Riu Palace Peninsula: Amazing vacation!

This resort was fantastic! Extremely clean, awesome staff and amazing food! We chose this resort because it was rated a 5* on trip centrals website. It absolutely is and you won't be disappointed if you choose this resort! We can't wait to return! ☺

Sol Turquesa Beach: good value for the money

Great beach and nice resort, the a la carte restaurants were good, the buffet is ok. It's a good value for the money, the rooms need a face lift, but forthe time you spend in the room, it's not an issue.

Riu Palace Antillas: wonderful resort. Aruba is a beautiful island

Allsion Briesen, the assistant director went out of her way to ensure our stay was exceptional. Grounds, beach, pool, dining facilities were fantastic . The paddle boards and kayaks were included with the resort, great fun

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great experience even in the rain

The food was amazing along with the staff. My only suggestion would be to NOT stay on the 15th floor as only one elevator goes up there and we found house keeping took a long time to clean that floor. I will say the view is amazing from the higher floors though. Also we did find that the gym equipment did need some updating as some of them had rust on them. It did rain for 2 days while we were there and the staff tried to have things for you to do which was much appreciated. Word of advice we go [... read more]t from a couple was to take the water taxi instead of normal taxi to go over to the downtown as it is cheaper. Overall I would go again.

Riu Santa Fe: Better than expected!

Good food good times and sun everyday. Couldn't have asked for a better week in the sun for my girlfriends birthday. The resort delivered her a complimentary bottle of tequila on the day of her birthday as well. Some nights had a few too many partiers which was its only downfall. But it was maybe two hours at most of noise. It didn't affect us very much. I would go back in a heartbeat. Try to ignore the beach vendors too. We mostly stayed at the pool but the beach vendors were annoying at times.

Grand Memories Varadero: Geat resort but needs better managment.

The resort is very nice but has a few issues with customer service and with the food in the buffet. Traveling with 2 small children we ate at the buffet allot and the food tray were not heated, so most of the food was cold(not very healthy). Also had a few small issues with the room and called the front desk and ws told someone would be there, and no one showed. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time, but could have been better!

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: Very nice resort a lots of Palm trees.

exellent location grounds very clean a lots of green everywhere.what I like the most was the palm trees on the beach and pool area very nice and busy. food ok.always fresh and plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Fair resort, air conditioning way too cold inside.

Beach was very shallow, and many red flag days. Pool was small, but lots of chairs. Buffet food was never hot, tepid at most. A la cartes were good except for the Japanese. Staff was wonderful, except for front desk. We were not leaving till 7pm and had to be out of our rooms by noon.

Riu Palace Aruba: Beautiful hotel

The junior suites are really beautiful and spotless. The food is excellent in the buffet. We really enjoyed the Italian restaurant the best out of the four speciality restaurants. The only complaint I hAve is the beaches are not cleaned enough. There was dog feces on the beach every day and it smelled so bad we had to move to different spots. I heard this complaint from various people I spoke with. That is the reason I gave it a 4 not a 5 star.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Memories Holguin

Very clean, well managed resort, with excellent service at every level, good private beach and the cleanest pools that I have ever seen. Food at the buffet was a little repetitious, but there were 4 grills, with fish, pasta, chicken, pork so I always found something I liked. At breakfast, there were also eggs, omelets and pancakes grills. Papayas, guava, pineapple, oranges, grapefruits, bananas, mangos and watermelon were usually available. The papaya was the best. My only minor complaint was th [... read more]e wifi service. Twice, we paid 2 pesos for an hour of wifi in the lobby. Both times, we lost service after about 5 minutes and then could not log out, so our hours were used up. I would definitely recommend Memories Holguin and will probably return.

Riu Flamingos: Nice Resort

Grounds, rooms, pools etc. all very nice Somewhat mixed about service in buffet rooms - seemed disoriented at times with several different people getting drinks, picking up dishes etc. Got our own coffee in morning several times. A lot of Mexican food as well

Riu Playa Blanca: Good resort

Service was excellent. The grounds where well maintained. Rooms are pretty good size and well kept. Food was great, specially all the sweets and fruits:) will come back next year again for two weeks...

Grand Memories Varadero: I enjoyed my over all stay.

Grande Memories is having sewage back up issues and that caused some horrible smells throughout the resort and even in our room and closed the pool bar a few days. the rain made the walking a very difficult thing to do. I actually took a bad fall and have a broken and a very bruised elbow and hip:( the resort staff were great. the front desk left us feeling uninformed a to our final check out time. sunwing assisted us with proper info on check out times. over all I had a great first visit to Cub [... read more]a.

