Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beautiful resort

This hotel is beautiful, we enjoyed our stay. Food was good, people were friendly. Our room needs improvement, such as: bathtub did not work - did not fill. (was looking forward to a spa bubble bath). Toilet ran all night - two of the four lights did not work - Television remote had batteries but could not change channels, had to do it manually, and it would come on in the middle of the night so we had to have the remote handy to turn it off!.(finally just unplugged it!). We did not have a  [... read more]complimentary umbrella - towel cards - blanket in our room as stated in the in room message from the maid. It took three days after calling the front desk to get the umbrella, we had to go get the towel cards from the pool and I had to borrow my sisters blanket. The day before checkout I asked how much for the long distance call I made to Canada and was told it would be $3.00us, at checkout the next day it was increased to $6.00us? Just a parting note to people who have mobility problems, ie using walkers, wheelchairs, canes etc. It is a very large complex and getting to around it can be difficult and frustrating. The hotel has stretch golf carts which must be requested and unfortunately do not always show up. The site maps are confusing and don't reflect the current situation, wheelchair ramps are not marked, location for beach towels are not all marked. Last words.....If you like long walks to get to anywhere at this resort, then this one is for you. Thank you....18123

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Absoutley Beautiful. Have been here before and would go back again.

We have visited this resort in the past and all is remarkable there. Would visit again. The food the staff aim to please. Rooms are very clean. All the grounds are impeccably kept. Have recommended it to a few different friends. My son is the one in our family that visited there first. He told us all about and we booked.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Almost the paradise

It is a wonderful place, with a perfect infrastructure, with some lugo finishes, it is a majestic hotel. Their rooms are comfortable, clean and beautiful. It has its own restaurants within the hotel but you can also make reservations at the other hotels in the complex. Their pool is very clean and beautiful. All the staff are attentive and friendly. Summing up is the perfect paradise !!!!!. Would go back thousands of times.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Huge resort, great beach,pool and food!

It was a great hotel, lots of staff, very friendly. The resort itself is huge, the food is great, especially the Brazilian restaurant. They have a great aquatic park for the kids. The service was good, the rooms are not really quiet, as we had a small child it was a bit noisy on the main floor some nights. There is a lot to do, but relaxing and comfortable and clean. My only peeve is having all the chairs "reserved" with beach towels by 7:30 and then no one being there most of the day..that's th [... read more]e same at most resorts I think.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue

We just returned from a 1 week stay at the Ambar Blue. This was our 4th week and 3rd stay here. Always love the Ambar Blue. Close to the beach, pool, restaurants and our room. The workers are exceptional and the property is truly Paradise!!!. A couple of items we noticed. Their entertainment has improved tremendously. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing Resort!

We had a great time at the Grand Bahia Príncipe Coba! The food and service was great. I had a couple of concerns coming to this resort. Neither turned out to be a problem at all. One being the distance of the resort from the airport. Hardly noticed it either way. Second was the beach being a bit farther away. Again, not a worry at all. With all of the trolleys going we never had to wait. My kids loved the water park. I would return to this resort in a heartbeat!!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Had a great time at Grand Bahia Principe Tulum

Myself and 6 of my friends took a trip to Mexico May 10 - May 17 2017 and we had the most amazing time. We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum and were very happy with everything! The customer service was amazing they made sure we had everything we needed and If we had an issue it was solved, the rooms were well kept a cleaner came in every day, the mini fridge was always stocked with chips, pop and beer, the food was the best food I've had at an all inclusive and offered a large variety, t [... read more]he beach was amazing if you walked down closer to the reef you could see hundreds of fish, we saw turtles and sting rays right off the beach too which was so cool and spent a lot of our days at the pool, the drinks were always well made and the excursion we went on was a lot of fun. We got to snorkel in fresh water cenotes, zip lined and repelled, were served a nice lunch and we got to see the beach of tulum and the ruins. Our excursion was an extra $130, but very worth it. I would 100% recommend staying at the Grand Bahia Principe Tulum, there was always something going on, whether it was a magic show, acrobatics, day time pool activities, on site casino and club and trollys from the Coba to Tulum. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: AMAZING!!

