Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Great Resort for the price
For the price awesome resort the staff were all great no real complaints ..the food was Cuba ..lots to find to eat ...lots to drink ..lots of beach ...................................................:)
Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful Resort
Great resort for all ages. I went with my parents and my boyfriend. There was always something to do. Great activities throughout the day. Rooms were clean, always food to eat and drinks everywhere. The food was alright, nothing special. I would bring peanut butter and ketchup next time lol. Also, if you like to have snacks ( chips, chocolate) make sure you bring them. Very expensive there. I had a little bit of stomach problems, but my parents and boyfriend was fine. Water and ice were safe for [... read more]
Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Still the best deal in Cuba but sliding downward
My second time there. They are starting to show some age. portions in the restaurants have gotten smaller, always out of something and the staff are not nearly as attentive as they were in 2014, time to move on.
Memories Paraiso: Worst food ever
The hotel was average for Cuba but way to expansive for my liking. The food though was disgusting, day after day of the same either not cooked properly or over done. By the way I'm still sick two. Weeks after my return.
Valentin Perla Blanca: One Word - PERFECT
This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and clean. The food, service, entertainment was outstanding. the pool and surrounding washrooms were always well maintained with all amenities.I really struggle to find something negative to write about this resort, I have told 4 couples who have booked the resort after listening to us and seeing our pictures.
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Good Resort!
The service was great! The people were always friendly and the rooms were always clean. Good food but definitely got sick of it after a week of being there. Nice amenities, tennis courts were in good shape and the pool was always clean.
Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Absolutely disgusting
Food was disgusting!!!!! Some meat that was there still had hairs on it and were cooked. We witnessed the staff taking plates of food and hiding in the corner to eat it. The rooms were never cleaned and floors were not swept. We had 1 clean towel all week, and when requested more clean towels no one ever came to the room, while I waited there for a few hours one day. When we asked for extra bottled water we were told no. Like honestly I don't mind paying but for them to refuse us was absolutely [... read more]
Memories Paraiso: Clean and Crowded
Cayo Santa Maria is a beautiful white sand beach with turquoise ocean. From my perspective it is being over developed and despite there being enough chairs on the beach, they were four rows deep at time. Walking to dinner often felt like we were walking down a city street as there were so many people going to the restaurants in the central building. The resort was very clean and was well maintained. Our food expectations were low going in but we were pleasantly surprised especially at the grill [... read more]
Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort!
I've been to Cuba 4 times now and this is by far the best resort I've been to. The beach was beautiful, there's a nice little walk way to the beach on the right side of the resort! The rooms were big and air conditioned.. Right before dinner someone would stop by your room and offer you a water bottle, pop or cervsa if you wanted! I suggest you ask for a room on a higher floor, ours was on the ground floor so our view was a walk way, we didn't have much privacy at all if we opened the curtains a [... read more]
Memories Paraiso: Great Staff at this resort !
We had a good stay at the Memories Paraiso Azul Beach Resort. The beach is gorgeous, the grounds were well kept and the hotel was clean. We had a problem with the power in our room the first day; however, the staff quickly resolved the issue by moving us to a new room. The food at this hotel was not great; the buffet food was typically cold and lacking much choice and the restaurants did not serve the style of the food they claimed (ie. The Italian did not have Italian food); we did have one goo [... read more]
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Friendly and comfortable resort
Spacious grounds, clean, great food, lots of variety. Good entertainment. Lovely pools, ice cream house/bar. Great coffee bar. Pleasing staff, special thanks to Octavio at the evening buffet and Saidy at the all day buffet. Thank you to Raoul and Asmin of Transat for hands on service.
Resonance Blu Santa Maria: A good time was had by all !
The weather was fantastic and the beach was THE most beautiful beach I've ever seen. Lots of chairs available although shade was at a minimum. The food at the resort was lacking selection the first day or two, but by the end of the week there were lots of tasty options and we couldn't get enough. Popular food items that Canadians enjoy (bacon, french fries, pineapple, etc) tend to go quickly so get to the buffet early. Most staff were friendly and helpful. Its a good idea to practice a few Spani [... read more]
Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Tempered Expectations.
One of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Very disappointing food. Same buffet everyday - 3 times everyday! Very low food & restaurant cleanliness standards. Minimal entertainment.
Valentin Perla Blanca: Feb 6 to 13
I love the beach it was unfortunate that the pool bartender never smiled service was not wonderful. We travel alot and usually very happy but it lacked friendliness, not sure why. Was our friends first time in Cuba and they said it's the last time. I understand that when it's busy u can't due it all, or always smile but we were there all week same guy same long face. Also missing toilet paper all the time at pool washrooms and toilet seat covers. I have to say I'm glad we were 3 couples and made [... read more]
Memories Paraiso: Great staff
Feb 06 -12 Went with Sunwing and flight was good with no complications. Airport and customs in Cuba where very quick and we where loaded onto buses very quickly. Ride was approximately an hour and a half to the resort. Beer was sold on the bus and Canadian money was accepted. Check in was quick and there was golf cart to take us to our room. Our room in the 57 block was very spacious clean with a king size bed. Mini fridge with beer, pop and water was restocked daily. Wife asked for them to leav [... read more]
Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort!
Royalton Cayo Santa Maria is a small resort on one of the best beaches we have ever visited. The grounds are perfectly maintained and the food is good quality. The best thing about the resort is the staff and service.
Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Would not return
Positive: Beach was beautiful and entertainment was good Negative: Cockroaches in our room even after spraying - and there a lot of them! Pools are freezing cold Food is absolutely terrible - I had low expectations but it was worse than I could have imagined. Completely unsanitary, recycled food, meat left out in sun etc. I travelled with 9 people and we all got sick with food poisoning. Wait at airport was over 3 hours when leaving the country just to get our plane ticket and apparently this is [... read more]
Melia Las Dunas: Average Resort
The resort was certainly worth what we paid for it. Which was not a lot. Nothing outstanding. Food was okay, service was okay, and room was just okay. The grounds were well kept and the restaurants and common areas such as the lobby were nice. The pools were good and the beach was nice. I would not go back to this resort.
Memories Paraiso: avoid spring break
I have traveled to Cuba many times, this resort was decent. Great entertainment for families, amazing beaches, friendly staff and well laid out resort. Just avoid going on spring break I you want some R&R. Typical Cuban food- bland. Overall would go again
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Winter escape!
I enjoyed my stay; great service, terrific staff, wonderful beach & marvellous bands in the lobby in the evening. Japanese great. Would like to see the lobby area better lit; too dark in the evenings.
