Sandals Royal Bahamian: A wonderful short break ...

For a 4 day weekend to get away from it all, this was a perfect location. Flight wasn't too long, pick up from the airport was simple and then just a relaxing time - everything is catered for you; food and drinks all terrific. Will definitely come back again

Once we landed we were pleasantly surprised as we quickly made it through the airport lines and then 25 minutes later arrived at Sandals where the check in was very quick and well done by the ever smiling Orena. The resort itself was beautiful, the gardens and grounds are amazing, very lush with lots of plants, shrubs, and trees and the gardeners were very busy keeping things looking great. The beach is one of the nicest we have ever seen – and yes there are vendors on the beach but just say “you’re not interested” and they leave you alone. You can walk along the beach for quite a distance on both sides on the “Sandals property” -- making a nice picturesque beach walk a daily must for us. There are at least 5 pools at the resort – the main pool is very large but enjoyable with servers taking drink orders while you relax there. We could always find a chair around the pool, even after lunch. The Caribbean Pool and the other 2 “quiet” pools were frequented by us as well, especially if we just wanted to read, relax, or float around the pool. We found all the restaurants to be good. We had no trouble booking a reservation at either Eleanors or Kimonos and the resort was full the first week we were there. The birds were a nuisance at Bayside at both breakfast and lunch, and we found the service “hit and miss” at Bayside as well during these meals, so we decided to dine elsewhere for most breakfasts and lunches. Bayside has an excellent menu in the evening and we met our favourite waitress the 1st time we dined there – Kellyn is exceptional and we requested her the other times we dined at Bayside. The meals at Eleanors were good but the service was slow, especially the second night. Kimonos was good, OK Corral was very good, Barefoot’s food was excellent at night. We ate at the Drunken Duck both Sundays at noon for their buffet – it’s excellent. Mario’s was our favourite restaurant – breakfast is excellent there with omelets and smoothies made in front of you. The evening meals at Marios were excellent as well, be careful not to fill up on the anti pasta bar as it is amazing and you want to try everything but you have to leave room for the delicious entrees and the famous lava cake – which really is as good as all the reviews say. Ken, one of the managers at Marios, is always helping out and talking to everyone, making your dining experience even better. Soy, the sushi bar is lots of fun with a nice variety of sushi made right in front of you. The sushi chefs are great and very helpful – they made a sushi fan of me – we ate there 3 times. The pizzas at Bella Napoli are very delicious and convenient to take to the pool. A nice surprise was the Courtyard Grab and Go -- the food there was great and it’s very convenient, you could eat in the Courtyard or take it back to the pool, or anywhere else. And don’t forget the Café de Paris – the lattes and other drinks are great and the cookies and other treats really are delicious. It’s a great place to visit any time of the day and all the staff at the café are great. We found the entertainment very good – there was something going on every night at both the Caribbean Courtyard and the bandstand outside of the Drunken Duck. The fire eating / limbo dancer was fun to watch, and one of the highlights was the chocolate buffet – delicious. We were at Sandals for reunion week and the excursion to the beach was lots of fun. One of our highlights was the trip to the school, where we planted shrubs in the school yard while other guests helped the students with their school work. Interacting with these smart young Antiguan children was an experience we will never forget. The one thing that really stood out to us at Sandals Grande Antigua is the staff. Just some of very special staff we met there include Andrea, the environmental manager, we met her at the reunion week dinner and saw her many times around the grounds afterwards – she was always so friendly and helpful and was fun to be with at reunion week excursion and the “tree planting” at the school. Kellyn at Bayside—a great waitress who was always looking out for my wife’s allergy, Gerda in housekeeping – she wasn’t our housekeeper but we saw her many times including the reunion week excursion and the school tree planting, she asked our names after the 2nd day and would say hi and talk to us every time she saw us. Ken at Marios was a great host and always had an interesting story to tell you as you dined. Orena (our colgate girl) at concierge was very friendly and always smiling, and Cecellia at the “Soon Come Back” desk helped us out on many occasions – we called her “the girl who knows everything”. The ever busy manager, Mr G, can be seen helping out everywhere – we first saw him gathering up empty glasses by the main pool, and then saw him every day after, he would always stop to speak and make us feel at home. It’s easy to see he loves his job and passes his enthusiasm on to all his employees. We’re not sure where we are going next year, but we will definitely be back to Sandals Grande Antigua in the future.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Smaller intimate resort

