Melia Cayo Coco: Awesome

The beach is one of the better ones we have been too. The buffet was excellent. Much better than expected. The a la carte restaraunts were mediocre. In fact we skipped one just to go to the buffet. It was a good thing as they were serving lobster in the buffet. The resort itself was very clean. The rooms were in good shape. No swim up bar in pool which was good. Very quiet place with a more mature crowd.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Needs improvement

The beach was beautiful well maintained half of the time other times quite a bit of sea weed on the sand. The room was big but dated beds were uncomfortably hard and the shower curtain let all the water through it and we had to be careful not to slip through out the washroom as it was soaked . The bathtub also had no plug and upon arrival to the room the toilet said it was hygentically cleand but when lifted the lid it had pee on the seat from previous people. The lady who cleaned our room woke us up everyday at 9:30am to clean our room which she didn't do a very good job as our 2 drinks we had on the balcony were there from the night we got there to the day we left 7 days later and did not give us toilet paper ever day so we ran out an front desk said to get it from the public washrooms which also didn't have any. The pools were nice an deep BUT only half were open the entire time due to safety issues an allgy on the sides which were never attempted to be cleaned. Pretty quiet not much going on. We had staff throughout the resort as well as the beach bugging us to get them beer everyday. The 24 hour snack bar wasnt always open especially during band's playing in the evening still served drinks but no food fries weren't served after 12am until 11am which was the only thing I was able to eat other than the pasta only served at dinner. Would never go back to this resort.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great resort

Hotel was huge and very clean,lots of walking,but, there were carts to take you anywhere on the property. Food was ok,but,remember it is Cuba,the buffet was good,as you could walk around a choose what you wanted,and the dessert table,well,you will never starve . Hotel Camino del Mar: In need of some TLC

This resort is in need of TLC & for a Melia it's a let down. They have very few palapa's at the beach or pool. It's very hard to find shade. The resort on either side of this one have lots of palapa's. The pool is a bit deceiving in the photos. I don't believe the waterfall has ran in a while now & the same bartender tends both the busiest lunch pool bar & the swim up bar - it takes a while to get served & that's because they need to have more bartenders. The beach it beautiful & that's the best part and of course the hard working staff. If you're looking for sun & beach then for a responsible price you'd probably be happy with this as your choice. It's a 3 star at the most. One good thing is that you can spend the day at 5 other Melia resorts to check them out. You can get a day pass to anyone of them, the best I feel is the Melia Cayo Coco. You can take the double decker bus from one side of Cayo Coco to the end of Cayo Guillermo. Not too bad a place - however I personally would not return until updated.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Iberostar Playa Pilar...WOW!!

We had the opportunity to stay at this resort March 20-27th and all in our group agree that this property is amazing! The staff are second to none and can't do enough for you during your stay. The food at the A-la-carts was great and the buffet always had a good selection to choose from. We enjoyed fresh battered fish and risotto at the beach grill as well as chicken wings and burgers at the Ranchon grill station. We enjoyed the board walk to lounge on and also the beach and pool areas to swim in the warm water. The room was well appointed, it has a large walk in shower, minibar, safe and flat panel TV. Sol Cayo Coco: I'm in love

No difference between sol cayo coco and 4.5 star Cuba hotels I've stayed at. I'm changing my food rating I'm just picky and not much of a meat eater. After all cubas allure isn't the food! The beach was amazing, 1 side of rock deeper and wavy, other side calm soft sand and shallow for quite a ways. The grounds were beautiful clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and excellent with my little guy. I'm not one to go to the same area twice but I would consider it for this resort!  [... read more]A bonus was the ability to go to the tryp and sol cayo Guillermo and swim eat and enjoy their beaches for free!! We had the rocareana right next door great for climbing fun!! Best evening entertainment I've seen in Cuba!! Well done❤️

Hotel Vigia: Great resort for the price for two!

