Breathless Punta Cana Resort: I didn’t want to leave….

March 5-12, 2026. My first visit to a resort. We were greeted by Alex our concierge, He proved to be amazing and made our trip so relaxing… A daily update on what was available, his hours and we saw him everyday. Next visit I will definitely request Alex. There is so many choices of restaurants… the French restaurant had the best steak.. The donuts in the Strip Grill for breakfast are the best donuts that I have ever had. I would love the brand or recipe..(hint). Unfortunately we had a v [... read more]ery windy week, so we couldn’t go deep sea fishing. The beach is wonderful, I could have just sat enjoying the sound of the waves, pelicans and the people enjoying the waves. No Sargassum, very few people selling on the beach. If you just say no they do not bother you. I would recommend paying the extra for Xhale, the Xhale lounge is amazing and the staff are fabulous. If you have the opportunity to see Sam (singer) at the lounge. He was amazing. The rooms were big, very clean and well taken care. Thank you Manuel.

Playabachata Hotel: Perfect cheap and cheerful resort

Hotel was nice, showing its age but its well maintained and they do there best to bring a solid experience. Food was decent, fresh eggs and donuts every morning. Beach was large and had lots of mature palm trees. Rooms could use some updates, hard to get a spot at the pool and lines can get long for food. Good mix for young or older people. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Nice little resort

Nice spot. Small resort, everything within a short walk. GREAT food at every meal, including the fried chicken at the beach bar. Rooms are adequate. Pool and beach loungers were scarce and some broken.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana: Amazing place

Perfect for families and groups. Large resort with lots of choice for quiet or party areas. Our room overlooked a pool and swim up bar. Not noisy at night. Lots of daily food choices at the buffet restaurant. We also tried a couple of the a la cartes, but the buffet was our favourite. Perfect weather with occasional brief rain showers. In room fridge restocked daily with water, beer and pop. Staff everywhere were friendly.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort!

We stayed in this resort for seven days! It was an amazing experience, and we will be back to this resort for sure. Rooms were clean, and the buffet and restaurants served great food. The staff are friendly and nice. The beach is clean, water is warm. Highly recommended!!!

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Great resort!

My family had a great time at Casa Marina. This was a great resort. It was very clean, had great staff, lots of activities each day, and was great for families. I would definitely recommend Casa Marina to anyone looking to visit the DR.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Nice vacation!

This was approximately our 8th visit to Bahia Principe in Punta Cana. The last 5 times, exclusively to the Aquamarine section. The staff are friendly, courteous, approachable and available. Guest Services in Lobby 2 were very helpful. The rooms are beginning to look a little tired, but were clean and always ready by the time we returned from the beach. The food was good and plentiful. The lunch offered at the beach in the Los Olas building is a let down. Unfortunately, it allows everyone from the entire resort into this space and it is clearly not big enough or staffed well enough to handle the number of people for lunch. Tables were left dirty for long periods of time with no help in sight. I realize the option for us was to walk back to the Aquamarine buffet, but the entire reason for this destination is the beach....where we like to stay the entire day. Years ago, we were allowed to go to the Ambar beach restaurant, but no more. The beach itself is beautiful and well maintained. The section for Aquamarine guests is too small. Towels on loungers at 6 or 7 in the morning are the norm. We often saw too many of these "reserved" seats with nobody at them til late afternoon or only there for an hour or so. Obviously we like this place, but only wish the beach had it's own "adult only" restaurant and more space. Take some from Ambar...their side of the beach is underused.

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Great Resort

The Hotel Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata has well manicured grounds. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was always a large selection of food choices at the buffet. The food at the buffet and Al a cart restaurants were delicious and well presented. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall the resort was amazing. Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Emotions

Overall this was a very nice resort with very friendly staff. We had great weather and enjoyed relaxing by the pool or the beach. Booking for the 3 restaurants is a challenge as the wifi is very weak so made it difficult but the on-site buffet was a good alternative with lots of variety. Hotel rooms are very basic but are clean.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly at Cofresi Palm Beach Resort

The Good: The staff, the two main buffets and some of the ala carte restaurants were alright (not all of the ala carte restaurants were open or available). The small gym was clean and available. We had requested a ground floor room and that's what we got. Our room was cleaned daily. The Bad: There are 160 stairs between the beach and the lobby. We managed, but if you have mobility issues you'll be in trouble. Some of the buildings and walkways are in poor repair. The reception desk staff did no [... read more]t provided any useful assistance even when asked several times. There was a frequent sewage smell. The pools were gross dirty with hair and plastic cups. The only way to get service was to tip the cleaning and maintenance people. The Ugly: Our room was in very poor repair. The furniture was old (armchair was broken, beds were almost unusable, the closet doors were falling apart). The towels and linen were old but clean. The bedsheets were so thin that there were holes in some places (we use stuff like that for rags at the cottage). The pillows were lumpy (I know that sounds like a dumb complaint, but there were really bad). There was no roller in the toilet paper holder, so toilet paper sat stacked on the back of the toilet all the time. The toilet didn't flush properly. The bathtub wouldn't drain for hours after a shower. The shower hose and wand leaked. The sliding door was impossible to open and close. The main door wouldn't close without slamming it (I'm sure our neighbours hated us for it). There was no TV for the first four days and then not one English channel. The room phone was hit and miss. The clock radio didn't work and there was no control for the air conditioner.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana: Beautiful resort with food handling problems

