Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Decameron runaway Bay
Hotel was dated and need some up grades. It's quite rustic for people wanting to just get away relax and have fun and enjoy the cats around the compound. I was personally disappointed with the Air Canada vacation representative Danielle that was nowhere around was not able to assist us in any way and due to the fact that we were not able to book tours or any of that leaving her several message and trying to contact her from the hotel it was not professional Air Canada needs to check into that be[... read more]cause it's their name. As far as the staff on the property very nice from the guests service check-in to the restaurants the bar big up to Delroy very nice young man was always smiling always happy watching your drinks. As always the entertainment needs work. We had no issues with the staff the housekeepers the people who are serving everyone was friendly polite even the groundsman the weather was not good at that time for us but we made the best out of it with what we had to work with thank you Natalie appreciate your help with this from trip Central

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great resort / wonderful time / just one issue
My family and I just got back from this wonderful resort. We loved it! I have 2 teenaged girls. The beach was incredible, food was good, evening activities on point, and the staff were lovely. Nothing to complain about - except:
when we checked-in we were told that the restaurants were fully booked for the next 3 nights. We were only there for 6 nights, so this meant eating at the buffet ALOT! The buffet was good, but part of the fun is going to the restaurants on a resort and we found [... read more]this annoying. When we spoke to management about this they told us the restaurants were small and acknowledged that this was an issue guests often faced. The resort needs to fix this.
Overall wonderful experience though.

Secrets Wild Orchid: Not a "wow" factor
The people that worked at the resort were mostly friendly. There were no "wow" factor when we got there, especially being over Christmas and New Year. No one new nor did their website know which and what restaurant were open and when. For Christmas and New Year, they wanted you to buy a bottle of wine, which was running at over $200 US to have dinner at one of the 2 open restaurants. The buffet was open for those two evenings, however, the buffet was never open for dinner, only for breakfast[... read more] until 11 am, then lunch started at 12:30. In the meantime, only one other restaurant was open for lunch. However, it was always marked as closed on their QR scanned code. For New Year's eve, there was a special event, however, no one spoke about it and once we found out in the evening, the cost to enter was over $700 US. Outrageous. Towels on chairs to reserve.... people would grab 4 towels for 4 chairs by the pool, then grab another 4 towels for the beach area. Well, the beach area is very small and does not accommodate all the people that are at the 3 resorts. I thought this was a small resort, however, the other 2 would come and take loungers and eat at Secrets Wild Orchid. The beach is rocky. The pool plastic glasses were rewashed by hand in dirty water. The music was played over and over the same tunes. The entertainment was held by the employees. I would have thought for the price this resort was for, the entertainment would have been professional but not. It wasn't what we expected for the price we paid. Someone in their room close to ours had a drome flying over everyone, near the pool and over the beach area. We mentioned it to the hotel and they said it was legit in Jamaica. If you google it, it is not unless of certain rules and regulations. I would rate it 3 stars at best.

Breathless Montego Bay: Very disappointed
Let me start by saying I have been to several resorts in Jamaica and this one is not a five star resort. The main portion of the Breathless resort is across the street at their partner resort - Secrets Wild Orchid and St. James
- no poolside service
- rooms are rundown, showers in desperate need of a cleaning
- buildings are tired and in need of paint
- food is very disappointing
- butler service is over rated, with the exception of Travis. Olivia was no where to be found.
Staff seem to [... read more]run the resort as their private party. There was no room on the dance floor as they take over all the night time activities in the lobby. Seem to be their personal party zone.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Absolutely the worst !!!
My husband and I have vacationed in many countries and resorts. This was truly the worst experience we have ever had to endure. We arrived at the Grand Decameron Montego Beach around 6pm, tired and hungry. We were greeted by a less than welcoming front desk employee, given our keys and a pamphlet telling us where everything is. No personal information given, no tour, just a man to help with luggage to our room. Following this we had to find where the buffet was, so we could have supper. Our ro[... read more]om was adjacent to the pool and the swim up bar, which turned out to be the worst spot, as the entertainment guy was so loud over his loudspeaker that we often had to go into our room to converse, as we had to yell at each other to be heard. Complaints to the front desk went unheard, and it continued thru out our 2 weeks there. A very surly front desk person told my husband " move or get use to it". We were advised by other guests to not move, as they received a room so full of mold, their daughter was unable to remain there due to her asthma.
The internet display of this hotel states there were 4 A La cart restaurants, there is only ONE, with a very limited menu. They also say they have a spa.... but the hot tub didn't work. The crushed ice machines didn't work in 2 of the 3 bars, so your drink options were limited. On day 3 of our "vacation" a woman overdosed by the pool, requiring medical attention. For this I give the resort nurse kudos, as she did an excellent job giving CPR and using the ECD.
By day three, we had not had any room service. Once again, I had to walk to the front desk and complain. Eventually that day we did get someone to come, and left us ONE bath towel for the two of us. The next day , out of complete frustration with the guest services person, I walked over to the other Decameron so I could speak to the Sunwing rep. It was her day off, but the front desk staff called her at home. I explained our frustration, breaking down in tears. ( I had to walk over to the other decameron, as we still didn't have a phone in our room after 4 days) The manager for that building heard me on the phone and asked to talk to me following my call. The sunwing rep was not helpful. He took me back to our resort in a cab, spoke to the entertainment people to turn down the music, got us towels, and told us to call the front desk if the entertainment people increased the volume. This was much appreciated, especially the cab ride, because I am only able to walk short distances due to medical reasons. Calling the front desk was ineffective after he left, and as stated before, we were told to move or get use to it.
The Buffet needs to be addressed also..... The food was bland, and often the steam tables were empty after only a sort time that you signed into the buffet with your room number and your name, which we found weird at best. Christmas was a disappointment, with nothing special, other than some Christmas carols playing in the lobby. They did serve turkey on Christmas eve, but the vegetables were all gone, and there were tiny roast potatoes. No glasses for juice, and we finished our meal before anyone gave us water. This was a common problem in the buffet, and was always met with " we are short staffed". The was a gentleman that went around inspecting, everything, admonishing the serving staff in front of all the guests. Very uncomfortable for everyone, I'm sure.
There is no Sunwing rep or any other rep at this resort. You have to go to the other Decameron for any assistance.
I really did have to give myself a week to stop being so angry and disappointed to write this. Everyday was tears, everyday it was something else not working (hot water ) (door lock) we couldn't wait to come home. I did try with sunwing to come home early, but there was no availability other than the flight we were already book on. When at the airport a young man that helped me with wheelchair transfer to our gate informed me that this hotel had recently been on strike. Not surprising.

