Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Awesome family resort

A beautiful and clean resort that’s compact, well organized and family friendly. The beach is incredible, food is great, service is perfect and everyone is so nice. They’ve got tons of activities for kids and adults, and you’ll never be bored. This is probably one of the nicer resorts we’ve been to. Highly recommended

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Fantastic Resort

We absolutely loved our stay at Luxury Bahia Principe Samana last week. The food was amazing - we highly recommend the buffet food - everything you could want and more was offered and it was all delicious. I loved the Italian restaurant, but RODIZIO restaurant for Brazilian BBQ was incredible! Book it as soon as you arrive. The staff were so friendly, accommodating, excellent service at the bars especially. Great drinks! Although some negative comments from other reviewers I read prior to booking were on point (ie. room fridge was not very cold, hot tub was not very hot), we found them inconsequential. Overall, this resort was perfect for us and we have absolutely no complaints at all. It was quiet, entertaining, inspiring and so much fun ... and we will definitely visit again!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: breathtaking views and selection of food

So many areas to walk around, on grounds, lots of stairs. Clean, manicured and friendly staff. close to town, vendors too aggressive in town. Excursions were jam packed full of culture. Tour guides were very knowegeable of history and surroundings.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great Stay

The hotel was kept clean! We had great service & weather. The bed is hard as a rock & things are quite noisy in the main building! The pool is great & the workers at the beach were working continuously to keep the seaweed at a tolerable level for guests. Both we really enjoyed! We did the zip lining excursion highly recommend! We did enjoy the spa but I would not recommend doing their hydrotherapy spa here - i wouldn’t even be saying it’s a hydrotherapy spa... really just a sauna. There is a lot of walking but honestly it’s great especially since you are indulging all week! All staff was great ! Food was decent also ! Great deal for what we paid! Nothing of Grand Bahia Principe Cayacoa - but our airline provider Air Canada Rouge was what I consider ‘subpar’. If you do not have to fly with this company , then do not. Staff was friendly but everything else subpar.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Wonderful island resort

The grounds are a lush tropical paradise. The main building is a masterpiece and tastefully decorated with white on butter yellow...beautiful fragrant flowers everywhere!! The service was impeccable. We did not take advantage of all the amenities like room service or fragrance in your rooms, or special pillows...as we were in our rooms just to sleep. So, I sat an inordinate number of hours in a semi comatose (from all the food and drink) daze. A big congratulatory shout out to Eduardo and at the beach bar. He always had a smile for you no matter how busy it got!! The butlers Anthony and Yuri were also very polite and at your service for whatever you needed. The three hour bus ride from the Puerto Plata airport became a 5 hour bus ride due to traffic and delays, so that is something I would never want to do again. It's best to fly in directly to Samana.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Perfect spot for a fun but relaxing vacation

The Luxury Bahia Principe Samana is everything you want if you're looking for a relaxing but fun vacation. If you plan to spend time in your room make sure to get one with ocean view (most of them face the water, but the ones with a balcony are worth it). But if not, do not worry, as the view from the various spots in the hotel are breath taking. This hotel has the perfect beach size for the number of guests, not too big, not too small, it is well kept and well service by the staff, bar tende [... read more]rs, and butlers. The food is fresh and delicious. Access to the theme restaurants was easy, we were able to get reservations for every night just by using the hotel app. Buffet has a good variety of fresh options and we were never disapointed. The entertainment was adequate, and events throughout the day (mostly around the pool) gave the feeling that there was always something going on. Although there were some honey-mooners celebrating around, I would recommend the Luxury Bahia Principe Samana to a mature audience (40 and up) whom, I suspect, will be able to appreciate the subtleties this hotels has to provide the perfect balance of a relaxing, fun, and enjoyable vacation.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Expectations exceeded!

Looking through the pictures online and reading reviews we had built the expectations of a good resort with decent food and staff. Our expectations were blown out of the water! From the boat ride to the island to the trip home we were pampered. The staff is amazingly friendly and always trying their best to improve your stay. The facilities are clean and modern. The report is in a very nice location .. the beach is excellent.. overall the villas and the rooms are clean and spacious but some of them need updating. Room services are good choice for couples and families with babies.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Everithing OK.

We spend one week in EL Portillo in December. I tried to remember anything negative and could not. Check in was amazingly fast and room was ready. in our unit everything was working, fridge filled with beer, water and softdrinks. And every day it was replenished. Food and drinks were ok, guys in all bars work very fast and you never have to wait long for your drink. No big waves like in Punta Cana but a lot of reefs close to shore so have to careful when swim, but can watch fish around them. S [... read more]ervice's good organized -I have some problems with seif, called "0" and in several minutes guy was at our door. Resort is pretty small, they arranged place outside for shows but everybody sitting on the same level and stage very low. Bar in the lobby closed at 11 p.m. I think its pretty early. And would be good to have big numbers of buildings so you can see it from distance, now there are only small signs close to entrance. This resort is very good for somebody who looking for small, quiet place.

