Melia Internacional: Amazing Resort

We stayed at Meliá Internacional Varadero as a family and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The resort is modern, spacious, and very well maintained, with a great layout that makes it easy to enjoy everything it has to offer. The pools were fantastic and suitable for all ages, and the beach was absolutely beautiful — clean, wide, and with crystal-clear water that Varadero is known for. The restaurants were well organized, and the service across the resort was consistently friendly and welcoming. The staff truly made a difference and helped make our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of, and the overall atmosphere of the resort struck a perfect balance between relaxation and family-friendly activities. There was always something to do, but it never felt loud or overwhelming. Overall, we loved everything the resort had to offer and would absolutely return. We highly recommend Meliá Internacional Varadero for families looking for a memorable and enjoyable vacation in Cuba.

Grand Memories Varadero: So so resort

The hotel pretends to be five star.On arrival they asked us to pay extra money to upgrade the room.The upgraded room was just good enough.It had cockroaches.When we complained,they refunded us the money.

Paradisus Varadero: Beautiful and peaceful resort!

We had an amazing experience at the royal service at the Paradisus hotel. The room is a bit dated however the whirlpool tub outdoor Bali shower and the enormous king bed totally blew me away! The bed totally comfortable and the pillows as well We did experience a few hiccups however as the rain flooded part of our bathroom as well as our sitting area couple of times. Our room was well kept the extra attention was extraordinary!!! Our restaurant was the best place to eat in the whole resort! we soon realized it was the best option available and so we decided to eat there and only there for the rest of our stay . The staff, Viviana Gabriella Laura and many others gave us exceptional service every time ! Always a smile laughing and engaging with the guests so much so they soon felt like family !! Our butlers Oswaldo and Alex always making sure our every desire was met to the best of their ability!!! Alex even brought some supplies from his home to try and stop the rain from entering our bathroom and attempted to repair it himself!! We were offered a room change however we realized other guests were experiencing similar issues and since we only had 2 days left we decided to keep our room which had a phenomenal view of the ocean !!! Our pool area was very tranquil at the royal service and always had plenty of deck chairs Bali beds and fresh towels ! Our pool bartender Jorge also exceptional and made the best cocktails we ever had !!! You never had to move your deck bed on your own, there was the pool man who always offered to move your chair bed and table and would offer to open or move the umbrella to shade you if you so desired!! Total luxury and always smiling friendly staff who went way beyond to make sure your every need was met!!! Finally we booked a private tour to Havana with Roberto which absolutely was the cherry on top of the cake !!! He was extremely knowledgeable and provided us with a wealth of information !!! He was so gracious and made sure we were happy the whole tour!! He gave us ample time to take pictures ask questions and stop to shop for souvenirs along the way ! He brought us to a beautiful outdoor restaurant with music dancing and amazing menu!! Wow what an experience all this and we were driven around in his gorgeous 57 Chevy!!! We would definitely visit Cuba again and now we will only go to the Paradisus in Varadero as our Cuban family eagerly awaits our return!!! We also miss them all so very much !!!

Starfish Varadero: Very disappointing resort overall

Every day we experienced something wrong at this resort. No towels or safe working in our rooms the first night. The toilet ran all night. The bed was very uncomfortable, was like a bunk bed mattress. When we asked to upgrade we were sent to a room with mould and a brown tub. So I guess we would want to go back to our first room ! Games played ! Then we were told at reception, that we could upgrade if we paid cash in American dollars ( because the visa wasn’t working ). Finally we were offered an upgrade with a discount in Canadian dollars for a bungalow( after lengthy conversations with sunwing and client services ). We finally get to our bungalows and my friend’s lock does not work at all so she put a couch against the door ! The next day her air conditioned was leaking and she had cockroaches in her room. My card for my room had to be replaced 6 times because it didn’t work. Then, finally my lock had to be totally replaced too! No ice and out of hot dogs at the snack bar. Dance teachers were not motivating at all. Many staff members were friendly in the buffet area and a la cartes and bars. Beach is beautiful but stay away from this resort. Worst vacation of my life ! Couldn’t wait to get home !

Valentin Perla Blanca: I would gladly return for another vacation here!

Wonderful time even though there were only just over 100 guest. Had a front row seat on the beach with the beach bar and entertainment in the evening. Food was better than I expected but the staff make this resort. Very hard working people that want to make sure you have everything you need. Beautiful Beach. Not everything is open and running 100% it was difficult to get an al a carte, all booked up as there is only 1 restaurant functioning as an a al carte and it's changed to Italian one night  [... read more]and then Spanish the next and so on. Tourism is down in cuba and it's so sad to not see the resorts full, on the plus side it was very very nice to not wait in line ups for the buffet and have my preferred spot by the pool or on the beach everyday. The employees are so so grateful for anything you give them. Bring Canadian or US currency and if you can make room in your luggage for extra soaps, razors, medicine/bandaids, colouring books, school supplies, clothes, dry food items, chocolates, these items are greatly appreciated.

