Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Loved our stay

We loved our stay! The only blip on an otherwise fantastic experience was the fact that we booked for a King room and got 2 double beds. Otherwise we loved the beach, the service was great (staff were so friendly).

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful Resort Luxury Bahia Principe AMBAR Adults only

I was originally booked for the Esmeralda as it had turned it to an Adults only resort from Jan 2017 to May 1st 2017 and then they turned it back into a Family resort, so I cannot add anything about Esmeralda except that I went to the Bella Italia Restaurant and it was very good. I stayed at the AMBAR Blue 2 years in a row now and this is an excellent resort if you are looking for Adults only resort. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Best Trip ever

We will definitely be returning to this Resort. It was our second visit here and they did not disappoint. All is very well maintained, rooms, pool, grounds. Food is great as ell as service. We had the best time. Denise & Ron LeBlanc

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Family Resort

It was a nice resort with lots to do for the family. They always had something on the go. You could enjoy the fun by the pool or you could head to the beach. The beach had quite the seaweed issue this year but the safe worked really hard to keep it cleaned. Everyone was friendly and always willing to help out. I am not much of a buffet girl but they always had something to choose from. They definitely went the extra mile for us as a large group and we were able to have dinners together most evenings as a group.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Good Resort

We have been going to this resort for the past 9 years and once again selected it for our vacation. After being there many times we have certain expectations regarding service and amenities. This time we were somewhat disappointed in the amenities. The rooms are getting older and need some upgrades. Took two days to fix the issues and only fixed it after our insistence that we wanted to speak to a manager. The service in the restaurants and food quality was good. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fabulous Resort!

It was my first time ever being to an all inclusive resort, let alone one so beautiful! Everything that I imagined was met at this resort. I had one of the best weeks of my life. The staff were welcoming and inviting. Everytime you passed them outside or inside, they would greet you. The room service, bell boys, and bar tenders were amazing! Cayo Levantado Resort: Terrific jungle island experience - by far the best we've experienced thus far in DR

This place is extremely well done. The service and waiters have impeccable manners. We were raised with excellent manners, most big cities don't even understand proper etiquette but everyone on Cayo who was working there did. Service fantastic, food fantastic, we are extremely experienced world travellers and have been very fortunate in our lives to experience 5 and 6 star places regularly. WIFI was already strong and I was able to work remotely throughout my stay with no issues. Fruits, vegetables, meat, fish - all of it super fresh and high quality. I swam about everyday in the ocean - excellent weather and climate. Beautiful birds and ambience at night. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and we loved the people on the resort - DR is a special place filled with love, music and nature - if you like those 3 things then this is the place for you. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Wow Amazing

The resort was amazing, the food delicious and no compliments about any of the restaurants. We were fortunate enough to have a room ground floor next to the pool and ten steps from the beach. Wonderful for us. Only black mark against resort was the "beach towel" issue, they never had enough towels. We only got dry or clean towels twice in two weeks. They need a little flag or something to let people know when towels are available, people show up at the towel house only to hear "no towels" e [... read more]very day same thing. Just let people know somehow, like a flag, clean towels, no flag, no towels. The staff goes over and above in all depts. People so friendly, entertainment good each evening. Everywhere very clean. Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Ambar Blue

First I will get the negative out of the way. We stayed at this resort for two weeks We had visited it about 5 years ago. The biggest issue with this resort was the construction next door. On some nights they were pouring cement and making noise all night. Definitely would recommend a room away from the construction. We tried to move but could only get a room on the ground floor which we did not want. We gave up trying to move as everyone on the construction side was trying to move and we ac [... read more]tually felt sorry for the desk staff. The only other issue we had was exchanging beach towels. We would try 3-4 times a day and they were always out of towels. The rooms are nice and they are clean. What you would expect. The staff were friendly and helpful. Yes some couldn't speak much English but that is to be expected and they tried hard. We did not spend much time at the pool as the beach was awesome. You had to get up very early, before 6am if you wanted seats in the first two rows. There were lots of seats further back. We had no issues with the food. The buffet had lots of choices and most of the restaurants were very good. The only exception was the oriental one at the Ambar Green. It was to hot to enjoy the meal. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning in the future.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Anniversary trip!

The resort was clean, staff was for the most part friendly, there is always one or two. Freddie and Armondo at the main lobby bar provided outstanding service, best tequila shots ever! Weather was outstanding, only one day with a brief shower. We enjoyed our stay. The resort is huge, so make sure you are prepared for walking or taking the trolley.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Mush needed holiday

The majority of the hotel on a whole was good, the food was excellent. The one complaint we have was some of the staff were less than nice. Some were down right rude, these were mainly the staff at the bars on the beach and some of the staff in the restaurants. There was one person on the breakfast station making fresh pabcakes, eggs etc. She could not do more than one service at a time and could not cook eggs at all. She was very nasty if you asked her to make an omelet of fried eggs which  [... read more]were eith over cooked or under cooked. I would highly recommend that she be taken off the station and be given a job that did not require people contact and cooking. On going problems with the tolets not flushing properly, we were offered a plunger but that was about it. The last day of our visit the maids just made our beds, no fresh towels, no clean glasses and they did not wipe or clean the room. Checking out was frustrating, we had purchased some items at the hotel store and we did not have money on us at the time, we were given an option to put this purchase on our hotel bill. When checking out they were not going to provide me with a bill for the purchases rather simply took my credit card, it was only after I asked twice that it was provided. Painful to watch this person get me my receipt she was extremely slow at providing this. I questioned the bill as there were three charges on the bill and I had purchased two items, she indicated the last charge was optional some sort of tip ( of course it's in Spanish so had no idea what it said). I asked her to remove the charge it was approximately $10.00 American so since we are Canadian it is much more. Wonder how many people actually just pay the bill and not look at this extra charge. I find this quite concerning since that store is part of the hotel. Although I would recommend this hotel I would warn the people of the extra charge should they have purchases on their room bill. Also would explain that the resort has some issues mainly with the pluming In the rooms and the bathrooms around the pool and beach area.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: So so resort

