Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing resort!

The resort is amazing, the entire property is accessible and clean. The staff are always helpful and hardworking. This property has for resorts and very accessible. We are able to see and use the facilities without any problem.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Resort was great front desk service was terrible

We went with a group of sixteen people and our experience was frustrating. I had emailed resort in advance in regards to requesting our rooms be close together and we were scattered everywhere. I requested two queen beds in two of the rooms because it was an aunt and niece in one and an uncle and nephew in another and both rooms had king beds...we requested numerous times for them to get new rooms, however we were told that no rooms were available and one guest slept on the couch in room. my r [... read more]oom had a wheel in shower that flooded the room every time we showered. I called the front desk to complain and request a new room 20 times and no one would answer ..... when the maid came with towels to clean up all the water she was the one that got a hold of a manager and still we were refused a new room because apparently there wasn't any. I went to west jet representative and finally after numerous times in the lobby complaining about so much they gave us a new room which was great however very inconvenient to have to pack up and move everything and then unpack again. My grand baby who is two years old ended up with 50 miscito bites from there room.... requested them a new room after waking up with more every day. Dinner reservations could only acccomodate us after 9 pm at night which was very inconvenient with a baby in our party. After complaining about everything else the finally got two of our dinner reservations at 6pm, however when arriving at restaurant they did not realize we were coming but accommodated us anyway..... the food was fantastic and so was the service. I was very disappointed that when arriving we were told the safe in the room was not included and it would cost us 6.00 a night.... after numerous complaints they gave us keys to the safe on the fourth day there. I love Jamaica and the service was great in all the restaurants but I found the service when we arrived and at the front desk and trying to get what we needed was extremely difficult. The entertainment around the pool and throughout the resort was amazing.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Fabulous Resort!!!

Our stay at Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica was amazing ❤️. Beautiful resort for your money, the rooms were very nice and kept clean. The staff were friendly and the customer service was above and beyond. The grounds where will kept, the pools very nice. We loved the white beaches and aquamarine ocean views. Overall spectacular trip and we'll never forget the people of Jamaica! We will be back!

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Gran Vantana

Hotel grounds are beautiful, rooms are spacious, large bathroom and clean. No Wifi other than Theatre which was poor. If you want WIFI must pay $35 a week and the safe is $ 16 a week, while not expensive generally included. Food was good a Buffett options changed daily which was great. There is no entertainment after 10 pm. Need to leave resort. The activities at the resort are repetitive the nightly shows were repetitive mostly dancing using in house staff and band. After day 3 it i [... read more]s the same. The DJ has a good mix of music but they keep the volume low . Staff were great.

Overall an average to good place to visit but I would not pay top dollars for this huge resort. some of the staff are overly friendly, but there are quite few that are rude and argumentative. we had 2 rooms with exactly the same layout, one with floor lamp at the far side and one without which was quit dark at night, it took a long argument to have one in the missing room. both air conditioners were noisy but effective. expect to pay for security box if you are a punta cana client. resort car [... read more]ts are on time and plenty. my biggest complain is when they have an event such as water-polo match, they should isolate the area so that no one crosses the playing are which they did not care at all, it is dangerous for others. Night entertainment is good but very short. considering the proximity of places and the hours of operations, like the breakfast and lunch hours of the buffet, you find yourself rushing to get from one place to another all the time, this is hardly a relaxing experience. why there can't be more rotating fans in the main lobbies, i have no idea. careful of scammers while shopping regardless of shopping indoors or outdoors. restaurants are a superficial show of luxury. overall, this is hardly a luxury complex regardless of which resort you stay in. not worth it to pay top dollars in a more expensive resort, food is the same, beach is the same, pools are the same and rooms are not much different, I wouldn't pay much just to have beach towels in my room or a few more perks that wouldn't make much of a difference in a week stay. it is a hit and miss, but if you're lucky you can get a good room for a good price and have a good time for a week.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very nice Resort

Our room is so spacious,nice,I enjoyed the swim up bar, nice beach , just frustrated on our first time to go to the beach because we found lots of seaweeds but other than that the whole place is perfect.Love it. I will highly recommend to all.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Very Disapointing