Food (with full expectation for Cuba limited food choices based on multiple Cuba trips) was completely unbearable. If planning diet/weight loosing trip than it is right place. It looks like Melia managment chooses which weeks to provide normal food and which are bare minimum to survive. Beside the food, great hotel/beach/fellow tourists/service

Melia Las Americas: Second trip to the Melia Las Americas

This was our second time to this hotel. Big difference between the first time pre-Covid and now. The first time we stayed in the main hotel and the second time we upgraded to the level. We thought the upgrade to the level was a good idea however, if you can’t afford it, you’ll be perfectly fine in the main building as well. The beach here is honestly one of the best… Can’t beat it and the close proximity to the golf course. The course is not the greatest but for a vacation course it’s a lot of f [... read more]un and affordable. As far as the rest goes, the food is hit or miss, Lemoncello is probably the best restaurant. Drinks are sometimes good and sometimes not so good. (They have switched from serving fresh coffee with milk in the mornings to a machine. I used this for some latte and the milk must’ve been bad because I was very sick for two days). Being part of the level gives you premium drink options so if that’s important to you it’s another thing to consider. Pools are great, staff are great and our only other issue was with our room. The shower was terrible. The rain shower overhead was so rusted and full of calcium that only a quarter of the holes were open to take water from and every time we use the shower Because it was not built correctly, the floor in our bathroom would also be flooded. So we always had to have towels rolled up right by the shower door so the water wouldn’t extend too far in. Why in the world a hotel like this wouldn’t fix such an issue is beyond me but Cuba overall is struggling… To avoid making this post too long, I will not be returning to Cuba For many other reasons.

Brisas Guardalavaca: The place to relax

Brisas Guardalavacca Many good memories here!! December 2025 was my 7th time So many things l love about this resort. It needs some renovations and fixing but for the most part the people working here are all lovely. All it takes is a little personal interest and they will do their best to serve and help you. I have been to Cuba many times. And this is my second time at this hotel, and I will return. No complaints. Just a good time. Staff was fantastic. Food was a good Cuban standard. Drinks always great.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Playa Cayo Santa Maria

Rooms are clean and staff is very friendly and welcoming. Service is very good and entertainment is fun. There are plenty of food/drink choices which are available to you all day and night. The beach and pools are beautiful and I enjoy my time there every time I go!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Can't wait to return!

Beautiful gardens, clean rooms, friendly people. Food was good, there is always something even for picky eaters there's the snack bar which has the best chicken sandwiches and sweet potato fries. The piña coladas in the lobby are always amazing, and the atmosphere is friendy and relaxing. Family had an amazing time and we can't wait to return!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Repeater and SO Disappointed!!

My wife and I stayed at this resort in October 2024 and were so impressed that we decided to return for a second visit. Unfortunately, our recent experience was very different and did not reflect the quality of our previous stay. This resort is not operating at the same standard as it did last year. Whether due to changes in management, current conditions in Cuba, or resource limitations, the overall experience was disappointing. I have stayed at 2.5-star resorts more than 20 times over the pas [... read more]t 25 years and have never previously felt compelled to complain about food quality. However, during this stay, the food was extremely difficult to tolerate. There was no fresh fruit available other than cucumbers, no fresh vegetables, and most food was either canned or heavily prepared with mayonnaise. Housekeeping was also an issue. On the third day of our stay, the chambermaid removed our waste paper bin and did not replace an empty roll of toilet paper. I went to the front desk and politely requested a replacement. I was informed that housekeeping would be contacted; however, it took approximately a day and a half for toilet paper to be delivered. During this time, we were forced to use serviettes taken from the kitchen. I do not take writing negative reviews lightly, and I have never spoken poorly of any vacation I have had in Cuba. That said, this experience was both disappointing and unacceptable compared to our previous visit.

Club Amigo Ancon: Great Time!! Great Hotel.

no complaints, food was fine, A/C and hot water were readily available. Rooms were clean. Beaches were fantastic. and best of all, it was quiet. The people as always were friendly and helpful. Hotel staff were all amazing!!! Thank You for a great vacation.

Blau Arenal Habana Beach: Base Resort

It’s my third time in 3 years that I’ve been to this resort. Each time has been poorer when it comes to food. This last time, they rationed the meat and gave you the feeling of begging when wanting more. Terrible feeling. The evening meal is from 7:00 until 9:00, and the special part of the meal may last the first hour. So if you show up in the second hour, more often than not you miss that part. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Beach!

The hotel grounds are beautiful and clean. The food at the buffet was good. The a la carte restaurants are really great. Only complaint is our beds were uncomfortable. We asked to have the toilet seat attached and the maintenance never came to fix in the 11 days that we were there. This was our 17th time at this resort.

Music too loud at pool and beach. TV didn't work. I told 2 desk clerks, the maid and main person responsible for resort. Nothing done. Won't go back there. I'm alone and don't sleep much so a TV is good to have

Melia Cayo Coco: Anotherr Great Stay

12 great days with no rain until we were boarding the aircraft made this an even better trip. Having been a regular here for a few years we now are running into other couples who come here regularly because of the people who work here, well kept grounds and the resort as a whole. Hats off to Marco at the 24 hour this trip as he is very polite, quick and pays attention to detail. He is a great addition to the resort and will surely go places.
