Riu Reggae: Fantastic Resort

We were impressed from the minute we walked in. The staff at the front desk was so friendly and helpful and thorough with what we needed to know. Then off to the room which was perfect, great gardenview to sit and have drinks on later at night. The food was great also the service at the buffet and steakhouse. However the service at the Italian restaurant wasn't the beat and we did not return, the salmon was great just not the service. We walked to the Montego Bay Riu past the palace and realized we had made the right choice. This hotel Riu Raggae is the perfect size, not huge and wow cleanliness!! The maids and grounds keepers were fantastic. It was definatley the staff that make this Riu shine....thankyou to all of them!!

Riu Reggae: Ok resort

1. Beach is Ok but the swimming in the Ocean was bad. Muddy water and muddy floor disgusting 2. Pools are only 90 cm deep 3. Loud music till 1am 4. Food in especiality restaurant was worse than the buffet. 5. Rooms are old and needs to be renovated. 6. Tripcentral should have advised us and gave us options of quieter resort

Riu Playa Blanca: Lovely Resort

Great stay at the RiU. The cleanliness of this resort was beyond fabulous. The staff went above and beyond to ensure the guests were well taken care of. The dining experience was also very good. The food was plentiful, flavourful and the variety was awesome. When speaking of the A la cartes, the Italian restaurant was my favorite restaurant followed by the steak house and lastly the Asian. The red flag was posted the majority of the entire week and very few people opted to swim in the ocean. With that said, the beach is walkable for distance in either direction. The activities offered during the day were fun to watch and staff gathered guests for participation in each activity. Shout out to Gabby who led the aquafit classes. She was fantastic. The evening entertainment was amateur at best but the staff's effort put forth was much appreciated. Great vacation overall and would recommend friends and family to visit Riu Playa Blanca.

Riu Palace Aquarelle: Great resort

This resort has it all, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room, bed, etc., excellent food with lots of variety. The beach is beautiful but waves were too strong for swimming most days and very rocky a few feet in from shore.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Awesome Resort!

Extremely clean Resort with very friendly staff. Excellent menus in every Restaurant. Great variety every day at the Buffet. I would suggest more garbage containers on the grounds. Other than that, it is an Excellent Resort!

Riu Negril: Was ok!

Updated rooms, grounds kept clean. Most of the staff were very friendly & accommodating but a few did need a lesson in customer service. Sunwing rep. really didn’t seem to like her job & we felt like we were bothering her. Nowhere to be found when our flight was delayed & left to fend for ourselves. Buffet had a good selection, steak restaurant was excellent but I will say the overall disappointment was the way they handle a la carte reservation…you have to log in at midnight to stand a chance [... read more] of getting a reservation 48hrs ahead (no sooner, no later) or you are out of luck…we only got one (steakhouse) and that was because we set our alarm for 12:01am and luckily got in- ridiculous we had to do that on a vacation. This was a common complaint for alot of people we spoke to.

Riu Palace Las Americas: Wonderful Trip!

Travelled to RIU Las Americas with friends and was VERY impressed! From the food to the pools....service to the beach...everything was terrific. People were wonderful and every detail was paid attention to. Highly recommend!

Riu Playa Blanca: Rest & Relaxation guaranteed

This resort was a good place to get away from it all. The food, room, and service were all very good. The theme was definitely simplicity. Activity staff (especially Ruben and Gabby) worked tirelessly to make sure everyone had a great time. The bartenders, (especially Bobby), were friendly and attentive. Our room was very large and our view was lovely. The infinity pool was perfect for all. The downside to this resort is the location to Panama City. It’s a two hour bus ride if you want to [... read more] visit the Panama Canal, old Panama City or new Panama City. If you are a beach person, this may not be the resort for you. The sand was very coarse and extremely hot, the water was murky, and the waves and undertone were worrisome.

Riu Palace Macao: Excellent resort

This was our second time staying at this resort.We loved it enough to come back.It was even better this time.The menus at the a la cartes changed since last year so we thoroughly enjoyed some new dishes.Buffet is always good.The staff is superb.Any issues were dealt with quickly and pleasantly.The beach has many lounges with beautiful palm trees for shade.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: Great week at the RIU Palace Tropical Bay!

We had an amazing week at the RIU. It was nicely designed and laid out. We loved the smaller buildings for our rooms - an amazing view of the Oceanfront - and best when we were post-beach with a in-room bar G&T in hand! One could not find a nicer beach that this one - not even the famous Negril 7-mile beach in our minds. The water was warm, that gorgeous clear turquoise colour, and, even had some starfish to delight us! The facilities were wonderful - clean, fresh, thoughtful, efficient. The [... read more] variety of bars, including the Coffee Bar (OMG, SO GOOD) were perfect, the pools weremclean and varying degrees of noise and busyness; the main buffet was plentiful and the food was always yummy. We enjoyed the Japanese a la carte and the Steakhouse - both got two thumbs up from us. (note, the portions were BIG which not all resorts do, and, truly, we could have easily shared one of our Japanese apps!) The staff were the true gems of the week I think...and I would encourage guests to partake in all of the amazing entertainment that was on offer. From the activation team (OMG, they don't get much sleep and give it everything they have to great results!) to the servers, bar staff, housekeeping, front desk, gift shop, spa team, and the ground keepers - there were always smiles, small chat, and, they remembered us. It made it all just that much more special. We partook in the white party at the RIU next door, learned about Jamaica's history during a day time session, and were surprised and absolutely shocked by how much we loved the silent disco (seriously, SO MUCH FUN!). We are already planning our return next year and, if I had to find one complaint...I'd say it was having to leave. Truly, it was that great (note: it was not at max capacity our week I don't think...but I do not believe you'd be fighting for chairs by the water or pool or in the buffet...it truly is a great resort!

