Iberostar Selection Cancun: Great vacation

Nice hotel Clean hotel . Room was very clean food was ok beach you could not walk or swim due to coral and rocks Drink selection could be better Great staff very helpful I have been three times I will not be back due to the poor upkeep of hotel . Very dated

NYX Hotel Cancun: Lovely Resort

We booked a Master Suite to get a glass railing on our balcony and are glad we did. The hoterl is lovely and well kept. Maintenance crews are always working to keep things ship shape. The location is great being close to the Isla Mall. The staff are very friendly always ready to help. The cleaning lady was the best, always having our room cleaned and made up while we were down for breakfast. The food is amazing, especially the Italian and Japanese restaurants. The only issue I had was at the spa [... read more] where I tried their Thermal cycling treatment which consists of a warm rain shower, a steam room and a cold shower. The problem was, the steam room runs at over 200 F so after a couple of minutes, I felt unwell and came close to passing out. I guess the other thing to note is the large amount of stairs in the hotel that you have to navigate to get anywhere you are going. Fine for the younger crowd but not so good when you are 70! But all in all, we loved our stay....in spite of the storm that kept us off the beach for our entire week, but that isn't the fault of the hotel.

GR Solaris Caribe Adults Only: Beautiful

I have returned to the GR several times to meet up with friends and enjoy a vacation. My husband and I found the GR on our first vacation several years back and have been coming back to meet up with friends and to enjoy. He has long past sense but I keep coming back for the memories. The hotel itself is beautiful the staff I cannot say enough about them. They are wonderful. There’s nothing I do not like about the GR. Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Beautiful resort

Grounds were well kept. All amenities were spaced out and easily accessible. We were Star Class guests, Service at the pools and restaurants was good but the ala cart restaurants under performed in quality and experience. Daily room service was very inconsistent with standards not met. Daily follow up required to meet those standards ie: towels, fridge restocking, bathroom set up etc. Overall a very nice resort with a beautiful beach but more attention to the service in the rooms is needed.

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Beautiful Resort

The resort it self is beautiful and clean. Unfortunately our Star class Entourage Suite was not acceptable upon our arrival. It smelled of mould and mildew and the bed was wet and it was quite a hassle to get our room changed. The Star Class front desk told us it was the humidity but our family was in 3 other rooms that did not have that issue. Our encounter with Denise at the Star class front desk was unpleasant and unsatisfactory. Our new room was perfect, no “humidity “ issues.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Wonderful staff

The staff at this resort are wonderful and a very special thank you to Moises at the circular pool for being so kind and friendly and cheerful every day! The entertainment was also excellent with a very professional show and dinner at the dinner theatre and also a great burlesque show in Moons cabaret. The beach is nice and great for walking. The resort itself is just OK and doesn’t feel very welcoming. There is construction next door which will wake you up early if you are in building 2. Th [... read more]ey don’t seem to make an effort not to use these rooms unless needed and wait until you complain to move you even when there are quiet rooms unoccupied. The rooms are showing their wear and the towels are getting ragged. They do have beautiful balconies with spa tubs though which are very nice. The food is OK but disappointing at times and not always hot. This has not been one of our favourite resorts so unfortunately we would not return or recommend it to our friends.

Moon Palace The Grand Cancun: Great resort but VERY big

Overall, positive impression. Not sure if we would return because it was just way too big. We prefer a cozier vibe. There were shuttles and shuttle routes throughout, but it was not easy to "run back to the room" if we happened to forget something while out at dinner in the lobby area.

Grand Oasis Cancun: Don’t go!

