This is the cleanest resort I have ever been to in Vuba, very well maintained. The people are the most genuine people you will ever meet, they smile & greet you even though behind that smile is a very hard life. The food was very good at Santuary a big notch up from the Grand Memories buffet. Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful Resort

My overall experience was great. Staff was more than accommodating and friendly. It was unfortunate for the shortages of certain food and drink, but the presentation of what they had was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Amazing Resort with Icing Sugar Beach

Majority of Staff are fabulous...rooms are clean. Food was good. A few meals were great. Front desk staff are helpful. After Canadians the next nationality would be Russians, Brits then other Europeans. Smoking is unfortunately very prevalent in Cuba. Great place for a week of fun in the sun!!!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Very Disappointed !!!

Had many trips to Cuba over the years. This has been by far the worst. 1. Paid for selected seats to and from Cuba. Seatbelt on plane not working. 2. Hotel was far from being at full capacity although they stuck us in a dirty room way in the back of resort facing a dirty field. 3. We upgraded to another room. Entrance to room was filthy, would not touch the hand rail on stairs. 4. No hot water for showering 3 days out of 7 5. Same towels 3 days in a row 5. Buffet was  [... read more]disgusting!!! Nothing but hundreds of black house flies all over the food, tables and floors. 6. Staff would not make eye contact with you unless you flashed money in front of them. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great resort!

We stayed April 19-April 26 when we first got off the bus it was a very warm welcoming from playing music/dancing was greeted with a drink, the hotel general manager introduced himself and welcomed us. check in was smooth and our luggage was brought up to us by a bell boy. Entertainment staff were phenomenal and definitely made our week fun for us. The grounds are well kept by the gardeners, and they work very hard. Despite the shortages of certain things and all the house flies (they were terrible when there was food near by). Pools were very clean and nice to cool off in. This was our first time to cayo coco and it definitely won't be our last. We enjoyed the week of relaxation, sunshine and good times. See you next time.

My sister and I just came back from this resort and all we can say is you get what you pay for. We booked this resort a few weeks before we left and it only cost us $1100. So again, you get what you pay. For. I would never pay more! It is not a 4-5 star resort. There are only 2 pools and they close very early in the evening. I think it was 6 PM. Including the pool bars. The beach itself was beautiful I will say. And they do have some paddle boards and water stuff that are free.But everythin [... read more]g is based on a lineup and 1st come 1st serve. They were very generous with their alcohol, but they were very limited on their knowledge of cocktails and different drink mixes, so I only had the same two drinks for the whole week. It got old pretty quick. The food, though I heard there was a food shortage, was plenty but it was the same thing everyday and again very few selections. But plenty of it. I don't recommend waiting an hour in the lineup to book the restaurants because the restaurants serve the same food as the buffet, but they only give you one small serving where the buffet you could eat as much as you want. The 24 hour snack bar is not a snack bar.You have a selection of a ham sandwich or a chicken sandwich or if you are lucky a hot dog, but it does not come with anything but bread and the meat. My recommendation as I had read before is to bring your own condiments. They don't even have salt and pepper anywhere ... no ketchup, nothing. Also, if you do go, DON'T BE SELFISH! There are ignorant people stacking on food, bread, desserts, etc. Eat only half and the rest is thrown away and less people have options or don'tget any. Don't be greedy! The staff is very mixed in my reviews.I had some that were very nice, but I had many that almost seemed annoyed if you asked them any questions. So I didn't have the best experience with the staff. It does take an hour and a 1/2 to get to the resort and it is a long trip.They do have a bus that you spend $5 that you go to other resorts on the island and there is a small resort about a 45 minute drive away that has a market and restaurants that you pay, but at least there are more variations of food and drinks.The market is very small. The room definitely needed some upkeep.They said it was only built a few years ago but it looks older.There was water and condensation everywhere always. I never want to complain but definitely know what you're getting into when you go. If you want all you could have alcohol and sit around and do nothing, this is the place. If you are one like me that likes to get up and do things, this is not the place. Even the pool, though it has a volleyball court and the property has a tennis court and basketball court, you have to bring your own sports equipment.They did not have a volleyball. So keep that in mind. For those who have kids, there is a very small pool but with no activities, except maybe at night time there's a small activity at the Theater, but the kids room consists of a chair and a table and 6 cribs.There's no toys or anything that I saw. So definitely bring your own. The theater night shows were OK.They do try their best and they do try to get the audience excited. Again, you get what you pay for. I personally will not be going back to this resort or others on the island, as I heard they were all generally the same.