Riu Ocho Rios: Rockin at the Riu!

Holiday with my brother at the Riu Ocho Rios March 2025. Beautiful clean resort. Had a family room with 2 queen beds on the 2nd floor facing beautiful courtyard with pond, and view of pool and Caribbean Sea thru the palm trees . Very spacious and modern. Double sinks with large shower and amenities. Separate room with toilet. Cleaned immaculately daily , with all towels replenished. special touches of towel designs and flower petals left on bed and curtain sheers draped fancy. Lots of hot [... read more] water. Air conditioner worked perfectly . Never saw any bugs inside our room. Sheets changed often. Left tips each morning for housekeeping. Food was tasty and lots of variety in main buffet. Tried the a la carte restaurants as well , with our favourite being the Kulkarium which served lobster on a bed of delicious rice ! Went there twice ! lol. 5 pools all cleaned daily and surrounding decks power washed every morning . Bars served variety of drinks both alcoholic and non , along with smoothies. Large signs with drinks name and all ingredients which made for easy choices. Entertainment was very good with karaoke night being the highlite especially once my brother performed ! After that , we were constantly approached throughout our week stay by other guests wanting to talk to him , which led us in meeting people from all over the world and having great conversations. The beach was beautiful and we walked it at least 4 times each day with a round trip from end to end being 1 mile we were told. Overall had a great trip at a beautiful hotel. I felt safe and the drinking water was safe to drink and the communication was very easy as they speak English. Oh and electrical outlets are the same as Canada.

Riu Palace Antillas: Good resort

We thought the hotel was good. It is in need of some updates. The elevators were troublesome most days only two or three out of five were working. The carpeting is wearing and the lobby area had a leak from the ceiling.

Riu Reggae: Great resort

Service was great, clean hotel, however loud clientele. Would go again anytime. Staff was super firendly and drinks were amazing. No atm at hotel and have to leave the grounds to get cash, would recommend bringning cash.

Riu Emerald Bay: Nice place. 2nd time here. Would recommend

As this was my second time here, the first being a year ago at the same time, I knew pretty much what to expect. As with most Riu hotels, of which I've stated at many, you can expect a clean environment, from the common areas, to the dining rooms, and most of all in your spacious hotel room. The staff here is very good, upbeat, eager to please, and the rooms are always cleaned earlier in the day. The beach is great, long and expansive, with a nice little commercial area a 10 minute walk on the b [... read more]each from the hotel. There you can eat, drink, browse various shopping options, and even visit a local Oxxo. There are 2 bars, both gave poor acoustics, so it can get very loud, and very easily. In one of the 2 bars, the non sports bar, there were the same 2 bartenders who were there from last year. They are a true comedy team, and their attitudes are infectious and welcome. Regarding the food, it's pretty good, but not great, but you will be fine. The location of this hotel is more isolated than say in the Golden Zone, but for us, that's MUCH preferred, as it's quiet and peaceful, as opposed to the bustle of the Golden Zone. That's just not our thing, maybe it's yours though. Overall, the Riu Emerald Bay is a very nice choice to say in Mazatlan

Riu Emerald Bay: Stunning Resort

The resort was amazing! We had a jacuzzi suite on the 18th floor. Such beautiful, clean, spacious rooms. The sunsets can not be beat! Everything from food, to beach, to pools, to staff were great. Cannot think of one negative thing. We will return again!

Riu Palace Jamaica: Great place!

Pool bar Winston rocked! The entire entertainment crew blue (genius) red (String bean, Brittney, bubbles to name a few awesome!). All staff are amazing! Food is awesome! Had an amazing time! Meet lots of new friends! First time at a Rui and will for sure return!

Riu Palace Baja California: A beautiful vacation

The hotel is so peaceful and there is always someone cleaning some area of the resort. Each room is well set up with a shower that is outstanding! The variety of a la carte restaurants made the dining experience each evening so much fun. The gym had a good set-up of equipment and we loved the fitness games and activities offered throughout the day. The entertainment was really good but we did get confused as to which stage the special shows were offered on between the 2 Riu resorts. We found [... read more] the service to be totally amazing -very responsive and willing to go that extra mile to help out. For example, my mom left her special shawl at one restaurant on our last evening. When she called the hotel 2 days later, they found the shawl and it was returned to us. Excellent customer service.

Riu Guanacaste: Impressive Resort

This hotel was very nice, staff kept it exceptionally clean always!! Check in and out smooth and easy. Lots on offer at the buffets especially for picky kids.The specialty restaurants were confusing. Sign said open hours but it was closed. Extremely long waits for the restaurants so we gave up and left. Need a better system. Room was very nice. Riu Palace Bavaro: Great Resort

Clean, newly renovated. Service was quite good (some above and beyond, and some mediocre moments - but mostly good). Riu's overall do not have enough washrooms - quite a long hike to find toilets from the buffet/restaurants. But lovely resort overall.
