Starfish Jibacoa: Beautiful location .. Mountains and the Beach!!

Property is spread out and huge old trees around. The beach is just AMAZING!! The waters are crystal clear and great fro snorkelling!! The staff at the resort are very helpful and courteous. Alfonso takes care of everything.. so DO NOT book your excursions online - talk to him. Rooms are quite okay but the air conditioning is good and kept clean. Playa Vista Azul: Best introduction to Cuba EVER!

Beautiful view and grounds. Easy to find your way around. Awesome showers and clean rooms. Basic amenities(ie toilet paper) were plentiful. Nice clean beaches with lots of chairs. Snack and drink bars in convenient areas. Coffee bar was busy but was great.

Palma Real: Worst resort of my life

Where to begin... Bedroom: no storage space for your clothes; they don't have enough towels in the hotel so we had to share 1 towel for 3 people for the week, refused to change the linens when my son vomited because their washer was broken, all the elevators are broken yet reception refuses to have someone help you carry your luggage... Pool is broken everywhere, alguae in there... Buffet has very limited choices, no fruits... Some of the waiters refused to fill the water bottle. Not at all beac [... read more]h front, like they said - you have to cross 3 avenidas to get there. Beach guy refused to help us get a lounge chair. Beach is dirty with plastic glasses, bottles, etc everywhere - clearly not cleaned. Waiters in the hotel bars prefer to serve the staff (ie cleaning lady and animation staff) before taking your order. The animation isn't too bad, but they have nothing for the kids, no games, no mini disco. The only fun stuff was the aquatic ballet show.

Paradisus Varadero: Not As Expected

The grounds were beautiful and the food in the a la cartes was quite good. The buffet was ok. Our first room was a disaster eg, no door to the bathroom and no hot water. to name a few issues. When we complained we were quickly moved to a new and much nicer room. We were also given a free massage for our inconvenience which was very nice. We were both covered in bites by the end of our stay. After Bite is a real blessing.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful, beautiful,beautiful

This is our second time at Melia Peninsula Varadero and it never disappoints, its beautifully laid out. Landscaping is outstanding. Beach was amazing. There was a wide variety of foods to satisfy everyone’s taste. My husband and I would go again.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing welcome on our return

We were apprehensive about going back to a place where we hadn’t been for three years. However the treatment we got was like royalty. We were invited to a dinner for repeat diamond guests and served a lobster and steak dinner complete with private entertainment. They asked us to fill out a questionnaire and just about every concern we listed was addressed before we left. We were also treated to a special dinner for diamonds club members as well. We requested close to the beach and got # 31. Perfect location since we spent most of our day at the beach. The thing to remember is that everything else is far away if you have mobility issues which I did. However we loved our location and worked through it. Most of the cart drivers were very accommodating. One of our complaints was the absence of breakfast at the beach grill and within 24 hrs it was up and running again. Probably coincidence.. Our major complaint was the rudeness at the snack bar both during the day and evening. We understood that these people take a lot of abuse from regular users but when we tried using the facility they never had what we requested while catering the same order to others who came in after us. Definitely need improvement there. The cleaning staff was amazing and so was the stall at the beach bar It was just like going back home but with royal treatment Thinking of going back and taking the whole family for a second time; we had taken them all three years ago and they just loved it. We missed Leo but his replacement is the concierge and is a very nice young gentleman who is very caring and was everywhere trying to accommodate everyone with everything. I can’t remember his name but he certainly deserves recognition. Enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Hotel Los Cactus: Great staff...food well prepared and lots of options

Overall would have to assess improvements before returning Not the Hotel it used to be food good staff excellent but some areas need improvement. A la Carte not great..rooms need upgrades..bars close early..no glasses shortage of wine soft drinks..toilets not cleaned regularly..poor entertainment

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Amazing Resort!

Iberostar Tainos is a fabulous hotel, from the moment you arrive you are greeted by smiling staff at the front desk. Guest services, Giselle is the best, she is there to help you and to make sure you are happy and that everything is to your satisfaction. We stayed in the bungalow and it was great, the room was clean, our cleaning lady made sure we had water, and I loved the creative things she made with the towels. The grounds are very well kept, the food was very good, no complaints, there is something for even the picky eater. This is a smaller resort and everyone knew you and treated you like family, that is what we liked the most!!! The beach was to die for, the water crystal clear and warm. We definitely will be coming back to this resort for all the above reasons. I would recommend this resort to those that want that family feeling and to making friends for life. Gracias!!!

