Simply Perfect

The first time vacationing for Nicki and I, this resort was absolutely amazing! Very friendly staff, short walk to the beach and great food, perfect swim up bar with courteous and quick bar staff. The beach was beautiful and we were able to walk all around without fear of stepping on corals or rocks. If you are looking to travel somewhere RELAXING with no kids (16+ only) then this is exactly where you need to be. We will visit again for sure! 100%!

Awesome Vacation

We stayed 10 days at Memories Caribe and had a very relaxing vacation! The staff in all areas of this resort were SUPER friendly, including the groundskeepers. The beach was incredible...you can walk for miles along the coast! Beautiful resort.

Like home

Just got back from Memories Caribe Cayo Coco. Even though it rained and was windy almost every day we still swam and had fun. The food was good and the drinks cold. The best part of the hotel was the staff. Kind, caring and attentive. Sharing their life stories with us and bringing us fruit from their gardens. We felt like we were with our extended family. We exchanged gifts, hugs and e-mails. Definitely will be going there again. Miss it already.

BAD TIME RESORT

It all started with Sunwing time and flight changes, paid for the wife elite seating 240.00 to be to gather on plane 41/2 months before leaving got bumped non-stop flight forget that had to go though customs 2 times at 2 airports in Cuba I want the 240.00 back. The resort rooms A/C set at 80f you can't change it, hot water if there was any water at all, don't tip the maid you don't get the service, food buff.day1 fish day2 rice day3 BQ chicken Next 11 days pork leg, they would stir up the fo [... read more]od and put it out the next day. The pool they where still cleaning everyday at 10 a.m. There was 8 of us friends we all got sick (runs).The place is getting old and run down. We have gone to this resort 3 years in a row and have seen no improvements, it's going down hill.

Not the best

First off the resort is under construction and remodeling. They are more worried about it then what is wrong or broken with the old section.if they fixed what is wrong withe the units that the guest were staying in first and who were paying now l would see giving them a great review. But l will give a bad review. L just came back after 14 days there from Oct 20 till November 3. This is our second time here and our last we booked our trip in first of July and asked to have a bottom floor .but when we got there they had use on the second floor and my wife can,t do the stairs ,they said maybe in 2 or three days they could do something for me. I told them who was going to carry her up the stairs . Luckily a nice young couple who very checking in who heard what was going on and offered their room on the bottom to us l just wished we had got their names . The many things that were wrong were no water pressure in the room ,it hard to have a shower with very little water . Next there was no screen door on the patio doors and the bugs were bad this time so bring bug spray. Next is the food ,they try hard to cook it right but need help l feel. The bartender in the piano bar is the greatest in mixing drinks thou. Well there is more but not now we will not be back there .

Bothersome Booking .... still continue

The resort itself is wonderful, as are most of the staff. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. The food this time around was the best I've ever had in Cuba. (3rd time at Memories Caribe, 6th time in Cuba) The issue I have is with what is available for booking. At Memories Caribe, you can book the type of room you want. Having been there several times, I booked and paid for a Superior Lakeview Balcony room. Upon arrival, I was told that it wasn't available as they were all under renovation. I exp [... read more]lained that I paid for a Superior Lakeview Balcony room. The girl at the front desk kept aplogizing and saying there wasn't anything she could do. Told us to talk to the Sunwing rep. Which we did. He sent us to talk to Guest Services, who apologized, explained that the rooms were under renovation, and she was downright rude and condescending. It wasn't until we put up a fuss and asked to speak to the manager that we got any sort of resolution/compensation. I get it. The rooms were approved for renovation after we booked (or so the manager explained). THEN upon arrival, it should have been explained to us and they should have offered some sort of compensation/upgrade (which they ultimately did) at that time. That I would have understood. The fact that we had to talk to several people and got the same unacceptable response really dampened by vacation experience. I am positive that we were NOT the only guests in the same situation. Upgrading someone to Diamond Club isn't always the answer which they seem to feel it is. If I would have wanted Diamond Club to start with, I would have paid for it. To me it's more about the acknowledgement on their part. Had they done that upon our arrival, I would be writing a totally different review. Even worse, today I log into tripcentral and Superior Lakeview Balcony rooms are still for sale. At a cost of $80 more than a Gardenview room, which is where most guests will end up. VERY UNFORTUNATE. When I rate service as POOR - it's because of the arrival desk and guest services (although Julia and Ernesto did make every effort later to make sure things were going well). Bar staff, restaurant staff - FANTASTIC service.

The best vacation ever

Everything was nice, clean , colorful & organized .All personal's were very nice & friendly, entertainments were amazing .I loved the food, pool & even they were cleaning the beach ! I had a great time & maybe go back again there .Big thanks to all

Somewhat dissapointed

Having gone to this resort last October we found that the rooms during our stay this year between Sept 28th and October the 6th was dissapointing. The first room we got showed 27 degress and would not go down. Requested a changed of room and the hotel opened 2 different rooms and asked me to choose. Despite my asking for a room with an AC that worked, they did not have a clue. Ended up with a room at 24 degress all the time, not what I call acceptable and note that we had 2 singe beds for a mar [... read more]ried couple. Beach is Awesome as always, BEAUTIFUL. Food is quite good for Cuba. Hurricane Matthew blew by without disruption of our vacation.

