Occidental Cozumel: Truly awful

When I say everyone was ill, I am not exaggerating. It was clear when we arrived something was going on and sure enough 2 days later we were all sick with fever, vomiting, diarrhea. People throwing up in the bushes, sheets with vomit on them. The poor staff was doing what they could to help while management repeated nothing was happening. The grounds are lovely, rooms spacious and Norovirus or who knows what abound

Barcelo Huatulco: Loved it!

Loved this Barcelo , very clean public areas and rooms ! Staff was friendly , easy to understand and seemed to love their jobs! Great evening shows , dancers and singers were very talented. Was there 10 years ago and would go back again! Please pass along my thanks for a great vacation .

Secrets Huatulco: Amazing resort

Loved Secrets!!! This is one of my favourite resorts - the food was amazing, the staff at the resort were so happy and helpful. The weather was incredible!! I loved how all of the pools had a different vibe - one was full of activities, music and had a swim up bar. The other pool had more shade and a calmer feel and the third was shallow with a hot tub. El Cid Resort Castilla: Excellent view older hotel, A la carte were excellent, buffet not so great.

Older hotel. Room musty smelling. We did have ocean and pool view which was beautiful. Gets lively on the beach Saturday and Sundays. Pool entertainment staff were very nice and fun. Buffet was not great. A la carte we’re excellent. The Japanese restaurant forgot to bring my daughters main course she did have appetizers so it was not a huge deal. Bring your own drink cups and water bottles. They don’t clean the plastic cups very good at the bars as they reuse the cups. They told us that we had to pay for water that was brought to our room but when we checked out they did not charge us. Main lobby bar staff were excellent. Bathrooms around hotel very always clean would of like to have seen more cleaning of tables and chairs.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Los Cabos

This hotel is an older hotel that has been maintained, our initial check in was efficient but paperwork was poorly explained and we were not given pool towel cards(we received them the following day). Was also not explained that to access à la cart meals you needed to go daily and register for those between 11am-230pm. Staff was friendly and food very good. When the hotel is busy there are not enough chairs for number of guests making enjoying pools disappointing. Our over all experience wa [... read more]s good and would go back again.

Buganvilias Resort: Just an Ok resort!

The resort was well maintained and very clean. The staff was friendly and welcoming most of the time. Although we will not be returning again. Pool was bath water warm, very uncomfortable to swim in. Pillows and bedding were lumpy and rough. Beach loungers were almost all broken, beach area is small and usually not cleaned or maintained daily. It definitely needs more attention. Location was good. Food good. Other than that, nothing special.

Riu Palace Baja California: Excellent Resort in Cabo

The resort was beautiful and had every service and ammenties avaialable as expected. We booked a standard room which was beyond expectations with the size including full bath and balcony. Service was excellent and rooms and hotel cleaned daily. Food was five star with many vegetarian options.Overall location wa stunning with views of the Arches and close to Medano beach.

Barcelo Maya Tropical: Huge resort with lovely grounds

Best feature is the grounds and pool, Lots to do but really an all inclusive plus....lots of things were added costs. Kids pools were great and the one with the Pirate ship was nice as not as busy as it was 20 AM dollars each unless under 6 and over 60. No alcohol served there though. Buffet was better than the restaurants except for Japanese, it was fabulous and not to be missed. Rooms were okay but not as large as other resorts. The place is so big you spend a lot of time lost., they do not give any paper maps and the ones on their website and on line suck. Most people wander around asking others where everything is. Lots of staff do not speak enough English to help you out. Staff was great otherwise. Pool really lovely but be prepared to get your drinks at bar and there is no service at beach. Beach is beautiful with lots of palms but its rocky so bring water shoes. It was very rough for week we were there but still enjoyed the beach. Room was really clean when we got there but the cleaning after that was not great. No face cloths and bath mats were size of a cell phone! Had to call for more coffee, water and beer. We left a note for more beer and we got some so that was great. We booked 2 beds as there were 3 of us, but got one bed and no compensation or apology. My daughter and grand daughter swam with the dolphins and it was well organized with little wait time and good viewing. You can go into the area and just watch if you like. There are 2 large red double decker buses that go from one lobby to another and to the 2 malls in the place. No matter which way they go they will get you to your lobby and from there you walk to your actual 3 storey building. Each hotel on site has a different lobby and then their own buffet, kids pool and accommodations, restaurants and bar. Some you can go to no matter where you stay and others are exclusive....you could swim in the pool but they will not serve you in the bars or buffets. It really takes 2 or 3 days to figure out the place and you pretty much have to go to your lobby to find out what and when the shows are. The kids club was nice and each activity was about 40 minutes and you can leave the kids there and pick them back up.Shows were not till 930 so did not attend but kids shows were at 8.We took a private day trip thru Kay Tours to ruins, lunch and Cenote with Juri....highly recommend them and ask for Juri too. She was great.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Great Stay

