Ocean Riviera Paradise: March 22-29, 2026

Our family stayed at Ocean Riviera Paradise from March 22–29, 2026. We traveled with our two young children (ages 5 and 2), so our experience was a bit different than adults traveling alone, particularly since our evenings tended to end early. Overall, we had a very positive stay. The staff throughout the resort were exceptionally friendly and helpful. No matter where we went, we were consistently greeted with smiles and kindness. The selection was impressive and seemed to change regularly from day to day, which kept meals interesting throughout the week. I would rate the buffet 10/10 for variety and about 9/10 for taste overall. One small improvement could be the availability of bowls and serving spoons during busy periods. These items were sometimes used up quickly, and it could take 5–10 minutes for them to be replenished. We also visited a couple of the à la carte restaurants. At the Italian restaurant, the service was again extremely friendly and welcoming. The menu was fairly standard for resort Italian dining, and the food we ordered was good overall — I would rate it about 8/10. We also dined once at the steakhouse. The menu offered a great variety, but I had slightly higher expectations for the ribeye steak. While it was still enjoyable, it didn’t quite meet what I was hoping for and I would rate it around 7/10. Unfortunately, during our stay our 2-year-old contracted Hand, foot, and mouth disease. I work in healthcare and know just how contagious this illness can be, especially in environments with many young children. I want to emphasize that I do not blame the resort or staff for this. In fact, we frequently observed staff cleaning throughout the resort. My wife and I were also extremely vigilant — disinfecting our room upon arrival, washing hands frequently, and wiping down high chairs, tables, and utensils at every meal. When you have a resort with this many families and children, illnesses like this can unfortunately happen anywhere. What stood out was how supportive the staff were once we informed them. They went out of their way to help by offering soft foods (off menu) that might be easier for our daughter to eat while she was uncomfortable. Their kindness during that situation meant a lot to us. Another point worth mentioning is the seaweed along the beachfront, something I had read about in other reviews before arriving. It is true that seaweed does accumulate. However, what also deserves recognition is the incredible effort of the beach cleanup crew. We repeatedly saw staff working extremely hard — shoveling seaweed into trailers and hauling it away with ATVs. It’s clearly very labor-intensive work, and they do it constantly because nature keeps bringing more in. Kudos to that team for the effort they put in every day. Personally, I’m not much of a beach person, so it didn’t affect my vacation much, but it’s something travelers should be aware of. Despite our daughter getting sick, we still had a great vacation overall. Our 5-year-old absolutely loved every minute of the trip and had an amazing time all week. In the end, we would definitely consider returning to this resort, whether traveling with our children again or as a couple.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Beautiful resort!

This was a beautiful resort! Our stay was peaceful and relaxing. This is definitely not a party type atmosphere, we went to rest and recharge. Beautiful grounds and extremely clean and well kept. The pools were very nice with ample chairs and towels. The food was very good but we would have enjoyed better lunch and breakfast options. Staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. The only disappointment was the beach and seaweed. Unfortunately we were not able to swim in the ocean.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Great time!

Hotel was great plus we were able to use the other two Decameron resort sites. Food was good every day, lots of pools to pick from plus they had an adult pool. The entertainment was good and we found plenty to do since the resort was right in town. little confusing at first but once you get the lay of the land it all came together. clean and friendly staff. beach is busy but that’s half the fun. we would go again, fun times.

Flamingo Cancun Resort: Amazing Resort

We recently stayed at this resort from (March 20 - March 27) 2026 we booked 4 rooms for 7 Adults and overall had a very enjoyable experience. The property itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a relaxing atmosphere that made our vacation truly memorable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a great job every day. The beach and pool areas were definitely highlights of our stay — clean, spacious, and perfect for relaxing. We especially appreciated how peaceful and enjoyable the environment was throughout the day. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. The entertainment was quite disappointing and did not meet our expectations. There were limited activities and shows, and the overall energy in the evenings felt lacking. The biggest issue we experienced was the airport transfer. It was very disorganized and stressful. There was no clear direction, long wait times, and no Sunwing representative available to assist us, which made the arrival experience frustrating — especially after a long flight. Despite these concerns, we still had a great time thanks to the resort itself and the hardworking staff on-site. With some improvements to the entertainment and better organization for airport transfers, this resort could offer an even better overall experience.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Great for the price

Overall, we had a great stay. After reading the reviews, I understand what people mean with their bad experiences. I am not a very picky person, so I take all reviews with a grain of salt. What is bad for some people, isn't necessarily bad for everyone. That being said, we ended up getting an updated room. One side of the resort is updated, while the other isn't. So that was where a lot of complaints came from. Honestly, my only real complaint was that the staff weren't overly friendly. Y [... read more]es, there were some who were absolutely wonderful (mostly at the lobby and coffee bars). But overall, the staff weren't very pleasant. It always seemed like we were bothering the front desk staff - pack your patience. And the rest of the staff barely cared to say hello back to us. The food was good. Nothing spectacular, but average, lots of variety, and we didn't starve. The restaurants were good! The Italian was my favourite ?. The beach was okay. We are used to the beautiful beaches in Cuba, so this was VERY different. And the sargassum came in earlier than usual, which didn't help. Water shoes are a must if you want to go in the water! This was also a pretty quiet resort. Not a lot going on. There were a few daily activities by the pool and some evening entertainment, but nothing over the top. Some tips - if you can bring smaller Mexican pesos ($20 & $50's) for tipping great. But they were only able to exchange some for us once. They say they prefer pesos, but the front desk only have change for US $1. Also, this resort is about a 2 hour bus ride from the airport. Thank you for having us.

