Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great resort!

Beautiful grounds. Clean rooms. Good food. Unfortunately service at the front desk was poor. Slow and disinterested staff. No beach or room towels on 2 days. No explanation given. Beach and pool beds were hard to find but it was a busy time of the year.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana: Great resort for our friends getaway

We can't complain about any aspect of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, the cleaning staff were wonderful. We traveled with a group of 14 we were always able to get lounge chairs together at the pool and beach. And at the meals we ate together no problem sitting together. Wait staff in the buffets were awsome as were the bar keepers. Loved the resort and can't wait to go back.

Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: nice resort

The first 3 days our building had no hot water in our room that made showering very difficult. Day 4 we had warm water. Food was good and service was good. Clean rooms. The staff were good and the games poolside were fun.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Barcelo Bavaro Beach

Beautiful Beaches and Grounds. Wide selection of dining options and good variety of food. The hotel rooms were a bit tired but they were clean and a good size. Overall staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Lovely resort

Overall, the resort was lovely. The lazy river was definitely a highlight, especially as the main pool close to the beach is small and seemed to be primarily filled with people who wanted access to the swim up bar. The beach was gorgeous, plenty of sun chairs and plenty of shade. Food and service were hit or miss. Buffet was mediocre at best - the best options were fresh made omelettes/eggs and grilled sandwiches. Of the a la carte restaurants, our best experiences were at Rio (Brazilian)  [... read more]and Zen (Japanese teppanyaki). We went to Rio on my husband's birthday - they accommodated and earlier seating, food was delicious (salad bar was nice to have) and the staff made a big show out of celebrating my husband's birthday with a whole cake and song and dance! We had high expectations of Hunter steakhouse and unfortunately we were very disappointed. Despite having a reservation, we waited an hour to be seated. Everyone received their appetizer but me - I finally received it after asking 3 times. And service was extremely slow. Our room was excellent - totally worth the upgrade to the 1-BR suite with our two teenage boys - plenty of room for the 4 of us, 2 full bathrooms and an incredible view! Overall, we had a wonderful time but would likely return to one of the other two resorts we have been to in DR over this one.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Average, would not go again.

Service was not so great. No one is willing to address service issues if they are not selling you something or trying to get your money they are not interested in you. Had an issue with the room request. Asked for 1 king bed for 50th birthday celebration got room with two double beds. Front desk was very dismissive when we tried to get the issue resolved and it never was. We were told no request was sent to them and there are no rooms with 1 king bed. The day of my birthday it rained hard al [... read more]l day. The tile used on the walkway from the hotel to the beach is very slippery when wet, no signage at all. I was walking barefooted but still slipped and fell hard, banged up my right knee pretty badly and twisted my right ankle and toe. I limped my way down to the beach restaurant and bar as we were closer there than to the lobby. When we got there I was bleeding, the staff just looked at me but offered no help. Another guest saw what was going on and offered help, he called his wife over, she spoke Spanish and she got the staff moving to call someone to help me clean and dress the wound. Food was average, very salty overall. When we mentioned it they said oh yes we like the salt in DR. Overall it was somewhere to escape the cold so that was ok but we will not be going there again ever.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Lacking appeal and vibe

Entire resort is lacking appeal and vibe! No quality information upon arrival or documentation anywhere to assist you in learning about the resort and what your stay experience included will be. Cold water all week only almost warm 1 morning 4-5 am housekeeping had door entry issue but nobody fixed it all week I was able to remove a sliver of wood and a screw that seemed to help allow the key card to allow the door to open. Th [... read more]e room was very old and the bed frame was broken and dangerously sticking out from under the one bed I used the other bed the patio door wouldn’t lock most of the light switches and wall sockets or bulbs were not working No drain plug for sink no or tub! Lack of staff at every bar usually a lineup of 5-10 people to get a drink no coffee bar u til 10 am had to go to buffet for morning coffee The PH was not satisfactory in the 3 pools by the shore all week The only good server was at the coffee bar other bars had u friendly servers and not good drinks except 1 guy at the bar near the lobby the customer relations rep saw me waiting for him while he was with others and then left and ignored me when I tried to get his attention The resort stores pricing was beyond outrageous I’ve never seen such high markup at any other resort I’ve been to! The watersport and also mini put was non existent and I didn’t see a youth club anywhere or kids club No lifeguards and the ocean was only green flag 1 day and in my opinion it appeared as high waves crashing the shore as yellow flag days Whatever entertainment there was was ??? Never found any and I was told 9 at the theatre but left at 930 and nothing happened Vendors were pushy at buffet nightly Lack of staff for March break and it led to a massive loss of enjoyment for many people on holiday Lots of smaller issues and other issues I haven’t addressed here :). Expensive week! Not great! Much improvement needed!

Coral Costa Caribe: Nice resort !

