Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: beautiful surroundings with lots of walking

Please be careful. We got to resort only to wait 4 hours for them to find confirmation on booking. Beautiful place with not so good service. Bathroom drain leaked. No replenished fridge and if you loose your bracelet they charge $200.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Not so good

Pros: nice and clean room, good food, many restaurants; Cons: small beach with dark sand, best spots reserved for VIPs/Lifestyle Vacation Club Members; better service, food and even coffee like espresso available for VIPs only, free internet only one hour/ day and very slow, if you want internet for one week you have to pay 45 USD( cheaper to buy local SIM card with data); a lot of stairs, definitely not for tourists with mobility problem; They lure vacationers to buy membership, sort of share [... read more]s- be careful !!!

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Beautiful hotel

Nice hotel, but the check-in process was horrendous and it took ages to get our bags once we finally checked in. Enjoyed the beach, and the water was spectacular. Restaurants and buffet was poor, and that’s important to us at this price point. The ladies who cleaned our rooms were fabulous as was the “butler” Jose but everywhere else in the hotel, service was ok, at best.

Nickelodeon Hotel Punta Cana: Will not be back

We absolutely will not be back and are so disappointed with the experience we had. Many places in the resort smell like sewage. Buffet food is often old, cold, and left sitting. We spent extra to do the character breakfast ($150USD) and were served limited options and cold food, worse than the buffet. The staff is rude and do not care for the guests. The "entertainment" is just guests of the hotel playing "Just Dance" on stage. We had to call daily to have our room cleaned and mini fridge  [... read more]stocked. Unless you are a member of this hotel chain you will not be treated well. We will absolutely be making sure none of our friends and family ever attend this resort.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Casa marina reef resort

Overall not a bad vacation - Select side rooms were renovated and clean. Food was above average, staff were friendly and polite. Only negative was beach - closed 5 of the 7 days we were there due to high waves. Had to walk to other beaches nearby to swim in the ocean. Close to town and restaurants nearby.

Majestic Colonial Punta Cana Beach Resort: Very nice

Clean and very friendly resort. Entertainment was good. Only one swim up bar for the length of pool seemed not so efficient. Would have been nice to have a coffee bar in the lobby. Overall a great experience.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Okay

The beach is fine. No problem finding seating. Watch small children because they can quickly be in water over their heads. We had several red flag days, which I have found is typical with winter and Atlantic-facing beaches. The standard room was well, standard. Both pools are smallish for a resort of this size. Our room unfortunately faced the pool and its courtyard, the scene of a lot of evening entertainment. We could hear the nightly shows whether we wanted to or not. Fortunately, they [... read more] stopped between 2200 and 2230. Buffet food was well, buffet. Lots of hits and misses. Any time I could have an item freshly-prepared, I went for it. Buffet dining room wait staff had to often be asked for refills on water or coffee. Perhaps there aren't enough of them. Drink quality depended very much on bartender. Of the three a la carte restaurants you could sample during a week stay, Octopus was the best both for food and service. I had a look at an Iberostar nearby, and compared prices for the time of our stay. Similar accommodation at the Iberostar would have cost us another $239 per person. It looked as if it might have been worth it based on grounds and pool alone. I would only recommend Gran Ventana to someone looking for a low-budget stay.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Best Christmas gift I gave myself

What a fantastic resort this is. I’m not sure what it was like during COVID restrictions but there were no signs that they were in “recovery” mode. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Best part? There were no kids at this resort and no thumping bass drumming all hours. In fact by about 6pm the pool areas were closed and the resort took on a more relaxed mature feel. Worst part? No biggie to me I absorbed the cost but not everyone can be so fortunate. The food was awesome. Never any shortages. They do have “gala” nights. There’s a dress code, fellas bring long pants and a nice shirt. On these gala nights, you are expected to buy your own drinks. Keep this in mind as they sell wine by the bottle starting around $50 US.

Riu Palace Macao: Amazing resort!

This was our first time at an all inclusive resort and our first time in DR. 33F, 27F and 44M. It was myself, my boyfriend and my sister.This was so over the top amazing, the entertainment in particular, Gerston, Pedrito and others who's names escape me really made sure everyone had the opportunity to get up, dance, play and have fun. Be warned they clean rooms twice a day. Morning and evening until 11pm. So if you don't want to be interrupted make sure your do no disturb sign is up! Haha. Grand Palladium Select Bavaro: Quality improved since last year

2nd time at this resort (been there last year) and have to admit that quality of service improved. Things I liked: 1. The staff. They manage to create a perfect vacation vibe, very helpful and seem to enjoy their work. Things that need improvements - just one, the rooms - very dated, I tried 3 during my stay and all had same problems, shower and air conditioning system leaking water on the floor, air conditioners are rather noisy, lots of cracks in ceramics… Rooms were better in Palace and Punta Cana section.