This resort was in the middle of nowhere, yet facing the beach, a few feet away.. I could hear the waves at night, very calming! There are afew resorts close by,that were easy to get to by bus. We had fun checking out 2 sister hotels where we could eat for free also. I must say our hotel was the best hotel out of the two (one being TRYP) i wouldn't suggest that unless you're 21 and looking for a party and don't care where you sleep or eat.It was a rundown place. I got my clean room and daily towels, hot water in the morning (not always so for a night shower) I met the most amazing people from everywhere in Canada. Lots of families and singles too! Great kids club for families. I loved the Massage by the pool area which was very nice btw.. Drinks by the bar were amazing as was the Spanish coffee. The reg coffee was not as good. The store on the resort ripped us off, every time we bought cigarettes (social smoker) They charged double.. So be careful with the prices! There is a post however it's high up and not noticeable. I spoke to customer service about it and she said they would refund me at the store however the lady there refused so management wanted me to file a complaint and I chose do do nothing.(altho other people, at least ten told me they had got ripped off also paid 2.90 and 4.00 as opposed to 1.30 per pack for Hollywood smokes.. At the end of the day (it was only a couple of dollars more per pack) I guess they needed the extra money more then I did. The only other complaint I had and it was a big deal at first because I chose this hotel because it had a water park. The pictures confirmed this . Yet when we arrived there was no splash park..my god daughter was not too pleased until the 2nd day when she jumped in the pool and I met all the wonderful people there who helped make our vacation memorable in a nice way!. Would I go back again? Well I'm an explorer and like to check out new places however if I met the same people there next year, I would most definitely go back!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Beautiful place!

Very nice place. Everything was great. The staff are always very helpful and smiling all the time. Very clean and lots of hot water. Needs a few minor updates but on the whole it was fabulous! Everything is very near, pool, lobby, buffet, bar, and drinks too of course.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Nice resort

It was a nice resort, grounds were clean pool was nice. All the employers were nice to us and it was quiet not to crazy. The deep sea fishing was my favorite part of the whole trip I would do that again. The beaches were clean. It was very windy on the beach but it did keep you cool. My room was alright nothing fancy but it was clean

Melia Cayo Coco: Lovely resort!

We have travelled to Cuba many times. Melia Cayo Coco is the best resort we have visited so far. The resort is spacious, clean and quiet. The grounds and gardens are very well maintained. Staff are friendly and professional, always making sure your needs are met and that you are enjoying your vacation. Wonderful night time entertainment. Something for everyone. Beautiful beach. Tryp Cayo Coco: Upgrade to Melia Jardines del Rey oh yay

We got out of the airport and were emmidiately told we had been upgraded to the Melia Jardines del Rey. Great start to a trip. The Tryp cayo coco would have been just fine since we took a day trip to see it. Will always use trip central to book my vacations. Ola

Melia Costa Rey: More than expected

The Pullman resort was more than we expected ! clean rooms ,well above average food ,plenty of room at pool and beach,bar staff all very good (Wilber at beach bar great entertainer with many talents) Check in could be a little more organized and check in time 2pm vrs 4pm This is medium size resort,going to get bigger which could affect seating at pool ,bars ,beach,dining when expansion is complete.Never attended any night shows,but the venue was well set up with lots of comfortable seats.We ha [... read more]ve been to Cuba at least a dozen times (stayed at Sol in Varedaro 2star,sandals royal hicacos 5star,RoyaltonSanta Maria 5star second to none) this resort will give you a good blast for your buck 4.5 star. Tryp Cayo Coco: Wish I would of listened to the Reviews

To start: we requested ground floor room, we were on the second floor. We entered our room to a strong odor of sewage....strong enough to make us gag. When we went to turn on the light, sparks came from behind the wall bracket. Seeing it was 10:30 pm and we were extremely tired from travelling, we closed the bathroom door and pulled the plug from the wall swearing to deal with this in the morning with management and the air Transat rep. The next morning we spoke to the rep and we were moved t [... read more]o another room, which was not ready until 4:30 pm. A full day to find another room. We proceeded to explore the resort, only to find several stagnet ponds, with green water and a foul smell coming from them, again the smell of sewage. I understand the hotel is one of the originals, and they are starting to fix the rooms, but this was ridiculous. The rooms were old, the accessories were all labeled with names of other hotels, who had given them away because that hotel was updating their rooms. Walls needed paint, bathroom had no safety strips on floor of tub, shower head was connected by a rubber hose. Entire resort in dire need of good plumbing, feces floating in toilets, in the public used toilets and the individual rooms. Meals: breakfast was good, but no fresh juice ( tang for orange juice), Dinner was fair, need better selection and better choices for salads and dressings. Only serve coffee in the morning, NO coffee with lunch or Dinner??????. Specialty restaurants were exceptional. Drinks were poor, other than at the Italian restaurant, he had a blender to make a proper Pina Colada or any of the slushy type drinks, the other bars did not have the proper equipment to crush ice, Main bar in the lobby very slow, spend more time making expresso coffee then drinks...can wait up to 20 minutes. Better arrangements need to be made for quests who don't fly out until late at night, either change flight times to a more acceptable time, or make arrangements for a later check out. I am very shocked that Air Transat would even consider this hotel for their quests, it is definitely below the standards that we have always relied upon. Hope something is done so other quests aren't as shocked as we were. Bartenders, room maids and servers were fantastic. BEACH was excellent. Pool could use more than one walk in ( Steps) to enter the pool, otherwise we'll kept. Bridges need boards nailed down before someone trips on lose boards or falls through. Curtains need hooks so they are not sagging off the rod. Very disappointed. Air transat, trip central should be ashamed for allowing people to even consider this place. We rely on you to provide us with quality travel and accommodations.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Decent resort

