Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Awesome vacation

Fantastic hotel. Very clean. Friendly staff. Lots to do. Highly recommend this hotel. I had never been to Jamaica but found this vacation to be extremely enjoyable. Everyone there made sure our vacation was a great one.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Riveria Maya Bahia Principe Akumal

The rooms were very nice and kept very clean. Staff was wonderful, and helpful. Beach was nice but very shallow. Nice pools but need more umbrellas. Food was good and other restaurants also good. Very large complex but many trolleys to take everywhere. Definitely best to stay in resort by beach.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Excellent resort

Stayed at Bahia Principe Sian Ka'an July 2nd to 9th 2017. The adult only is awesome. Great service from Alberto, the butler assigned to us. Food was really good everywhere we went, from buffet to Cenote restaurant to all the a la carte we did. Grounds are really good; some repainting ongoing which is necessary in this climate. Staff are polite and friendly. Check in and out was painless and fast.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great relaxing week!

My husband and I just came back from a week long vacation here. We had concern with it being a "low season" which would often mean rain and mosquitoes but there were absolutely NO mosquitoes on the island and it only rained briefly a couple of times! We kept seeing storm clouds over the main land but no clouds above. Animation team is hilarious )as are a lot of the waiters in the restaurants), Amarillos and Kendrick in particular. They made it fun. My husband and I won a handful of prizes in the silly funny games they made us play at the beach and pool. I enjoyed water aerobics every day and my husband played beach volleyball. alrhough he said the volleyball is not the best because it's so close to sidewalk. 24 hour room service is a great perk! If it's raining or if you're too lazy to get out of bed, or if you need a midnight snack! Food was great in all buffets and restaurants. In restaurants, they will offer you a wine list for extra charge. If you don't want to pay, just ask them for house wine which is free. Also, every restaurant makes their own complimentary cocktail. We like that no one is expecting tips from you. We tipped anyway where we felt appropriate but there was no pressure to tip that you usually feel in Cuba. Wifi in the room was very good. We watched Netflix and used FaceTime no problem. Wifi at the beach is spotty. Drinks - you got to try the national liquor called MamaJuana :P :P Cleaning was great! They will clean your room twice a day sometimes! We also liked that the main beach and the main pool are right next to each other, so you don't have to walk far and you don't have to think where to go - it's all right there in one place. The "snack bar" is a full buffet right next to the pool (As opposed to just mediocre burgers and fries on the beach) All in all, we had the best time!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beautiful Grounds Mediocre Service

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The grounds and main foyer were beautiful. The ocean view from my room was fantastic! The kids' water play area was great, as my son spent hours there during our stay. Our housekeeper Christine was lovely and kept our room very clean. The rooms were very spacious, as well. We had no issues with bugs and the air conditioner in our room worked extremely well. The staff was friendly for the most part. The tapinaki restaurant was great and very entertaining. T [... read more]he spa (though a bit expensive) was wonderful! That said, there were many issues that are easy enough to address, and it would behoove Bahia to do so. They are as follows: *on average it took several calls and somewhere between 12-24 hrs to get issues resolved *there was probable cross contamination during food preparation (my son had a moderately concerning allergic reaction, as he is allergic to peanuts) *the kids' club did not do any water activities with the kids and spent too much time indoors *the power kept going out several times a day, though not for long periods *there was painting being done constantly during busy times in high traffic areas ( I ruined two of my cover ups while trying to assist my son outside our room where a wall was freshly painted) *the wifi was only free in the lobby ( I think full free wifi service should at least be part of the Royal Golden package upgrade) *better upkeep of the hotel in general and updating the rooms would be a good idea (e.g. Only one of the three jacuzzi tubs at the pool was working) *more beach parties ( the ones I attended were great, especially for families with kids) *do not have the Privilege Club timeshare sales team constantly approach your guests (this is the only chain of resorts that allows this type of constant soliciting, to my knowledge) As I said, I still had a fabulous vacation, however, I was prepared for issues, as I read many reviews of this nature. They were quite accurate for the most part. It is my hope that these and other issues mentioned by Bahia guests get fixed. It is a nice looking resort. The service should match it, yet doesn't.