The resort itself is very beautiful and clean. The pools were always clean and inviting. Our room was also very lovely. our problems begin with a severe sickness after eating at the Portofino restaurant. I had shrimp on my Caesar salad and it was very ill the next day.

Secrets Tides Punta Cana: Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!

The saying “You get what you pay for”? Certainly true for our stay at Secrets Tides in Punta Cana DR. Words cannot truly describe how our vacation was….so we’ll repeat what we said at the start,and at the end, of our stay at Secrets…AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!!!!

Emotions by Hodelpa Puerto Plata: Great smaller resort!

Loved the size of the resort! Everything was in close proximity. Close to the beach, pool and restaurants. Loved the restraunt sizes. Room could have been better, bathroom door didn't close all the way as well as the shower door, poor lighting in the bathrooms and the sink wouldn't drain. Friendly staff, and great service.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Decent for a cheap vacation

The rooms were very clean but outdated and the food at the à la carts were amazing and not having to make a reservation was even better. We had a little concerns and I know we shouldn’t complain we had to turn the air conditioning off as we were to cold as there was only a sheet and a thin blanket. The shower was hit and miss mostly miss no hot water. The pools were beautiful and so was the wavy beach. The bar staff just worked on robot mode and not interactive it was great they had a drink list. The worst thing for our week was that the pool chairs were reserved at 5 am in the morning and someone wouldn’t show up to later in the afternoon. If I was this resort I would put a stop to this oh and the smoking everywhere is not pleasant.

Dreams Cap Cana Resort and Spa: Mediocre for a five star

Excellent service but the food and entertainment was 3 star tops. No hot water in the first room, second room had a water leak that caused me to slip and fall. Not happy with the lack of concern on the managements part afterwards. Won’t return.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great resort, especially with Royal package!

Stayed at the Gran Ventana March 24-31 in the Sanoa building room 1342. We upgraded to the Royal package and would definitely recommend. The Vintage Lounge is amazing, the best part of the beach is reserved for those with Premium and Royal upgrades and we enjoy going to à la cartes every night. The beach was extremely clean, some coral in places but you could still get in the water easily. The rooms are basic but clean, food was good, service was good everywhere except at peak times at the buffe [... read more]t was slow as resort was full. The resort is small but this means everything is close. The Beata building feels outside the resort as it is on the other side of the lobby, some people prefer this quieter area but we preferred the Sanoa or Catalina buildings which are closer to the beach and were also quiet unless facing the pool in the daytime. Daily yoga was a bonus, didn’t try other activities. We found most travellers were from Canada, the staff seemed happy to be working there and were always helpful, tips or not. We don’t generally return to resorts but we can see why GV has so many repeat customers and we would consider it for the a future trip!

Playabachata Hotel: Amazing resort

Everything was nicely kept. Very picturesque. All the staff are wonderful. The beach was always cleaned and raked in the morning. We have nothing bad to say about this resort. And the buffet had so many options for food. All the staff work so hard.

Cayo Levantado Resort: A very amazing resort

Everything was perfect. No complaints at all. Very clean hotel and the employees were very polite and friendly. Choices of food and portions were perfect. It was a very relaxing holiday. Hope to do a family vacation next year.

Grand Bavaro Princess: Wonderful resort.

Resort was big but easily accessible, the train ran regularly. Bungalow suites were well appointed and big and the resort was clean. Beach was amazing, soft white sand and seaweed was under control. Food at the à la cartes was good, strongly recommend Samara (Indian) and the beach buffet was good, not a lot of variety but always found something to eat. Had breakfast and lunch at the buffet every day. They were grilling something and making palella every lunch hour on the patio by the beach.The main buffet was good, with lots of variety. The food and bar trucks at the beach were a nice touch. Have no problem recommending this resort to couples and families. We would have no problem returning to this resort. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Great Time!!

We recently stayed here for an annual boys golf trip. We had a great time. Course was in good shape and met our needs, we would go back again for sure. Although the rooms were a bit dated we were not worried as we didn't plan to be there too much. The resort made up for it with great food and better amenities. Lots of different areas to visit and pools to be at if you wanted to have a good time or sit in a quiet area. Please note for the golf, although its 'included' in your trip there was a daily fee for using the carts of $95.00 per person per round.