We stayed in the royal golden section the rooms were clean but dated there was not updated bar in frig as advertised. The staff were very polite and helpful. The grounds were well maintained. The resort was very big and very confusing to most people .all the different part of the resort were all intertwined. The pools were very well kept.long walk for breakfast always to main lobby. Food was abot 3.5 out 5 always find something to eat. Good starter resort for people

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Very good 4.5 star overall

Very good rooms in Ambur Green which is the 2 yr old section. Food was above avg. service at times was below avg but other times very good. Room cleaning was very good, mini bar service at times was lacking. Beach was very crowded and would be worse at peak season with 5000 rooms fully booked. A la carte dining reservations very difficult to get even with 60% occupancy which was the most disappointing, buffets were very good. Entertainment was actually very good for middle age and above

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Fabulous Resort

The grounds, rooms, pool and beach were amazing. Booking the restaurants was a nightmare. Most of the restaurants we couldn't get into which given that we paid for unlimited this was not acceptable but there were plenty of other options. I would suggest booking reservations prior to your departure as the main lobby staff are not helpful.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Amazing resort!!

Entire stay was great. Resort was amazing-everything was clean and well maintained. Food service left nothing for you to want for-selection, variety and quality were great. Pools, activities, entertainment were awesome. The staff of the resort really made our vacation memorable, they really went out of their way to make our stay special. We had my daughter's wedding there and it was perfect. The wedding planner was so helpful in making everything perfect.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: What a view!

The views from the Luxury ( buildings 25,26,27) are amazing! The arrival and check in: transfer from airport took a couple hours because we waited on the bus for an hour before everyone was on. The trip was an hour and they had beer for sale on bus. No bathroom so we stopped at a hotel as we dropped someone off. Check in: Air Canada took us to a different part of lobby to do our own check in, unfortunately there were 30 people and you couldn't hear so people just started gabbing their own keys,  [... read more]they should have just given everyone a drink to calm them down and welcome them to hotel ( just saying). Food: all good. Bars: lobby bar great atmosphere, sunset bar (martini bar on the water to watch sun set, oh ya no dry vermouth to make a real martini, just all flavoured martinis), pool bar ran out of ice each day and bartenders constantly running up and down stairs to get bottles from part of bar on the deck side ( I'd suggest having bottles at both spots, lol). Service: hit and miss, some excellent servers who acknowledge people by eye contact others who need some customer service training. Way too many waiting with their hand out - tip or not the service didn't change ( btw We tipped 30 US at dinner one night because the service was amazing and she didn't imply she was looking for a tip). Daily entertainment: good. Other: beach party in the afternoon was a blast! Memorable moment: hotel manager in full suit wading into the pool handing out ice cream to everyone in the water! Overall beautiful resort, very clean, nice beach, golf down the road was fun, some staff amazing some need work. Oh ya remember you are in Jamaica and it called for rain everyday and yet it didn't rain once (April 10- 17) . And finally, you are in Jamaica so relax and enjoy your vacation - if you have a bad time there is only one person to blame...

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Wonderful resort!

This resort is beautifully kept. The grounds are immaculate, pools spotless and common areas are all kept very clean. You will see all staff constantly working to maintain this high level of care. The rooms are lovely with a sitting area with a small table, desk and sofa. There is either a king four poster bed or to queen four poster beds. We were in a king the roo is spacious and very clean. Al a carte restaurnts that we dined in were all very good with good service. The buffett is excellent with lots of variety even for the picky eater. Overall we had a lovely stress free 2 week stay. Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Don Pablo Collection April -May 2017 Ontario Canada

Very good location in Runaway Bay. Excellent room vey spacious and very clean. Friendly staff for the most part except some of the hostess not always cheerful. Ex. Jasmin open at 7:30am we are there at 7:28am and they make you wait:( . Check in should be revised we couldn't get our room as promised which is 3:00pm. Have to go to the reception many times to follow up. Restaurants reservations as well. We couldn't get the Italian and the Mikado because of restrictions. Booked on the Luxury Don Pab [... read more]lo Collection we should have priority over the Bahia side. Yet every place we went the restaurant was always half empty. Don Pablo was disapointing compare to our visit 2 years ago. Garden Grill we were rushed , the waiter was overloaded. Order a steak medium rare came raw not cooked enough. Takada should closed food not good and cold. Jasmin was excellent buffet. Picasso and Rodizio were far the best 5 stars. Beach restaurant near the pool was fantastic , jerk chicken excellent. White wine was adequate but the red was awful. Main lobby bar wasn't organized bartenders were all over the place. Beach were great. Will come back maybe. This was our second time at this resort been in Jamaica seven time. Overall still was a very good relaxing vacation. Weather which is not controllable could be better it rain everyday for long time (half day). First time since we been in Jamaica.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Beautiful Resort..

Overall the resort was great. We paid 20.00 a night extra to stay on the Adult side..well worth the upgrade. The only complaint was the resturant bookings were very late..I booked all of them as soon as I got there. There was not much entertainment in the lobby bar. Thank god the guys from Halifax were there entertaining part of the week. All in all we were pleased with our stay. Oh the other thing was I tried t get info for the golf before I left.. that I did not get. Thanks Gina

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing vacation!

I'm so glad I talked to Jenn and she got us this vacation! Staff treat you so well, they try to accommodate you, very clean place, amazing food! Tour bookers wouldn't refund our money for an excursion when we were sea sick from a previous excursion. Travelers book excursions carefully but other than that we all had an amazing vacation!