Melia Varadero: Wonderful Vacation

The hotel was lovely and our room had a gorgeous view. The bed was so comfortable and our room was cleaned and restocked every day. We really enjoyed the food, the kind and attentive staff and all of the amenities. The hotel was close to the stunning beach and the ocean was breathtaking. We were utterly relaxed and well cared for and are counting the days until we can go back!

Melia Las Antillas: it was one of the best resort in Cuba

it was well organized .staff were very polite and friendly. but some of place of building were leaking it should be repairs. stuff were very polite and service was excellent .Melina hotel is one of the famous resort in Carrabin sea. we almost try to stay at this resort

Hotel Los Cactus: Beautiful beach and amazing staff!

My priorities when traveling south are beach, cleanliness, food - in that order. This place covers all the bases. The beach is beautiful, long and not overcrowded. The rooms are older but clean and comfortable (there are some that have been renovated). There is a decent variety of food. This resort has great value for the dollar overall considering it’s adult only. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is helpful and friendly.

Be Live Turquesa: Excellent value!

Large, clean, tiled rooms with two double beds. Air conditioning and fridge. The restaurant was very nice, good variety and food cooked at the moment as well as buffet style. Outdoor seating area overlooking the pool. Nightly musical entertainment indoors. Evening entertainment was fabulous! Top ratings! Five stars! Salsa, ballet and aquatic dance shows and music, rock and roll one night and dancing lessons for the guests. The staff were pleasant, smiling and friendly. Roc Arenas Doradas: would go back again

Not a high end resort, but we had lots of fun and completely enjoyed ourselves. Only problems we had, was the first day, we could not get beach towels till after 1pm as they didn't have any clean ones. People were friendly. We absolutely loved our two servers, Roberto and Arasay!!! We did find at the hotel desk, the girls had major attitude!! You went to get $$, and the one wouldn't even look up at you.No greeting with a smile, even when we were checking in. But the customer service rep, Yoli, was great, always a smile on her face and helpful. Rooms were basic, but they served the purpose. As I said in title, we would go back again.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: It's cuba!

Lacking maintenance!!!! Railings very loose and extremely unsafe!! Only a few elevators working!!! Bathroom door would would not close because it was falling apart!!!! Air conditioner marginal!!!! Food OK. Smokers lounge in the main lobby... Give me a break!!!!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: A good 3 star

The rooms were relatively clean. The poolside activities were good. Meals were okay with some exceptions - pasta bar was great! I would not rate this as more than a 3 star. There were a few very staff with exceptional service but in general, the service was average. The sand flies in the beach were awful though this time of year.

Palma Real: Great Value

This hotel is great value and in an amazing location. It’s just a short 5 minute walk to the Main Street in Varadero. The hotel is clean , has great pools and the staff try very hard It can be loud at night if you are near the Disco but otherwise is quite acceptable. The food is simply typical Cuban fare.

Roc Barlovento: Very quiet resort

Food was mediocre, beef was tough, pork under cooked. No 24 hour snack bar to help with hunger between lunch and dinner. Dinner staff was amazing Pool activities are non existent and not advertised throughout the resort. All activities are designed for adults over 60. Excursions were advertised and described exactly the way they were delivered. Bar was not equipped to handle volume of cocktails, always running out of key ingredients. Grounds were not kept clean for the next morning

Club Kawama: Amazing Trip

My husband, a couple of friends and myself go to Varadero Cuba every year for the past 5 years. We stay at Club Kawama it’s a 3 1/2 star resort but close to town so easy to tour by foot. Every year we find or do something new and meet with old friends we’ve met or make new ones. In the past 5 years we have done the Jeep tour, skidoo’s, Bettles bar, we found a local bar that was amazing but was closed this year. Found a place 2 years ago that had amazing cheap food but was lost to a hu [... read more]rricane last year and this year we ventured on a glass bottom boat that also let you snorkel and see lots of underwater wildlife. I look forward to our next adventure at club kawama next year and seeing all the friends we have made there again

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Beautiful, well appointed resort!

Grounds were well cared for and a gardener was always present working to keep them that way. No trash was ever in evidence, staff were so kind and helpful, making sure everything you requested was right there. No request was too great. Housekeeping always kept our room in a wonderful, clean state. Pool areas were clean and well kept. All staff were friendly.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Great Resort

Rooms were very basic but spotless, with fresh bottle of water daily. Customer service rep Yoly was awesome. Also Roberto and Arasay in the buffet made us feel as if we were welcome every day! Will be returning for sure.