I was at this resort last at this same time, love it, that is why we came back, possibly new management, we requested 2nd floor,2 double beds overlooking the pool, arrived on the 21st at 4pm, we were put on the 7th floor over looking the busy street also King Size bed. After complaining when we arrived we were told they would change us in the morning, we waited and waited living out of our suitcases for me calling and calling until at 4.30pm on the Monday ask for the Manager we eventually got  [... read more]into our room at 5.30 Monday 22nd. Room fine , next morning someone in one of the room upchuck in front of one of the door we have to past by, it was hastily clean and remained with the soiled marks until we leave on the 28th, reason was given when we leave that floor would be closed as they will be upgrading, bet we had to live with the smell,

Grounds - very well maintained, clean, beautiful Service - very slow , communication barrier at times where the customer service desk could not assist Entertainment- well organized and put together, wonderful Accommodation- very clean and beautiful rooms Food- great selection however can be bland

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Worth the money

This resort was very nice, very good service. Lots of workers always around to help you out. Always a maid on our floor for an extra towel, toilet paper or water bottle. Whatever you need. Food was good. Lots of selection. The resort was packed full of ppl though. They never have a low season. Hard to find a chair by the pool or the beach. Beach was nice. Varying amounts of seaweed depending on the day but they are always cleaning it up on the beach. Rooms are clean and big. I liked the double  [... read more]sinks. Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: To much noise

We stayed at Grand Bahia Principe Bavaro in 2015 and loved it. We enjoyed the relaxing nights in the lobby with a nice cold drink and fresh air. We decided to come back to the same resort this year, the room was perfect and quiet but the rest of the hotel was to busy. The lobby was loud at night and the smoking everywhere was even disturbing. If we decide to go back to that resort we will definitely upgrade to Amber or Esmeralda. Our vacation was not as relax as we planned. To bad because Punta Cana is such a nice beach for a great walk.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Nice Stay

The Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana was a nice resort. The resort was clean and staff was attentive to any needs or requests. They asked to make sure our room was up to our standards and willing to fix anything that was a concern (we had little flies in our bathroom everywhere). There were lots of pools and the beach was nice. Some shopping on site which was great. They were more than accomodating helping me make calls back home when I needed to. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Samana is my favorite!

I don't like lazy Cuban service and arrogant Jamaican customs, so out of all mid-priced Islands DR is my 1st choice. Punta Cana is really overcrowded, from the airport to the beach. Samana, on the other hand is less high-fed with tourists, more peaceful. We've been to Bacardi Island before we had kids (Adults Only GBP Cayo Levantado), and it was our one and only worth-to-come-back place. Now El Portillo made its way to our favorite spots list. Check-in could have been faster, as there was only one guy distributing the keys and bracelets to our crowd, and when I asked why no one is helping him, he answered - I like to work alone. Really? Tell this to people standing in the line. Folks at the reception were all nice and helpful. Jr Superior Suite was fine, GBP's standard, all functioned well. The guy with a crib showed up 5 minutes after we came in the room which deserves a high-five, even though my toddler doesn't like sleeping alone, and we had to waive. Unfortunately, we've been given 2 double beds instead of a king as per my request, but I didn't want to waste time trying to change the room. Maid's service was good, yet she has taken off the pillow covers from the couch and never brought them back. Puzzle here. They have put us in villa 27 on the edge of the resort which is close to road, so we could hear all the motorcycles at night and workers chatter from the service buildings nearby. Despite of my preliminary request for QUIET location. And it was a long walk in the heat with a toddler who has to nap after lunch, so we had to ask for a ride which was never a problem to the drivers - always with a smile. Main buffet was good, selection was fine. Usual menu, nice fruits variety, grilled/stewed/sautéed food. One thing I don't understand though, why the hell they put out the bananas peeled? Out of sanitary reasons leave them unpeeled maybe? This way I'll have one not visited by the flies, and my child might enjoy it later as a snack, and we'll put the peel in the garbage, I promise. Their cheese and fresh bread - AWESOME! Bakers and chefs deserve a huge THANK YOU and big tips, if only we could meet them. Beach restaurant offers less variety, but there's very good nachos/quesadillas option, fresh fish, and THE VIEW. We went there for the last night of our stay for Brazilian dinner, and it was so very good - the service, the wine, the whole meal was fantastic. Kids splash park is nice, quite, and secure - the guard does watch the place closely. Main pool was good, yet it gets slippery around, even though workers do their best to keep it clean at all times. Quite pool was relaxing, too bad some guests there acted like they own the pool or we disturb them personally - it's not an adults only pool guys, read the signs. There's a Jacuzzi for adults only, and there I have seen kids, which is not cool, for sure. Finally, the reason we will come back - the BEACH! Protected by the reef it is indeed calm and shallow, pleasant to just float or play with kids. Plenty of fish to watch even if you don't snorkel. Snorkeling was just perfect - we have even spotted an octopus and a barracuda. Perfect beach walks in both directions, no other hotels there, which is wonderful. Vendors at the beach are a bit annoying at times, even though they are polite and "no, gracias" was usually enough, one guy did frazzle me out. Won't say anything about the kids club as we like to spend our time with both our kids. Animation team is hardworking and devoted. They work their butts out at the beach and by the pool. Their most loud guy talks non stop, no wonder by the time it's mini disco time he is exhausted. Then he participates in the night show, which is another puzzle for me - how on Earth he does that everyday. Won't say much about night shows, I've only watched the beginning of MJ show (kids bed time), and it was decent. A word for the management - don't waste your money on imported salmon. Majority of your guests eat it back home, fresh and much better cooked. Including the smoked salmon. Stick to local fresh fish, that's what we come for, really. Overall it was a great stay! Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Awesome Vacation - May 5-12, 2017

