Great resort!

Everything is new and clean. The staff work hard to keep it that way. There are some kinks that need to be worked out such as larger glasses at the bar. They only use 4 oz plastic so it is all rum and no mix. Loved the beaches and my room overlooking the pool area.

Pristine resort!

First I must tell you how truly beautiful and clean 'Ocean Vista Azul' is! The staff exceeded our expectations and giving us the best possible service. Our beautiful Oceanfront room over looked the infinity pool and the beautiful ocean. We booked the privileged package and were not disappointed. The specialty restaurants offered attentive service and wonderful food. Also by booking ' privileged' we always had a guaranteed reservation . The aide to order omelettes and waffles station where are favorites . The Buffet also offered made to order grilling stations for steak, chicken, pork, seafood, pasta & pizza! The main pool was beautiful and large however I loved the infinity pool off of the main lobby . There were many options for nightly bars and lounges. Some were more 'party' bars and others offered a A piano bar feel. There were two beach coves to the right and left of the hotel one offering bar service. The other is near the main beach pavilion offering food bar bathroom service . Our room had a Spa like washroom complete with a soaker tub and rainfall showerhead ... Just beautiful. We had a large balcony with a lovely Circular wicker lounge in bed and two wicker chairs and table overlooking the ocean! Boy do I miss that view! Our room also had a very comfortable King size bed, daily stocked fridge and flat screen TV with Canadian and American channels. We just loved this Hotel!

Very good place to stay!

The resort had only been open for about 6 weeks so still a few glitches to be worked out. The rooms were great and the staff was excellent. All the a la carte restaurants weren't open yet but the food on the buffet was good, just need to ensure the food that was supposed to be served hot is hot, steam tables didn't keep the food hot enough. Lighting around the pool area at night seemed inadequate, but maybe they are still planning to add more lighting.

New resort . 30 min from airport varadero ,

New resort , very clean,good service , very good food , sea food every day , pool area very clean , modern furniture , nice people , lots domestic drinks , vip area,flat tv, close to plaza American and 10 min drive on bus to downtown varadero .

Beautiful place

I Loved the infinity pool. The Food was good. The nightly entertainment was exceptional. The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean new spacious with a very large walk in shower. No wifi :(

Wonderful resort

We stayed at this resort from Jan 9-16 our room was fabulous clean and serviced well. Food is average. Pools were cold as they are heated by the sun about 76 deg. Weather was rainy and cloudy all week. Walkways at hotel are very slippery when wet. Entertainment was very good.

Beautiful ocean resort!

Infinity pool was breathtaking. Service from hotel staff is a 10/10. Wonderful rooms with a oceanfront view. Clean and modern design. Bar service was excellent and very accommodating. Buffet just ok! Some flies and repetitive selection of dishes available. The beach was a little far to walk and not as nice as other varadero locations I've stayed at.

Still under construction

When we checked out Dec 19, they were still working day and night. Theater, beach restaurant, coffee place, snack bar by the pool were still not opened. It will be very nice, modern resort once everything is completed.Main swimming pool is very big with a swim up bar, Jacuzzi was opened on the last day. Resort looked empty because only two buildings were occupied so not many people and I liked that. All action was in the lobby so the quality of the shows were not that great. Food is ok, almost n [... read more]o difference between lunch and dinner, quality and variety not like in Mexico or Dominican but no one went away hungry. The hotel is situated on a cliff so you have to walk 5 min to the beach but you have beautiful view of the infinity pool and the ocean when sitting in the lobby. You will be happy with the overall quality of the resort, even if you are picky traveler. I would recommend this resort to a friend to go there in a year or two, Personally, I never go twice to the same resort, there are many other places to go to and experience. We took organized tour to Havana, we were a little disappointed because we only got half an hour of free time, not enough to wander around. If you are a group of four, take private tour in one of their old cars, not much price difference but much better experience. Our dollar is worth less than Cuban Peso so it makes everything more expensive. 1 Peso tip is 1.33 CAD. Overall, we all had a great time

Brand New Resort

The hotel is very nice!! Although it wasn't completely open during our stay, we still had an amazing time! The grounds, pools, restaurants, etc., once completely open/finished, will be BEAUTIFUL! Would LOVE to go there again once it is fully operational
