Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort

Grounds were clean and well cared for, as were the dining rooms and beach area. Piano Bar area could use airing out, or maybe time for refurbish as there is a stench in the closed off glassed bar that makes you want to puke as the door closes behind you as you walk in. Other bars were good and attendants were friendly and attentive, but near end of our week became aggressive towards tipping (ASKING for absurd amount) overall our group of 26 had a good week I think.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Fantastic Resort!

We just spent our March Break at this resort with a group of 19 people! WE LOVED IT! The grounds were clean and beautiful...give it a few more years and it will be very lush. The entertainment was spectacular. Different theme nights...White Party was our FAV! Livi was awesome and taught us all some moves! The service was great...Waldo & Branley took good care of us! Food was excellent, something for absolutely everyone! Rooms were very spacious, modern, and clean!

Melia Jardines del Rey: I give this resort 2 thumbs up

We enjoyed everything about this resort from the staff, to the food, to the rooms, the entertainment, the grounds etc . The pools were kept nice and the beach was beautiful. I highly recommend this resort . It's only 20 minutes from the airport. Thank you to our rep Cassandra who recommend we go there .

Hotel Playa Coco: Good price, good value

This was our fourth trip to Cuba. Hotel playa coco is a good resort for the price. We especially enjoyed the beach with its varied tide and tidal pools to explore, the children's pool, the ice cream parlour and the beer garden. The rooms aren't fancy but were sufficient. There were lots of bugs at this resort and we got lots and lots of bites. Probably due to the proximity to the mangroves next door.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Great resort!

great resort with fantastic staff. The resort is a bit older but who cares, you're on vacation. Stayed in the Elegence club room which gave us a few extra perks. There is no free wifi. Will def go back!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Good value for your money.

Compact: everything was easily accessible from your room--dining, pool, beach. I liked that. Not large: was nice to keep meeting same people; Family atmosphere between guests and staff. Food quite good (lobster was served at the buffet! ) and served a variety of items so it was not same menu every meal. Staff very friendly. Pools were great. Cleanliness of room was good. Poor waterpressure and luke warm hot water. Having to pay for use of the safe was a drag. Beach needed to be raked  [... read more]more frequently. Terrible WIFI. Advt said 15 min from airport..not too..more like 50 minutes.

Hotel Mojito: We loved Cuba

We liked the resort a lot!!!!! The room we had was clean and had lots of room. The grounds were kept nice and clean as well. The staff was very friendly and very helpful!!!!! We enjoyed interacting with staff during volleyball games and meeting other guests. Great trip we definitely will be back!!!!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: OK spot

We found the staff that we had contact with were very helpful and friendly. Especially in the dining room they were amazing. But the house keeping needed some tips on how to clean. Yes the bed was made and floor was wiped. But when we arrived I noticed that the dust on the night table was there for quite a while and took days before it was cleaned. And not sure that our shower was ever cleaned. That was my biggest issue was the room and how it was cleaned.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Good resort

This resort is clean, lots of room for sitting and socializing. The rooms are spacious and clean. The only thing is make sure you pack your off spray as we were eaten alive by mosquitoes inside the rooms and outside. The alla carte restaurants are real treats ( we tried the French, Cuban, and the seafood and they were all great). The beach was outstanding with white sand and clean azure water. The last day we went there for a change, but we were disappointed as it was closed without any sign or notification. Overall, it was a nice stay, except, we tried to contact Sunwing to locate our chargers ( for iPad, camera, tablet, and cellphone) we left in our room, but we couldn't get hold of anyone. We were given an email address of the rep in the resort but no answer!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Nice Resort

The Resort was a Nice Resort in comparison to other resorts I have stayed at as far as star ratings. The A La Cartes that we went to were as follows: Cuban - would not recommend Seafood - would not recommend Italian - would recommend The beach was nice but the sand is a little course. Lots of sharp shells. The pool area was nice, no problems finding chairs. Rooms were clean and the fridge was always stocked daily. Grounds were well maintained and kept clean. Food - Food was good and has improved in Cuba over the years. Always found something, never a problem.

Hotel Vigia: THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!!!