This resort is incredible. Food, pool, grounds, people. Everything just amazing :) We did a couple day trips also....everything was organized and no problems at all. We would highly recommend this resort.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Awesome Place

Had a wonderful time at this resort. The food was excellent, service was great. Rooms were clean. Loved the trolley as we were in the middle & a bit of a walk to either the beach or lobby. Everyone was so friendly & even learned some Spanish! Definitely would go again.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: So so

The resort was beautiful, but the bed was damp for the entire week of our stay. Even after talking to the maid, nothing was done . one day we did not have a comforter for our bed, another day we did not get restocked on coffee. Lots of bug bites all over my body. The food was great beach was beautiful and entertainment was awesome.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Luxury Bahia Ambar Green excellent resort

This is a fantastic resort. I stayed here last year at the sister resort Ambar Blue and it is a fantastic resort as well. The beach and beach bar staff are great. The staff were constantly walking around taking drink orders from the resort patrons. There were plenty of loungers/chairs on the beach even though we always arrived at around 10:00am every morning. The bar staff were very efficient looking after orders from patrons. The liquor is top shelf with national and international bra [... read more]nds. The beer consisted of 2 brands and was/is very good. The rooms with the exception of one day, were cleaned day very quickly and efficiently. There were plenty of face, hand and bath towels left in the bathrooms everyday. The mini bar was stocked every day with water, pop, beer and mini bottles of liquor. The beds were a little hard but did not prevent us from getting a good nights sleep. There was a minor issue with the safe which was taken care of very quickly after a call to the service desk. With this resort, you can have a different a la carte restaurant every night. All of the a la carte restaurants were very good. The food was excellent with many different dishes to choose from and the service was excellent as well. We had the Dominican, French, Mexican, Italian, Steak, Japanese, and the buffet for seafood on Tuesday nights. There was some construction ongoing next door but it only occurred during the day and early evening and did not prevent us from getting a good nights sleep. We usually tipped the room cleaning staff, bar staff and restaurant staff for the excellent service. I would highly recommend this resort to family, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: great family vacation

The hotel met with most of our expectations. The food was good with a wide selection for everyone's taste. The beach was amazing and always a place to sit and relax. There was a pool to match your mood for the day, quiet, kids activities, party, music...something for everyone. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the shuttles ran like clockwork. It was huge so that did take a little time to find your way around. There was a lot of misquotes so make sure you take a lot of bug spray [... read more] with you. The lobby is open and not great ventilation so it is quite warm in there all the time. The air conditioner wasn't working our last 2 days there so that made for a very uncomfortable sleep since you couldn't open the door due to the bugs. Not a lot of evening entertainment after the show but we were fine with that since the sun seemed to make everyone exhausted by 11 anyway.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Fantastic resort

Hotel is very clean and grounds are well maintained. The restaurants are great and the food at the buffet was awesome. Great beach for snorkelling as there are a lot of reefs and you can walk on the beach for miles. It is a small resort so everything is very close so doesn't matter which villa they put you in. We are definitely going back to this one and we travel a lot, rate it 9 out of 10. Thanks Bill at trip Central for the recommendation!

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Had a wonderful time Pros and Cons

What we like. We liked that we could book a al cartes ahead of time. Sandy Nichols of Tripcentral made those for us ahead of time, and we got exactly what we asked for. The grounds were meticulously maintained. The staff was always working to keep things nice. Great Palm trees, excellent powered beaches which were racked continuously to make our stay nice. The food was above average with lots of choices. The rooms were spacious and cleaned with care daily. We made some additional requests, and [... read more] they gave us what we asked for. What we didn't like. Vendors on the beach hovering. Vendors on occasion blocking the main path, so as to steer you to their tables. Had no trouble getting beach towels, but each time, they tried to sell you an excursion.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Would never return

