Secrets Aura Cozumel: Amazing time!

My boyfriend and I went with two other couples after researching many resort packages. We chose the swim up pool view suite. And we were very happy. Walking out of our room into a pool and being able to slide down the waterslide to get another drink at the pool bar was an added bonus to an already amazing time. The staff were amazing and extremely accommodating. Special shout out goes to Alejandro at the Oceana restaurant. He was extremely pleasant, attentive, and must have enjoyed our comp [... read more]any as well because he invited us back for a special dinner the following evening . He was amazing! Angel the bartender at the Rendezvous was excellent, quick and always knew what kind of cocktail to make. And had a mischievous smile on his face! The hotel was beautiful. The grounds were impeccably kept. The food options were plentiful and perfectly portioned. There were a few negatives. The major negative was the pools were absolutely freezing! We are talking below 80° freezing. Having some sort of heating system in the pools would have absolutely guaranteed more people getting in them. They were painfully cold. Also, the pool by the Manatee bar needed to have more access to the bar. It would’ve been nice to have a few more bridges over the pool from different areas of the deck. The pool is laid out in such a way that if you are lounging on one side of the pool, and you need to make a trip to the bar, you have to walk literally around the whole huge pool (because it was too cold to always get in the water to shorten the distance) to get there. Also, the pool deck had terrible drainage. After it rained, the puddles by the staircase were 2 inches deep at least. Which made walking through them at night after dinner a little difficult especially when wearing dressy shoes. My shoes were soaked! I believe it would be advantageous for them to have a better drainage system on their deck to get rid of the excess water. I would definitely return here however. But next time I come back, I would definitely like a swim up ocean view room. While I loved our room by the Manatee bar, they were a little tired and needed some freshening up. But still an amazing resort and we absolutely loved our time here.

Secrets St James: 13th trip was a charm

We can only get away for 3 nights due to responsibilities at home. We need a great resort close to the airport. Every minute in Jamaica counts and we do not have time for traveling further once we arrive on the island. We have be staying at Secrets since 2012. This was our 13th trip to Secrets Montego Bay. On our past trips we usually stayed at Wild Orchid Preferred. Unfortunately this building was totally booked by groups. First time staying at St. James Preferred. It was to our benefit. Al [... read more]l the rooms in our building had been recently painted and refurbished. The hotel staff were as wonderful as always. The grounds are being well maintained and improved. The only major disappointment was with our first dinner at Secret’s Bordeaux. We have found it in the past to be a special dining experience but in the last few years it has been touch and go. Considering this is a restaurant that requires formal attire both our dinners were an extreme disappointment. Usually this is the only restaurant we want to eat at every night for dinner. The saving grace was that being in a Secrets preferred building we had access the Breathless which is located beside Secrets. Breathless is about 2 years old and the environment and the food were a welcomed change and definite improvement from Secrets. The adventure started for us at Breathless at the restaurant on the first floor off the main lobby. It was Spoon for buffet breakfast (not as many menu options as World Cafe but the quality is superb! Dinners were at Culinaria (second nights dinner was continental and the last meal was Italian). Since we were staying at St James preferred the walk to Breathless was just outside our building by taking a bridge over the road. Our steps are numbered so we were in the best building closest to Breathless. Every meal we had at Breathless was purely an enjoyable dining experience. The staff at Breathless are second to none. We like staying at St. James Preferred because it was quieter and the ocean view is spectacular. Breathless was our choice destination for daytime at the pool and evenings at the rooftop bar to watch the cruise ships depart and enjoy the hills of Jamaica. The rooftop bar offered the best views when there was a sunset. I hope they continue offer this perk of being at 2 resorts in the same holiday. Can't wait for trip 14.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: One of the better Secrets

There were no surprises with this hotel it is exactly as pictured. Everything is laid out in a U-shaped centred around the pool. We paid for a oceanview room but I had wanted to upgrade to a tub on the patio. I found out that this would be a downgrade which was quite surprising. The majority of restaurants are such a short distance away from the rooms it is just a nice walk and is not far at all as some reviews lead you to believe . The entertainment was phenomenal. Every afternoon there was a band that played at the pool, there was always a violin player or a singer outside the theatre entertaining the crowds as well as the theatre itself . The service was above par. The drinks were served quickly, there was very little wait at the restaurants, housekeeping was prompt and kept our room clean. The lazy river at Dreams was a lot of fun and a nice perk. Just being able to walk over to Dreams is actually a nice perk . As the first full day of our arrival was very rainy we took up the offer to listen to the travel club presentation in exchange for resort credits. This presentation was to be 90 minutes. After the 90 minutes we advised we would not be purchasing. The sellers absolutely would not take no for an answer. They kept bringing another person to talk to us to make another offer. We continued to say no and requested our resort credits. They kept us for 2 1/2 hours before we finally got the credits. It was extremely frustrating and a very unpleasant way to start off our vacation.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Very lovely spot