Palace St. Martin: Riu St Martin

Was at the Riu St Martin Nov 26 to Dec 3rd.We booked this resort as we were looking forward to a relaxing week. It was not too busy which was nice, so no waiting for tables for breakfast lunch or dinner and always found loungers at the pool and the beach.The rooms were nice, clean, and the bar was always stocked. The grounds were also nicely maintained. As for the food we found we liked the French restaurant, the Fusion and the Steak one were average. The buffet was good, they changed the select [... read more]ions for lunch and dinner but breakfast was always the same. I have to say the freshly made croissants were pretty awesome. With the exception of a few the staff was very friendly. We were told the snorkeling would be awesome but that was not the case. Perhaps we will have to go back in the spring to see the fish. I would recommend this hotel and hope to go back soon.

Riu Merengue: Fantastic Stay with Family and Friends!

The resort was what we had hoped for, excellent rooms, plenty of food and drinks and nice atmosphere. It was nice having access to the other hotels and venues during the stay. Shows during the evening were well done.

Riu Merengue: Nice Resort but...

The resort overall was very nice. The rooms were clean, the food was good if a bit repetitive. The pools, grounds and common areas were kept nice and we always saw people working hard to keep it so. The beach was also nice. I was a bit worried after reading other reviews about the locals coming on the weekend but we had no problems. Our main complaint was the flies that were on everything. Out of a group of 18 people, 16 of us got sick to varying degrees. I don't know for sure but think it could [... read more] have been the flies that were all over the food. However, overall we had a great trip and found the resort and its staff very nice.

Riu Ocho Rios: Lovely stay with few complaints

Hotel was very nice. Stayed in Deluxe Wing after changed from Adults only on Nov.1st. Only complaint about room was bed -- pushed two double beds together to make a king - was horrible...crack right in middle where beds would separate! Would rather have had one single queen or king. Nice sitting area, well maintained although looking a little worn with some broken bathroom tiles. Stayed for two weeks, and second week was crazy busy (tons of people came for a few days over the American Thanksgivi [... read more]ng holiday) so will time it to avoid this next time - challenge to get loungers. Beach was good, but couldn't walk too far either way because it was impassable. Great jerk chicken hut for lunch on beach. Fruit selection was a bit disappointing - not much fruit native to Jamaica -- no fresh pineapple, coconut, mango or papaya -- served melon, apples, grapes and sometimes kiwi. Disappointed that mandarins and pineapple were canned... Steakhouse and Japanese a la cartes very good...Mandalay not so much - just another buffet. Staff very friendly, cheerful, happy, good service. Long ride from airport. Booked ClubMobay for return home....wouldn't do it again, disappointing. Took Blue Mountain Bike Tour -- would recommend it. Other travellers who were familiar with Riu chain told us this hotel was not as good as others they stayed at. We would probably book other than Riu next time. But let's keep perspective -very minor disappointments, overall great relaxing two weeks.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya: Very Nice

Very stately design & decor. Not so big that you get lost. Everything (beach, pool, lobby, bars) is within a 2 min walk from wherever your room is. The structure is showing its age somewhat here and there (if you look close). The rooms (our) are nice, and spacious (we had a step down sitting area & full balcony). The pool gets cleaned & checked every day, but does show an oily film near the end of the day... the water is approx 80 deg F. The beach is very wide, with soft white sand, and no coral [... read more]. Sea water was a little stirred up while we were there (Nov 2015) but very swimmable, at around 80 deg. ... A small band of seaweed would wash up every day but nothing to worry about. I would for sure return to this resort. The only slight negatives would be; the musty room smell, and a foul smell (grey water) coming from under the food coolers in the buffet... not a deal breaker.

Riu Ocho Rios: Great Hotel

Most say I thought this was one of the nicest resorts I have stayed at. The staff are wonderful, the food was great and never had a problem finding chairs at the pool or beach and there were 12 adults and 3 babies in our group. My only complaint would be the elevator, it didn't seem to want to open on the 2nd floor.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Wonderful Trip, highly recommend

Excellent resort, well laid out, friendly staff, wonderful food. The only down fall I would say is people walking down the halls at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, and yes even 5:30 in the morning are LOUD, and you would think they are standing next to your bed hooting and hollering.
