Brisas Sierra Mar: Very nice

Location of this resort makes out for what it offer. This place has so much to offer ther is beutifull moutains ocean and also off the beatch snorkeling. Not much to do in resort but if you adventures you can explore surrounding area.

Carisol los Corales: great time excellent staff

nothing to complain about, remember this is Cuba and it was great! Weather, people, food....you wont go hunger. I am going back and will continue to travel here! It is a great place for just couples and for kids.

Brisas Los Galeones: Very nice and relaxing!

This was a very small resort and the service was excellent. The food was very good and was al a carte. The grounds were lovely. The pool was a little small but we are not pool people. We had the beach to ourselves most days as there were 300 stairs down to the beach. We would eat our lunch and stay down there most of the day. The stairs might be difficult for some people. We would come back to this resort.

Carisol los Corales: Perfect location, very nice personal.

Room service good, publics places good, entertainment very good beautiful dancer's. Food not bad for the price. Weather all way good. I recommend trip to the city Santiago da Cuba for every friend and I have a plan to go for the third time.

Brisas Los Galeones: Relaxing spot

The resort is small and relaxing and although it is a long bumpy ride to the location from the airport when you get there you feel like you are at home. There is no loud music, or entertainment and you feel like you are isolated but the staff is very friendly and attentive to all your needs that you forget that there is little to do other than relax and enjoy the scenery.

Average beach but good service, friendly employees..food okay..would like to see a toilet area on beach too far to walk for elderly people to reach washroom from beach...beautiful view of the mouintains...

Carisol los Corales: We love it!

The hotel is in a beautiful locatin In a national park. We go twice a year, in late October and early March. This is a perfect time to destress and recharge you batteris. And it hardly ever rains there. The beach is beautiful although rocky in places. We spend all day on the beach. Rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The food is organic and simply prepared. You can taste what you are eating. You may get more food and more variety in a four and five star hotel if that is what you are looki [... read more]ng for, but we are happy with the food here. If you like spicy food, bring your own spice. We also enjoy nightly entertainment. With small improvements, The hotel could easyly become a four star hotel.

Brisas Sierra Mar: Best kept Secret

This is not a hotel for you if your looking for 5 star accommodations.No luxuries.Black sand beach from volcanic activity ions ago..But if your looking for clean.good food(plain and simple)hospitality and a feeling of always coming home(have been 6 times)Magnificent sunsets, mountains all around,weather perfect all the time. This is one big family and everyone that have come with us to Brisas are now family as well and have all returned.

When we think of this hotel a smile crosses my face that no one could even imagine. This our winter getaway home, we have heard from many of the clients say where they have been to and how much better & newer it was.... And then it came, it was a lot more costly. Carisol los Corales: Great place to relax

Staff were wonderful and always helpful, not the best place for small children there were lots of older men with very young Cuban girls. We will go back if the price is right. The best place to snorkel

Excelent location -Brisas Sierra and Mare - that what yoy need to relax perfectly - hospitality of hard working staff amaizing!For sure I will visit this resort again and again - beuty of nature, almost not spoil.

Good for people on diet.There is always porc or chiken noon and rice,omellette in the morning. Some fish too. Enough beer and rhum to get drunk every day.If you like to be close to the pool and on the ocean,listening at the wave all day at a reasonable price also good.Don't need much walking to get around. Also one area with natural bassin in the ocean protected from the wave by recif.Safe.If you like Santiago de Cuba area,many time a 14 day same price as a air fare. Brisas Los Galeones: Great for the over 60 crowd

This was our fifth visit to this resort. The resort itself is adults only and quite small, only 32 rooms all with great views. If you are looking for non stop entertainment, water sports and a very large beautiful beach then this is definitely not the spot for you. But if you are a senior, want just to relax, read and soak in the sun it is perfect. There are just under 300 steps from the resort down to the ocean where there is a small beach and a very small pool at the resort level. The beach is [... read more] good for snorkeling but not swimming as there is a lot of coral and rock. There is a beach bar and a barbecue lunch is served at the beach, so once you make the hike down you can spend the day. Unfortunately when it's time to climb back up the sun is usually at it's hottest :) At the beach you will be visited by goats and this year two mother pigs and their piglets also visited daily. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The road from the airport to the resort has improved 90%, the food is good for Cuba but if you stay longer than 1 week it does become very monotonous as the menu repeats itself. There are singing groups that come at dinner time and they are always very good. We travelled with Hola Sun and never once saw our rep either at the resort or airport which was very disappointing so we were unable to book trips off the resort. Los Galeones has a sister resort Sierra Mar which is about 20 minutes away. A shuttle bus (when and if it's running) will take you there in the morning twice a week and return you in time for dinner. So you can spend the day at Sierra Mar and your bracelet from Los Galeones is all you need to eat and drink there. From Los Galeones you are able to walk down the hill to visit the village of Chivrico and this is a great experience. The weather is usually quite hot in March (when we have gone in the past). All in all we had good time but are undecided at this point if we will return. I see that the next questions asks if we would recommend this hotel to a friend, I will say yes because we are seniors but I would definitely not recommend it to our children.

nice rooms, beach was rocky but this was not long after hurricane sandy. pools were perfect as was the alcohol! food was good for Cuba but people if you're expecting food like here do us a favor and stay home! then you dont have to complain and we dont have to hear it while on vacation.

Loved how all rooms were centred around the pool. Employees were great. Always a smile when they greet you.The use of the two resorts was nice. About the food.. It is Cuba but we could also find something to eat and the pizza. And spaghetti was good.

Melia Santiago: The only decent hotel in Santiago

I would expect much more from the Melia hotel chain but since we are talking about Cuba, the hotel is certainly the best option for travelers to Santiago. The rooms are tired with dated furniture. Bathrooms are moldy and the tap water is yellow with a pungent earthy smell. Service is decent and the staff is generally friendly with the exception of the security guards by the elevators who look at everyone with suspicion. Brisas Los Galeones: Simply peaceful!!

Beautiful resort with stunning views all round. Very clean rooms and friendly staff. Great resort if you're looking for peace and tranquility. The beach was clean and very quiet, there's a little rock pool off to the side with about 5 different types of fish.
