Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing Staff!!!

I can't wait to plan my next trip here! The staff make this hotel everything! This was my first all inclusive alone and from the moment I arrived the staff made me feel welcomed, and that's important. My room was great but I wanted one King bed and I got two doubles. My room was always cleaned and fridge restocked daily. The food was great, loved the mangos! The Mediterranean restaurant was my favourite! I had an unfortunate discrepancy with the spa and sad to say I will not return to the spa I did not appreciate the way they dealt with the situation.The entertainment was amazing though, the dancers were fun and carefree and so full of energy. I personally enjoyed the guitarist and pianist! I will definitely be back, hopefully soon!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Luxury Bahia Principe Jamaica

Ok where to start...I have been to the Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana 5 times and Luxury Bahia Principe Punta Cana Twice. Check in was long and welcome staff took more than an hour to sort us out. Having been to this chain resort 7 times already and was treated to VIP status in Punta Cana I thought I would mention this...I was told no you have to have been 10 times to be upgraded rudely and she walked away. I had told my rep at trip central to mention this and the fact that my friend and I both had disabilities and trouble walking far!! I had also sent an email attesting to this. I also mentioned it was my friends birthday during our stay. With a phone call to the desk stating that we DID NOT LIKE our room??? I said to the head butler that it is not a matter of not liking the room, we asked for a double bed room. He replied that this is a COUPLES resort to which I responded no it is an ADULTS only resort, big difference as I would not have booked a couples resort. There are apparently only 1 double bed room on each floor. Therefore do not book a double bed room beach view as you will only get a king size bed room and no refunds. 3 days later and much complaining including to my trip central rep Robyn who was quick in sending the hotel an email our room was switched to directly beside the lobby area. First let me explain that the Luxury Bahia in Punta Cana is completely sectioned off from the Gran Bahia hotel, no access to other guests unless on a tour. The Don Pablo restaurant is adult only also. So we were in block 24 which is ATTACHED to the hallway for Gran Bahia. THERE IS NO SEPARATION from the Grand hotel!! The rooms on the opposite side of us were not luxury Bahia rooms. We had horrible red carpet in the hall it looked exactly like the Gran Bahia side. I think the Luxury Bahia hotel was not planned properly. Also the elevator which was NOT marked as 'staff only' on our floor was the staff elevator. We had to wait long periods for the elevator which had ladders sitting on the floor with no one in the elevator. Staff were constantly standing in front of it blocking it and would push their way onto the elevator without letting us get out first. It appears our switch was a smack in the face to pacify us. The air conditioning was not working properly at all. Maintenance came immediately but left a huge mess of rocks in the washroom tub and on the floor which the maid did not clean. This was terrible service. Our buffet restaurant was in the Gran Bahia side which was also an error in planning. The Gran Bahia pool had signs that said Luxury only for PART of the pool but was used for children also. Very confusing not planned hotel. They charged more money for luxury side when in fact your were NOT really getting anything extra. In our initial room there were clothes left in the dresser which we did not touch. The staff must have bagged it and brought it to our new room. We took the bag to the front desk and said its not ours. She called the Security desk and we were told we had to take it to them ourselves!! My friend spoke to the woman on the phone and said she is disabled and will do no such thing. At this point it became a matter of the two staff arguing about who said what! This was another example of terrible service. The Don Pablo restaurant had screaming children. The power went out for one night for four hours. Then continuously for 6 days intermittently. The WiFi disappeared from our room only to find out it was the whole block. The food at the buffet restaurant was pretty much exactly the same every day regardless of what 'themed' night it was. My friend complained to the Manager and spoke to the chef about hard potatoes, rubber lamb and hard chicken to which we were told was actually duck and had the wrong signage. Our Butler came to our room to say hello and then never saw her again. They forgot to do something for my friend for her birthday as they did to others also. The next day while were in our room, they opened the door WITHOUT knocking and instead of apologizing just said 'everything ok?' We were both thankfully dressed but shocked nonethless. The turndown service was only the maid knocking on our door at 530 to see if we needed anything which was great, but at the Luxury in Punta Cana they came into our room turned down the bed left clean towels and took used ones and left a towel design on the bed. HAving spent $2600 on this trip we expected more. Also at 5- 6 pm everyday they go around spraying a black/grey thick smoke pesticide all over the plants near the pool WHERE PEOPLE are still sitting. We were told it was harmless but I'm sorry I had to make sure I left the pool before this happened as I choked the first time. I thought this was appauling. The good parts was the Dolce Vita restaurant which was magnificent, Best food and service ever! Also our waitress Camella Walker and Coda Walker and Kanesha at the pool lunch restaurant were wonderful and bent over backwards. Also Mavis who made our omelettes every morning was all smiles and wonderful!! The entertainment crew was great they always had smiles and laughs for everyone regardless of rain or shine!! All in all after experiencing the Luxury hotel in Punta Cana we were VERY disappointed and will only return to the Luxury in Punta Cana.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Wonderful Stay at Luxury Bahia