We chose this resort precisely because it was a smaller resort. Service at the restaurants, bars and by the pool was never too long. However we had 2 bad experiences one at the pub and one at the beach grill with bad service. Waiting without so much as a glass of water, or menu while there were several staff on the floor and at the bar. We sat there for at least 10 mins before having to call someone over. (Only a handful of tables was occupied) The other was an extrememly rude bartender that lef [... read more]t me standing waiting while she did prep and cleanup and did not so much as look at me while I was the only guest the counter. She was rather nasty and abrupt when she finally spoke to me. The rest of the service was great. The room was in a great location. If you want to nap in the afternoon, get something away from the pool area as you will hear music and games going on. Cleaners were good at the beginning of the week, but lacking later during our stay. Empty glasses left in the room and sometimes floors were not cleaned. (Sand and Hair in bathroom). Fridge was stocked but with water and juice only. Secrets resort in Punta Cana, Domincan Rep. gets 100% for providing alcoholic beverages and snacks. Front desk staff and people at the tour counter are quite good and clearly well trained. The tour we took on the Sandals boat for snorkelling was dirty. The head (bathroom) in the boat was not woman friendly to say the least. Odour and improper lighting and wet floor = safety issues. Not what we expected from a Sandals. Gym was ok and the food was excellent in the Italian restaurant. Next time we will use more of the facilities and water sports activities at the sister resorts. We did one dinner at the restaurant on the pier. Excellent food and service there. Not to mention beautiful location. After dark not much lighting so go as early as possible to get a view. Beach was short but well kept. Only a few vendors who will leave you alone if you don't want anything. Would give this resort a rave review if only we didn't have those 2 bad experiences - not what the Sandals image advertises.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Not what you would expect from Sandals

Second time to Jamaica, first time at a Sandals. Love Jamaica and I expect we would like other Sandals locations but this one seemed to come up short for us. Ultra all inclusive isn't really accurate. Little things like wifi you had to pay for. We asked to visit the resort adjacent and was told there was a fee. When we went to confirm our visit was told we could not even visit but if we were staying at the other we could come to GR?? just seemed weird. The resort is huge but you do not get that  [... read more]feeling, especially on the beach side. It's very confined when it comes to waterfront with really very little beach front. If you like long beach walks, plain and simple, stay somewhere else. If you have mobility issues, stay somewhere else as there are a ton of stairs on the beach side of the property even to get from one section of the beach to the other. As you can probably tell I'm not a fan but don't let that stop you form Jamiaca or other Sandals in Jamaica but I believe there are far better options...especially at this price point. All the whining aside, the food was good, no complaints there.

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Highly recommended

We went for our honeymoon. We'd been to the Carribean a few times but this was our first time in St Lucia and our first time staying at a Sandals resort and a definite step up in price for us. With that in mind we were really hoping for an amazing vacation. First of all St Lucia in general is incredible and the view from this resort helps you constantly appreciate that. All you have to do is look out over the water and you remember you're in paradise. There are lots of tours available right from [... read more] the beach (Benny's boat tour recommended) and you can easily walk to Pigeon island (great use of a few hours). The service was consistently good. The bartenders were mostly engaging and creative with their cocktails. Food didn't blow us away but was always good. The facilities were great although we didn't use the gym or the spa (though they will hound you every day to get you into the spa!). The staff are all pretty friendly and want you to have a good time and there's a wide range of activities around the pool throughout the day from bingo to trivia to other more lively competitions... At night it usually got pretty quiet, which we actually didn't mind because we were usually pretty exhausted, but there was always a show or you could hang out in the english bar. Of the other two Sandals resorts we only went to La Toc once for dinner and never saw the Halcyon so we can't say for sure, but I think the Grande was the best - mainly based on the view and the location in the bay. I wasn't a big fan of using the shuttle because it took at least 30 minutes one way and although it was cool to see another resort I didn't really want to waste time on a bus when we could be enjoying our own resort. Overall - highly recommend this spot and even more highly recommend St Lucia as a destination. I'm not sure that what we got completely justified the jump in price from places we were used to going to, but I have no regrets choosing here for our honeymoon. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back when we can afford it.

Sandals Ochi Beach Resort: Trip of a lifetime.

