Club Kawama: Nice vacation

Location is good. Rooms okay. No hot water for showers. Food was what we expected for Cuba. Nice restaurants near by if you don’t want to eat at the buffet. Beach is beautiful. Bring bug repellent if you are prone to bug bites. Sand fleas attack. Always umbrellas and chairs on beach. Overall we had a good vacation. Good value for money we paid.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Amazing Location

I love this place..friendly staff..the whole outdoor setting...awesome! Great location! Entertainment was great.....Very clean...Bathrooms were closed off due to plumbing problems for my last three days..was very inconvenient to go to the other one on the other side of pool???

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: rocky staret to vacation

Sunwing was late leaving Halifax for no reason it seems therefore we were late arriving Cuba supposed to be 8PM . The service on flight was very poor. I had my snack garbage on my table until announcement for landing, not any crew member came to collect so I threw onto th floor beneath my feet to be able to place the table in the locked upward position for landing. The space between seats in front was very small I now know what a sardine feels like in a can.When we arrived at our destination we [... read more] had to stay on our hot stuffy plane for about 45 minutes waiting for a gate. We arrived at hotel about midnight for check in. Hotel gave us our room where we proceeded to find the room did not have any door on the safe, no towels and phone not working so we immediately went back to the lobby to request a change or room issues fixed. We did get another room eventually only to find this room also did not have a door on the safe, the refrigerator was not working;there was water all over the floor, so we were than told to stay here for the night and another room would be available the next day. We were now hungry, so we found the 24 hour snack bar to eat, then back to our room only to find the air conditioner was on high and could not be turned of. We spent a cold first night shivering in our bed. Next morning we were told a better room would be available at 3;PM in the afternoon. We spent our first day very unsettled and was ruined due to bad planning by hotel for in coming guest. I would never stay with this resort ever again and will never again fly with sun wing .

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: could use improvment

grounds and public areas were lovely. rooms were not cleaned adequately. buffets and meals were very good. problem areas could be dealt with more quickly ie. the elevator was not working properly for 3 days so had to use stairs with a very bad knee. requests made many times with no action even after discussing requests with guest services manager and promises to rectify. bar fridges need to be better stocked 1 bottle of water and 2 beers every 2 days is not adequate. aside from many unpleasa [... read more]nt issues we did enjoy the resort very much. for the most part we just accepted the shortcomings.

Melia Las Americas: Beautiful- Exceeded expectations!

The hotel pool areas were beautiful and well maintained. Beach was immaculate. We had booked a suite in the Level section. It’s a must! Gorgeous, spacious and modern. Excellent beds and selection of pillows. Walk in rain shower. Level section also had two private air conditioned lounge areas with premium alcohol and snacks. El Limincillo restaurant is beautiful and beachside- a fabulous quiet place for breakfast and lunch with amazing capucinno. Beach and pool areas had service. the rooms needs some updates ,everything else was very wonderful .elevator was not working at all times.some issues with cleaning rooms & fulling the bar fridge also 1 bottle of water for couple of days.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Nice Resort

This resort is a small resort, which we do prefer. It was our first time staying here, check in went smoothly and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The welcome cocktail was a super nice touch. As stated we prefer small resorts but we did find this one somewhat too small. Not in room numbers or people numbers but in outdoor space. It seemed like a lot was crammed into a small geographical space. The outdoor sitting at the lobby bar only had 6 small tables which were fill [... read more]ed all the time. Your next choice to sit outdoors with a cocktail was on a pool lounger, if you were lucky to find one. We've done other small resorts and found the outdoor spaces to be more spread out Food was good in the buffet, however they seemed to be lacking in glassware and utensils. Staff were very attentive at clearing plates away, one being taken while I was still eating from it. One evening we observed a waitress removing used water glasses from table, dumping the contents into a bucket, wiping it with a rag then putting it out for use. From that point on we took our own bottled water to our meals and stopped ordering a glass of wine. I didn't however see this happen again, just that one time. We didn't get to try the a la cartes as it seemed we didn't make it down to breakfast in time to book. The resort is clean, staff are constantly cleaning and mopping floors. Our room was cleaned to perfection every day and our maid was amazing!! The lobby washrooms were clean most of the time. I was approached in the bathroom by a staff member asking if I had any gifts for her. The main draw for us to this resort is it's location. Right in Varadero and close to our favorite restaurants and shopping.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful

The resort was gorgeous and very clean, almost all the staff were personable and provided top notch service. The housekeeping staff were great but the hotel room was very musty due to the humidity and the AC, my only other issue was the food, not great however I understand the economic issues with that and I knew that prior to going. The excursions were the highlight, amazing experiences and fantastic tour guides. All in all a wonderful vacation

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Excellent Resort

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Iberostar Laguna Azul from February 14-21, 2019. The staff was very friendly, polite and professional. Rooms were very tidy and comfortable. Food was excellent and so was the entertainment. Swimming pools were great and the beach environment was, needless to say, excellent. We were blessed with excellent weather for the whole week! He is very fluent in English, very knowledgeable, with an excellent sense of humour! The a la carte meals were very delicious indeed. Will definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