Positives: Close to the airport. Very clean. Rooms spacious and beautiful. Medico on premises. Hardly any smokers. Negative: kafkaesque numbering of levels and rooms- wait for a busboy to get there. Do not rely on elevators and your reasoning. Do not rely on info from Reception- either non existent or wrong. No wine- only in menu restaurant. No cheese and butter 8 days of ten. Blau Arenal Habana Beach: Lovely Surprise

This place exceeded my expectations. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms are a bit dated but better than I expected. We made use of the gym, pool and beach. I also enjoyed the musicians who played one night.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Vacations

The hotel itself is good enough, we were told in advance about the food quality being not great and it was exactly it. Id you travel ensure you bring in some snacks, insect repellent, after-bite and of course a lot of sunscreen. People and staff were great, and I think they take the experience to another level. They are always keen to make you feel comfortable, and ensuring you are having a great time. Bedroom was good and clean. I think the only problem we had was with one visitor family that had superiority thinking, and even there hotel staff was able to manage. Tip: Cuban people are just amazing and in this hotel in particular they appreciate you coming and of course sharing a tip. Although it is not mandarory and you shouldn’t feel pushed. I totally recommend this hotel for kids and family. There were daily activities, night shows and performances. And at least our kids had a great time.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Great resort

The hotel staff were great the only thing I would like to see is more of a selection in the buffet restaurant. The villa room we stayed in was always clean and fully supplied. The 24 hour bar/ restaurant had a good selection of food. It was hard for my froend who doesn't drink to get a lemon in his water other then that a great week at the resort.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Good vacation spot

Fantastic entertainment and evening shows! Beautiful rooms, beach and amenities! Morning activities by the beach were great but couldn’t find all the afternoon activities by the pool. Food was limited and inconsistent in availability but tasted good. Service was good for the most part. Check in could have been more informative. Ran out of water twice during the week but it came back after a few hours. Overall good vacation for the money.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Breathtakingly Beautiful

My family and I had a fabulous time at Santa Clara-Grand Memories resort. The staff were outstanding. Alessandro from the Diamond Club was very attentive. Lisandra, our house keeper, was especially kind and helpful. Although, this was our first time in Cuba and we were for warned by many people that the food would be okay. We unfortunately, still had issues with finding adequate meals. But all told this is an amazing resort and we will return.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Don't go

I just got back from this resort a few days ago.Im not sure what has happen to cuba but I don't remember the rudeness and lack of food.I could always find something to eat but not this time..It was terrible. Japanese the best. But only al le carts allowed.. Rooms were out dated. Maid was lazy skipped days of cleaning and never changed bedding. I love cuba but this was the worst.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Will not return

Our booking was all over the place! Requesting a suite due to having a baby! We were placed in the furthest building from our family with stairs and no phone no wifi! Would not change! All rooms had issues all family had to move rooms due to hotel issues. Rude staff, horrible pools dirty, locals on vacation. The day before leaving food was great, pools cleaned all locals left! The whole trip was a mess. Do not recommend this resort. Sol Palmeras: Good stay

Stay was from April 2nd-9th 2023 Upon arrival my husband and I noticed that the lobby was dark and uninviting and there was no one to greet us. We've stayed at many all inclusive resorts in the last 15 years and were always greeted and given complimentary drinks and we did not have that experience here. But what I really appreciated was when we were displeased with our initial room the concierge at the front desk "Flex" gave a new room with no issue. The beach and the water were both breathtaking! and the accessibility was easy. The entertainment was phenomenal, especially the night shows in the pool! It had both myself and my husband grinning from ear to ear and giddy to see the spectacles. I booked myself a massage and I was disappointed with the session, it was absolutely terrible. The atmosphere didn't feel professional, the masseuse played music from her phone and the environment felt cluttered and closed in. The spa needs to be updated, it did not feel like a spa in any regard, there were no candles and no ambiance of any kind. The masseuse also was in a rush to go home so she didn't give me a satisfying massage. In the middle of our week we were walking in the hotel and stumbled upon a customer service office where the employees that worked there were kind and we really appreciated their attentiveness to how we felt about our trip so far. For the most part the staff was friendly and tended to our needs. In terms of the room service, the fridge was never restocked with pop only water and when we made that aware to the staff they had assured us that they would restock but they never did. I'm not sure if everyone was new but the front desk employees need more training in customer service. When we were checking out and returning our keycards there was not a care in the world of how our stay went or questions about how we felt about our stay.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Time

