Riu Vallarta: Riu Vallarta Dec. 2015
The hotel is getting old and it's showing. We paid for a junior suite and the room we got was bad. Dirty linen, rock hard bed and a tub we were going to fall through. People and food really good though. Because we went during Christmas and paid a higher price, we felt like the hotel didn't reflect the price.
Riu Guanacaste: amazing place
loved everything about the hotel and Costa Rica. The people are great and very helpful. the weather is fantastic. the hotel food was the best I ever had a hotel. The rooms were very clean and kept that way every day. What can I say, it was perfect.
Riu Palace Pacifico: Great resort!!
Service was excellent! This was our 2nd time there and everything was perfect. Excellent food, lots of variety, different themes every night, you don't even need to reserve other restaurants, the buffet is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful!
Sol Turquesa Beach: not a location for seniors
Too many steps to get to the pools and a lot of walking. Went to the beach and got bit by some bugs that produced blisters. Had to wear my sandals for one week after returning home, not misquitoes but perhaps sand fleas or noseeums? Very painful blistering bites I still have them after 10 days. The beach was not raked, full of seaweed. Not impressed at all. Staff were friendly. Buffet was okay as long as you get there early enough we went on evening around 8pm and they had very little to offer.
Riu Playa Blanca: Good Family Resort!
This Hotel is fairly new. The staff keep it quite clean. There is however mold in the showers... Their are 4 choices for restaurants for dinner. All were really good! Japanese, Italian, Steak house, or Buffet. You have to book your choice every morning, kind of a pain, but it makes it more fair. The resort was decorated really nicely for the holidays, and they put on a fabulous Christmas Eve dinner! There is never a problem finding seats around the pools or at the beach. The trees on the beach a [... read more]
Riu Vallarta: Very nice family resort
The good: This hotel is huge and well maintained. Staff are well trained and friendly. Our room is large with a King size bed. We also requested for a crib for our two years old son which was great! The main buffet has lots of options and good and plenty. There is also a second smaller buffet by the beach(Flamingo) which opens all day for a quick bite. Cappuccino at the lobby bar is very good. It has two pools, one for the kids. Entertainment is great with kids programs every night. It may be to [... read more]
Riu Palace Costa Rica: Family friendly resort
The pools and the beach were fantastic. The room was ok for a Riu Palace. The whole family was very disappointed by the food and wine at the resort but the pools and beach made up for it. Lots to do off the resort. We recommend zip lining and the ATV jungle adventure.
Sol Turquesa Beach: resort was under renovations
The resort was being renovated. After hearing memories had just taken over a year ago we had diamond club which didn't make much difference. Not all alacart.restaurant. Were available I paid extra for a room upgrade and the sunwing rep said it should have been included in diamond club upgrade this is the third memories cuba I've been to in three years. The staff was awesome friendly as usual, but are still learning. Booking from here, my travel agent said there were only a couple seats available [... read more]
Riu Palace Antillas: Relaxed and rejuvinated. :0)
We stayed from Dec 7th to the 14th /15. a wee bit windier (according to the locals and repeat travelers), if this is the worst people have to complain about please put a sock in it, Yes the hotel is still being updated, but that is too so a non issue. The weather (hot and sunny every day), "food" way above just being good (more like a higher end buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the specialty restaurants, we hit all three, "Italian twice") and finally the staff, everyone we had [... read more]
Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: amazing resort
i really like the grounds plenty of shade, very clean, great food ,lots of entertainment both day and night . I would recommend this resort to any age.I guess I am a bit biest i have been to this resort 5 times .
Riu Negril: Good resort
The resort has been renovated and is very clean and beautiful. The grounds are clean, rooms are nice. The food is good, lots to choose from, they have a different theme every night so it changes a bit at buffet. The ala carts were not that great, went to two because they were hard to book and ended up at buffet. In the evening there is not much to do, there was a show which was ok and a sports bar, no disco or casino...which we thought there was, people left the resort for that but we didn't fee [... read more]
Riu Playa Blanca: 3-1/2 to 4 star
I've stayed at several riu resorts over the years and they have been either 4-1/2 or 5 star resorts The Riu Playa Blanca didnt meet up to the 5 star rating it was given, not that it was a bad resort but didn't have the bells and whistles (coasters under your drinks on tables, no waiter service around the pool or beach, food was ok but nothing outstanding to tell my friends about, pools were all wading pools ... Nothing deeper than 4 feet For the most part it was good overall with pleasent staff [... read more]
Riu Palace Paradise Island: Rui -- not up their standards
Sadly, I expect the Rui to be consistent everywhere. The people and the food were great, however, the rooms were not. The floors were carpeted and very dirty. I found I had to wear shoes all the time just to keep my feet clean. GROSS!! The rooms need an overhaul. The staff were nice but they cannot be blamed for the resort. The showers at pool side just spit out water. The beach is disappearing.
Grand Memories Varadero: Decent resort but food ruined it!
Large resort with well maintained grounds and nice rooms, A/C great. Food needs improvement as lacking fresh fruit/veggies at both buffet and al a cartes. Fresh made omlettess were good but other food often not hot and beverages like milk and juices did not taste right. Sadly I was sick from the food after first day and came home with a bug and needed antibiotics. Will not return to this resort or Cuba when there are better places to travel to.
Riu Guanacaste: amazing resort
Rooms were nice.....grounds were beautiful. ....food was great.....lots of monkeys and iguanas. ....I will go back to this resort.....the sooner the better....This place is definitely a five star.....miss it already!!!!! ...
Sol Turquesa Beach: Great place! Amazing Food! Amazing Place!
We just got back and it was pretty great resort. Clean! Didnt bother going on excursions, still had a blast. Live show was entertaining, snack bar was okay but buffet food was great! The selection of food was pretty sweet! Wasnt really happy with the Nexus trip agent, wasnt informative at all. People at the desk do not look at you while talking to you, quite rude. Docking points because of them! Everyone else was great! Didnt have a mosquito problem, people may be exaggerating a bit.
Sol Turquesa Beach: Great Memories at the Memories Holguin!
Hotel Overall Unbelievable how clean this place was kept at all times. the grout between the tiles was cleaner outside, and everywhere, at this resort than my own bathroom. The staff are constantly cleaning the grounds to ensure that it stays picturesque. Size Memories is quite large. I remember reading this in some reviews prior to my departure and it is 100% true. When checking in, try to ask the concierge for a room closer to the pools or beach, otherwise you will regret the long walks. Foo [... read more]
Riu Negril: great resort great staff
Hotel is a good location. Beach is excellent with nice mix of sun and shade. Great for walking. Resort is on Bloody Bay close to Negril. Food is good. Steakhouse was excellent. Buffet met our needs all other nights!
Riu Palace Aruba: Excellent overall expirience
hotel was beyond expectations. Clean, spacious room with a great view. Housekeeping for the room exceptional. The beach is perfect, the pools are great, the people that proved services are always smiling, always show respect and attended to our needs immidaiatly.
Riu Palace Antillas: Great resort
I think the property is well looked after with great staff ! The pool area & bar well done , happy staff . Food choices are very good ! Buffet changes every night so you never know what's up for lunch or dinner.