Really good accommodations, pool, access to nice beach area. One suggestion for beer drinkers is they improve the beer variety; only somewhat flat ‘XX’ brand offered as part of the inclusive and no Corona or Pacifico beer available at all.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Gorgeous Resort and perfect for families!

This was our second time going to this resort. Love the setting and location. Staff are friendly and beach/pools are gorgeous!! So much to do and see. The buffet is too die for. Fresh food and selection for miles. Food is absolutely fantastic all around!! This visit the housekeeping was terrible. Forgot to replace things in our room (mini-bar, towels, body wash, etc.) daily and forgot to clean or room three of the days we were there. Entertainment was disappointing. Was hoping for my  [... read more]kids to see a beautiful Mexican show with Mexican music, instruments, dancing and flamboyant costumes... but they had singers perform barely understandable renditions of Disney movie theme songs that were so boring that my kids asked to leave part way through. Shuttle bus that is supposed to run every fifteen minutes often takes over an hour and made us very late for one of our reservations (feet were too sore by then to run). Don't scrimp on packing your sunscreen. We ran out and it cost us about $100 CAD to purchase one cream and one spray (and two bags of chips) from the resort store. We were disappointed that they didn't recognize us as repeat customers. Other resorts always have... with an upgrade or a little token/note in the room. We will book elsewhere next time due to this and because of the housekeeping and poor entertainment.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Just Ok trip

We liked location , greenery , wild animals . We did Not appreciate that we were served with instant coffee and powder milk . Also , we not like an extra charge (1$ per day ) for sanitization. Other chains don’t charge extra . Fyi . It took us over 2 hrs to get from Cancun to Iberostar as they put us on a shared bus which stopped at 4 resorts dropping off 2 or more people and we were at the last place . It was very disappointing after 4.5 hr flight .

Royal Solaris: Nice resort

Great kids area separate from resort pool. Included slides, activities and grassy play area. My grandkids loved it.Clean resort, nice staff. Food not overly great, but breakfast choices very good.Unable to swim in ocean due to very strong undercurrents. Pools great but get there early to get a chair.

Breathless Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort.

Breathless Riviera Cancun is a beautiful resort. Rooms are spectacular. Beds are comfortable. Shower is spectacular, pictures do not do it justice. Buffet food was always hot and plentiful. I would have preferred that the Mexican restaurant serve real Mexican food, otherwise they were all very good. The pool was very nice and warm, get a chair early because it fills up fast. I have two complaints. This one is fixable... They tell you when you arrive at the front desk, this is a party resort.. [... read more]. OK... North pool has party music from 1pm to 6pm, the south pool is quieter. Not true... Thump thump music all day. Day 5 they put on regular rock and country music, the entire pool cheered and applauded! The supervisor told the entertainment guy to put it back to Thump Thump, the crowd BOOO'ed READ THE CROWD! Thump thump music is ok but keep it to the right crowd at the right time. Eating dinner is not the right crowd either! Everyone we talked to felt the same way. Second complaint is not fixable, nature prevails... the beach was covered with seaweed, it kept us away from the beach, seaweed smells when in direct sun. I give the resort 5 gold stars, I would have given it 4 Diamonds if the music was more of what their clients wanted.