As we expected in Cuba food was not great, but they did their best to create some good foods. They ran out of certain food like fries, hamburgers, hot dogs and toilet paper at times....the lines for pasta and grills were long at times, unless you went to buffet after 8:00pm. We managed to get enough just not the finest food. The bars were pretty good although they didn't have Pina colada's & specialty drinks at times. The cappuccino were very good! The beach was the best, beautiful white sand, lots of chairs, shade and not a lot of waves so that you could go in the water which was so very nice and warm. For that alone I would go back there if the price was good. PS.....Bring ketchup, condiments, salt, pepper and hot sauce if you like.

It was our third time at this hotel and our best. The hotel rooms were freshly painte, new air connditinners (sitent), and the grounds were well kept and overall the hotel very clean (and rooms serviced every day). The food (buffet, outdoor grill, cafe, restaurants) were excellent; there was ample fresh vegetables (letice, tomatoes, cucombers, squash, aubergine...) and grilled fish of all types, chicken, pork, beef and seafood, and great deserts.... we lacked of nothing. Starfish Cayo Guillermo: A week in paradise!!!!

My son and I took our first trip south to celebrate my big 5-O and my son's grade 12 a bit early. We had always heard that Cuba was affordable, super safe, with the most friendly people on earth. Our maid, Marelis did an outanding job at keeping our room clean, well stocked, and the creative touches were appreciated. The servers were all so lovely too and attended to our every need. The entertainment manager, Nildrey help organize top talent and entertainment that was on par with what you'd expect at Las Vegas. The gardeners, Alberto and Julio also ensured I had a fresh flower to enjoy every day and did a fabulous job at maintaining the grounds!!! This unforgettable experience will be forever cherished in our scrapbook of memories. I have no idea why anyone would dare write a negative review. If so, SHAME ON YOU!!! Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: great resort

the resort was the best the beach was beautiful the food was lol cuban style but we knew this i did see alot of shortages on certain things like no butter the whole week milk was hit and miss no jam or anything for toast but you didnt go hungy lol and the first four days were fly free then it was unbareable those bugs chewwed me alive and that was with spray i felt bad for the workers they were beating themselves like crazy lol and the distance from the airport to resort was a long drive not  [... read more]much to do but walk the beach and soak up the sun which was good for me lol wouldnt go back to that resort just becauce of the long drive to the resort and the bugs but it was a good trip

Memories Cayo Largo: There are people who love or hate Cuba

This is our 10th time to Cuba. We've been to Cayo Coco and Varadero but first time in Cayo Largo. If you love nature, please go. You will not regret it. Take the catamaran sunset tour, turtle sanctuary, and go open minded. In Cuba, there is hardly processed food so don't expect cereals for breakfast, or Nutella or catchup etc. The food is simple but very tasty. You will not lose weight. I could never get my calculations straight that you can go for $1,000 to Cuba for a week, more than half is a  [... read more]airplain ticket and taxes, and there is so little left for Cubans to feed us all week, clean after us and all that with the smile. We've traveled the world but Cuba is the most convenience and the most relaxing place to go (if you live in Canada). To rent a cottage in Canada would cost me more, never mind traffic problems to get to any cottage country place. So stressful. Cuba is my go to place to get my vitamin D, relax, and physically and mentally recover for busy Toronto life. We loved Cayo Largo. There is even beach for nudists (if you practice). Room was very clean with bottle of 1.5 L water every day, two rolls of toilet paper, shampoo, shower gell, soap, ground area clean, swimming pool with salt water (loved it), food was amazing (they have every day roast pork, chicken, fish, burgers, sweet potatos, carrots, beets salad, eggs, guava, mango, watermelon with seeds (yes with seeds, all natural)... Please don't ask for strawberries, cranberry juice, blueberries etc. And take the bumpy ride to Paradise and Sirena beach. At Sirena they serve free food and drinks like wine and beer. Yes, sometimes people who live on an island would run out of things, so please don't be mad if one day they don't have red wine but they offer you champaign or rose instead. Who cares? Do you really drink that much at home every day anyways? Do you get mad at your friends if they don't have your favourite drink when you visit them? No. BYOB if you cannot live for a week without it.
