was the best meals we had during our stay. They also have the typical 24 hrs snack bar of fries, hamburgers and hot dogs. Overall, our experience at Langua Azul was great and better than expected, I would highly recommend this resort anyone!

Good resort with some flaws

In my opinion, this is a nicely built resort with a wide sandy beach, green lawns, and many palm trees. Our room was clean and in relatively good condition: everything was working: fan, TV( we changed the batteries in remote control), ceiling fan, air conditioner,safety box, but the sliding door on balcony was not working properly ( lock was broken and it was very hard to slide the door). Unfortunately, plate were not always clean and very often sticky. Some food was good, but some I would not recommend to eat. Fish and shrimps were good, different type of sausages are not very attractive, salads are fine, pizza is good, milk is awful, yogurt is okay( from big baskets, no individual packages). Tropical fruits were good.. "Waitresses" are very different: some are doing a good job serving people, some are lazy and not very friendly. But all of them clean tables with not very clean cloth. Beach towels were a big problem during our stay: we could not change them for 3 days because there wasn't any clean and dry. Also I have to say that all public washrooms are in bad conditions: locks are broken, no paper, unpleasant smell is all around these areas. Definitely, it should be fixed and upgraded because it lowers the resort value and attraction. Also I see some management problems: for example: the plate with potato was overturned near the pool area and nobody was able to pick it up for 3 days. Probably it is still there. Beach was nice even though the sand was not very clean( a lot of plastic straws and cups), palm umbrellas were in good condition, water is super, but there is no beach service:we have to walk to get drinks. Unfortunately, we didn't have an opportunity to enjoy famous Cuban shows because of nine days of Mr.Castro mourning. Anyway, I hope my review will be helpful.

Okay hotel

Poor food selections. If you like pork and shrimp you are good to go. Cleanliness of rooms daily were much to be desired. Pools and pool areas were clean and organized. Lots of chairs available on the beach as well as the pool areas.

Real nice place

everything was good except the food, I lost weight which was good but it was because I couldn't eat the food, they have to upgrade the food in all the hotels , everyone says the same, food was okay when we made reservations at the specialty restaurants, the Italian was very good, the shows were good every night, the market in veradero was great and the catamaran trip was fantastic, the crew on the Lire were very funny and we had a great time, I will be going back, Sunwing rep at the hotel was a  [... read more]very nice guy and spoke very good English

Nice resort

It was a good vacation in this resort but the last 3 days the weather was very windy and cold and we could not swim in the sea or even stay on the beach . the rooms need upgrading . The beds are not confortable . very old closets and mirrors .food was not bad but no tags to know what is the plate you choose . very loud music in the lobby and outside . Any way you have to enjoy the vacation

Great resort

Close to the beach. Amazing very welcoming people. Not many young people at the resort. The cappuccino at the resort was amazing. The service technicians were great help any problems they came right away.

Best Cuba Resort So Far

Stayed Oct 23 to Oct 30th- Suite Room approx $1300/person. Ive been to a few Cuba hotels in Varadero and loved this the most! Grounds were big, well kept, tons of pools- and they were clean! Staff is amazing and theres a lot of them. Drinks are strong enough, bartenders and servers are there to please you! Room was very large, 2 bathrooms, end suite. Bed was a little hard, 2 bathrooms, the enterance had a few ants (to be expected). The cot for the 3rd person was a joke... Room service v [... read more]ery slow. The entertainers were Amazing! So many great shows at night and daytime activities (ie dance practise, soap/bubble pool party, synchronized swimming) - by far exceeded my expectations. Lovely lady at the buffet served us, Yoania, she was like our Cuba mom. The food- we all know Cuba food is mostly bad, but the food here was horrible, nothing was hot. Trays would come out of the kitchen that were cold with cold product. But the A La Cartes were good, especially the Romantic onel. Mushroom and shrimp was good. At the japanese the entertainment was great. During the day the snackbar behind the main building has great sandwiches! Weather was not on our side but we did get to get a Geocache one day. Will feinitely suggest this hotel to my friends! Overall rating 9/10 for the price and value. The people who worked there really made the great experience. I will be visiting an Iberostar brand hotel again!

Nice rewort

The resort was built wisely for rain and winter season (5). No umbrella is needed to get to the restaurant. It is still in a very good condition. The beach is perfect (5+). The staff is nice and helpful (5+). The food during the second week was OK (4).Just keep in mind that the end of October is not the right time for a Cuban vacation.

Excellent resort

An excellent Resort ...very refreshing and comfortable location.Well organized trip and arranged buses.Will definitely visit again and recommend others to visit. Staff is also very friendly and helpful. So Well connected.

Amazing Time

The hotel was amazing. Very well kept together. The only thing was that our room had bad air conditioning and a horrible smell coming out of the air conditioning. The food was an 8/10. The staff was a 10/10. Wifi you have to pay 2 pesos for an hour. Go out into the city to the club strip one night. It's a lot of fun. Pool bar is the best place to hang. The beach was phenomenal and beautiful. Drinks were amazing. We did the jeep excursion which was $100 Canadian. It wasn't worth paying that much  [... read more]and I definately would've done something else but oh well. Overall, beautiful resort.

Great place but could be improved

It's a beautiful resort but we had one beach towel for the whole week. Not pleasant as well chasing for basic room supplies, ie: room towels, water and toilet paper. In spite of the discomforts, an overall great trip!

Good Resort

This was our first visit to Cuba. I have to admit Cuba was definitely not at the top of my list of travel destinations, I was also told to lower my expectations and I did, but it turned out to be better than expected. The grounds were really nicely kept, the room and food was ok. It was the same meal everyday but we ate at the a la carte 3 nights out of the 7. Everyone has a different idea of what beauty is, but if your idea of beauty includes old structures, old vintage cars and the like then Havana is one of the most beautiful City's and you must visit! I will definitely go back to Cuba.