Absolutely perfect. Impeccable service from every person I encountered during my stay. Incredible food. No desire left unfulfilled. A beautiful resort that was worth ever penny. An amazing experience.

Sandals Negril: Best resort I've ever been to!

This was by far the best experience I've had at a resort (and I've been to about 6 before). The service was top notch, the rooms were clean and spacious and the food was unreal. My wife and I are both personal trainers as well so we always try to find a place with a good fitness centre and we were floored with what we found - good equipment, lots of dumbbells, and quality cardio machines as well. Overall the experience was amazing.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Great resort!

This is our second time there and we had a fantastic time again. The service is friendly and prompt. Food is good as well. If possible try and reserve some restaurants when you first arrive as they fill up quickly. Definitely worth going a couple of times. The beach is phenomenal! Water is always amazing! Also worth going to the private island and checking out that beach for the day.

Sandals South Coast: Great resort for couples in Jamaica

Great spot for couples in need to relax. Very clean and top notch resort with excellent services. I would recommend the concierge level rooms, as you get the extra mile from a service and amenities perspective. Food was excellent . Do not forget to visit cafe de Paris for great pastries and cappuccinos . Although the beach was eroded at certain areas with alguaes and jellyfish at times, we took advantage of every water sports, especially sailing.

Sandals Halcyon Beach: An amazing experience :-)

We had an amazing time on our honeymoon! I don't usually travel well but it was a great time! The food was excellent, the activities were fun, staff very friendly and a very quiet relaxing place to be! It was a small resort but you had access to the busy resorts close by for free. Because it was small we got to meet a bunch of nice people :) I would go again in a heartbeat :)

Sandals Inn: lovely and warm

Small but nicely appointed. Excellent customer service from all staff. Stayed there for Christmas 2013, opted for butler service, good for some things such as making dinner reservations for us, full service by the pool. Would not get butler service next time, a bit too much. The hotel is quiet. For those who need loud music, sport activities and games, you would be better any of the other two resorts. Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Amazing Trip!

We stayed in a butler suite up on the bluff and it was amazing! Beautiful sunsets and butler service was amazing! Rooms clean, food great, beach beautiful! Butler is the only way to go! We stayed a second week at Sandals Grande also great, better swimmable beach, but with no butler service it wasn't as nice as staying at La, Toc. No bottled beer if you don't stay butler, which for the price you pay is a JOKE

Sandals Montego Bay: Tropical Paradise

It was our 45th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a more romantic celebration. The resort was great, and the staff catered to our every whim. It was an absolutely awesome place, from mouth watering food in the fine dining rooms, to the beautiful beach and very tasty drinks from the many bars. All the staff are outstanding! We will return here for sure. Can't wait until next time. A very friendly and happy place. Loved it.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Spectacular Resort

Amazing resort and people! Beautiful mountains and spectacular views on the coast! Food was great could not ask for better, best food thus far in my travels! The butler service from Genevieve & Barkus on the Sunset Bluff was excellent and they over and above for our stay, huge thank you to them ; )) The beach is beautiful and loved relaxing on the beach while having a pina coloda. The room was amazing with a breath taking view of the sunset over looking the ocean. Nightly entertainment was great [... read more] including a casino night for charity which we really enjoyed and donated to the Sandals Education fund for building schools! The resort is extremely well groomed and maintained and the staff are very friendly! I would return to this resort in a heart beat and would love to stay even longer! From the second you land you are treated like royalty, what an amazing feeling! La Toc is a must see to all travellers! This is not a 5 star, La Toc is. 10 stars!!!

