Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Perfect family vacation

This resort was everything I wanted in our vacation. The staff were all amazing, food was delicious, pools were great and the waterpark was perfect. The resort is a perfect size so that my daughters could go off on their own to the tween club and easily find us even if we had changed pools. it rained 80% of our time there but it didn't make a difference. We sat in the cabanas or by the bar while the kids played in the tween club, pool or waterpark. They never complained until it was time to go.  [... read more]They want to stay for 3 weeks next time. The staff really made the difference here. We felt well taken care of and safe at all times. Can't wait to go back to the Jewel at Runaway Bay!

Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton: Ya Mon! Fantastic Resort!

My husband and I enjoyed this resort immensly! We stayed for a week and experienced the entire resort. The pools were amazing, the beaches we couldn't complain about - the steak was better than the Keg! Our room was nice, we stayed in the Bungalows - the ones with the outdoor shower. The resort is quite big so we did a lot of walking. Some people shuttled from their room to the lobby/main area. We would recommend this resort to a family or a couple. The night entertainement was great and the Casino was fun! We expereienced the Spa and received one of our best massages yet! Also, I couldnt go to Jamaica and not get my hair braided! What an experience! The only damper on our holiday was that it was difficult to get a decaf coffee! Every morning at breakfast,we would ask, most mornings we lucked out and got a decaf, some... we weren't so lucky. Over all, this was a great resort. The people were friendly, the food was amazing, it was very clean, the pools/ocean were awesome! We would definatley recommend this resort to others!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Gorgeous place!

I loved the food! I loved the staff!! I loved the snorkling!! I loved the pool! I loved the kids club!! I loved everything everyday. I would have given it 5 stars if the manager and front desk staff would have helped out with my problems with the air transat staff. I received a bland email with an apology and nothing else. Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites: Great quick getaway from Canadian winter

We travelled to this resort in mid February, 2016, (me, my husband and 26 year old daughter). Our arrangements through Trip Central were all complete and even the customs/immigration process and transfer was quick, efficient and not unpleasant (contrary to the last time we visited Jamaica). The grounds, staff and food were all excellent. The buffet restaurant always had a great selection, sometimes with a theme, with freshly cooked food. The included wine was certainly drinkable, though I wouldn't search it out at home. We only went to two shows. The Jamaican show was great, with the best break dancer I have ever seen, and excellent drummers and acrobats. Do skip the Miss Iberostar show which was embarrassing and degrading. I have a sun sensitivity and much appreciated that it was always possible to find a shaded lounge chair, both on the beach and around the pool. It had been raining a few days before we arrived and our ground floor rooms had a distinct damp feel and mildew smell. I asked if we could move before we unpacked, and was told that it would not be possible for 3-4 days. I quite understand if the resort was full, but felt I was treated in a rather dismissive manner. No one contacted us re our concern, even our Concierge (whose real job was to try to get you to buy into the The Prestige Club). Our only other comment re "room to improve" is that the bathroom, though spacious and clean was poorly ventilated and lit, and had no makeup mirror or soap dish. Do: - tip the staff when you can, especially the housekeepers and gardeners, not just the bartenders, who get plenty of tips. - take plenty of sunscreen - book the Luminous Lagoon tour

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Relax and Enjoy or Party all day!

We enjoyed our stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Runaway Bay so much, we could have stayed a month. The staff was amazing at every turn. Clean,Fun,Entertaining,Great Food,Great Bevies! So much to do or do nothing at all! Would go back in a heartbeat!

Grand Muthu Runaway Bay Club Caribbean: Fabulous, Awesome !!

Wow, not sure where to start, as it was as fabulous. This resort was exactly what I expected from reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and is definitely more than a 3 star. This was our first trip to Jamaica and we were totally impressed. The food was unbelievably delicious, especially the jerk chicken (at the resort and at Scotchies, a must go to restaurant). We liked the idea that you had the option to reserve more than the usual 3 times you see at other resorts. We loved the cottage idea, as we felt like we were camping so to speak. It was more private and less noise associated with a motel style room. The rooms as noted by others are dated, but are kept very clean. Always plenty of clean towels daily. The grounds were beautiful and kept in great shape by the groundskeepers. Wifi reception was great. We were able to access it in our cottage, on the beach, at the buffet, just about anywhere on the resort. Never an issue logging in or out. There are four beach cove areas to choose from, so lots of room to lounge and swim. There was an overabundance of loungers, which I have never seen before. It was nice not having to get up early to snag a lounger. This resort was in close proximity to several excursions and shopping. We did the Dunn's River Falls and Blue Hole and Secret Falls excursions. Both were great, but we enjoyed the Blue Hole and Secret Falls more, as there was more to do (ie. jumping in, rope swing, etc.), more leisure time. The only down side with Dunn's River Falls, is the exit from the park is through lots of vendors, directly through them, no way around, and you really get pestered. I'm all for vendors, but say in a separate section to one side so one can choose to visit them, not be steered directly through their path to exit the park. Because of this I would not return to Dunn's River Falls. There was no problem with this at Blue Hole. Overall this resort is excellent and we are thinking of booking there again next year!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: The resort is beautiful and has great amenities

Wonderful staff, everyone speaks English. On the negative side, avoid room 25101 as it is next to the maintenance room and is very noisy, lots of staff congregating outside your room from early in the morning.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Good low key resort

Resort is clean food is good. You won't get sick. The beach where the nice sand is there's ticks in the water. Where there is no rocks there is no sand just crushed limestone. Nothing to do here. Entertainment non existent so your basically shut down by 10. They have shows but my sons kindagarten class has more talent. If you want to just lie down and waste away for a week it's perfect. Lots of sun you will get an excellent tan.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Amazing Resort

The staff are amazing!! Great food and you will never get bored of the food, so much variety. Room Service was always 20min wait, not bad at all, considering they would always say 30-45mins. Beach activities were always fun.

