Paradisus Varadero: Great resort, best beach in Varadero!!
Have been to Varadero many times and stayed at this resort twice. We we're there 2017-01-14 for a week. It has the largest beach area, great swimming, and always a beach chair available. The pool is beautiful, clean, and surrounded by palm trees. Service was great in all areas with friendly staff. We were in an older room with no complaints. There was always hot water, a/c, coffee, water, cerveza, clean towels, and sheets. "Louise" from the towel shack is awesome and had us all dancing t [... read more]
Melia Marina Varadero: Melia Varadero
Grounds were nice, just recently built so not as lush as some others in front, but Marina view was spectacular, All hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, our room was not good for 3 people very cramped and with glass partition not ideal for adults with young kids, the town was about 15 minutes away so about a $15 taxi cab, best place to go in Varadero is the Beatles bar, best night ever. The beach is not close enough to hotel back and forth was a bit of a pain, so we only went once.
Paradisus Varadero: Could easily be called Paradise Varadero
Outstanding facilities and pools. Terrific staff. I highly recommend the Royal Service upgrade. Absolutely amazing & an express route to relaxation! Personal butler, golf cart transportation everywhere for the asking, and a premium stocked bar with quality espresso too.
Melia Las Americas: Melia Las Americas is First Class
We do not want to write a glowing review for fear that we will not find a vacancy next time! But the resort is beautiful, pristine and simply first class. The Dupont Golf course next door is perfect for all levels of ability to play the game. The Zanadu hotel has an excellent restaurant and a view of the eighteenth finishing 18th golf hole. I need not write more as you will want to go there to hear the music everywhere, the attentive staff, so please please do not go there, you won't like it and [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Lovely Hotel
Just returned from a relaxing stay in Cuba where the weather was wonderful and the service at our hotel was exceptional! The grounds of the hotel are nicely laid out and quite beautiful. The only drawback was the location of the tennis court which was down a poorly maintained path. The pool area and beach views are amazing! The area for Paradisus Rio de Oro was somewhat rocky but afforded good snorkelling for those enthusiasts. A short walk further and the water was easier to enter. First day of [... read more]

Sol Palmeras: Slightly lacking
Unfortunately there were things about this hotel that made it distinctly un-Cuban. The room bar fridge was only stocked with water. Even after asking for pop and cerveza we were told "no". They also didn't mention that all of the rooms were non-smoking. We were allowed to smoke on our balconies but heaven forbid the smell made it into the room, they would charge you $200 for extra cleaning. There was a small area set aside from the main lobby for smoking, but it was usually filled to capacity. T [... read more]
Sol Palmeras: Sol Palmeras
We just got back from 12 glorious days at the Sol Palmeras. Other than a slow check in the trip and hotel were top notch. The hotel was clean and the service excellent. The lobby has been tastefully updated with a dedicated outdoor smoking area. Non smokers paradise. The rooms are modest but clean and all have balconies or patios. The staff were warm and attentive. If you stay there and complain then stay home! This is my 20th trip to Cuba and by far the best. The beach is short so we did [... read more]
Melia Jardines del Rey: beautiful resort
well taken care of resort our room was great very clean the staff was superb, the lobby bar was always way to busy and the bartenders there didnt seem to care who was in line if someone flashed some $$ which was quite annoying. the restaurant staff was great gardeners were super friendly and event staff was awesome. beach was beautiful not rocky at all like we had read about. we snokled off the beach as well as went out on the small boats with guides to snorkel they were amazing and very informa [... read more]
Paradisus Rio De Oro: average resort
the resort was ok. beach area was far and lots of stairs. you needed to shuttle around resort . the staff was great but service was slow. we upgraded to royal service and not everything was done as advertised. no welcome drink no daily bar in room had to call everytime you needed something. Butler was only avalaible if called. the paradisus in varadero was much better
Melia Jardines del Rey: Don't waste your time or money!
This was our fourth and LAST time to Cuba! We have never experienced anything like this. Traveled the week of Jan.8. Checkin is unorganized, no al a cartes available even though we just checked in. Rooms had small beds with no toilet seats or hot water and the water barely trinkled out. Food- wait lines were horrible(1-1 1/2 long), no plates, empty food trays, food under cooked(raw dough) and no tables available to sit The beach is amazing but it was to cold and windy while we were there [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful resort
Large resort and grounds were incrediblie spotless, but watch out for those sand flea, and mosquitoes. Even with bug spray we were chewed alive. Maid service could have been better, hospitality could have been better, but food was good for being Cuba..all in all was worth the price.
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Pleasant stay!
A quick review to stay thank you for such a pleasant stay. I travelled solo over the Christmas holiday so it was nice to be at such a small and intimate style resort. Aside from a few hiccups, I'd rate my entire experience a 7.5/10. Thank you for everything!
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great fun... beyond all expectations
Huge variety of excellent food in 8 different restaurants; gorgeous spotless multilevel room with glassed in shower, chaise lounge and balcony overlooking pristine grounds; 24 hour room and shuttle service; beautiful private beaches and swimming pools who serve the best Mojito's. You can just relax, or participate in organised activities with friendly staff; Spa treatments are amazing... I recommend the Rum-rub massage. Best vacation ever!
Paradisus Varadero: paradisus varadero
the hotel service was horrible, not stocking of mini bar, no hot water to shower, leaking from ceiling took 3 days to change room, very dark at night grounds not lit up good literately walked off the curb had to pay attention every where , poor selections at buffet, 2 entertainment shows were alright during the stay, no welcome upon arrival, souvenir shops at resort not good at all, all visitors had the same issues will not return
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Spectacular adult resort...
Pure class. Room was beautifully renovated, immaculate grounds, service beyond expectations, excellent food and wide variety of fare in the 8 restaurants... eat lobster every day if you wish, phenomenal spa treatments, private pristine beaches, top notch evening entertainment. Met wonderful people from all over the world. It was my second time, and I will be returning soon. General Manager Jean-Marc Rousseau and staff have created an atmosphere that is 5 star all the way !!!
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Relaxing vacation
My first trip to Cuba, beach is beautiful has some coral so bring water shoes. Free scuba diving and snorkeling included in your resort stay. Rooms were very clean and all new modern washrooms. Second floor has wrap around balconies . Resort may be older however the grounds are being updated with new plants and very well kept. Food - buffet provides a wide selection of food , everything from salad bar , grilled fish, steak , chicken etc. Pool restaurant was excellent. The a la cartes were also v [... read more]
Melia Las Antillas: Excellent Cuba experience!
Really nice resort. A little older, and it showed in some areas, but excellent amenities and staff. Food was the best I have encountered in my six visits to Cuba. We had an issue with our shower that was resolved within an hour. Very impressive.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Heaven
The beach is the biggest and best in Cuba, The Resort itself is very well laid out and the food is beyond great and very well laid out, It was nice that this Hotel also has a real Royal service separated from the main resort not just a different rest band like the others. The staff is amazing and not a single hand out expecting a tip very nice...We are going back.
Melia Marina Varadero: Awsome resort
The Hotel was very nice ,clean good food and great people. I would definitely go back. We were there with 22 people brothers and sisters and mom and dad and they like it as well. The weather was perfect every day so that helps too. About 29c every day.
