Ocean Riviera Paradise: Something for all ages

Great service, great food, lots of activities to do, great amenities, close to Playa Del Carmen, great beach buffet. Only thing I didn’t like was how aggressive the lobby and beach sharks were, always hounding you

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Outstanding Resort

Everything was just great, the food, the services, the room with view, the cleanness, the transportation and all resort lobby. But also the fact we had access to all sub-resort sections it was great as well. Also a special thanks to our waiters at the main Akumal buffet, Luis, Neyfi and Fabian! There were just great and provided an A1 services!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Wonderful vacation!

The Grand Sirenis did not disappoint! The grounds are immaculate, the employees are very friendly, the rooms clean and spacious and the food was awesome. Only drawback was the seaweed problem making swimming undesirable. The air conditioning in the room had a hard time keeping up to the weather.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Great resort!

The resort was great. We stayed on the Adults only side for only $10 extra and it was well worth it. The pool area there was great. There was daily entertainment at the pool and a nice swim up bar of course. All the pools were nice though, we just stuck to our adults only one. The beach was not great. Full of seaweed and rather rocky so we stayed at the pool instead. Food was great! Buffet was always good as well and they held special themed buffet nights outdoors two times while we were there. Rooms excellent! Very beautiful, spacious, toilet private from the rest of the bathroom, two sinks, nice shower, jacuzzi tub. Bed not the most comfortable but manageable. Very nice balconies. Shows were good at night. Downside was the H10 Premium staff who worked at the hotel for the parent company I guess, harass you when you check in. They wouldn’t let us go to our room right away because they said they had to go over some information with us. Ultimately they are trying to sell you something. We just found them rude and pushy and he got mad at us when we weren’t as cooperative as he probably would have wanted us to be. But he was trying to make us sign some paperwork we didn’t know what it was and just wanted to go to our room. After that sour moment at the start, the rest of the vacation was amazing though! Would likely go back to this resort!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Excellent averall

The hotel blue bay grand Esmeralda was fantastic, it’s just annoying that you can’t do night swimming on the pool as it closed at 7pm. On the bright side you see that they actually maintain the pool... the stuff are friendly and helpful and respectful. I like that they are attentive and give me my privacy depending on what I need. I really enjoy my stay on the resort

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Amazing experience and resort!

We absolutely loved this resort! The rooms and beds were comfortable and clean, the set up of the resort was easy to navigate and there was so much to experience! The resort was beautiful but overall the pool and entertainment staff were our favourite parts. They kept us feeling welcomed, engaged and we loved the experiences in the pool all day! Highly recommend this resort.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Customer service is #1

My husband and I, as well as two other couples visited the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo from May 5-12. We have travelled to a good number of resorts in the last few years and were impressed by the level of customer service at the Lindo. The resort is beautiful and staff were always working hard to keep it that way. The rooms are lovely, grounds are immaculate and food was great. This is one of 5 resorts in the Iberostar complex, which as a whole was huge but each resort was nicely laid out. There are [... read more] lots of dining options. Our favourite was the beach shack. They have a very well staffed bar there and a snack shack that offers fresh burgers, hotdogs,french fries and nachos, as well as individually wrapped sandwiches, salads and fresh fruit. The only negative thing was the large amounts of seaweed in the water. This is something the resort has no control over but they worked endlessly to try to remove it from the beach. Lastly, a huge shout out to the concierges who are present in each building and work tirelessly to keep their customers happy. We would definitely return to this resort but would probably try to travel at a time when the seaweed was not present.

Grand Sunset Princess: Big and very well maintained

We had a very relaxing time at the Sunset Princess. Service was stellar, food was very good at the ala carte restaurants and there were plenty of activities. Would definatly go back. The seaweed issue at the beach was a bit of a problem but that was Mother Natures fault.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Nice resort

The resort was very large but was well layed out. The food was fantastic. The rooms were cleaned daily but they did not do good cleaning of the floors. The pool was very dirty. The guy serving at the pool bar was fantastic and he should have had some help. The beach was terrible .... you could not use it for swimming due to the seaweed. They tried to clean it up but there was just too much. But having said all that, if is a nice resort and we enjoyed our vacation.

Grand Riviera Princess: Wonderful mother/daughter vacation

This resort had everything we were hoping for plus more! Beautiful grounds that are kept extremely clean, the staff are all very friendly and respectful. Entertainment crew are very social and outgoing and the evening shows are pretty good but are more tailored towards kids. Drinks were unreal! Restaurants were all amazing except for the steakhouse. The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Not happy

We paid for pool view and we received highway view. The staff told us that the hotel was full so we tipped the guy at the counter to “look harder”. Finally we got a pool view room. There was loud construction in the unit directly above us so my baby could not sleep during the day. The resort was obviously not at capacity, we met lots of people who said that their neighbors room was empty. The room next to us was empty all week. The food was nothing special. The food in Cuba was better. Very  [... read more]difficult to even get a coffee. I got gastro while I was there. The doctor on the resort only accepted 150 USD cash just to be seen (The resort doctors are free in Cuba). I would never go back to this resort again.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Excellent resort - impeccable service

Secrets Silversands is a great resort! Smaller than some which makes it easy to navigate. Lots of pools from the very lively to the secluded. Rooms are huge. Service outstanding all through the resort.

Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Top of the class resort

We spent 11 amazing days at Iberostar Quetzal in Playa del Carmen and it was absolutely fantastic! People did their best to accommodate us. Front desk team is very professional and did a wonderful job to make our stay memorable. Thumbs up to Francesco for being so efficient! The waiters were all so courteous and polite. We never had to fetch for our drinks, restaurant / beach / pool.... Especially loved the Italian a la carte resto, wood oven, fresh pizza and home made pastas. Attentive service from all and especially from our server Nathaniel! He was so nice, made our dinning experience Top of the class! The Méditerranéen restaurant had nice hors d’oeuvres and good selection of fish snd seafood. The natural exotic jungle forest was so wonderful, every day we would see beautiful peacocks, pink flamingos, toucans, monkeys tree hoping! Waterfalls everywhere, amateurs of nature will be amazed by it’s beauty! Pool is impeccable, as is the entire resort! Daily musical entertainment on both sides, Tucan & Quetzal, nightly shows are pretty good also! One of the perks! Foam party in the pool!!! If you are looking for a quality resort next to Playa del Carmen, this is one of the best! Been at Riu, very loud all day long, sometimes you like peace and quiet and Iberostar has the perfect balance of entertainment for all ages! They actually have staff walk around during the day to offer you fresh towels!!! Never have I seen such service and I have been to Riu’s, Paradisus, Melia’s, Palace many luxury resorts and this place is not as flashy or new as others but has much more to offer in terms of memorable experiences. Loved the wide, sandy beach, very well maintained considering the seaweed situation in the Caribbean. 5 star hotel Would love to go back and learn more about Iberostar memberships it was a great resort thanks to the great people that work there 😊

Barcelo Maya Palace: The truth and nothing but ...

First of all don't fly Air Canada Rouge. The seats were very uncomfortable. Compared to Air Transat is far superior. I thought when we were booking from agency that they would have first hand knowledge about the resorts condition. Let's say they was so much seaweed it was unbearable to swim and the smell was so awful. I was very disappointed because the conditions where like that for over 4 weeks. We should have been notified before booking. Also we had some issues with the room. Fir [... read more]st of all the phone was broken, the bar fridge wasn't working. No hot shower on two occasions. Also the sinks wouldn't drain and if you turn on the tap the water would spray out of the sink. We saw a bug that looked like a cockroach. The resort failed to tell us how to book for the restuarants. I also had a medical emergency and went to hospital. The resort /management never asked how I was feeling or if I was ok . Just on that premises I would not recommend this resort.

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Fantastic holiday

We were more than happy with every aspect of the resort. From amazing food to a fantastic view from the room. All the employees were very pleasant and helpful. The only issue upon arriving was finding out that we had been moved to a different room. We had initially reserved a ocean view room to find out it wasn't. It was worked out the next day and moved to another room by lunch. Other than that it was a fantastic holiday.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Beautiful Resort

The grounds and public areas were spotless and beautiful. Always someone working on the grounds. Unfortunately, the beach was not very nice due to the seaweed problem, which they worked on daily but there is just too much of it. The pools were great and clean. The only problem is not with the hotel but with selfish vacationers who think that they own the lounge chairs and spots for their whole vacation time. They arrive around 5:30 am and reserve their seats for the day and most of them [... read more] do not arrive till after 11:00 am! I believe the hotel should try and control this by not allowing people to put their towels out and disappear for hours on end. I was told that if I saw this happening all I have to do is go to the Reception and have someone remove the towels. That is ridiculous, there is no way I am running to the reception every day! They should have someone monitoring the pool areas and removing the towels. Instead of paying a Butler, that people don't really need, they should simply pay someone to take care of the reserving of seats! Food was great, restaurants were good, but they should have more choices at the restaurants. People working at the restaurants/bars, work very hard and do a great job of ensuring you have all that you need. Cleaning staff do a wonderful job and all in all no complaints, had a wonderful time at this resort!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Nice resort

The grounds were nice, some jungle areas with lots of wildlife. We saw deer, raccoons,capabarras, iguanas and quatis. The pols were great multilevelled for relaxing, swimming or suntanning. Plenty of activities to do like foam party or a zip line across the pool. Food was good plenty of selection. Our first room had a broken a/c so we were moved without any fuss. It turned out to be a nicer room with a walk in shower and double sinks. The room safe was included as was wifi for one device. The be [... read more]ach was nice except for the seaweed. It was all along the coast at most of the resorts and by late afternoon you could smell it. They were raking it up constantly. But The seaweed issue is not the resorts fault it’s all over the Caribbean.

Platinum Yucatan Princess: Beautiful resort, amazing ammenities and out of this world staff!

We visited the Princess Yucatan for a week and were blown away. The staff remember your name and are extremely accommodating. Its in a great location with tons of excursion options. The multiple pools are fantastic pools with great events daily as well as nightly entertainment in the theatre. Really enjoyable week!

Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya: Excellent resort!

The resort is absolutely amazing, however be prepared to walk as it is very large. Not complaining as the amount of fabulous food you eat, you need the walks...The reason we went there was to snorkel, however due to the seaweed that is on every coast we were limited unfortunately (no fault of theres) as they worked diligently every day to try to remove it but way too much to handle :(.