Hotel very cleaned, food very good. Needs more staff in the buffet area. One evening clients had to set there own tables by getting ustensiles, napkins erc a couple of clients pick up the red wine bottle from the counter, pour themself a drink and return the bottle On the counter... 98% of the staff do not speak english or french. They do not understand even little sentences. Very hard to communicate with the restaurant, buffet and cleaning staff. The bar pool, my comments and many touri [... read more]sts also usually the pool has about 3 1/2:feet of water before reaching the bar then to a certain part of the pool the water goes up to 4 feet. Fron the pool stairs the depth of the water starts at 41/2 feet or is only 5 feet Not very practical for clients who do not know how to swim and also anyone who would like to walk with a drink in there hand. Some kids had to stay in there parents arm. This is the first hotel that I see that has so much water in the bar pool.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Beautiful resort away from the huscle of Puerto Plata

Grounds are lovely good situation on beautiful beach. Usually very windy which is why its a Kite surfing spot.Most staff helpful and friendly. Building maintenance needs improvement. We had problems with our room AC and door lock, both of which needed to be replaced thus waisting one day of our holiday !!

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Great resort

Clean, right on the ocean, surf was rough with yellow flag most days. Great staff. Food was excellent. Pools nice, grounds beautiful. Option to upgrade but did not do so- not necessary for us. Did not go on any excursions.

Serenade All Suites Adults Only Resort: Amazing resort

Amazing, cleanlyness, food, entertainment, pools Yailin in entertainment is awesome. She involved everybody and she is so fun to be with. She made the entertainment. Full of energy and motivated in a positive way

Ocean Blue and Sand: Lovely Resort

The resort was wonderful. Very well kept grounds. Rooms were clean. Pool areas were great. Beach was spectacular. Ate at all the à la carte restaurants, fantastic meals and the buffet was also terrific. Entertainment was also very good. I’d definitely go back.

El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Give it a 4

The resort was beautiful, rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. However we were disappointed in the Adult only El Beso. Most services are on the family side so very little on adult side except for one restaurant, small lobby and one small snack bar under renovation. The Pool was great and the pool bars. Almost impossible to get bar staff attention from outside the pool. They advertise a juice bar on dry side of the pool but no one ever there. Information on activi [... read more]ties is very difficult and frustrating to find. We missed most because always found out after the activity had taken place. The party pool was very loud especially when our room was right behind the boom box. The balcony was beautiful but we could not enjoy any sitting or reading between 3 to 6 pm. Which would have been our time to relax after a full morning in the sun, pool and beach. So for adults who want a quiet afternoon, do not stay in building 11. The Piano bar in main lobby was a great surprise which we totally enjoyed. We were disappointed to learn that there were free shuttles available to other Ocean' hotels and gift shops. We only found out on our way back to airport. Only one shop on premises, limited choice and very expensive. The beach was only ok, mostly rocky so not inviting for swimming but to sit, watch and listen to the surf was therapeutic nonetheless. The A la Carte restaurants were a welcomed feature. We did enjoy our week and air Transat was great but I would not give this resort any more than a 4 star. There are many pros with having all services concentrated in one area but lots of cons too. One suggestion would be to add a coffee shop on the Adult side. There is only one coffee shop on the resort and there is a constant line up beginning before opening at 7AM. Definitely better communication re activities and not total reliability on QR codes. Not everyone is able to work this. Thank you. Hope my comments help improve this hotel for future. We would not return to this resort.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Amazing Resort

We just spent 28 Days at this resort and we loved everything about it. We have been here several times before and it is still one of our favourites. Staff are friendly and our room was wonderful. The grounds were always well maintained. Special thanks to Louise from Trip Central for going above and beyond.

Secrets Royal Beach: One word - EXCELENTE !

Just an overall amazing experience that exceeded our expectations. Quality of the food, level of service, amenities all exceptional! Although the Resort was near capacity, we never had to wait for service or to be seated at a restaurant. Beach and pool areas were exceptional and always clean.

Serenade Punta Cana Beach and Spa Resort: Good family vacation place

The hotel and grounds were clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Big enough with plenty to do but small enough to walk everywhere. The beach was lovely, shallow for a long way and no dangerous waves. We did get whiffs every once in a while while outside of a sewage smell ??? Although there was tremendous choice at the buffet I was very careful of choices( eggs and some meat seemed undercooked). I drank only bottled water and still came down with travellers sickness( as did a few other fam [... read more]ily members). All in all a good budget friendly vacation.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Amazing food

This is an amazing resort. The staff is friendly and helpful. We had a 2 week stay but unfortunately I ended up in the hospital the second week with a pneumonia. We received calls from the staff to inquire how we were. The food at this place is outstanding, the buffets we overwhelming, we had the option to book for dinner at a couple of restaurants, but never bothered. Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: The best resort I ever stayed in in my life

I have to name my butler Arling and recreation and entertainment person Victor. These two individuals made my stay and my family stay beyond incredible they are amazing employees and deserve special recognition. Had a medical emergency and were treated spectacularly by Dr Rodrigues and nurse

Riu Republica: I will not return

I had a very disappointing experience at the hotel’s spa, where I felt I was treated in an unprofessional and discourteous manner by the receptionist. I reported this incident to the general manager; however, I did not receive any acknowledgment or apology in response, which was particularly disappointing. On a positive note, the food was generally of good quality and offered a wide variety. That said, a few of the restaurants appeared to be mismanaged, with long and, in my view, unnecessary  [... read more]queues. Additionally, I found it concerning that there were no lifeguards present on the beach, especially given the strong waves.

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Great time!

Great restaurants, buffet could have used more selection and servers. Resort was beautiful, amazing evening entertainment, lots of poolside chairs to choose from, a larger resort but never felt busy or crowded. There were people on the resort trying to sell upgrades, packages, excursions than we were used to. After they knew we weren’t interested, they would leave us alone.
