Moon Palace Cancun: Very nice 5 star hotel

Huge complex There are 3 resorts that you can access the Sunrise, Nizuc and the Grand. We were able to got to their lobbys and have drinks or food no problem even though we were in Nizuc and the Grand is a diamond elite. Hotel is very clean, staff is nice, food was excellent, pool area you have staff that brings you food and drinks to your chairs. You have an APP for Palace resorts that you can download on your phone, you can reserve the restaurant's from there, you can order room service, you can order coffer and etc and have it prepared ahead of time and grab and go at the coffee shop. You can also order extra towels, drinks, bed and even toothpaste or toothbrush to your room all free of charge. There are shuttles to go from lobby to lobby (bus). There are also 8 passenger golf carts that bring you almost everywhere in the resorts. There is a kids pool area in the Sunrise, a surfing wave pool in Sunrise that is free. There are watersides in the Grand but these you have to pay per day. There were live bands playing songs by the pool from around 1PM to 3PM in the Nizuc that played 80s and 90s music which was nice instead of the dj music. Overall very nice and highly recommend.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: royal decameron bucerias

perfect example of an older 4 star Mexican hotel kept in good condition, food was great, 6 a la carte restaurants and 2 large buffet as well as other smaller restaurants serving breakfast and mid day snacks. 5 pools, an adult pool, an activity pool and the others are a mix of people, directly on a beautiful long beach ( maybe 5 miles long) but murky water with powerful waves. good nightly entertainment and a disco. Never food or drink shortage, closed to grocery stores and Walmart should you need to buy things. the town of Bucerias is very lively and within walking distance. A casino is nearby, Mexican market for souvenirs. The hotel still use old fashion keys which should be replaced with electronic cards, same for the free safety deposit box.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Loved this resort

Amazing grounds, beautiful nature and so well maintained and cared for by the incredible staff. The food was excellent, from the buffet, to the a la carte restaurants, and especially the little extras like the taco shop and Star Cafe for great coffee. We ate so well. There is so much to do at this hotel. We loved the pools and Star Camp was also terrific for the kids. Beach was beautiful even though there was some seaweed that the whole coast is dealing with. Amazing waves and beautiful clear wa [... read more]ter. Sunrise beach yoga with Isabel was a favourite activity for us and a great way to start each day. Our room was so comfortable and big. They brought in extra beds for the kids, it was perfect. We also loved the water filtration system which replaces so many plastic bottles.

Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres: Could be a great resort

This resort has great potential, but needs to work on a few things. I am not sure about this because this is my first resort since Covid, but you need your phone for everything. My husband and I try to stay away from our phones while on holidays. It is impossible at this resort. You need to go on your phone to find out all of the information, especially to make reservations for dinners and to get burgers at lunch. Our safe did not work and we had to call every other day for it, eventually we gave up and hid our stuff. Food was okay. Lunch was the best and you could always gets seats at the beach. The employees were all extremely nice and helpful. Resort was nice and big. Lots of walking. Overall it was a 4.

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Not impressed

First of all location is great, beach area is mostly rocks now. Upon arrival entered room, had no save and no working phone, apparently they don’t have clocks in rooms, had to get a safe and phone fixed . Room was so noisy due to the open lobby with entertainment and loud drunk people in hallways all night, went next morning for a room change , told we would be second floor ocean view and balcony, waited until 4pm to find our room on third floor with a window. Talked to people that have been going for years, they say it has changed so much and won’t be returning. WONT BE RETURNING TO GHIS PLACE,!!

Riu Dunamar: It couldn’t be any better

We made a last min decision and booked a night before departure but in reality we couldn’t have picked a better choice. Staff are amazing. Hard working and all smiles. Rooms are big and clean . Pools are great and bars are very generous in their dispensing. Beach was nice…plenty of lounges.

Sandos Playacar Beach Resort: Great Resort!

We stayed for 9 days, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The concierge Viviana booked all the restaurants for us, and they were all excellent. The steakhouse was OK, they did not cook the steak very well. Buffet had a good selection, and the staff were prompt and friendly. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach, but the grounds are exceptional. Lots of green landscape, flowers and trees on your walk, plenty of shade. Lots of activities, and since there were 4 pools (some for adults only) t [... read more]here were always lounge chairs available. The beach is beautiful white sand that you can walk on. Playacar is in a secure location, security at all the gates to enter this neighbourhood. Several resorts within Playacar. We used the bikes one day, which are free, and biked to "5th Avenue", shopping district, which is just steps away from the Playacar gate. Entertainment was very well done as well, appropriate for children and adults. I would rate this resort a 10 overall.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Nice hotel but I cancelled my March trip anyways.