It is a massive and beautiful resort. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The food was good with lots of places to eat. There is access to a very nice beach on the Grand side. The beach on the Luxury side is ok too but not a natural beach. We will definitely be back!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Good resort!

This is hotel is regular....too far to be 5 stars..beach lot stones... corridor entrance apart is very dirty.Food is ok...Service not to bad...Location :1 h 30 minutes away from airport is bad....

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Very good resort !

Very beautiful resort and well maintained. Staff is very helpuful and friendly. The food is also very good. The only down is that even is that even if ita forbidden in theorie, they let people "reserve" long chair making it hard to find a free spot in the shade (people put towel down as early as 7am and dont actually show up until late afternoon while you will be roasting in the sun cause all taken !!!!)

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Fantastic resort

The hotel truly is Luxury. All facilities are great, the beach, the main buffet places, all the lacarte, the pools, The waiters, bartenders, cleaning ladies, guest service and front desk. All the other Bahias were beautiful and the trolleys service were excellent. Will definitely go again.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Wonderful first family vacation

Very clean, fantastic food, phenominal customer service. Well maintained areas and clean beach. As this was our first family vacation with our three year old, we weren't sure what to expect. Our child LOVED the kids club and fell in love with the coordinator Dahiana. The only issue we had was the cost for anything additional. They charge $4US per night for a lock for your safe and the excursions we purchased thru Transat vacations nearly made us bankrupt. This was our second Bahia Principe resort experience. Very pleasant and charming place to relax, enjoy great food, great stuff around you will assist for everything you need to make your stay memorable.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great people, great food, great resort, Queer friendly