This resort exceeded our expectations on many levels. There was plenty to do and the restaurants were very good. We enjoyed a bike tour and I especially liked that we rode to Ya Kul, a lagoon nearby. They provided very good tours also. Our tour to Tulum was guided by an excellent Dutch born guide.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Very pleasant resort

Pros: Very nice hotel. Grounds were well kept. Rooms were adequate although walls are paper thin. Dining was the highlight of this hotel. Food & service were excellent. Staff are very well trained. Enjoyed the hotel's entertainment. Cons: Music around pool and activities was very loud. "All Inclusive" allows for too much alcohol consumption which tended to create a loud and obnoxious environment. Alcohol service should be limited or refused to individuals who are inebriated. Secrets Huatulco: STUNNING VIEWS AND AMAZING WEATHER

We visited Secrets Huatulco for two weeks starting the end of December. This was our second visit to Secrets Huatulco, with our last visit being 4 years ago at the same time of year. They have a fabulous New Years Eve celebration which is one of the best we've been to at an all-inclusive resort. The resort itself is located in a beautiful cove with almost every room having a view of the beach and the view is spectacular. Although it is only a 10 minute cab ride to town, the resort has a remote [... read more] feel to it. The weather in Huatulco can't be beat. It was 30 and sunny all 14 days. The staff are super friendly and very helpful but are understaffed and run off their feet - especially noticeable around the pool and in the restaurants. Rooms are fairly large with a large bathroom area (somewhat open) and a glassed deck with unobstructed views. Super clean and not once was there anything missing, we always had clean towels, water, beer, etc. Ask for a room in one of the back buildings, top floor. Overall the food was okay but we've had better. Buffet items were often cold, especially at breakfast (we heard room service breakfast was better). There are lots of restaurant choices for dinner - our favourite was the Italian restaurant Chin Chin and next would be the French restaurant (can't remember name). Evenings can be fun with a couple of entertainment options including a live show in the theatre, or often live music in the Sky Bar. Sky Bar is where we spent most of our time meeting lots of fellow Canadians.The pools are absolutely beautiful and super big however be ready to save your chairs every morning because they fill up fast with many people saving them overnight. Same thing at the beach which is super hot if you don't get a palapa. Also note that the ocean is a bit rough some days for swimming. Although we really liked New Years Eve we did notice that the staffing, food and entertainment were somewhat better on our 2nd week of our vacation. Overall value is good for what you get and I believe its the nicest resort in the area, but not sure if I'd go back again.

Secrets Royal Beach: Enjoyable vacation

Both my wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Secrets. Staff was fantastic right across the board with a special mention to our butler (sounds pretentious and it is ... but it was the first time we ever splurged) Robinson "The People's Champion", he was awesome. Can't remember everyone's names but all were very good especially Santa, Israel, Junior, Eduardo, Jeffrey. Food was great- if you are complaining about it - you are way too picky. Room was everything we needed and wanted after a slight [... read more] initial hiccup. View was astounding and all the amenities we needed. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Secrets Huatulco: Great People...Great Resort

We had an amazing time at Secrets Hualtulco. The staff was friendly and welcoming and did everything the could to make our trip great. The food at times was a little disappointing in relation to other Secrets resorts we have experienced. Once again, Felicia from Trip Central helped us to get everything organized in three short days. We love Trip Central and how easy they make everything for us.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Wonderful Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Secrets Aura. The staff was very friendly, especially our bartender, Santiago in the Preferred Lounge. We found the food very tasty, the resort very clean. Our only disapointment was that they did not have nightly entertainment. You'd think an adults only resort would be a little more lively at night.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Great time at Secrets Akumal

This was our first time at an adults only resort. And it was a lovely time. Good food (vegetarian and gluten free options in the restaurants), beautiful beach, and very nice rooms. The nighttime entertainment was fairly good most nights as well.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Secrets Vallarta Bay

This is a great resort. It was our second visit to this location. The food, staff, and grounds are all top notch. We had a perfect room with a fantastic view from the 9th floor. The resort does have music playing until 11:30ish on many nights. If you like to go to sleep early then bring some ear plugs. The music didn't bother us but it might be an issue for some.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Again, great resort

This is our second time at Secreats Aura Cozumel, we like that it’s an adult only resort and we wanted to go diving again in Cozumel. Our last saty there was 2 years ago. The food, drinks and room was excellent with a comfortable bed. Loved every minute of our stay!