Breathless Montego Bay: Disappointing not a 5 star
The hotel needs a refresh. The service was poor. There was not any pool side service and the entertainment was disappointing. It consisted of staff dancing with themselves. The only day we received service was on New Year’s Eve given management was present. I would recommend to management that they stay at this resort and experience first hand the service they receive and adjust accordingly. We also had to buy expensive wine if we wanted to participate in the fire show or reserve a seat at the r[... read more]ooftop restaurant for New Year’s Eve. These sentiments were shared by many guests from different parts of the world who travel to 5 star resorts.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Grand Palladium
I do not think a resort is my style. There was a lot of walking, which at my age is not always a good idea. I had a private pool which I did not use, because the water was cold and there was no sun on my side of the building. I got tired of the buffets, not much for a fussy eater. I did not feel welcome at the resort, there is so many people that I am just another face in the crowd, and after spending the money I did, I wanted to feel special and that there would always be someone there to t[... read more]ake care of my needs. I wanted to feel like a queen. I am thankful for the time I spent here, but I would not stay at a resort again. I am planning another trip to JA, but at my place.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing resort
We stayed on th3 grand side (friends on the luxury side). Scheduling an al carte dinner was very challenging for us (luxury no problems) an trying to schedule together we were told can't happen (by the grand side) luxury side offered to help, but there were no openings. All that to say, the buffet was never disappointing, so we didn't feel like we were missing out. Different theme every night for dinner and everything was delicious! We went to the buffet for breakfast and lunch at the round isla[... read more]nd (near the jerk hut). We found it not as busy and food was just as good (sometimes better ;) )
Beaches were amazing! 2e walked to the farthest part and there was always enough shade, sun, chairs and the snorkeling was great. Our son, was in the water for hours!
Rooms were great. House keeping was wonderful and there was nothing we found we needed. If you're considering booking, do it. It's an absolute wonderful.spot.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Many amenities and restaurants
Their are many restaurants to choose from provided you are a party of four or less people. The food was excellent except the buffet, it was just okay. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The housekeeping staff are top notch. Appreciated the coffee bar, excellent coffee and pastries. The wait staff in the Al a carte restaurants were great. The spa is amazing. Front desk staff were very helpful. Guest services was difficult to reach at times and not enough staff. The views are truly bre[... read more]athtaking on the beach and quieter area if your not into the crowds in the pool areas. Quite a few shops at the hotel, convenient. Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall: Pretty good resort
Beautiful inside the lobby at the Ziva. A little dated on the outside which was being scraped and painted while we were there. The grounds were being worked on also. I love that the landscape was natural.
Our section of the Zilara was very dated and needed a little loving care. The room was very clean. Housekeeping was wonderful and the fridge was stocked and snacks provided every day.
Most of the staff were friendly. Some didn't seem too happy to be working there.
The food was [... read more]excellent at all a la cartes as well as the buffet where there was so much to chose from.
I would put this hotel as a 4, not a 5,just because it needs some tender loving care.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Nothing to write home about
If you have not been to an all inclusive before then this place may not disappoint. However, if you have previous experiences of an inclusive then you may be disappointed - limited beach, sub par nightly entertainment, and staff willingness to support while on vacation is sub par. Also, important to be aware that locals are able to purchase day passes to access the resort and they lack the social awareness and were very rude to other guests in the resort. Do research before going on any excursio[... read more]ns as well. Some may not be worth the cost or your day.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Not What I Remember
I was here back in 2017 and while the food was ok it doesn’t hold up against the Riu chains.
Beaches were decent with the exception of whatever kept “bumping” us in the water. Didn’t hurt just kind of startled you. Locals said it was baby stingrays. But didn’t see them
Room appeared clean and nice but infested with cockroaches. They sprayed for us but within 4 days they were back again. This made living in the room and packing up extremely concerning.