Grand Bahia Principe Runaway Bay was amazing from the check-in, to our room everything went smoothly. The people are so friendly. The resort is never ending! It's huge. The restaurant buffets had a large selection of food themed everyday. Even for picky eaters such as our son, he was able to find a large selection of what he liked. I have no complaints. I highly recommend this resort to everyone. We plan on coming back. De Jesus Family

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great trip!

Not a truly 5 star but still very nice. Room was huge and clean. Having access to all resorts was nice. Entertainment was fun (definitely not broadway but that's to be expected). Beach service was great. Bianca was incredible, always made us feel special on the beach when taking care of our drink orders. Lots of pools. Weather was great. Buffet was good but not amazing. Some of the a la cartes were incredible. Some were so so. Very good value for the money. Staff are very laid back and didn't go [... read more] out of their way to make you feel special. I was fine with it but I could see some people interpreting their laid back attitude as rude. For example, at the gourmet don Pablo restaurant, our server literally walked up to our table and said "what do you want." That's it. I'd go back.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Excellent resort for people with kids

The resort is great! It is indeed 5+ stars resort, but there is no access to a deep water for swimming. Lack of access to open sea can be compensated by very good pools, excellent food and friendly staff. I can advise this resort for people with kids and senior couples.

this is my second time visiting Jamaica and staying at this hotel was amazing! All the staff for the dining were so friendly and welcoming. The entertainment team was amazing and always kept us entertained and having a good time. The food was amazing and the rooms were beautiful. The cleaning staff always did an amazing job. I would recommend this hotel to everyone !

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Best resort I've been to!

The grounds were beautiful ... Very well manicured. The food was delicious. Second to none service! So much to do! Great entertainment but it could be better advertised. Only suggestion: buffet could be a little cooler in diningroom. It was a little hot.

Went april 15-22 2017. Excellent resort!! Not too far from the airport, big enough to take long walks around the resort and on the beach(es) (3 different beaches on resort - some areas had many rocks (on sand and in the water), exceptionally clean (grounds, rooms, restaurants). Always enough beach chairs. Service at check-in is a bit confusing but didn't take too long to sort out. Otherwise, service from maids, bartenders, resort boutiques, servers, etc., is amazing, very friendly, polite, even [... read more] the beach vendors didn't bother us once we said we weren't interested (to compare, we have been to cuba, dominican republic, mayan riviera, turks and caicos, etc.). Big pool, amazing water playground for kids (will definitely go back with our daughter in a few years). Good food (especially the occasional pool and beach side Jamaican jerk chicken and various side dishes). A la Carte Steak house is the best. The Buffet was a bit repetitive but enough variety for the week (except for breakfast), but everything was fresh, tasty without being to spicy (no stomach issues for my husband and he usually has some on every single one of our trips!) and plenty for everyone. Not too many organized activities (always the same ones at pretty much the same times - yoga and pilates at 7 am on a vacation was a bit too early for me and not offered at any other time).
