Brisas Sierra Mar: Great value for the $$

The resort is clean, the people are really nice. Manuel in the dive shop is a star and diving the maze was like walking through a forest - great coral. The food wasn't bad for off season and Cuba. The elevator was working the majority of the time.

Carisol los Corales: Only famous people work here.

They give it their all and what they can. Everything is available sometimes. They also understand at this resort that we give all we can too. Being a smaller resort spread over controlled paddocks could make this a more family location.The backdrop of mountains and the coral filtered sweet water is outstanding. From the understand and hardworking front line to the back line to the chef's and chamber staff made my solo week memorable.

Brisas Sierra Mar: ...below average

The hotel it self need a lot of fixing, water was dripping from roof to hallways making them very slippery. Elevators were working most of the time but not when you really need them! Stairs were not covered and when you need to go 4 or 5 floors up or down in rain not real fun. Not recommended for people with limited mobility. Beach very small, dark sand and full of seaweed, plus lots of sand flees. Very limited shade by the pool area, but lots of chairs. Away from any village or town and no reas [... read more]onable priced transportation available, unless you take a tour which are pricy and run only if have enough people. The staff were very good and accommodating, food variety “like old Cuba” but OK for the “sale price” I paid

Brisas Sierra Mar: Very Enjoyable

The Sierra Mar hotel is well kept and very enjoyable to visit. The workers are always helpful and very respectful and friendly. The meals are not too bad but they are repetitive. I missed tomatoes which were never available during my two weeks. I went Saturday night to Chiririco for their weekly festival and the show was great. The beach is clean and you can go quite far before the water level rises. The road from the airport has been rebuilt and the trip took about 70 minutes. Hotel Casa Granda: Marked improvement from 2013 trip

First time visitor to this hotel , last year stayed at a resort outside Santiago. Casagranda was a marked improvement in food ,room,and service.Food selection was very limited but was ok , coffee was not to our liking but I brought my own instant coffee .Numerous restraunts in the area and grocery stores for beer ,snacks etc. $ 100.00 canadian = 85 Cuban cuts at hotel and banks.We were satisfied with our visit to Santiago this year.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Great time

We go to the Sierra mar every year and love it everytime. The staff are wonderful and the entertainment is stellar. You can't beat the view, located between the Santiago mountains and the carribean sea, it's breathtaking. I would recommend taking a tour into town to visit the local restaurants and book the moped trip through the hotel, it really give you a good look into the Cuban lifestyle. We love this place and will be returning next year.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Relaxing resort!

The grounds were fantastic. Since it was low season they held back on a lot of things: food was not the best, ac not working in dining room, pool not being cleaned daily. Still, it was a wonderful vacation - water sports great, friendly people, fantastic scooter trip organized with Kathy. Her husband is the guide and very knowledgeable.

Aver all was excellent. There is one thing that has happened at my 4th visit form 10 to 24 August this year. Some kind of sea parasites has eaten me alive without me even feel or see it. At the end of the day my skin had so many red etching pimples. I had to go to hotels clinic to get a treatment. It has taken me 2 weeks to those unpleasant pimples to disappear. What was very interesting all Cuban friends that were with me at that time had no marks on their skin, how about that?

Carisol los Corales: getting old

Staff here are wonderful but unfortunately seem to be trying to cope with management indifference. With the odd exception food is bland and unappealing. Rooms are still well kept but showing signs of age.

Hotel Casa Granda: Roof top restaurant breath taking view

Excellent location lot of restaurants in the neighborhood, ATM around the corner, tour operator just across the hotel, sit in the main floor lobby restaurant never get board minus point is the service need more training.

Costa Morena: Very Good Value

For the cost, I don't think you can find better value. The staff were friendly and helpful, it's right on the ocean, food was not high end restaurant, but wholesome and lots of it. My room was clean and comfortable, and every room has a view of the ocean. If you want a quiet getaway, some place to go enjoy the sun and people of Cuba, read a good book and wind down, then this is the place for you. I will definitely be going back.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Good Value

We went there in mid-July, and so the price was good for what we got. Food was good overall and the service was good. The resort is small as is the beach. Rooms were pretty good. Beds were not overly comfortable.

I have been to this hotel for so many years has no beach very quite place 28 km from the city but they don't supply all the time hot water that a big problem. food no much different than others hotels.And now is a big problems with all englusive hotels, whichs the tourist from the same country they go for vacation in those hotels and they take hotels food at theirs homes and we from another country we are with out food not enough for us .if we get there at restaurant early we may get some.

Hotel Casa Granda: Bad Food

The room is OK, simple old TV, small fridge, bed to sleep and usable washroom. The food is completely disgusting, staff are ok, but not trained to serve or make safe food. Location is nice, but no beach. Because of the food, I decided to never go back to Cuba.

Brisas Sierra Mar: First All Inclusive Vacation

My husband and I had a great, relaxing time. It was our first all inclusive vacation. We plan on returning to this resort. It was very retirement feeling, but we really enjoyed it! (even though we are in our 20's). There is a safe, close town near by that everyone has to explore!! We felt very safe walking outside of this resort.

Melia Santiago: second time lucky

The first time I stayed at the Melia hurricane Sandy arrived our first night and pretty much totaled the city. We moved on but we're sad to leave the hotel after they had worked so hard to keep us safe and happy. We returned last February and stayed in the same room and enjoyed the help from the same staff. We found them very gracious friendly. I took a few very modest gifts and they were well received. You can't go wrong with baseball stuff or computer peripherals like mice or keyboards. For m [... read more]e the highlight of the visit to Santiago was hearing live music four out of seven nights. If we go back to Santiago we will definitely stay with our friends at the Melia.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Great little resort

Loved it at Sierra mar. Laid back atmosphere and staff was always hospitable. It's a nice Getaway with a relaxed atmosphere. Evening are quiet and relaxing. Beach beyond the hotel allows you to walk miles. Always felt safe there

Diving was great with everyone very helpful, lots to see. Rooms are clean, cleaning staff very helpful and friendly Great staff. I have returned four times and I always enjoy myself. If you don't want fancy this is the place for you.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Great Resort

Although it was recently hit with a hurricane, this hotel was gorgeous with a great mountain view. The drinks were always cold and the food was surprisingly good. The crowd was a little bit older than I'd imagined but overall it was great!

Brisas Los Galeones: Excellent stay!

I went on short notice after a death in the family for rest and recovery. It's a small modest hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the pool wonderful, the food very good and the staff delightful. It's a sister to a larger resort so if you feel like crowds and more eating choices and bigger pools, you can do that easily with a quick trip to the other resort. There are regulars who have been coming back for years and I found this at first tiresome but it is a large part of the charm. It is a couple o [... read more]f hundred stairs down to the beach so you plan for it when you go. The Manager Eddy has been there for 20 years and goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable. I would come back.