Riu Montego Bay: Best time
We had 6 people in our travel party to celebrate two 60th birthdays. All of us had a fantastic stay with no complaints. The food including the buffet was top notch. Going into the water at the beach was a bit of a challenge as there were many large pot hole type drop offs every few feet when walking in the water. There are no golf carts to bring you around the resort so expect to get your steps in which actually pays off since the food and drinks is so good. The night entertainment was very ente[... read more]rtaining with a large variety of talent. All the staff were very friendly and accomidating. We would definitely visit this resort again.

The resort is very family or adult friendly. There was great entertainment for all ages. The children pool for our 2 yr old granddaughter was perfect with appropriate water slides and entertainment. The large waterslide park was great for the older kids in our group. OK maybe I was in their too.lol

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: So so resort
The staff tries their best to give their guests the best experience. The food was good, however it was very repetitive. Going to Jamaica, you’d expect more traditional cuisine than there was North American cuisine. I found that very disappointing. Also, accessibility for elderly or disabled could be a bit challenging to navigate around. There is a lot of steps and bridges around the pool area. There could have definitely been more entertainment in the evenings without having to go to the neighbo[... read more]uring Grand Bahia which was much more vibrant and entertaining. I didn’t expect the Luxury to be a seniors home… the facade is also crumbling. Some much needed repairs and renovations would be necessary to keep clients coming back as there are many resorts along Montego Bay. There is absolutely no beach at all on the Luxury side. A 10 min walk would need to be made to access the beach on The neighbouring Grand Bahia. I’d give this resort a 6.5 out of 10 and that’s mainly bc of the bar staff and restaurant workers.

Princess Senses the Mangrove: Out of this world!!
We just came back from what I can only describe as the true heaven on earth, not only does this resort have all the amenities you can imagine, but the staff here are like the family you never had! We didn’t want to leave by the end, and we’re already planning our next visit…
I don’t know where to begin, let’s start with the food: AMAZING! I only wish we had more time to try everything, one week is simply not enough at this resort (and we didn’t even waste a minute outside on excursions). We p[... read more]robably tried every breakfast buffet, you can get drinks everywhere you go, and the dining options are most exquisite, you just can’t go wrong. Our preferred breakfast buffet was the Platinum Club at the top, as for lunch, we had it on the beach courtesy of our butlers (Pierre and Questos) and dinner is simply the cherry on top, the mouthwatering experience alone will make you wanna come back for more.
The beach: MAGNIFICENT! The semicircular beach here is very secluded, unlike other resorts, no one is trying to sell you antiques or weed here, the only thing that could possibly disturb your beach nap is your inner cravings for more food.
The rooms: every room in this resort is ocean facing, the resort is uniquely designed to accommodate the very best options for every guest, it’s so spacious, clean, and cozy at the same time.
The Platinum Club: the luxury option at the heart of this experience, and if you’re debating whether it’s worth the extra cost, it definitely was! We were assigned to Pierre and Questos who went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable, those two gave us a royalty treatment like no other… Let’s go grab lunch, a minute later, Pierre appears with a lunch tray filled with everything your heart desires, I’m craving cornflakes, super Questos knocks on the door with my favorite choices, every minute of everyday they were one step ahead of us, and the beauty of it is that we didn’t even ask! Those guys reawakened my inner child, where you always get what you want!
The Family: It’s true what they say about Jamaica « No problem, only situation »… everyone’s happy and they all work together to make you feel like you belong. From the moment you show up, you are welcomed home. We’ve never met so many happy people at the same time in our lives, but aside from our butlers, we wanna thank Carline, Jenoy and Tashana from the Platinum club, Chuddian from the coffee shop, Garry from the gym, chef Oshaine, Romain, and Deneil from Robet’s flame steakhouse, that meal was insanely good, but I never expected to fall in love with the dessert that comes after more than a piece of steak. Chef Carlington from the Teppanyaki place gave us the most delicious food show in Jamaican style, I’ve never had Teppanyaki before, it was love at first sight! And if you wanna spend a night like no other go to the Blue Note Piano bar at 8:00PM, you’ll meet Wadworth, the sweetest bartender in Jamaica, and if you’re lucky you might cross paths with the greatest Pianist/Musician you’ll ever encounter, Jae javauhm, I honestly don’t know how he’s not international yet! This guy is gonna become Jamaica’s next hit, don’t miss his show!
There’s just so many people that we cannot do them justice by one review, there was not one person that we met who didn’t go above and beyond for us, so thank you all. This place is just another luxurious resort, but only with the amazing family there it becomes JAMAZING!!
We just wanna go live there!