Nice hotel, been here at least 10 times. butlers not pro-active, lots of new butlers with little concept of customer service. Coupon vouchers not honored. Constrution ( 1 to 2 shovels breaking rock in the distance from 7 am to 7 pm 6 days a week ) although not loud was constant. When your upstairs on the penthouse balcony, it was irritating. Bar service slow. 5-7pm afternoon bubly white wine with bite size food was nice but cheap. They called it champange. Shows ok, but no more. Buffet was good, [... read more] food signage was poor. Sign said chicken, it was fish. Most soups were very good. Alux and Mikado a la carte was very good. Ask for Silverlo at Alux and Edgar at Mikado. Tip them well ( 20 -25 dollars USD ) and see what happens next time you go. Beach was horrible, only rock everywhere ( elderly people beware, if you go, make sure you have good insurance ). Beach in front of Kay resturant was the best. You have to pay for food, not part of the resort but you can use the beach. Transportation directly to Kay beach availible every 50 minutes from Sian Ka'an. Once you get the right little cart, ask to picture the schdule. I was a black bahia member and was able to go eat at any place I wished. Akumal buffet very poor, tulum beach rest. was good, but long wait to get food. Drinks everywhere took time and weren't strong. Wine was ok. Hotel 100 kms from airport and 75 mins by bus. You have to leave the hotel at 8:30 am for a 2:40 pm flight. I was so disappointed with the butler service and construction that I cancelled my March 8 - 22th, 2023 trip. Paid $9600.00 CAN for 2 weeks in first class with Air Canada Vacation. They didn't mention anything about the construction. Nice going AC, how many couples did you scxxw over by not mentioning the construction. Even being a black member, I didn't get the room I asked for. (As a black member, I was suppose to get it.) All in all it's a very nice hotel but not worth what Air Canada is asking. DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE BEACH AND CONSTRUTION !!!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Under staffed and long waits

Not great- but perhaps I’m a snob. Hard to get reservations in restaurants even being privilege. They refuse to accommodate larger parties than 8. Food is just ok and sparse. Often waiting for the buffet to be refilled. Only one bar tender at pool bars making getting a drink a 10 minute affair. Often hassled to become a member of their timeshares. Walls we moldy in rooms- I could go on and on. We had an amazing time because we make the best Of anything. Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Lovely holiday

We waited a long time for the west jet bus when we left the airport. It was an hour after we got our luggage until the bus left. Our names were not on the list. They put us on a bus and added our names. We arrived at our resort around 8:30 pm and we ate right away as we were very hungry. Everyone and everything was lovely after that. Service great. Food great. Entertainment staff were amazing!! And weather was perfect. We had an amazing week!! We had no hot water one morning but th [... read more]ey fixed that right away!! When heading back to the airport we did not have to go on a bus again but a van picked us up right on time and got us to airport in plenty of time. We hope to go back with our family someday and stay at Akumal so we can enjoy the beach more. Great trip!! Thank you Wendy!!

Riu Dunamar: wonderful resort

the food was superb, the grounds immaculate, swimming pools were very clean they just needed a deeper end. The beach was awesome but unfortunately couldn't spend long there as it was so windy. Unfortunately not much to do other than the beach and pools, suggest something like miniature golf, shuffle board, pickle ball, bicycles with a path around the perimeter of resort. Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort

This resort is beautiful and huge! It's accommodations will suit everyone. From kids club, to privilege buildings, there is lots to do. The entertainment is great day and night. There's a bowling alley, club, shisha lounge. Lots of good food varieties and great drink selection for even non privilege. Resort is clean and well maintained rooms are very comfortable and well kept.