Flamingo Vallarta: Can't go wrong, if you get a deal!

Pros: Price point for an almost all inclusive. Friendly staff always ready to help with any issues. Location to the marina and shops/restaurants accessibility. Cons: No WiFi in the room, lobby only. No mini fridge in the room. No hot water in the room until later in the day.

Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres: Wonderful vacation

This adult only resort was really very nice. Our stay here was great. The food was very good. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lots of activites if you wanted to do them. Met some great people. Beach had some sea weed but not that bad. Beach bar with swings very fun. Our swim up room was great. Very new and clean.

Krystal Grand Los Cabos: Wonderful week!

Wow! What a week!! We upgraded to Altitude thru the resort!! I’m sure glad we did. Joel the Butler was perfect!! Always making sure we were taken care of. The staff was always busy cleaning and whipping stuff down. Pedro at the adult pool, sure knows how to keep the guests hydrated!!

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: For the money this is a wonderful resort

Just spent 2 weeks here. Lots of kids but we had a great time on the beautiful adult Hacienda side. Both pools were awesome. Quiet and plenty of drinks. The smaller buffet was so much better. We did spend a few days at the rooftop pool which was fine till we discovered the Hacienda pools. The Italian a La cart restaurant was excellent. They could use a few more a La carts. French was ok. Don’t know about the sea food as we don’t eat it. Constr'n never bothered us.

Riu Palace Mexico: brilliant hotel

could do with elevators at the pool side area up to the rooms as there are a lot of older people who struggle up the stairs and more toilets especially near beach its a long walk to the dining room washroom

Riu Flamingos: Had a wonderful time

Had a wonderful stay at the Riu Jalisco. Would go back any time. Staff was great, the beach was clean, the room was always cleaned, overall service was very good. Preferred the Japanese restaurant of all.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Great resort!!

I would definitely go to this resort again. It is very nice. The food is good, and it's so close to fifth avenue.You can go walk the strip every night if you wanted to. The only thing I didn't like is everything shuts down a bit early at the hotel.

Hilton Vallarta Riviera Resort: Great resort

Beautiful, very clean, exemplary service It's very isolated, you cannot walk to a Mexican neighbourhood. Taxi is a short ride for 150 pesos to go into Puerto Vallarta Good variety of food at buffet always fresh salads ad fruit. No problem booking on the all a carte restaurants. Our favourite was the Asian restaurant

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Fantastic resort, best we’ve had in 6 years of visiting Mexico.

There’s a lot to say about the Barcelo maya beach. We booked early to save price as we are also going to Asia for 2 weeks in August (Taiwan) . The resort was great from the reception desk onwards, check in was quick with friendly staff, no issues checking in, room was in the Uxmul building which is perfect for being central to everything, we were in room 3319 facing the Barcelo maya Caribe. We had a garden view which I was more than happy with. Food everywhere was extensive, the pool resta [... read more]urant at Rancho Grande was a lot more than I’m used to. Staff are amazing and always upbeat, there’s no pool music booming all day like the resort next door to us providing the option to do both. We have 4 resorts where we have full access to visit, drink and eat at all 4. Smoking on the property is fine, there are ashtrays all over the grounds and an ashtray on your balcony or patio. Buffet servers were fantastic ,we had 2 that stood out, Joel Rodriquez for breakfast, and Armando Reyes for dinner, both were amazing.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Royalton Hideaway

Hotel was overall great. Room and hotel very clean, good supply of towels. Room service awesome, daily stock of mini fridge and if you wanted more we just called and they brought to you. Room service food was poor always cold and little choices. Didn’t like the hassal of trying to convince us to upgrade and become prime members. Spa services were good. Many restaurant choices at this resort the drawback was not being able to get reservations when you wanted. Beach is not good, too much seaweed o [... read more]n beach even though they cleaned up by mid morning was just the same. Very windy area. Food choices at buffet was excellent, a lot of variety and quality was good. Staff very nice, entertainment was good. Check-in was great and fast. Did not like checkout was not given enough information the night before. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10.

Royal Solaris: Good location

The Rooms were clean and neat. AC worked very well and was quiet. Nice size . Had the partial ocean view. The food was average but did find something to eat without a problem. Eating area needs to be upgraded. Some chairs were not the cleanest. Pools felt greasy and needed a good cleaning. Lots of sand in the bottom. Drinks were well made for a resort. Workers were friendly for the most part.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Great resort

The food was excellent and the beach was fantastic! You could walk for miles both sides of the resort. We did ask for a quiet room and then last minute for a partial ocean view. We were apparently upgraded to that but wouldn't call it an upgrade. We couldn't get to the full deck on the first floor and the view was more of a construction site and couldn't see much of the ocean. We still would return to the resort though as it was very clean, friendly staff and didn't spend much time in the room [... read more].

Riu Latino: Wonderful resort

The food was fantastic, great friendly service. The staff always remembered us. The hotel was beautiful. Great view, room always cleaned before lunch. Comfortable, quiet. The grounds were beautiful, the staff were always tending to it. The entertainment group was fantastic. Aquafit was my favourite! Highly recommend this resort!!