As you know my partner and I just returned from the Grand oasis, Cancun. From the departure to the arrival. It was complete garbage. We were unable to sit next to each other. Getting to cancun international was another 3 hour fiasco. Our luggage and lines were overwhelming. Upon arriving, it was desk after desk before anyone knew who we were. Getting there so late in the evening we basically lost a day of our trip. The next 5 days were disastrous rain and cold. The rain prevented us from even be [... read more]ing able to leave room as the hotel was flooding from every direction. Nobody could guide us as to what to do when our actual room was filling with water. Our room fridge was without water or beverage. We made countless, countless calls to front desk regarding the situation as the entire resort was too wet to walk anywhere. And the same answer from their end was carried on throughout the 7 days “we don’t have that information “ we reached out many times to the Sunwing rep and the same answer “we don’t have the information, we will put in a request for you.” Our blue wristbands were so limited that we felt we were just defeated and stuck to one place. Every day at any hour the line ups and nowhere to sit while we waited left us starving daily. The lines for drinks and the poor service at the buffets or anywhere for that matter was a huge upset. Nobody seemed to want to look after us unless we were Mexican. The entertainment was canceled many nights due to rain. And even then while heading downtown from hotel, the taxi rates changed daily. We were totally ripped off. On day it was $300 pesos to go downtown the next day it was $200 pesos. And this happened everywhere. When we actually did get into the restaurant. We were never ever ever served by a server. And when we would go up to get food, someone else would be sitting in our seats. And there would be nowhere at all for us to sit. We ended up having to buy all of our own booze as we couldn’t stand for longer than 45min at a time any longer. And also going away from resort to get food. Nothing at the day snack bar was labeled. And it seemed that we just couldn’t get a decent meal anywhere. On the last 2 days the sun came out. For 20 min. At this point our entire beach was washed away. Tiki huts, lifeguard stands and all. And it was all blocked off and we couldn’t access the beach from anywhere else. The amount of randoms coming basically to our room to sell us “vapes and drugs” was disgusting. Where was the security?!!!! We felt so unsafe and completely harassed. All we wanted to do was leave. When we got on the shuttle to go home. We both started feeling car sick due to all The stops the bus made from other resorts. We had to get off and take our own taxi. Upon boarding, we couldn’t sit together again!!!! And sat on the tarmac for over an hour. No apology. Nothing. When in flight, the smell of vomit was overwhelming. From the 15 people on board that were puking!! Arriving into Canada was horrendous as it was another 1.5 hours waiting for luggage. Now that we are home my partner Ryan has a full body rash and the dr has told us it has come from the sheets from the hotel.. we are so disgusted by this trip and the lack of service or care. Never ever ever again. We are looking for some compensation as it’s heart breaking how much extra money we spent at a fake all inclusive resort! Please reach out to us.. we have nothing but horrors left in our hearts from this trip..

Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton: Great resort if you have kids

This is a resort full of lots to do for kids, water park, lazy river & activities. But beware that a lot of things are at an extra charge! (Trampoline, mini putt, wave rider, etc). I was travelling with a group that had kids, but no kids of my own therefore I looked at the resort through adult eyes. Food at buffet was ok, not great and drinks were decent but not amazing. Just felt like  [... read more]everything was a bit of a money grab, lots of ‘add ons’ and ‘extras’ available but it will cost you -be sure to ask the price before you upgrade your steak for example- $90 USD for a ribeye instead of the strip steak that was actually on the menu. Beach is very nice & not too far from airport. Personally wouldn’t go back, want to feel like I’m in Mexico, felt more like a theme park in Florida. Lastly, didn’t know until we got there that the huge swim up bar & 1 restaurant were closed for renos while we were there, so really brought down service at the main pool.

Riu Dunamar: Riu Dunamar is exceptional

The hotel grounds were immaculate and cleaned numerous times daily. It was unbelievably clean. The beach is fantastic, no seaweed, very very nice, soft sand. The hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were very clean and well stocked. The food was also very good and had something for everyone. It's about 25 minutes north of Cancun Airport, so taxi's or Uber's are needed to get to activities inside Cancun city. Its very close to Isla Mujeres for any snorkeling adventures or day trips. Riu Duna [... read more]mar had nightly entertainment for all ages. There are several pools and the Spa inside the hotel has a hot tub available for adults. 4.5/5 is my rating. Was quite happy with it. We had a party of 13 and everyone left happy.

Occidental Tucancun: not what i hoped for

The hotel room was great, employees were pushy trying to sell time share(or as they call it holiday package). The food was the same all the time and only warm at best whether you got there at opening or later. Had to ask 2nd evening to get our room cleaned and only one towel left after they clean.

Occidental Tucancun: Not all that great

The room was beautiful and clean. Most of the waiters were great the waitress were lacking. They could only bring one coffee then ignored you for the rest of the meal. The food was the worst I have ever had. It was mostly cold and always the same. We had bacon only once in 7 days and it was burnt. If people are looking for decent meals pass by this place. Definitely not worth the cost or time.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Awesome resort

Have been to this resort 3 times now. Great resort. We always get the upgrade to the crown club rooms adults only Food in ala cartes is great with the exception of the seafood restaurant. Was dissatisfied with that one. Buffet is good. Always found something Resort is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly, rooms are good Lots of kids activities if in to that

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Very clean resort

This is a great resort. Staff is amazing. The resort is very well maintained. And the rooms are very spacious. There seemed to be alot of young children. It was not easy to book the ala carts. And the buffet food was not very warm.