Samba Vallarta: Hotel and location ar

The Hotel is old but well maintained and beautiful location Grest Besch Nice pools Most staff is very good some a little slack (probably new) but friendly and helpful. The Hotel needs better management to Upgrade Food was always cold with Little change And poor selection. Average to poor specialty Resturaunt Bar service was great but Little selection of Good Quality drinks and the Daily shows were Poor to Pathetic This is DEFINATLY not 4 star Quality more like 3 or 3 1/2 at best. Decameron Isla Coral: Noise

This hotel is about 1 hour outside Vallarta and in a different time zone! There was no one who spoke English there when we arrived. Blasting music with full Bass from 9am to 11pm. No shuttle, No Alacarte

Grand Oasis Cancun: This was a prison

This was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, food wasn’t edible, line ups for days, it’s an extra charge for everything. You don’t get a safe in your room without paying for it, they don’t restock your fridge unless you pay for it, restaurants were impossible to get into . But if you payed you could get a table in the empty restaurant you apparently need a reso for .. it was very unclean and the rooms were a joke, as well as no wifi outside the lobby. Flamingo Vallarta: Great resort

The rooms,yard,lobby where clean and looked good . Staff was awesome Sherman was the awesome cook . Marina area has great entertainment, restaurants even though we where at all inclusive we ate at the restaurants a few times as they had entertainment. And wanted to support the area . I will be going back

Flamingo Vallarta: Absolutely Amazing

This place was absolutely beautiful. The grounds, were very well maintained and staff was so polite. Even though we did not know Spanish they taught us and we taught them. The cooking/ waitress/ bar tenders were all very helpful and polite. I would definitely go back.. very clean place.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Top Tier 10/10 stay

Just spent a week at this resort and it had a wonderful mix of all adult ages and types of guests. It was a mature crowd with a great mix of party and chill. A smaller resort that was easy to navigate and we never waited in line or thought it was crowded. FOOD WAS AMAZING!! From buffet to all the restaurants we enjoyed everything we ate. No line ups at any time of day and you didn’t need to book in for reservation. Food and drinks were available at multiple locations until 10pm and food and d [... read more]rink was 24 hours but in smaller Selection. Room service was solid but could take an hour depending on time of night. Beach wasn’t the most amazing although we were fine but you also have access to your neighbouring resort 5 min walk which has a fabulous beach. You’re a $20 cab ride into town (avoid the shuttle, not worth it) and Playa has fun for all ages. I even loved the sports park they have that includes Free batting cages, paddle boarding, rifles, archery and more. Staff was accommodating and we didn’t have any issues with anyone trying to push things on us. We brought a couple hundred US with us to toss around for tips for the week and could not have been happier with the level of service. All in all I would 100% recommend this resort to nearly everyone. Being 40 now we still hit Coco Bongo but again the resort was a more Mature crowd and I would only not recommend if you’re 20 years old and looking to really giver Hahah, hit the Hard Rock. Grand Oasis Cancun: STAY AWAY

Where do I start? I’ll start by being asked to write a review for this resort by me was a BIG mistake. How’s about I get into some details… food is probably the worst I’ve had in the world(I am well travelled) one of my travel companions stepped in human feces and when told to the resort staff, they said “what would you like us to do about it?” Room was cleaned ONCE in 7 days. EVERYTHING was an upgrade, including WATER and $8/night to use the safe. All I am saying is read the fine p [... read more]rint. Bars close at 12:30am. When I confronted customer service about our stay he offered ZERO solutions and when pressed further just told me to read my booking. We didn’t book the pyramid level but we also weren’t the palm level but felt like we were almost homeless. NEVER AGAIN will I consider this chain and further more I will actively commit time to making sure others do not as well.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: 1st time definetly not the last.

We had been going to Cuba for 35 years, things were sliding there so we thought we would try Mexico and this Resort Chain. The resort was amazing, the Staff, the food, the amenities everything would be 9 3/4 out of 10. The cost was twice as much as Cuba but well worth it. The grounds of the resort were beautiful and vey well kept. The rooms was great, we were in Building 4 nice n quiet and very very clean. The maid was fantastic. Beer, pop, and water were delivered every day for the mini b [... read more]ar. Food selection was off the charts excellent excellent excellent. Variety of foods served was great and diversified every day. Steam tables were always hot - cold trays were frosty. The grounds are huge so walking was great in the morning - you can use their inhouse shuttles around all 4 resorts but be aware that all-inclusive is only at Coba (one beach bar when at Tulum resort) - longest wait was 15 mins but other shuttle drivers were happy to take us. A la Carte restaurants- mixed reviews from our group of 6 - worst for all was Thali (Indian), best was Brazilian & LeGourmet. Mixed for Nikkei (fusion). As for Mexico, it was very safe don't believe everything you read. If you're up to no good (drunk, argumentative) that may be a different matter. We took the public transit (Collectivo) to Tulum ruins and did the tour ourselves there was 6 of us. Lots of National Guard presence so we always felt very safe. I would do Mexico again and this Resort. No second thoughts and I am a tough critic.