The 'Meh' 'Not my problem' Resort. I can whole heartedly say - we will never return to Grand Bahia Principe Tulum. This is the worst resort we have ever experienced. There were a few positives, but these were overshadowed by the mass of negatives. This resort is absolutely huge, and the fact they have so many guests - the majority of the staff don't seem to care about the standard of service they give. We attempted to book our a la carte reservations on the day we arrived - we were only able to book 10.30pm reservations for the end of our vacation - nothing else available at all. We were able to secure an earlier reservation at another restaurant but only after speaking with guest services. On a positive note La Gormet restaurant was pretty good. The food in the buffet was mass slop. Often sat out for too long, and not consistent temperatures. Some days we lived off pizza and fries because everything else was flavourless mush. We are not picky eaters and have been to multiple resorts in Mexico - this is the first time we have struggled to find something at a hotel buffet. We were part of a 40 person wedding group, which was specified on booking and confirmed by the bride prior to our arrival - we were on the absolute opposite side of the resort to everyone else. I know close rooms can't be guaranteed but it would have been nice. During the wedding guests were told to be in the lobby for 2.30pm to be transported to the wedding ceremony. At 2.45pm no transport had arrived and when my fiancé asked he was told 'call wedding coordinator not my job'. Our room itself had broken air conditioning. We reported this 3 times and then gave up as nothing was done about it. It made for some uncomfortably hot nights sleep. We also woke up the morning after the wedding to find no running water, and we had one evening with no power in our room. These latter two problems were fixed but not promptly. The night of the wedding we found a room service menu in our room and called for room service. We were told 'is no for your room' and to go to the snack bar. It said nowhere in this menu it was only for certain guests. We went to the snack bar and found scraps of food , we asked the staff if more would be coming out and were ignored. We went back to reception and inquired about paying for room service as at this point we were ravenous - we were told 'no for your room' and when we asked how much it would be to add it on we were told its not possible. When we checked out the manager had a note of our problems on file and said 'we could have added room service to your room no problem' but this was obviously too little too late. We complained about the above on multiple occasions and were told the manager would contact us. On the last day we received a letter telling us to speak with a guest service manager. At this point we just wanted to enjoy the last of our trip. On check out the manager spoke with us, we did get an apology but it was very much brushed off that we didn't speak with them soon enough to rectify the issues - although we did raise the concerns during the week as they happened. By the end of our week we were ready to leave, fed up of almost being run over by golf carts every where we went and generally unhappy looking staff. If you have got this far into reading my review - I will say we still managed to enjoy our trip on the whole, but this resort is far below the standard advertised. Do your research and go elsewhere - there are MUCH better resorts in Mexico.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Satisfying vacation

I got this package for a "deal", so our room in the Luxury part of a hotel was facing the noisy road with no-muffler motorcycles and cars constantly driving on, especially could hear them at night, so we had our balcony closed most of the time. The shower stall was not draining, so no long showers. We told about the plugged drain to a few people on the staff, but nothing was done. The Luxury part of a beach did not have enough shaded loungers, so was the situation around the pool. We would ha [... read more]ve to get up early to reserve the seats, because around lunch time it was impossible to find any shaded spots. But I have "enough" early mornings during my workdays and we like to sleep in during our vacations, so we just had to walk to distant part of Grand Bahia to find shaded loungers. The food was very good, the staff in restaurants very helpful. The trips were organized nicely. The Luxury part of this resort is suitable for younger people who do not mind the noise of "happy" vacationers. Overall atmosphere was very positive and upbeat. Would we go back? Most likely not, we would want to experience different style of resorts.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Shocked and annoyed to be there

everything was beautiful but the people, service and the locals. I found out that people like locals are allowed to stay in the resort for 65 dollars a night, this is from people of all backgrounds from gangs, hardworking and even prostitutes can come onto the resort. As a 5 star hotel you are expecting safety, reassurance and fun while staying on a resort not worrying about your money, your well being and your overall security. the beaches are beautiful, the food was terrible, same thing every  [... read more]single day. and the pools were dirty as well as the washrooms. the maids could not clean the room properly but it was always half done. I had the same dirty pillow cases for the full week I was there, all the room was made up and done with the same old ass sheets. there was cockroaches, dead and alive ones, they never had fresh towels I always had to ask for some and the mini bar stuff as well. I would never ever go back and I would never ever let my family either, stay far, far away from this resort. it is a unsafe, gross and nasty place to go spend a week.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Shocking and scared to be there

The hotel was beautiful, the ocean was gorgeous and the lobby was easy to access because of the carts. This is the only positive things I have to say about this location. The maids were rude in the 20 section, the place just wanted us as tourist to buy what they had. the excursions were based on sales pitches and trying to make us spend money rather than show us what the Dominican was all about. they had a lack of understanding and trying to converse with people of a different nationality. over  [... read more]all I would not ever go back there and I'm glad my trip is over with.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great For The Value

Food and cleanliness exceeded my expectations for what we paid. The beach isn't great but we still spent 2 days on it. Lots of pools and games. Staff very annoying in lobby selling time shares. Do yourself a favor and ignore them completely. Some of the trolley drivers are irritating as well. They play games and say they aren't going places, but a for tip it's no problem. Really not a big deal once you catch on and depending on what villa you stay there will be lots of walking. Hacienda is fun with a casino and lively disco if you want to stay up later. Never really waited too long for drinks or food. They do shut down a bit early but there are 24 hour snack bars. It's is a little far from the towns but it's a pretty lively resort so we always found stuff to do, and lots we didn't get too. If this is your first time going to Mexico I'd think you'd enjoy it. For us we had a great but would probably try somewhere else next time.