Hotel Dos Playas Faranda: Amazing Resort

The staff was amazing. Rooms clean and comfortable. Very nice pool. Loved the pizza snack bar and the Mexican restaurant does an amazing breakfast. The resort is just the right size for anyone that has mobility issues. I would go back

This resort is a busy and happening resort. There are over 1000 rooms and while we were there they were at capacity. The beach is beautiful! The sand is so soft and white, we were able to find chairs everyday and spent almost all of our mornings on the beach. The pool is great, large enough for everyone, islands or lillypads for the kids to take a break and lots of action happening, foam party, obstacle course. Kids pool was great for the kids and great for my wife and I to relax in the sun. Well serviced for drinks and Guy Ferrari burger joint right there. We ate at almost all of the a-la-carte restaurants and had little to no problem booking them through the app 2-3 days in advance. Food was great, highlights for me were the habachi and the steak house. New York strip was a great steak! Buffet was also great food with many options although, got busy at times with big line ups. Food overall was top notch. Our waiter for breakfast and lunch was Sergio, if you get the chance to sit in his section he is calm, cool and collected with a steady service without bothering you. He’s the best! Last the rooms, they were dated and need an upgrade. They were clean but did have a bit of a musty/humidity to them. Also, they advertise that they are queen beds, they are NOT they are doubles. Overall good place for our young 4&8 year old family.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Buffet food was very ordinary

Imagine waiting 45 minutes in the morning everyday for breakfast. After the wait each day we would be asked for room number, allergies (all this can be done one time) and then wait for some more time for a server to come and take you to an empty table. Never had this experience in Mexico or the Carribean at any of the resorts. Buffet food is very ordinary and the same food was available everyday, sometimes recycled during lunch or dinner. Despite informing the reception, no proper action was taken or feedback from a manager was given to us.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: nice but not a 5 star

Riu's are predictable for a comfortable vacation. Should not have palace statis. Staff and food is always good. Has a great beach where you can walk for miles. Once a 5 star I believe it is in need of some upgrading. Costa Mujeres feels cold with its pure white artless hallways, almost hospital like. Clean, but basic rooms. But all in all its always a good time at a Riu

Riu Dunamar: Great Resort

Great experience. The resort was very clean. The rooms were cleaned everyday. The staff were always available to assist. The resort offered everything one is looking for in a holiday. I would recommend to a family with children. The pools and splash pads entertained everyone.

Grand Oasis Cancun: OASIS IS NOT GRAND!!

We went to find rest and relaxation and hopefully enjoy a stress free week of CHILL VIBES, but what we got instead was a less than grand experience. Day 1, we me(male) and my female cousin were booked in a king bed even though I asked for a double room. The front desk were not friendly, I should have known then that this was going to be a bad stay. He provided a room with two beds, but we walked into what I call a 1 star room and here is the list; DIRTY, BATHROOM WAS NOT CLEANED VERY [... read more] WELL, NO COFFEE MAKER, NOTHING IN MINI BAR, NO BEACH TOWELS , no garden view, AND THE A/C WAS NOT WORKING. All the things on the list were promised in the booking. We left it for the night, but after a restless sleep because we were both hot my cousin said we will go later to the concierge. Day 2:Towel lady told us to go for a walk as it towels were coming at 9am, it was 905a, because she was busy talking to some old man who seemed like he was trying to date her. They told us 4 times to go away, it was already 910am, we stayed and waited . We asked two employees where lunch was and they said, too far 1 mile then started laughing, so no lunch on this day. eat. My cousin went to concierge to get room changed, at first they were just going to put in order to fix the A/C , but we said no and they gave us a king room. Room good accept it smelled like sewer the bathroom and looked like it was in the middle of a repair. It was not a very clean room and the mirror had something written on it, like someone gave up trying to clean off lipstick. The tub was nasty. We were done at that point and we're not chancing getting a dirtier room. There was two restaurants for supper and one was better than the other, but the restaurant closer to the Pyramid was much cleaner, and better food. All staff seemed unhappy, and if you were not Caucasian u were seated far from the food. The first night when the server asked if we wanted drinks, we both said pop, and they said no, You can get yourself. That was pretty much our treatment all week. We are native Americans from Canada and we were treated horrible. The saving grace was we were treated good at the coffee and me place, so I loved coffee even more this week. This place caters to the Pyramid guest, who paid about $150CAD more than we did. This was not what I expected when we paid $1889 CAD. For this trip. The grounds were pretty dirty. It was not a great overall experience. I would demand a refund if I paid directly to the resort, as I came home jaded.