Barcelo Bavaro Palace: Beautiful grounds - horrible food

The hotel itself is nice. The grounds are perfect. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: 2nd time visiting and will return!

This is by far my favorite resort of all I have been to! The staff are amazing, the food is always good, the location is perfect! I don't want to say too many good things as I don't want to see the resort get too popular!!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Not a Luxury 5 Star 0r "Hidden Jem"

Although my wife and I very much enjoyed our two week vacation, weather was great and the view for the room is beyond description... A few annoyances and misses that made us not love this resort. Food - Buffet was ok, but not 5 star worthy, also ventilation in the cooking area was poor and very hot and smoke filled. A La Carte restaurant - although they have 3 listed only one was open daily and due to privet events and resort capacity, we were stuck may times at the buffet for dinner. Although the resort itself is vey quiet, it backs onto the main road and you can hear the occasional motorcycle late at night. The Beach, quiet and private... but not as advertised in this picture. The boardwalk and ocean break wall shown in the picture are washed out. Overall... Not a 5 Star and not worth the extra money spent.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Great Resort

The resort is very well maintained, the beach is stunning,rooms are clean and large. People are very friendly and the food was great along with the alecarts. We stayed here from 19th of Dec to 26th. You do get vendors on the beach but you say no and they leave. We have traveled to all different places and found the food way better then cuba while paying the same amount to go here. This was our 1st time in Peurta Plata and loved it here as mostly Canadians. We would definitely go back. No wrist b [... read more]ands and you just show up at the alecarts which was great for us. If you had to wait an hour to get in we just sat and had a couple of drinks. You are on vacation so what is the hurry. I can't believe some people are not giving this resort a 4 or 5. You can't compare apples and oranges.if you compare it to Mexico then pay the 2500 a week to go there, This resort was a great price , has amazing staff, beautiful beach, good food, and full of Canadians. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Very Happy with Resort

The Royalton Bavaro met all expectations and more. The hotel is quite new, very clean, and the staff are all very friendly. Food was really good, although wait times in the restaurants can be long if the resort is busy. Shows were great, tons of stuff to do - beach is amazing. Great for all ages.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing resort

Amazing atmosphere clean amazing food friendly people friendly staff very clean room 24/7 security very fast service very nice customer service delicious and fresh food nice restaurant variety perfect for families

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Over all nice property but a few things could be improved.

-The beach is very rocky and dangerous, the surf is very high and the undertow can be strong, there is a quieter beach area but it is off the property. The main pool was crowded ans noisy but the El Beso pools were nice. The lazy river is small and there are only a few floaties available. If you didn't have a butler you have to stand in line at 7:30 every morning to get your a la carte resto reservations. We ate most of the time at the PezDama and Privelge restos since they were on the beach [... read more] and the staff were so nice. -The buildings and grounds are well maintained and clean. - The staff are super nice but alot of them seemed to be new and were not able to provide information when needed. -The rooms are spacious with lovely balconies with swinging baskets. -The activities are nice, people seemed to be enjoying the dance classes, games etc. -The shows were hit and miss, best were the Magic Show and the Fire Show. -Every night there is live music and dancing at the central plaza, it is fun and family friendly. -Its worth it to have the privelege package, having a butler really facilitates things if you have problems(our safe malfunctioned), saves time with restaurant reservations and generally get info for you since a lot of the staff were either new or didnt speak much English.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: We will Definitely go back

Great place with beautiful facilities and we had a ton of fun. Food was excellent with lots of great restaurants to choose from and the main buffet was very good. All the staff was so friendly and happy made you feel really welcomed. In particular the entertainment crew under the direction of Walter were really fun and put on great shows and things like AquaFit, dancing lessons and more. The only issue was a natural one, when we were there the beach was filled with seaweed and lots of bittin [... read more]g insects. So it was not great, but the beach was beautiful and hopefully is not always like that.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort.

We had a wonderful stay and we would recommend this hotel and will definitely return. The food, staff and hotel grounds were amazing. There were tons of loungers at the pool and at the beach with plenty of shade. One thing that needs to be addressed is labelling food at the buffet and beach restaurants. Sometimes it’s hard to tell what the food is. Rooms need to be updated and they are showing their age.

We stayed dec 17th to the 23rd. The staff are excellent and all needs were addressed. Travelling with two adult sons and one adult daughter we had a great family vacation. Alberto our “butler” was very helpful and not intrusive. Helped sort out a game of golf for us nothing left for us to do but show up.
