Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Absolutely a beautiful resort.

Our room was just newly redecorated, we had been to this resort three times before and had no complaints, it was even better this time with many new amenities. The resort is so clean, grounds beautifully maintained, felt like a piece of paradise. The staff go above and beyond to help in every way, and always have a smile on their faces. My wife and daughter have Celiac disease (gluten free) they were given a card indicating their food allergies, and every time they went to the dining room t [... read more]he Chef would go around with them and show them what they could eat gluten free. The nights they wanted pasta, the chef in that area would cook the food especially for them. My son in-law and myself enjoyed every aspect of the dining. We also went to the VIP lounge at the airport, they didn't have gluten free sandwiches, but did offer yogurt and food in that category which my wife and daughter could eat. All in all, I couldn't say enough about the resort and the staff, go you will enjoy, we had 30 - 32 deg. weather every day.

Melia Las Antillas: I wish I could get my money back....

Between the mould in ther grout in ther bathroom and in the pool to the cockroaches on the buffet table...... no, just no. I'm not going to babble on about this to make up 200 characters. I just want to forget it.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful pool and beach resort

Pool was amazing and so was the beach... everything was close not far to walk ...the lobby was nice and the cigar room had great drinks...the food was okay ... workers are very friendly .... rooms had a musty smell to them but were very clean ! Better to stay on second floor ... I would go back because of beach and pool area!

Resonance Blu Varadero: Acceptable

This resort is an acceptable place, only lost power 3 times, and after day 4 we finally got hot water ! Yay! And the only ran out of cups and bread on day 4 ! Service was great when u could find someone to assist you!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Wonderful time

We enjoyed a wonderful vacation at Iberostar Laguna Azul. The food was delicious. The pools and grounds were clean the beach was fantastic The staff were helpful and pleasant. The rooms were tired and I feel need a little upgrading and maintenance for sure but they were clean. The price was a deal. My first time to Cuba and I will definitely be going back.

Playa Vista Azul: Wow. Amazing all around

This was the resort of a lifetime. Everything was absolutely amazing! My mom and I went on a mother daughter trip. And we went to this resort for a wedding. The staff from the bar tenders to the entertainment group was all incredibly friendly and we made a great connection with them. I would recommend this resort to anyone. There were all ages here and something for everyone. Very clean and the food was good too! A cafe on site with great coffee. By the end of the week a lot of the staff knew our names and it was hard to leave!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great resort!

We were really satisfied with the resort. The food was good, service was good and grounds were clean and tidy. It is Cuba, so of course it wasn’t as luxurious as a 4 star in Canada or even in countries like the DR. We were there for 10 days and we have no complaints. We did upgrade to the privilege services and am glad that we did. We had access to the privilege pool, premium drinks, a concierge and late check out. The restaurants on the resort are first come, first served, so being able to have reservations was really good, cause we didn’t have to rush to get in line nor did we have to wait. I would definitely visit this resort again and would recommend it to others. My only complaint was that there weren’t a lot of beach huts ave they were hard to get even if you were up early in the morning.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great winter getaway destination!

My wife and I had an amazing time last week in Cuba at this resort. The beach was among the best I have seen and I have been to Mexico, Bahamas, Turks, Greece and Forida. The room was great. The service and people were great. I will mention that my only minor thing was the food but I must say that for Cuba it was great. Please don’t go to Cuba and expect the food to be like other destinations. Make sure to book the alacarts for meals at the beginning of your visit. The Japanese was my favourite. Make sure to do the Havana tour and the Catamaran boat / dolphin tour.

Melia Las Antillas: Big Disappointment

Would not recommend this hotel. Food was good and the beach was nice. Service wasn’t good. Took about half an hour in the lobby bar to get a drink at any given time. Room air conditioning, fridge, and hair dryer all did not work upon arrival. Expected a much better room for price paid. Service in the dining areas was good and the cleaning lady did an excellent job. Only allowed one water bottle per day between two people. Hotel in need of updates.

Memories Jibacoa: Relaxing week

Great place to relax. A LA cart restaurants are very good. Lovely walking beach. Very well kept grounds. Rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. Local restaurant up the road is a must place to go.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: very satisfied

this resort was very good, the food was good the place was clean the worker were pretty helpful. i would recommend this resort to anyone oh yeah the beach was awesome you can walk for miles. Mostly Canadian might also make a difference.

Roc Barlovento: It was an amazing resort

The rooms were very comfortable the staff are very friendly and accommodating...lots of choose of food good entertainment and amazing beaches............ Thank you cuba it was an amazing resort....