Paradise !

This was my second time at MEMORIES CARIBE BEACH RESORT and it was better than the first time. The staff are fantastic very friendly especially the main buffet chiefs and waiting staff they will go above and beyond for you . The beach/pool and hotel grounds are clean and kept up very well. The only complaints I have are that they need more venders to visit the resort threw out the week to buy gifts and the other complaint is that the room cleaning staff (not all only a few ) could be more frie [... read more]ndly and not so rude. Other than that this is an awesome resort

Good resort

Needs a little matainence but the beach is awesome. The beds are a little hard and the rooms need to be touched up anupgrade to the rooms would make this a true four star hotel. The staff was super nice!

Horrible

This was the worst vacation ever. No hot water or air conditioning. The staff was rude and favoured their own nationality. The only great thing about this place is the beach. Not worth the stay even with the cheap Prices

Great Resort

This is our second trip to this resort, it has everything you could ask for to have a great vacation. Great food, clean and above all amazing staff. They make you feel like family from the time you arrive until you leave. I'm counting down the days until our next trip.

Nice stay

Hello, our trip was very nice. As usual staff at the resort were very nice, pleasant, funny and with good English (reception desk especially). Food was amazing and the staff at the buffet restoran was exceptional. Room was very clean and air conditioning worked great. Gardens around hotel are really nice and well kept. Desperately needs more palapa shades!

The rooms were standard. The beach was great! This resort needs a major investment in umbrella shades by the pool and at the beach. There is literally no shade to hide under from the blistering sun. Customer service needs major improvement as requests seemed to get passed on from one employee to the next without ever being resolved. I requested a new bed mattress and never received one. I had to make do with a bed that could break the back of an elderly person. Reception seemed incapable of sim [... read more]ple requests in the morning to order a taxi for the evening. The people who did do their jobs such as the gardeners, the pizza makers, the bar tenders and the wait staff in the dining hall were exemplary. The food was repetitive and generally unpalatable with the exception of pizza at the beach which was great! The grounds of this resort was well tended and lush. It is the most attractive part of this resort.

Great getaway!

Memories Caribe was a really great first Cuban trip! The hotel was clean, rooms were large, and the staff was so nice. The service we received made us feel special as they were all friendly and accommodating. The food was okay but the fantastic wait staff made everything better. When we left, they played their music for us, gave us drinks and waved good-bye as the bus drove off. When we picked up other travellers from the neighbouring resorts, we didn't see their staff doing that for their gue [... read more]sts leaving. Not so bad.

Unfortunately, I was not has happy has I first stay 2 years ago at Memories Carribe. Let me start with the positive things about it. Beach...outstanding, beautiful, well maintained, plenty of places to seat. Grounds are absolutely well maintained. Piano Bar my favorite place. Staff outstanding. They are happy people, very kind. Buffet area, no air conditioning, hot like hell to eat in there, this should definitely be improved. Food not so bad, I always found something to eat, breakfast was my fa [... read more]vorite meal. Pizza on beach and fries and hotdogs at bar very good. Room was ok, but AC was hardly working, that for me was my major issue. Both rooms were at 30-32 every day. We complained but they said they were having problems with their system. I asked around and most people were having the same problem. This is huge with no AC in the rooms and hot like crazy outside, you need to cool of somewhere. This should be fixed ASAP.

Vacay at Memories Caribe Cayo CocoCuba

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the resort. Spacious rooms well maintained and clean. Beautiful gardens meticulously manicured, friendly and curious staff that we just loved, and a breathtaking beach! Great places to hang out - the piano bar, snack bar and around the pool. Only downside was the buffer- slim pickings. The pizza and grill at the beach was great as well as the snack bar at the pool. The buffet had fresh pasta and sir fry every-night along with fresh grilled fish of the day. Different grilled meat - roasted pork or chicken was very good. The beef not so much. The a la carte Asian was great and fast service. The international rest also great. Resort pets a plus!!! It's becoming a adults only nov. 2016. Oh also the allegria water show at the pool with prof. Dancers also a must see!!

Awesome resort

The staff were very nice and efficient. Our room was always beautifully cleaned and our view was outstanding. The drinks were amazing as Well as the bar service. The food was great especially the dinners. Entertainment was great and the environment was pleasant, definitely will be heading back soon!

Not up to par

The grounds were nice and maintained, but the service was horrible. Most of the wait staff refused to help out or get anything that wasn't at their station. They also never had spoons. There were a few amazing employees.

Nice beach...bad resort

The beach was the only good thing about the resort. The food was subpar, and the vast majority of the staff were not helpfull. The resort was always out of spoons and soda. The rooms were clean, but the Air conditioning did not work. To say the beds were uncomfortable is an understatement. You could not walk around the resort at night without getting eaten a live by mosquito.
