Palace St. Martin: beautiful island, awesome resort!
Hotel is great, staff are very friendly and cheerful, grounds well maintained, room was very clean and beds super comfortable, beach is splendid and food was extra-extraordinaire taste-wise, variety is good but limited.
Grand Memories Varadero: Sanctuary at Grand Memories was fantastic
The resort was well planned out. Staff all helpful and informative. Clean, lots of choices for food and drink. Variety in entertainment, pools and beach activities. The sanctuary area was a step above the rest of resort and gave us an additional level of attention and services well worth the upgrade.
Riu Santa Fe: Just barely OK
The hotel was just OK. The location was great and we loved the beach. The buffets and food and beverage overall were not good. As well the hotels bedding was disgusting. The hotel does not have electronic keys so we were worried about security and who else may have access to our room.
Riu Santa Fe: Can't wait to go back
We absolutely loved the resort. Staff was great and the breakfast and dinner buffet's were amazing. The location was perfect, beach, pools and views were incredible. We had ocean view in building 7. Highly recommend an ocean viewith when booking. Well worth the money.
Sol Turquesa Beach: memorys sucks
to much walking to many stairs the rooms wre dirty it felt like i was in a jungle and not the tropics way way to much walking i would not tell any body about this place and i will never go back to cuba again
Riu Palace Paradise Island: great resort
Went to this resort with my two children 9 and 5, the rooms were adequate, a bit dated, did not like the carpet in the rooms as opposed to tile or something else, balcony's were great for an ocean view, hotel needs a bit of work, but the staff was excellent, food was great, room service was great, pool was really good, gets a little crowded but can handle it, over all a great vacation, beach was a bit noisy with vendors as well but I expect that, just say no and they are fine with that! great va [... read more]
Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Excellent service
RIU Palace turned out to be one of the best vacations we have had....excellent service, comfortable rooms, a great choice of restaurants with very good food, excellent and clean gym, and with smiling staff all over.
Riu Emerald Bay: Amazing
Truly spectacular. Can't wait to go back to the Riu Emerald Beach in Mazatlan Mexico on my next vacation. The people there were extremely friendly and the weather there was fantastic. Absolutely no regrets
Riu Santa Fe: Good with flaws
Wish we'd stayed the the Riu Palace. Food was bad and staff was not very friendly. Entertainment staff was extremely repetitive. Need to up date their music at pool. Great beach and excursions. Suites were very nice. Standard rooms were very standard
Grand Memories Varadero: Great Resort!
My friend and I had a wonderful vacation. The resort was clean and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing vacation. The food is comparable to other Cuban resorts, but we always found something to eat. The various pools offered both entertainment and relaxation - the beach had multiple chairs and offered drink service. I would consider returning to this resort in the future.
Riu Palace Costa Rica: Great resort
Transportation to and from airport was good. Check in was very fast and efficient. Grounds were beautiful, rooms were very nice - bathtub in the middle was strange but they were clean, well supplied and comfortable. Food at the buffets were very good - Thursday buffet had loads of lobster - delicious. Several pools ranging quiet to active - no issue getting chairs. Drinks were good - service as well - better when tipping. Entertainment was good. Beach was nice to walk but not an area to swim. Mo [... read more]
Riu Guanacaste: Amazing resort, great vacation
Highly recommended resort. It's a solid 4+ star resort, with great amenities! If you're visiting during the high season (Dec - April) and want to explore Costa Rica on your own, please make sure that you book your car rental in advance... It's tough to get a rental and they are usually at $100+ a day. Also you'd be well advised to book an SUV, there are plenty of unpaved roads!
Riu Emerald Bay: Very well kept resort. Staff was very helpful
Everything in the room was great. The grounds well maintained . Will go back. Transportation to and from the airport was easy. The food and the selection very good. I loved the idea the plane ride was not that long. We also met some great people on this trip.
Riu Ocho Rios: Great resort
This is a beautiful hotel with nice rooms, service and entertainment. Everything is located right near the beach, so you can eat and look through palms at the sea. Amazing view! Our family had the best time ever at this resort: plenty activities from beach volleyball, soccer, aerobics to other fun activities at the pool and at night. The food was so wonderful and way too much! Whenever you go and whatever time you want, you can find food and eat. There was Monday beach party that you must to att [... read more]
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Good resort for price paid
Hotel was fairly decent for the amount paid. Hotel rooms were very clean and quite up to date. Food was fine and location of hotel was excellent. Only drawbacks were the elevators as they kept breaking down and at times they only had 1 going and you had to wait for anout 5-10 minutes to get on one that was jammed with about 15 people. Being located on the 11 th floor, it's pretty hard to go up and down stairs. Secondly was trying to get reservations at one of the 3 specialty restaurants. We wait [... read more]
Riu Merengue: Loved the resort
Riu Merengue is a great resort. I loved how all three resorts were attached. If one pool was busy we could just go to the other pools. Overal great experience but hated the locals pestering on the beach.
Riu Playa Blanca: Not What We Were Expecting From A RIU Resort
Lovely beach with lots of loungers available for guests ( we were there in November). Overall buffet restaurants had a good selection of food but the Asian a la carte was disappointing, since it was just another buffet. The room was fine, but the local area humidity was an issue causing a musty smell in our room, which we noticed upon our arrival. Pool maintenance needs to be addressed, such as water cloudiness of the poolside bar and missing pool tiles in the main pool area.
Sol Turquesa Beach: Great grounds but not dining
The resort is beautifully set in green scenery with nice swimming pools. Dinning was my worst exepierience ever. I went 8 times to Cuba and never complained abut food. This time was a huge disappointment! There was not ready cooked meals like in most resorts buffe. To get something to eat you need to wait 20 min. in line for cook to prepare food and sometimes when you get there there was no more. Christmas Eve gala diner was disaster. To get to the buffe we were waiting 25 min in line ( and in o [... read more]
Riu Playa Blanca: Great resort
The staff are all pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The grounds are well kept, clean pleasing to the eye. The pools and beach are clean and maintained. The food was good, there weren't breads or desserts for celiacs.
Sol Turquesa Beach: Lovely place with terrible food
The resort is very nice and the rooms are spacious. The beach has lots of sun and shade and we never fought to get a chaise longue. The food however was not only not very good but they were constantly out of many products. The buffet opened at 6pm and by 7pm the trays were empty. Thank goodness I don't care for the pasta because the lineups were upwards of 20 minutes and there were not even trays of plain pasta with tomato sauce for kids to take. Even at the snack bar that only serves sandwiches [... read more]