Friendly environment with very good service. Beach needs more management to prevent customers from preserving beach seats by their towels. Excellent foods and drinks where ever you go. Overall is a very good vacation at Bahia Principe.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Nice resort

The grounds were in well kept condition. Beach was big with plenty of spots to sit. Room was nice and clean. Pool was big and spacious for all people. Only negative was fair distance to beach area. Other then that it was a good spot.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort

Beautiful resort, I would've liked it to have elevators for people with disability and no seaweeds at the beach but I would recommend it to my friends and family. The surroundings are impressive like the pool area at the Amber Green, I found it very romantic!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing trip @ amazing resort

Our second visit to Sian Ka'An. Booked with trip central (Sandy Nichols)- great experience - very knowledgeable and pleasant lady to deal with. The resort is beautiful; what make it GREAT is the Sian Ka'An buffet- outstanding food. We have traveling to Mexico for the last 11 years- twice per year- and this was the best buffet ever. We have booked 6 A la Carte- but ended up only using three restaurants- Alux & Maiko (both outstanding) - then we cancelled the rest since the buffer was "to die for" [... read more]! Friday night is the "Gala Buffet " & Saturday night is "Seafood "- every meal at the buffet was absolutely delicious! We used the buffet for breakfast...lunch...and dinner and all the time it was simply GREAT! The beach is big enoug and clean. Drinks are ALL premiums. Transportation between Sian Ka'An and the beach - and to the other three sister resorts- are flawless. This is the ONLY resort where we went back in 11 years. If the price is right-we will return with no hesitation.... Make sure you check the infinity pool at Akumal. Beautiful! Overall- outstanding experience and will be back again.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Pretty Amazing Resort

This resort is hugh and the grounds are impeccable; ate at 5 of the al le carte restaurants and was very impressed with the food and the staff. We will definitely return to this resort. Pools and large and the lots of pool chairs

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: A fabulous getaway

This hotel was absolutely stunning. I enjoyed every moment of my vacation. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely warm, inviting and friendly. I particularly appreciated the efforts of the 'animation' or entertainment team; they definitely made this a memorable trip. The resort is fairly large, so there are trolleys to transport you around (I really enjoyed these). There are many different areas to explore between the beaches and the pools.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Lovely resort

This is our second time visiting this resort and again we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, food was fantastic with a huge variety every day, beach was excellent with great snorkelling right off the beach. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. We had another amazing vacation at the Grand Bahia El Portillo and would go back again. A lovely family resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Getaway

Hotel rooms are very nice and spacious. Hotel grounds are well maintained. Staff is very friendly. Very nice resort! Hotel is not right on the beach but there frequent shuttles to the beach and multiple nice pools. Snack bar open 24/7. Wifi was hard to connect and very spotty. Italian a la carte was disappointing.

Great place to spend your vacation. We liked the service of the hotel staff a lot. They paid attention to the little details. There was triple occupancy in our room[ two adults and a child ] and our son was using the sofa bed in our room. The sofa bed was totally made for him every day, with fresh sheets, pillows etc and they even left him a pair of child slippers and a gown. There was free wifi in the lobby and the room. The buffet restaurant was well stocked . Everything was just right. The  [... read more]only suggestion that we had was that in the buffet restaurant the vegetarian section should be separate. This will save the vegetarian people from going all around the area and looking for the vegetarian food, which is not marked properly a lot of times. Also people tend to mix serving spoons a lot of times and meat ends up in the vege food. They should use separate cooking stations for the vegetarian food and not use same utensils, fryers, oils, etc for the vege food as they are for the meat.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing

The bed rooms are clean and tidy. The location is perfect. The food is yummy. Ilke the duck in the Asian night. I wish I can have that dish again. I liked the seafood in the seafood restaurant. The lobster and the fish are very delicious. I also like the Japanese restaurant. They are very yummy. I will definitely come back again and recommend it to my friends.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Property is simply beautiful!!