I have frequented Cuba several times and in various locations and various resorts Since I was prebooked at the resort I wasn't able to get a room with a king bed for 3 days There was an area where there was a lot of garbage scattered beside a building The shower water wasn't quite hot enough to have shower and several food items were questionable or missing from previous resorts Luckily I brought my own coffee maker as my room didn't have one Somewhat disappointed at this resort

Melia Cayo Coco: The BEST Resort in Cayo Coco

The Melia Cayo Coco is by far the best resort in Cayo Coco and probably the best in Cuba. The rooms, food, beach and service are top notch. This was our 2nd visit to this resort and we are sure to return. Wonderful place to relax, rejuvenate and rest - the best getaway we could ask for.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

Room was awesome, service wonderful, grounds perfect, great beach(clean), pool awesome, lot's of lounge chairs all day, food so so same thing all the time, more fresh vegetables for salads. Public washrooms need more attention ran out of toilet tissue every day.

Hotel Vigia: You get what you pay for

Hotel shows it's age but they do their best to keep it clean. Staff is wonderful. Our TV and A/C didn't work,mentioned it to front desk and our TV was replaced unfortunately the A/C wasn't fixed. My biggest issue was the amount of flies in the buffet. As well as septic smells throughout the resort.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great Resort

The hotel itself is in need of cosmetic repair - not a big deal in the big picture - but it is obvious. Our room was very nice. More than acceptable. The toilets in the entire resort have a hard time flushing, but I believe this is a Cuba wide problem. The food, by Cuba standards, was very good - there was always something you could eat. The staff were fabulous - but obviously overworked - there were not enough staff to serve each area. They ran out of beer and wine on the second to last n [... read more]ight we were there.... totally unacceptable for an all-inclusive resort - I have never had that happen in any other resort I have stayed at in the Caribbean or Mexico. Our biggest complaint, and the one that will keep me ( and the other 10 people I met on the week I was there) from returning again is that there is not enough shade provided on the beach in the form of straw umbrellas and/or pillappas. For a resort of that size there should have triple the number (as there were at the 2 resorts on either side of the Melia,) We would go down to the beach at 7:30 a.m. and all the pillappas and umbrellas would be taken already (with towels or personal effects on the chairs). Also, there were not enough chairs on the beach. If you didn't go down really early in the morning, you would not even get a chair, never mind the option of shade.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Ok resort

We we fortunate enough to stay in a bungalow which was nice but my sister,her husband and two young kids we on a second floor we asked to see if they could be moved beside us, which was an upgrade they said they were over booked, so we said fine there were two rooms to the left of us that NO ONE was in all week! We knew because there was a joining door that was left open and we could walk in all week. Cons :The rooms in the buildings never really had hot water ,the staff didn't seem to care about the do not disturb sign as they woke up my sisters kids a couple times while napping by knocking on the door for water. Water was like gold there you could only have one bottle at a time even if you asked for one more bottle it was a no. Beer you could never get extra, 1 was all you would get. The food in the buffet was not great and one had 1 day of an added option. (To be expected in a buffet) but the ala carts were good but they only let you book two nights out the 7 nights. So you are in the buffet ALOT. Pros :the pool and beach were nice but you are fighting for chairs. We watched at least three fights over chairs. The pool for kids was great! Was just never cleaned. The beach if you walked over to the left was gorgeous! You just needed to walk a minute over if that. Most of the staff were nice and the entertainment for kids was great and they were probably the only ones that didn't expect tip.the resort is small but nice everything was close to walk to. Overall it was ok, to be honest none of us would go back, just based on the overall experience.

Hotel Vigia: Lovely vacation..

My daughter and i just spent a fun week at Sol Cayo Guillemro..ocean was amazing..it is an older resort but very cozy..we were in building 12 on the 2nd floor which was a little hard for me with my arthritis..tried to change rooms but said their was none so we didnt sweat it..it was clean and had a walk in shower which was nice..food was very good..they need to do renovations there and i think they are soon..anyway great week and yes i would return...
