Had a great time!!

The resort is huge. But it is well managed. Clean, efficiently run. No line ups. The food was great. Buffet was filled up before things were empty. The al a cartes were very good too. The people are exceptional. The rooms are large and clean. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Always my first choice

A top notch hotel in service, cleanliness, and staff, we have been going there for the last few years, I usually choose this chain of resorts , we have introduced our children and their spouses. My only regret is that I did not choose the adult only section, I found that there was way too many young children, I was looking for a relaxing quiet section

Best Bahia Principe Experience

Right from registering at the lobby (William) to getting the best room available, to the dining experiences (Maria Alexandra, Maria, Santos, and the whole team in the dining buffet area), to the various bars (Rafael, Juan Carlos etc.), to the tram drivers, the guest services, we had nothing but praises and smiling experiences. The vacations a whole was awesome!

The food was amazing (a lot of variety). I would definitely upgrade the rooms. The people were supurbe! Everyone was friendly and helpful The beaches were magnificent The pools were great Very family friendly

Beautiful & Amazing

Staffs are very friendly, rooms are well kept and clean, grounds are beautiful and the scenery are amazing. The food are excellent with a variety. The bars are great with a variety of drinks. The beach is excellent and clean and bar on the beach was excellent. The night shows at the Theatre were wonderful. The total over all of this resort is truly beautiful and amazing. I would surly visit again.

Amazing resort!

The resort was absolutely beautiful, beautiful landscape, great food and the workers were very kind and thoughtful. The beach was great! No rocks and no seaweed. The rooms were nice and cozy and our fridge was always stocked!

Amazing Resort

The hotel and the whole resort was wonderful. Lots of choices at the buffets. Staff in all areas were pleasant, and treated us like royalty. We would have prefer to pick our a la cartes ourselves as two were picked prior to us arriving.

3.5 Star at Best..

Overal the resort is need of a refresh. Old Towels, Old Bed Linens, Tired and limited buffet. Not enough lounge chairs. Dingy Bathrooms. Small snack bar. The kids water park and Air Travel with AirTransat where the best part of our trip.

Gorgeous Resort!

This resort was perfectly maintained, clean, well laid out and had amazing staff! Everything in our room worked perfectly and the cleaning staff did an awesome job each and every day! The staff all over the resort were friendly, helpful and cheery. Made our stay that much more enjoyable. Do be careful of purchasing things from people/vendors on the beach. We heard horror stories of those who bought excursions on the beach because they were cheaper rather than from an insured individual on the re [... read more]sort. The beach is owned by the state, therefore these people do not need permission or insurance to sell.

Amazing Resort and beautiful Beach!!!

The resort was very clean and my family received unbelievable service from their workers there. Very friendly workers and love the beaches, I just fall in love with the view and how amazing they welcome you there! I would go back again in a heart beat!

Great resort!

The hotel was so well kept and the staff were so friendly!! Beach was beautiful!! The food could have been a lot better, that would have made it a five star! I would recommend this resort to others, I do hope they upgrade their food though.

Worth the extra cost

The resort was absolutely beautiful!!! Nearly everything exceeded my expectations!! We were treated very well, however the housekeeping staff was fee hit and miss. Things got missed quite often and our fridge and other things weren't always restocked. Other then that my goodness what a vacation!!

I'd go back, tomorrow!

Great resort! Wonderful food with lots of choice. The beach and pools are lovely. The staff, was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We liked having lots to do. The only draw-back was having to get up early to reserve chairs by the pool or beach. Beautiful Sunrises.

Good Value

This Grand Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana is good value for your money. The grounds were kept immaculate, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the beach was well maintained and beautiful, and there was a wide variety of food to satisfy you at all times of the day. This resort however, fulfilled our standards for the price we paid for a mid winter getaway. It was very comfortable and safe, and the staff was extremely friendly. The resort is large, but it is made easy to find your way around with the trolley system running every 5 minutes. We stayed Royal Golden which I highly recommend as it was a minute walk to the beach and pool. I would recommend this resort to people of all ages who are looking for a weeks vacation in the sun to take a break from Canadian winters!