Just visited the Grand Bahia resort in JA on June 21-28. It was beautiful. The food, room and people were great. Room service was delightful! Only hiccup, the misquitos are relentless even with bug spray. Be prepared to walk, drink and have a good time. Bartenders Joel and Leroy are excellent!! Big up to Abagail!! Thanks for your great hospitality. Go and see for yourself!!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Great Resort!

The hotel was beautiful! A lot of great food, including the jerk chicken ;) Advice: Visit the grand bahia side as well, bring long pants and t-shirts (they are required for some of the a la carte) best a la carte experience was at the don pablo - we both got steak and loved it! Beach is a bit rocky, pool is nice! It wasn't too over crowded which we liked. Excursions: We did the Dunns River and Mystic Mountain. We had an amazing time at both. Met some great people! Would visit again. Only problem [... read more] we had was with room service... it took over 3 hours to arrive one of the nights.. we had to call and cancel because we got to tired waiting up.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Beautiful!!

This place is amazing if you're looking for a laid back tropical paradise. Beaches are stunning, water is beautiful and fun to play in. Rooms are very generous and we had the cheapest room at the resort! You should go check it out!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: amazing resort

I found the property is amazing. Really enjoyed the entertainment at the Lobby in the evening. Will go again..... had a great family vacation. The staff/service were great. The resort will need to improve the beach towel service. Not enough towels and the staff kept giving us dirty/used ones. This is my 5th time at Bahia Principe Punta Cana. Found the food quality has declined from my last visit in 2015. My first visit the food at Punta Cana Resort was amazing with a variety of c [... read more]hoices daily. The food at the buffet Amber Blue was always the same, and no live entertainment during dinner.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great all-inclusive, but not "luxurious"

This is a great all-inclusive in an absolutely beautiful location, but if you're looking for something decidedly "luxurious" or "upscale" then you might need to look elsewhere and probably splurge and spend a bit more. We came for our honeymoon in mid-June 2017, after having had stayed here 5 years ago. We chose this resort because we particularly liked that it was on a quite and secluded island (it still is). The bus ride from the Samana airport was about 50 min-1 hour and the boat ride from t [... read more]he dock was about 10 minutes. There's not a lot to complain about, but there isn't much to be truly excited about either, with the exception of exquisite nature surrounding the grounds and the peace and quite pace of the resort. The food was average for an all-inclusive, including the a la carte restaurants. The a la cartes were better quality and flavour than the buffet, but we noticed that the quality of dinning had declined since we had last stayed. The gala dinner at the buffet was probably one of the better meals, but this is offered only once per week (on a Thursday when we went). There are three a la carte restaurants: Brazilian steakhouse (Rodizio?), Portofino, Mediterranean, and gourmet Don Pablo. Don Pablo was probably the best one with better quality and certainly better service. We skipped the Mediterranean because we went to the Gala dinner instead. It's really a hit or miss with the dishes, but the steak and lamb generally stood out to us. The general atmosphere was the same has it had been 5 years earlier--lots of vegetation; two regular pools, one large whirlpool, and a beach. We went in June (lower season) and were very happy at the lack of crowds and plenty of space in pools, lounge chairs and sun huts. The beach had two sides--one side was always windy and therefore the water was wavier (which can be fun), and the other side more calm. There was some seaweed but generally the beach was clean and tidy. Service was great for the most part. We were staying in a villa and were assigned a "butler" but we never saw the butler again after the first day. Not really sure what the purpose of the butler was besides helping guests to order special pillows and scents for the room. Room service was available but the food was limited and the quality was poor (pizza was not good)! Rooms were generally clean. We thought that the quality of cleaning service may have declined though because they no longer made those fancy towel swans or put flowers on the bed like they used to. The bathroom also had sewer odours on some days too, especially when it rained! Request for a higher floor for a better view! We have now stayed in a villa and in the main building (5 years ago), and the rooms are generally both pretty good as it is a smaller resort. All in all, this is a great all-inclusive uniquely situated on a beautiful island. I would recommend, but if you're looking for a truly luxurious experience you probably have to look elsewhere.