Paradisus Varadero: Be careful about which section you book

We were very disappointed with the accommodations in the older, unrenovated section. The stained tub, ratty shower curtain and lack of a proper shower head were a nuisance. But the fact that the air-conditioning did not work made our stay intolerable. After multiple complaints we were upgraded to the Family concierge section, which was a vast improvement. Lovely, clean, modern and working A/C!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Nice resort but not 5 star

The A La Cartes were very good. Lots of variety from Japanese, Italian, Cuban, etc cuisine. The buffet was disappointing. Food displays were unappealing with limited choices. The omelette for breakfast was the highlight here. The room was musty and air conditioning was not working well. Did not get fresh towels and new drinks every day. Bed linen was not fresh. Most staff were friendly. The pool and beach areas were very nice. Gardens were well maintained.

Melia Las Antillas: Paradise Perfect

Everything is just perfect. The facilities the food and particularly the great staff. The fact that it is between both Varadero and Havana is great. One of the best beaches in Varadero the flight by Sunwing was trouble free and on time.

Be Live Turquesa: below average

hotel as usual placed me in a very old, damaged room, the next day I moved to a renovated room, this has happened both times I stayed here. The room was not well cleaned. The stairway and halls were very dirty. The walkways are very uneven and the grounds are not very large. The pool is small. Beach is great, but life guards do not pay much attention to people swimming. Food was poor and repetitive. Waiters and waitresses were very good, frinedly I find that the exchange rate is high for qua [... read more]lity of hotels, I tip less as Cuba has become quite expensive. All in all I will certainly never return to this hotel.

Starfish Jibacoa: Amazing views but you’re on your own here

Amazing resort for the location and the views. Service was awful, nobody truly cares about helping you. Food was awful even for Cuba, water was not given out. No water bottles in fridge. We weren’t taken care of well .....for easy going travellers with low expectations, we were let down here.

Melia Las Antillas: Great place!

Hotel services are very good and hommy. Overall, it was worth every penny. I must say Hotel staff are amazing! We had such great time there. Well , a ceiling light was dead in our room, but it doesn’t bother us. Most of time, we didn’t even in the room. We spent most of our time in The beach and other activities. Oh the toilet in our room had a bit trouble when flush, other than that everything is great!

Playa Vista Azul: it is just an OK ressort.The information wasn't accurate.

The food was terrible, very small buffet, meat not cook right, too mush or not enough. Sheets on bed too small, off all the time.Beach was showing nice big beach and was about 100 feet wide, very small.They told us that the restaurent on beach was open 24 hrs wrong.Shade on beach not nice.Chairs system bad.Tennis good no shade.

Sol Varadero Beach: Beautiful Hotel, Awful Service

We stayed at this hotel for one week (first time in Cuba), and we found the resort lovely. It's right by the beach which was a bonus. It's beautiful and well maintained and also very safe. However, the service we received was terrible. We decided to eat at the snack bar most of the time because we didn't care for the buffet (no flavour, not appetizing), and we would have to wait approx. 20 mins just to get a hot dog. Half the time they didn't even have their full menu (hamburger, hot dog, ham &  [... read more]cheese or chicken sandwich). We tried tipping the staff to ensure we could get good service, but they didn't care. They couldn't care less about customer satisfaction nor did they care if you had to wait on them being lazy. Also, if you were to ask them to add an extra piece of cheese or ham on your sandwich (because it comes with only one piece of each) they would tell you no. I would rate this a 3 star experience just because of the location and maintenance of the resort.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Wonderful Resort

I would give this hotel 4 stars. The service is a little slow and the food was bland but the a la carts were amazing!! Staff were amazing, room and view were beautiful! Towels and water had a bad smell. The resort itself and beach were beautiful! At lot of walking. Overall, amazing experience!!! Will be going back next year!!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Iberostar Laguna Azul

Wonderful beaches and pools. Staff is friendly and helpful. We had a few inconveniences like a lack of Wifi (pay $1 CUC/hr.), shower head plugged with deposits (no water pressure in shower), no hot water one day and remote to TV broken but replaced. Although these things happened, we had a great trip and excursions were easy to book. Food at buffet was okay but the Japanese a la cart was fantastic. Coffee was so tasty if made individually by the bartender. There is a spa on the fifth floor, [... read more] sauna and change rooms. It has small shops throughout for purchase of souvenirs/necessities and entertainment every night. Overall a nice place to vacation with the family.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Good value

Be Live Experience Varadero was a nice hotel with decent food options. The pools were nice and there was no issue with getting chairs. The beach was gorgeous and activities were fun. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Our only issue was that cigarette smoke kept coming into our room through the bathroom vent. Overall, we really enjoyed our two weeks at this resort and would go again.