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Not so much

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Not what we were expected

Booked this hotel to celebrate moms's 70th and my 50th. First is not easy to get to down town Cancún or Hotel zone. It was 30 dollars each way to go out of the hotel, we were told it was 15 minutes from the airport and close to downtown it was not true. Is sold as a Resort & Spa "Adults only" so you expect quite time: Well it was not quite... there was too much noise full of drunk people. Noise until 2 or 3 in the morning. Upgrade is not need it. Why pay extra money for something you are no [... read more]t getting? This hotel is advertised as a 5 dimonds!!! Well is a long way to get there. The food is not what you expect from a five dimonds resort. I know it is all inclusive but you are paying a lot to be there and beside that the upgrade for the concierge privilege club is no necessary you get the same as eveybody else. Room service was very good and accommodating to our needs since my BF got sick (maybe the food?). There was lots of not smoking signs even in the washroom and there was not even one sign regarding not to drink the tap water im the room. The better restaurant was Oceana. Service was good, food was good. The main buffet has lots of room for improvement starting with the food contamination. The ideal on any buffet is that the last customer find the food as if he was the first customer... yes is a high expectation but when you pay that money you can't lower your expectations and you will losse your appetite when all you can see is like leftovers. Tried Gaucho at Dreams... lots of noise, i knew there was kids around. 1hr wait to seat 1 person and then the buffet was nothing but Disgusting. The French restaurant was ok. The italian restaurant was the best, food and service excellent, presentation was great. After complaining to the concierge Manager fir 2 days they offered a bottle of red wine not the best but hey! was included! After all we were happy at the wine cellar where we were allowed to have dessert just because we were getting engaged! But we got nothing special from the resort. All the employees are happy and willing to serve you very attentive but food management has room for improvement. Oh one last thing as a club privilege upgrade we got access to the Spa to the hydrotherapy... we asked for bathrobs and we never got them on our visit to the spa.

Secrets Huatulco: Fantastic Views

The resort property is very scenic....the views from room, sky bar and spa area is just wow! The resort is fairly small so it’s easy to get around. It may not be a good choice for someone who has mobility issues. Pools were beautiful, we preferred the quiet pool, again with an infinity view over the bay! Lots of loungers. Beach was nice and took a walk over to the secret beach and was the only one there! Food was good, breakfast buffet was plentiful, omelet and quesadill station.  [... read more] Castaways for lunch was good with scenic views of the bay. Spice was our favourite restaurant with lots of tasty appetizers to share. Resort is very quiet - if you’re looking to party go elsewhere. Entertainment didn’t usually start until 9:30 so there could be a bit of a lull between dinner and shows. The resort and rooms itself were kept very clean but could use some upgrades, not posh but clean!

Secrets Cap Cana: Beautiful Resort

Resort was spotless with outstanding service . Food and drinks were high quality and the little extras make the difference. Service around the pools and beach was excellent. Loved the live music around the pool. Highly recommend.

Secrets Papagayo Resort: Slice of awesome

Secrets Papagayo was excellent, panoramic view room was beautiful. Jeffery at the pool bar was entertaining and accommodating, JJ and Julio the drivers were entertaining and very friendly they remember your names and room #. Restaurants and food were excellent also Altogether Secrets was awesome would highly recommend to anyone 5 Stars in our books

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Let down

The hotel has a great reputation but we thought it wasn't up to standards🤔 Pool area not very clean... room services plates left in hallways for hours which was gross. Drinks inconsistent every day. Yes they have hard working employees for sure. But we have stayed at 8 different all inclusive sin PV and we not return to secrets. Unfortunately we payed a high price for this resort and it's not a 5 star at all.

Secrets Cap Cana: Best resort ever!

Everything was beautiful! The resort is well-planned out, the food was delicious and the decor incredible! The best part of the resort was by far the service. The staff were excellent and very welcoming. We will definitely be coming back here!

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Back for the 3rd time!

It's been a while since we've been to the Secrets Capri as prices have been high for a few years. Also our first time travelling to Mexico in December but the price was right! You fly into Cancun (air conditioned airport) which is great and have a 45 minute ride to the resort. The food and entertainment continue to be top notch. Rooms are clean and everyone is very friendly. We had one rain day but that is to be expected anywhere you go. No wrist bands needed and no reservations for restaurants with the exception of the Japanese. Top notch alcohol and the wine (white is great).