All-inclusive resort (construction in progress)

This hotel is part of a 5 hotels complex, with beautiful grounds and several pools. The beach is less than 30 mins walk away from the main lobby. All the hotels are within walking distance of each others or you can take the trolley which run constantly until 3 am on the main road. The building is 3 stories high, without elevators. The buffet restaurant is large enough, there is no waiting for a table. It opens for 3 meals/day with a hour or two closed during the day. If you missed the breakfast, [... read more] there is coffee/juice and pastry in the lobby bar or you can eat in the restaurant near the beach. There are activities only in the morning or after 4pm (darts tournament, zumba/stretch class, ping pong, aqua aerobic). Between 8-10pm, there are evening entertainments. We enjoyed the Michael Jackson shows while we visited. We find the activities are not well-organized or the location may change at the last minute without notice. The reception or guest services can not provide any help in this regard. Free 1 hour Wi-Fi (in the lobby) is included in the basic all-inclusive package. Unlimited wi-fi can be purchased for $59 USD/week. Safety deposit box ($4 USD/day) is not included in the basic all-inclusive package. There are several smaller souvenirs stores within the complex, and a good size one close to the lobby for purchase of items you forgot to bring (sunblock, sunglasses, snacks, bathing suits, hat, beach cover-up). The prices you need to pay is significant higher, all items are priced at USD. ($24 USD for small bottle of sun block) The a la carte restaurants are good. You can order from the menu and enjoy the salad buffet with a variety of hot/cold items. You can book your reservation before your arrival. If you try to walk in without reservation, you will be turned away. There is a orientation session (from your Air transat/air can local rep) the day after your arrival. Be sure to attend to get the most of your stay. Pool near our building is of a good size, but not enough lounge chairs if you arrive after 10am. Same thing for the beach. Many people come early to leave their towels on the chairs, you will see many empty chairs with towels on them. Guest services/front desk is mostly very helpful, with the exception of few staff who cannot answer our questions. This was not a language issue, but rather a lack of willingness to look into the matter. The food in the buffet has enough selections. There is usually a line-up for cook to order eggs.

Huge Resort

Pros. -Great food selection -Lots of Gluten free / Celiac choices -Friendly staff -Royal golden section conciger changed my room within 5 minute when I had an issue with my room (water flooded from a toilet) Cons -Gym could use some work (but who cares about working out on vacation?!) -Too many sales people on beach trying to sell junk (not a huge deal it is to be expected) -Some bars ran out of certain types of liquor randomly

Really nice vacation

Clean room, good food, friendly staff, amazing beach, nice pools, great music and show all around. Very much enjoyed my time there. A few things that could use improvements: Not enough beach chairs with shades so we went early in the morning to reserve them with towels everyday. We were on vacation with family and their room amenities had some issues (fridge and safe didn't work). You can request to have your room moved, it takes some time so that's not ideal. Our room had the shower head fall off so we had to get that fixed. Excursions: we booked horseback riding which was fantastic. But, the transportation there and back was not fun time. Open back of a diesel truck so you're breathing the smell the whole time. yuk Our resort was the first pick up spot and last drop off. Ask the travel agent about transportation if you're sensitive about air/smell. Make sure to make al la carte reservations ASAP, they fill up quick. Go to evening shows in theatre which were very entertaining. They also have kids shows.

Their service standards have been increased for the better; not feeling harassed for tipping. Grounds wonderful, staff very nice and professional, room ok. Next time would ask for a non connecting room.

Right place to go!

Super clean, food great, employees exceptional! This is my second time and will definitely go back next year! I am recommending this to everyone! Shows are exceptional! I think that the workers should be appreciated and given tips to make them proud!

Don't go!!!!

The food on the buffet was the same daily, and never the correct temperature. The majority of the front line staff didn't speak English or even attempt to. The resort is very large and the service is poor possibly because of the size. Beware the sand fleas. The rooms are lovely but the mattress is hard as a rock.