Smaller quiet hotel. Everything close by, beach is calm and no big hotels on either side for miles. Great walking beach and very scenic. Been there 9 times now. Food pretty good and staff are super. Drinks on the beach are of middle shelf standards.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Even better the second time!!!

It was hard to believe, but it was better. And as far as we were concerned the first time we were at this resort, we thought it was amazing then. But they have added to the restaurant on the beach, were we would go for the luncheon buffet. They added onto to the lounge pass the lobby with additional indoor and outdoor seating. We were booked into the Rodizio, Brazilian, but never made it. Entertainment was wonderful - the Michael Jackson show as well as a marvellous tenor, his voice was amazing and then there was the guitarist from Venezula. He did a song of Santana, and you thought it was the original. There was a Studio 57 night, with great music and everyone was up dancing to the likes of Saturday Night Fever etc. The bar staff was great, a shout out to Jorge - can't wait to see him again. Room was lovely and always kept spotless. As for the beach and the ocean, it was spectacular - you could walk for miles. We took bread into the ocean near the coral and the show of colourful fish was great. Our agent Candice Anger had us in the Golden Club and we were checked into our room at the airport with our bracelets and our room was ready when we got there - with our beach towels in the room. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Cannot wait to go back.

this was our second time at this resort. we loved it the first time and second time was even better. hopefully we will be back again. very clean, staff friendly, and the views are outstanding. great place.

Cet hôtel est luxueux avec une vue extraordinaire sur la mer. Le personnel est accueillant, attentionné et professionnel. Nous avons été très bien reçus et servis.La nourriture du buffet est très variée, abondante et délicieuse. Les restaurants à la carte (3) sont aussi très bons. Le site est très propre tant au niveau de la piscine que des jardins. La suite que nous avons occupée (# 4105) était spacieuse, bien entretenue et avec vue sur la mer. La plage est toutefois petite et l [... read more]a mer est souvent houleuse. Recommandation : Éviter les excursions locales. Elles sont dispendieuses et ne valent pas le coût; exemple: visite du parc national (3 heures de visite / 3 heures sur la plage à rien faire, lunch exécrable). Il est préférable de profiter de tous les atouts et activités de l'hôtel.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Happy we returned to ElPortillo

We stayed at GBP El Portillo back in March and returned in November as we liked it so much. This resort is good value and affordable to come back to time and time again. The food is so good here. The buffet has such a good assortment of food for all meals. The beach is a highlight of this resort. You can walk for miles enjoying the beautiful scenery. The mountains off to the right make it seem like you are in Hawaii. This time we got Royal Golden package with Air Transat. It offered a clo [... read more]ser room, some potato chips and the use of the club room which is air conditioned and has some top shelf liquor (canadian rye), coffee maker and pastries. I believe it also offered us 24 hour wifi in the lobby. In March we had a superior room which was located at the back of the resort. I found this room newer and quieter but had further to walk. The RG room was closer but older and a bit smelly but essentially the same. The absolute best part of this trip is the staff. They are the friendliest, kind, hardworking people. Jorge at the pool bar has the best smile and is my favourite staff member. The bar is very busy at times and he never lost his cool with the demanding people. Just kept on smiling....Love you Jorge! Augustin in the lobby bar is a favourite as well. Alway there with a smile. Our favourite booking company is Trip Central so hats of to the staff there. We will return and be happy when we are greeted like family ... see you soon!

Very clean, not noisy or crazy...Lots of fun,new friends..We enjoyed are stay, no issues with food or beach at all. Fridge filled daily, we all enjoyed it all 3 couples..met some new friendships out of it also !

Cayo Levantado Resort: Amazing Resort

I couldn't have asked for more! The hotel was beautiful and the staff were great too, especially, Emmanuela in charge for villa 26. Thank you for such a memorable time. I highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have a relaxing vacation.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Excellent resort

We liked the hotel: rooms are spacious and clean, food was great, and the beach we love. The staff was great, very nice, polite and overall very good experience from the reception, bar tenders, people in the restaurants and others.. All in all one of the best vacations recently, and we are thinking of going back.

Resort was Amazing..food was good quality . Rooms were very clean and comfortable. However there was No activity on the beach and beach was way too small and the water was too rough to swim. Most of the staff and servers were friendly. Some should smile more . Overall good value.

The hotel was perfect, the food was great and the beach was amazing. The staff was so nice. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was very quick the location perfect. I would return to this place anytime..