Melia Las Antillas: Disappointed

I was greatly disappointed in this resort. On first sight our room needed repainting as rust was on the ceiling. It had a metal piece as you walk in. Tub was chipped. Took two days to get them to turn on air conditioning. Fridge didn’t work till 2nd day. Hair dryer never worked. Ceiling in gym was leaking and had marks from previous leaking. Gym equipment was old and needed upgrading. Were not allowed extra water than 1 bottle a day for two people. Also on day we left at 6 pm was not allowed a [... read more]ny water. Had to sneak it at the bar. The grounds were fairly maintained. The shark pond was stagnant. The pool was well maintained. Bars were run well but wait to get served in main building was at least 1/2 hr. For the advertising and what I received were two different things. I expected concierge but had to pay for it. Expected ocean view. Got a roof view. Expected room service. Oh no that wasn’t for us. I feel I paid way too much for what I got. The cleaner was wonderful and cleaned exceptionally well.

Barcelo Solymar: Great party resort

Food wasn't the greatest but your not coming here for the food. Don't come here during spring break if your not ready to party with a bunch of drunk college kids. Maids only leave a 1.5L water bottle in the room each morning so use it wisely. Good crowd and close enough to walk to the city

Melia Las Antillas: Good time

The food wasn’t too bad. Rooms could be cleaner but you are not going there for the room. Beach was awesome and pool was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

Roc Barlovento: Resort

The resort is very nice , lovely people, it seems it has changed hands to a new manager. Clean , but we had no hot water for showers, at all. We complained every day and nothing was done about it . Our stay was awesome , if not for poor water conditions . I do not think we will go there next year . We have been going to the same resort for 5 yrs Thank you , Kim King

Palma Real: Get what you pay for

We weren’t quite expecting what we got when deciding to stay at Allegro Palma Real. Walking into the loud, smoky lobby at 11pm after our flight was a little shocking, and being brought to a room that had 2 double beds pushed together and cracks in the walls we decided to give it a few days before losing our cool. We of course returned to their section every breakfast and lunch from then on! The pool was also quite good; a few rough patches around the outside that could be mended, but overall well kept and the entertainment each afternoon paired with the swim up bar made for a pretty good experience. Although the beach was across the street (about a 5 minute walk) it was definitely worth it! So beautiful! And the snack bar had decent food & drinks as well if we didn’t feel like trekking all the way back to the resort. The location near downtown Varadero was also convenient to check out different markets and restaurants when we got sick of the resort food (the fondue place was quite good!). We also went to the Italian a la carte on the resort twice, but wouldn’t recommend it - I wasn’t sure what exactly was in my lasagna and the pizzas were made on pitas. Not quite what we were hoping for since the food at the buffet wasn’t wonderful either. The nightly entertainment was quite good as well, though I don’t have much to compare it to! Overall, despite the mediocre food and the not-so-great room, Allegro Palma Real was an okay resort, that I’d be fine with returning to if travelling on a budget again in the future.

Starfish Jibacoa: Our home away from home

This is our resort. We visit twice a year. We love it! Everything about this resort is wonderful, but the staff take it to the next level. They go out of their way to ensure every guest has a memorable stay. The food is simple and very good. If you are looking for 5 star Gourmet cuisine I suggest New York, Paris, Italy or maybe a cruise. Seriously, who goes to Cuba for the food? It's a beautiful culture, with beautiful people and incredible history. The sunshine and breathtaking beaches are just [... read more] a bonus. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice Resort

Nice resort. Balcony doors looked like they were pried open with a crow bar. Door did lock but with much figeting. In speaking with other vacationers other balcony doors the same. Partitions between balcony’s had space enough for someone to crawl under. Pathways not very well lit up at night when walking back to room. It was obvious that tips were the main reason for good service otherwise you were ignored or snubbed and staff were rude. The pools and beach were beautiful. The [... read more] food in the buffet was very good with lots to choose from but need more plates available. The morning omelettes were superb. Did not feel the need to go to specialty restaurants. The rooms were clean spacious and beds were very comfortable.

Playa Vista Azul: So So Resort

The staff was wonderful, as I've found with most Cubans. The resort itself was lacking. Very little entertainment, beach was bit of a walk with nowhere near enough shade umbrellas. They boast no reservation a la carte restaurants; this is because the "privilege customers " who paid more for their stay get first choice of restaurants. If you are lucky enough to get into one, you then find out you have to pay for your wine (all inclusive resort, my eye). We only managed to go to one a la carte the [... read more] entire week. The pool in front of the lobby was spectacular, we spent a lot of time there. Next to the ride in a 1950's- something convertible car to go to the Beatle's Bar (a must) in Varadero, the lobby pool was the best part of the whole week. There was one evening show each night, but very little other entertainment. One evening was a water show in the big pool which was excellent; another was a Micheal Jackson show. The dancer who was Micheal Jackson was phenomenal. The evening entertainment staff were amazing. Too bad there was almost no other entertainment. All in all, we made the best of our week there, but will not return. Last year we were in Cayo Coco , and it was just hopping the whole time. Ocean Vista reminds me of a place I would send my mother to.