We were looking for the ideal resort at the best possible price for a March Break escape for a weather-weary Maritime Canadian family group of eight with a 'kids are free' room price deal at a decent place. We found the perfect place at Sol Cayo Guillermo. Having been to Cuba (Cayo Coco) close to 10 times, I made the decision to return yet again to this beautiful country. Why? This is somewhat of a rarity in Cuba; even in supposed "5 star" Cuban resorts (whatever that means because I've found it means very little), water, tp and/or fresh towels seems to always be an issue. These are all first world problems in any event but I never cease to be amazed at how upset people get....reallllly? Sure some of the mechanicals were a bit "broken" like our leaky sink and it was a bit sewage stinky in some spots, but that's common in Cuba. The shower (solar power units on the roofs), AC (brand new Westinghouse units that worked perfectly) and toilet worked well and that's really all that matters. How much time do you spend in your room in paradise anyway?? The resort was a tad run down and tired-looking around the edges but supposedly they are completely re-doing it in the near future. Long and short, whoever runs the Sol Cayo Guillermo does a really good job, better than most resorts in Cayo Coco and surrounding area. The food was fine, bland but fine. Hey it's not the chemical-laced stuff you get elsewhere but it's Cuban and healthy. This is likely why they're not obese. I am fine with wonderful stir-fried chicken, pork and Cuban rice with black beans. The pasta bar was excellent, custom-making your sauce while you wait. The omelets were fabulous and if you get there early enough to beat the line-ups, you get fast, hot yummy food. We all enjoyed it and the ice cream was fab for the little ones. The coffee is wonderful and they had fresh fruit and bananaramas made with real bananas! Crystal and Buccanaro beer is really good too! The staff were excellent, helpful and polite. Because it's an older resort, a lot of the staff were older too, not just a bunch of kids, making such a difference. The coffee ladies Anita and the other lady were fabulous as was the guy at the snack bar; the guy with the beautiful eyes making really good ham and cheese sandwiches and custom-made pizzas all day. Carlos and Jose at the Cubanita bar where the Brits hang out were just the best!!!! Your drink never sits empty with those guys. What a great place to sit, drink and laugh and compare cultures right beside the beach. The entertainment, including kids' show, were wonderful. The kiddie club lady, Vary I think her name was, was just the BEST. My granddaughters loved her and couldn't wait to hang out with her. They had the time of their lives playing with other kids running free and safe all day. They did mini cooking and serving water to people and a fashion show and all sorts of fun activities giving their parents a complete break by the pool. This is a great place for young kids. The beaches down at the Cayo Guillermo end are amazing, simply amazing, pretty much perfect. In fact all of the beaches on this north coast of Cuba are pretty perfect! Plenty of free snorkeling off the pier right near our resort with no shortage of awesome fish to see and pelicans to eat them or wait until you catch one whereupon they run up to you like dogs with their beaks open. Hilarious. Watch the fire coral, I got a dose of it being stupid on the reef. I'm still in bumps on my legs. Even the barracudas are cute and friendly! :) We saw dolphins on the catamaran trip and expensive as it was, it was so worth it. Tarzan and Didi, the two crewmen were very professional! Long and short this is the best stay I have had in my many years visiting Cuba. The entire family, all my children and grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed themselves. You are only a half hour or so from the airport and there is a 5 c.u.c. good for the whole day bus that takes you up and down the strip every hour. If you like partying and people and lots of shopping and markets and city life, this area may not be for you but if you like gorgeous clean beaches, diving, peace and quiet in the sun, and great resorts only a few hours from home, this is the place. Well done again, Cayo Coco/Guillermo! I will be back.

Hotel Mojito: Good time!

Just back from a week at the Iberostar Mojito. Travelling with kids and I have to say we had a pretty good time. Rooms were spacious and never had issues with air conditioning or hot water. Bar fridge stocked with water, pop and beer. Food was plentiful, although a bit repititious, we never went hungry. Beach and pool were great!! We took the kids to a climbing gym down the road and they had a blast!

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: A nice resort.

The layout of the resort was well done. On the most part the staff was very friendly. We had a few problems at the start of our vacation, (wrong size of bed, air conditioning not working, and a few other things),but the problems were taken care of immediately. The buffet was OK, the Japanese a la carte was fantastic, but the Mediterranean was horrible. We enjoyed our daily walk to Pilar beach, and the snorkeling around the bay was lots of fun. The thing I hated most was the fact that people would get up early and putting Items on the pool and beach chairs, then not showing up until later in the day, the was frustrating, just show up and use a chair.

Melia Costa Rey: Fantastic 12 days at The Pullman

the lobby of this hotel is the main feature with a beautiful view - and of course the beach is great which is where we spent most of our time. we requested a room change from 43105 to 24004 - 43 was a bit too far away from everything and had 2 beds - we had requested one king bed - reception was great at getting us moved the 2nd day we were there and we were so happy - rooms very clean and the rain shower great - tried the tub shower but the drainage was bad so only used the rain shower - we wer [... read more]e surprised that so many people still smoke and that was really apparent in the lobby - which is were we liked to hang out before and after dinner - we managed though - lots of families/kids - maybe the resort was a bit big for us - buffet was okay you could always manage to find something to eat - although food usually just warm - the best al la carte was the Collections and then French, Japanese ok - Creole not so good

People were great! I always found something to eat so food was good. Grounds were clean. Could have had more water in rooms and it would have been nice to have a stocked fridge. Resort does need some fixing up but other than that I had a great time!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories Caribe in Cayo Cocowas out

Fast check in Roberto, the resident pet flamingo was entertaining around the pool. Really enjoyed the paino bar, great Spanish coffee and great entertainment Most days we didn't have toilet paper in the public bathrooms, at least one would be out, very inconvinient to say the least. We had a late departure, and we were able to stay a few hours more in our room, such a great service to have, be ready to pay 10 CUC, but worth every penny. Fantastic beach!

Hotel Mojito: Great Holiday

This is a perfect size resort, nothing is to far, the board walks are very enjoyable to walk day or night between the resort and the beach. Restaurants over the lagoon are very quiet and attractive. All the food was good to very good with a large selection of fruit, vegetable and meat, the line ups were kept short by the great work of the staff. Entertainment for all, we especially enjoyed the Cigar Bar with the live nightly music and of course Freddy the most efficient bar tender ever seen, [... read more] and very funny to. The beach was great to walk on except at very high tide and was long enough to tire everyone who wanted to try to find the end. The Lobby Bar/morning coffee stop was open and well served by the staff who were very helpful with any questions about things to do outside the resort. The only negative was a person at the adult only pool who decided to take one of our towels and chair while we went for lunch. It was handled by the manager, who told us not to worry about the lost towel and she was right it was not brought up again...Thank you.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Awesome time, will return for sure

Our family had a great time at this resort. The beach was beautiful just like the pictures. The kids enjoyed the paddleboats everyday. The food and drinks were great, there was a good variety of food at the buffet. The kids enjoyed playing soccer everyday with the entertainment staff. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. The resort was a short drive from the airport which was nice. We will be returning in the future.

Our Family had an amazing time at this resort, great food, drinks and people. There was a variety of food at the buffet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well taken care of. Lots of activities for the kids. The entertainment staff was a lot of fun. The beach is beautiful. It is a nice short drive from the airport.