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall: One of the best

It is just the right size for walks to the restaurant and back to the pool and to your room the grounds are very nice there's not one restaurant that's bad even the jurk chicken on the beach we love the staff they make you feel like friends

Dreams Rose Hall: Great "family" resort

Great resort. Food and beach was excellent. It really is meant for young families though. We are empty nestors and didn't clue into this until we arrived. For young children there is lot's to do including the waterpark which is part of the property. If you are looking for some quiet time without children I would stay away.

Dreams Rose Hall: Simply Amazing

The food and resort layout were amazing. Kids enjoyed the waterpark al week, and so did the parents. The hotel staff were very friendly and the grounds were in great shape. Even with the 2 days of lousy weather, we made the best of it.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: dissapointed gran bahia principe jamaica

the hotel and room was fine, international drinks that were supposed to be included were not the only international drinks was martini , they were lacking fruits, the lobby and other bars closed at 11.00 pm thats only good for under age kids, this was my first stay at Bahia Principe and ill be the last one.

Riu Palace Jamaica: Amazing Vacation-staff top notch

We just returned from this resort Feb 18, 2016. We went with a group of six friends. We can't say enough about the friendly staff, superclean resort; and tasty food! Raquel and Nadie (aka Na-Na) were terrific along with all the other staff. The general manager was always around to address any issues but we could not find one!! Other reviews mentioned the noise of the construction but we could hardly hear it. Don't let that change your mind about going to this resort, it is fabulous!! Sandals Dunn's River: Nice Resort

Beach was small but you could always get a chair. Staff were excellent. Buffet food was all right nothing spectacular. Accommodation was great, the rooms were very nice. The Sunwing brochure said that the hotel was 75 min from Montego Bay airport. It was more like 2.5 hours at the best!

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: great place

We were at the Riu Palace first week of Feb. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was ready upon arrival and clean. On the first day the shower pressure was low but it was repaired by the second day. Buffet offered great variety and good quality food. A la carte dinners,we tried 4, were good but not excellent. Wine on the resort was very good in comparison with other resorts. A big + for us. Beach is clean and no problem to get a chair. Overall a good choice.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Good resort

Beautiful rooms and hotel grounds. Pool area a bit small but who really stays by the pool anyway?! The beach was full of seaweed but I think that was due to weather. Beach service for drinks was fantastic! Friendly, helpful staff! Easy to navigate off resort!

Riu Ocho Rios: Fantastic time!

We very much enjoyed our trip to Jamaica and RIU Ocho Rios. The food was fantastic, the entertainment amazing!!! Always something going on to do or watch. I had the most fun I have ever had at any resort dancing and singing along with the shows. The resort is big enough to go to a different restaurant daily but small enough you don't need a train to take you everywhere. The pools were great the beach amazing! The only yuck was the wine, it was good in the a la cartes but no where else. Long ride from airport to hotel but if you know ahead of time you can't complain :) The only downfall was the smell in the room - not sure if it was musty smell as my clothes still smell after washing. All in all, loved this resort and people!

Dreams Rose Hall: Excellent resort for famalies

We traveled to Jamaica the first week of February 2016 and I had read a lot of mixed reviews about Hilton Rose Hall. The 15 min bus ride from the airport was a big plus but I was not immediately impressed when we entered the hotel and less so when we entered our room. The next morning however we started to realize what a gem this hotel actually is. You will never be without a beach chair, there was numerous areas to set up for the day; the pool central to the hotel was always only half full because you had a small beach down the way and an even bigger beach a small step from that not to mention the Waterpark area. We spent most days at the Waterpark with our 1 and 3 year old. There is tons of current in the pool there but a small shallow area on the one side was perfect for the wee ones. 2 slides, 1 of which you can go down with smaller children, lazy river we did numerous times. We ate lunch most days at the restaurant there. You must book reservations for all restaurants for dinner except the buffet and Moonstone as soon as you can or you won't get in. Buffet was fabulous most days, especially the BBQ nights, never had a problem finding food the kids enjoyed. Resort was full of Canucks and Brits which made for a fun and laid back vacation. Service can be slow especially at breakfast but majority of staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Nightly entertainment was always good and very kid friendly. We tipped a few dollars throughout the day but it never felt expected. Tip * Get your coffee (espresso, latte etc..) or fresh fruit juice from the cafe on the large beach.

Riu Ocho Rios: Second time we have been there so....excellent

pool and beach excellent service from staff in all areas excellent.The area not very good was the evening entertainment Although the staff tried very hard it was below par. The only exceptions were the times they had live reggae bands