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: another super vacation

resort and spaSirenishotel is the best hotel we have been and will ontiue to go there.the staf arevery very nice and helpful and happy and loving.The hotel ios always kept in tip top shape. the restaraunts are excellent and the buffets arevery good too.The rooms are all junior suites you do not have to upgrade like other hotels.highly recommended the beeches and pools areexcellent the spa is great and the dolp0inpool is en ntertaing

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: More of a hotel with pools

Was not impressed with this hotel. Too small for my liking. The rooms are getting run down needs to be updated. The food is okay if you can get into a restaurant. You can get into any restaurant if you pay for a bottle of wine or $150 US. Not enough loungers around the pool for their guests. So many birds

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: We would go again, absolutely!

Everything was great! The customer service was amazing, all the workers are incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. The check in process was seamless, even when there was a issue with our reservation (got a free upgrade to Maya from Lindo!). The restaurants were very good but the buffet was just as good. Highlights were El Rancho, La Geisha and El Tapotio. We did book restaurants right away and we worked around the times available. The pool is beautiful, the beach is amazing and the rooms were sp [... read more]acious. Maya rooms are bigger than Lindo but that is really the only difference other than access to a few more restaurants. Overall a great holiday! Would recommend for families with teenagers and families with young kids. My teens had a blast!

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Nice resort

The resort food was really good and the staff are working hard to please everyone. The entertainment staff were very friendly and outgoing. Our teen enjoyed playing Bingo, volleyball and hubby enjoyed playing water blackjack. Yes, there is seaweed and unfortunately the area is known for it. We still went in the ocean. The rooms were really clean, but I do hope they fix the slamming of the doors. You are not really near anything, so if you are looking for shopping or seeing the sites, this is not the place for you. Lots of kids slipping on the pool area, while running around, so be aware of that. Our teen was not racing around and wore flip flops and was fine.

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Great resort, but beware of getting sick

The resort overall was fantastic the first few days. There is lot’s to do for the kids - splash park for the younger ones, lazy river, big slides, trampoline$, bowling$, laser tag$ , etc. The food is amazing! The restaurants have delicious food. Zen was our favourite. The beach is not particularly swimmable as there is a lot of sargassum but we enjoyed being in there anyhow. The pools have a lot going on and are super fun. The gelato ice cream was our go to treat daily. The cafe had the best l [... read more]atte’s. The service was amazing - staff always smiling and very kind. Our room was cleaned daily. The shows in the evening are fantastic! This resort is very family oriented - I do not suggest couples go here. People are also getting up extremely early to ‘reserve’ pool loungers (around 5:00-6:00am) and they are all ‘reserved’ by 7:00am. That wasn’t a big deal for us as we were always on the go - however - it was extremely difficult to find a lounger by the pool. When we did want one - we couldn’t easily find one as they’re all ‘reserved’. Most people would not show up for hours - if at all. We would usually go sit at the beach as there are more empty loungers there. Also, many people got sick with what everyone believes is the norovirus. The hotel needs to do a deep clean. The sickness was horrible and went through our family one by one, and for this particular reason ruined our amazing trip. We have seen many reviews on other sites where people were getting sick (prior to our arrival) and it seems to be spreading fast now. There needs to be hand sanitizing in the buffet and restaurants. We witnessed a few people getting sick in front of our eyes. Something has to be done as almost everyone there has had it or knows someone who had it! We have been home for a couple days and still recovering. Royalton , do better - people are getting sick left, right and centre! Because of this reason I would NOT recommend anyone to go until this is under control. For this reason I am giving the hotel a 3 star .

Barcelo Huatulco: Wonderful people!

The staff at the resort made the experience fantastic. Everyone was singing and happily working. The resort is clean and the beach is beautiful. I recommend this spot due to the fantastic people who work there. Especially Alberto Reyes who watched over us and made sure we felt safe and looked after.