The Bahia Principe is a large resort with a variety of pools, entertainment, and dining. We went in June, and we enjoyed friendly, personable staff, great service and excellent pools, food, several kilometers of beach and access to a variety of excursions. Our visit was excellent for the most part. I am going to include everything here that was a concern to us - none of these issues really got in our way or negatively impacted our trip. But I want to post the most inclusive and honest review pos [... read more]sible. If you're curious about the queer-friendly element, the details are near the bottom. Things to watch out for: -They do not automatically give you access to the safe. You have to rent if for around $4.50 US. per night. -They turned off the water one night to perform maintenance without giving any of the guests a heads up. Ever been informed that you won't have access to running water for eight hours by calling the front desk AFTER it's already been shut off throughout the whole resort? It would have been nice to be able to prepare for that. -We were given a room that had stains on the wall and ceiling, and with a broken television. We never felt the need to use the TV, and the stains weren't a detriment, but stains (makeup, wine, mildew etc) made the place feel a little "discount". -The lobby wifi is a pain to connect to and has limitations -They hold a lot of group trips. I understand why, because we stayed for the third week of June and it was dead for the first four days despite amazing weather. We personally enjoyed all of the space to ourselves, but I understand that the hotel needs to make money. The group trips were high school Grad Trips, specifically through the organizer, "S-Trip". Once they came in, we lost a lot of services.You could no longer get mixed drinks in any of the restaurants (only wine and beer... and if you've ever tried Dominican wine... it's not their thing.) Some of the bars or pools would be marked as "S-Trip Exclusive", which was never communicated to us. All of the online information informed us that we would have access to all of the facilities, and we found ourselves being kicked out of pools or having to walk to the lobby bar from the entertainment area because the entertainment area bar was "S-Trip Exclusive". The fact that we would not be able to access some of the facilities was not disclosed to us in advance. Positives of the organized groups? We were invited to events that we would not be able to enjoy otherwise such as beach parties and foam parties. Beautiful beaches, vegetation, dancing and staff who are legitimately good people as well as tasty food made our vacation fantastic regardless. The Mediterranean A la Carte was wonderful. We are Canadian. We took all of the issues with a thank you: so this is not the report of someone who tried to fight injustice and was told off. We may have had a different experience if we had complained, but it's not really in my nature, and our trip was pretty affordable. We didn't feel like we had a lot to complain about - but we're submitting the most honest review possible. The entertainment has a few shows that are dance-centric and fun, and a lot of bits that are audience inclusive and comedy-centric. They have a club and a bar on the part of the resort that is usually reserved for buses to drive up to, and approx. four nights per week they have live music and dancing on a stage on the strip where the club and bar are. I feel like a lot of the animation and staffing is reduced in the spring and summer months unless groups are booked. We could have used some animation events at the beach, for example, but their locations and times were very limited. If you are a queer couple considering this and being thrown off by the "no hand holding" laws in the Dominican - yes, this is a thing, but not on the resort. We even discussed it with some of the (closeted) staff. Living in the Dominican as a queer person is horrible by the sounds of it, however resorts are a relatively safe place for staff who are queer to interact and be themselves, and on the resort, tourists are totally safe and completely welcome. We tried to keep our PDA's to a minimum in the Dominican airport, but felt perfectly comfortable and welcome the entire time on the resort. Ultimately, this was a great trip and we found the perfect balance of having space to ourselves and interacting/adventuring with cool people. The Dominican is an absolutely beautiful destination and I 100% recommend it.

This resort was absolutely amazing from the grounds to the pools to the amazing staff. The room was also very beautiful.This hotel was very clean and family friendly, great food and an amazing verity to choose from

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Experience

It was my first time to Jamaica and it will not be my last. The entertainment team was PHENOMENAL! Activities were engaging, music on point, karaoke bar fun and on-site Disco music was great as well! With all of that said, However we did spot a cockroach or two.

Overall no complaints at all, the staff, the resort, the atmosphere, and the food were all outstanding. Would love to go again! Was at the resort for a wedding and they treated us like gold. Shouout to our man Krishna! he was the MVP. There was opportunity for relaxation as well as living it up!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Absolutely amazing!!!

We went for our honeymoon. They upgraded us to an ocean view. A.C. was not working so they happily switched us to another ocean view, they even moved our luggage for us. Amazing service, very clean, great food. I honestly cannot complain. A big shout out to Arcangel our amazing bartender.

Luxury Bahia is an amazing resort it's huge especially if you have access to the grand Bahia side!! I would advise using the carts at the front of the resort to travel to the other side. Very professional staff

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It's beautiful and was one of the nicest all inclusive hotel we've stayed in. The rooms were great, clean/attended to daily. The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: No Surprizes!

The resort was exactly what I expected. The scenery was spectacular, everything was very clean, pool and groubds were great. The beach was small but it had plenty of shade which os really important for me. The water was warm but a little murky. Its not the crystal clear pristine water but was fine for swimming. The food at the buffet was ok. I could find something I liked at every meal. The a la cartes were pretty good. My favorite was the Mediterranean. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: average

Hotel is old. I feel they have to hire more personal. Our room was cleaned after 4PM every night. Beach is very good and safe for children. A lot to do with kids ( dolphins, waterpark on the territory of resort).