Sandals Caribbean Cay: Great! but not typical Sandals vacation

A little about us 35-40 years old. We do a lot of traveling and this was our second Sandals vacation. Our first Sandals was at Royal Caribbean and this resort was not close to the luxury there but I will break it down for you in categories: We stayed at the beach side in the honeymoon beachfront club level. Location: it is far from the airport. Almost 1.5 hours. as long as you are aware of it, It won't bother you that much. Accommodation: STAY on beach side, the life is at the beach, we shuttl [... read more]ed to the butler side, large pool but we much preferred the beach side. The honeymoon villa is a 2 minute walk from the beach and is perfect! We did hear complaints about guests having to wait for shuttles to get to the beach. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and well decorated! BUT If you want absolute peace and quiet, butler side is for you. Walking: if you like lots of walking this resort is for you. Lots of stairs to get anywhere ...even to get to the beach! its not just one long strip of beach but its broken up so you have to do a lot of walking up and down stairs. We found it a bit tiring at times! Staff: The staff are really what made this vacation! they are so friendly and really go out of their way for their guests! Raquel, Stephen H, and Verona were all amazing and really went out of their way for us!! Food: Hit and Miss. Do NOT go to Kellys Dockside- it was horrible. Valentinos was excellent, Dinos pizza on butler side was great too! Kimonos was a wonderful experience, and great food Tex is amazing! The other restaurants were just average, we did not make it to Soy. Oh don't forget to tell the men to bring pants and closed toe shoes. We were turned away because our hubbys were wearing dress shorts at Kimonos Entertainment: beach party was fun! make sure you bring a white outfit! Steel drum band was AMAZING! Overall had a great time. I won't return because my expectations of Sandals was a bit disappointing after my first experience, but the smiles and laughs from the staff was well worth it!!

Sandals Grenada: It's NOT "all included"

We stayed for a week at the Sandals Grenada in March 2014. This was our first stay at a Sandals resort, so we were pretty excited. First, I can say without a doubt that this resort is stunningly beautiful and the food is out of this world. It's literally 5 minutes from the airport so transfers are a breeze. Once you arrive, the staff are truly wonderful. However, know what your vacation package includes. This resort has multiple tiers of "all inclusive" and you may find yourself dumbfounded on a [... read more]rrival to realize certain things are not included in your room category. Things like WIFI, room service and even alcoholic beverages in your room are not standard provisions at this resort. There are at least 10 different levels of services, each with a progressively higher price tag. If you know what you want for a good holiday, MAKE CERTAIN it's actually included to avoid disappointment.

Sandals Grande St Lucian: All expectations were met!

This resort met all our expectations...and those expectations are quite high. Sandals resorts are just a notch above the rest. Nothing has been forgotten. Although they are more expensive than others the extra money is well worth it.

Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort and Spa: Not as nice as Antigua

Having had a great experience at Sandals Antigua, we were somewhat disappointed with St. Lucia. The crowd was very different, much louder, more obvious drinking and smoking around the pool. Our room was not clean when we arrived and had to call to inform them that it was not acceptable. The food was very good; we were a party of 4 and most of the tables were set for 2 so we often had to wait longer than we should have; they would not put tables together. The guys played golf and found out toward [... read more]s the end of the game that the caddies do not get paid and rely on tips; $30 US each player which was not expected.

Sandals Grande St Lucian: Excellent resort for couples

My wife and I had a great time at the Sandals Grande St Lucian. The service and accomadation was excellent. The beach area is very pleasant with lots of sunny and shaded areas, even if you don't arrive early in the morning to reserve you place. The location is also outstanding, with very convenient scuba and snorkelling areas nearby. Guests also have access to the other 2 Sandal resorts nearby (about 15-20 minute using the hotel shuttle). Convenient transportation from and to the airport is prov [... read more]ided by helicopter if you are willing to pay an extra fee. The resort is also at waking distance to the Pigeon Island National Park, which is a great place to spend the afternoon and learn an little about the history of St Lucia, see the ruins of an old British fort and garrisons, and enjoy a great view from the island. On the negative side, my only complaint was that the food was not as good as I expected. The food was fine, but definitely not to the standards I expected from Sandals. Some restaurants in the resort, such as the Italian restaurant (I forgot the name) were quite pretentious but the food was no better than what you would get in any of the other more casual restaurants in the hotel. In summary, it was a great resort and I would return to it, despite of the somewhat disappointing food.

Sandals Caribbean Cay: A lovely lovers nest !

This was our 1st experience with an adult only all-inclusive. We went to celebrate our 20th anniversary and it really did feel like a week long date! We received excellent service from everyone. The staff made you feel well taken care of. The staff appeared to be loving their employment at this location. We did not tip( as per their policy) and we were never made to feel that we should. The ocean was lovely.....clear,warm,blue....beautiful. Our room was huge,clean,a/c with a view of the ocean. Down side-a peacock roosted from 5am on-wards every 5 mins and every single morning and we could not sleep. The sunrise was nice to see. The beach was ok. You could not walk the beach for exercise,too short. The gym was amazing! New equipment and no one there. The only disappointment was the nightly entertainment- simply,it was terrible. Night after night - 2 thumbs down.
