Sandals Dunn's River: Great Resort

Jewel Dunn's River is a beautiful well cared for resort. It's recently part of the Hilton Collection, however I think Jewel has an amazing thing already. The beach is small, but there are always plenty of beach chairs to choose from. Every morning the staff clean the beach of sea weed and and garbage from guests left behind. The s [... read more]taff is very friendly and the entertainment staff definitely enjoyed their roles in ensuring that everyone had a great vacation. I wasn't a fan of the two bus drivers who drove us to and from the airport. One griped about how he depends so much on tips, and the other informed us of all the places we could indulge in the local herbs. The food was very good in general. The buffet breakfast in the morning was pretty standard, but very good selection overall. In the afternoons we usually went to the grill or the pizzeria. The grill had a great selection and we did love the jerk chicken and pork options. Same goes for the Pizzeria. It was amazing and so many choices. I think we had most of that menu and it was delicious. I highly recommend the veggie pizza and the pork calzone. I wasn't a fan of the dinner on the pier. We wanted to sit alone, but there were only tables of 8. We also ended up sitting near the end of the pier where there was a saxophonist playing right next to us. We ended up leaving the dinner early. It was even more disappointing since there were no other restaurants open. There rooms were average, but clean and well maintained. Overall I would recommend this resort to others, but I'm not sure I would return. This resort is too small for my taste. I'd prefer a nice long beach to walk along. I feel the local staff was great, however I found some of the entertainment to be "hokey". It seems that they really went overboard to emphasize Jamaican stereotypes, like saying, "everyone who loves rum, say 'ya mon'." Just a little too much for my taste.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Amazing 4* Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Jewel Paradise Cove. This is a solid four star resort with great value and a lot of soul. Rooms We had a second floor pool view room (228) which would not have been our first choice but we booked last minute and were limited. The room itself was clean and spacious with a huge walk in shower and a comfortable king bed. Maid service was good and we often returned to our room to find flowers on the bed. We generally prefer upper level rooms for security and vi [... read more]ew but the balcony was very tiny and uncomfortable so a ground floor room would have enabled us to pull up lounge chairs in front of the patio. Food Overall the food was good. We never had a bad meal but we never had a stellar meal either. Portions in the à la cartes were tiny but this left us room to sample some of the delicious Jamaican dishes at the buffet. We were tempted to pass on the teppanyaki restaurant but were very glad we didn’t. Not only was the food delicious but the chef kept us all in stitches throughout the evening. The coffee hut was a nice touch and both the dining under the stars and beach party events were very well done. (We enjoyed the entertainment as well.) The Property Typically we would rather spend time lounging and swimming at the beach rather than the pools. At JPC we walked down to the beaches and never set foot in the water. A bit disappointing but the pools were great and the swim up bars outstanding. The slide was fun too. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Extras We enjoyed the Konoko Falls experience. The staff were excellent guiding us up the falls and taking pictures and we were impressed with the tour of the gardens afterwards. We ordered the jerk pork and jerk chicken which were both delicious. We dive five dives while at the resort and found the dive masters and equipment to be excellent. Fortunately there were a number of interesting dive sites within five minutes of the resort as the same boat is used for snorkeling, glass bottom boat tours, diving and the sunset cruise. A word of caution – since this boat gets so much use the motors are in rough shape. Should they both go down at the same time water sports would grind to a halt. Staff This is where this resort really shines. We never met a staff member without a smile or a greeting and a genuine willingness to help out. Take lots of small bills for tips since it can be difficult to break down larger bills at reception.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Grand Palladium Jamaica

Very clean, friendly staff, great food. Pools & beaches were very clean. lots of activities on the resort. Can't complain. Price was good too. Hotel room was clean, thank god for AC in the rooms. the only thing I didn't try was the spa (didn't have time) and the gym is great too.

JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar: Really great resort

Excellent food, very friendly and attentive staff, nice beach front and lost of poolside activities for those who want it. Restaurants are individually unique with their own style and fabulous presentation of meals. You can not go wrong at this resort.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Fun and relaxing Resort

I spent 2 weeks at Royalton white sands with no complaints. Resort is Friendly, clean and beautiful! Great food, lots of choice of restaurants and staff were great and accommodating. I wouldn't have it any other way.I would definitely go back.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Great resort/people

Would definitely go back. The staff was excellent, friendly. The hotel layout was easy to manage and everything was close and accessible. The iberostar suites next door offers a bit more luxury but I'm very satisfied value-wise.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Amazing resort and staff

Hotel was extremely clean. All the staff were very welcoming. They were all very pleasant and made sure you were always comfortable. The food was great. The spa was amazing. I will definitely like to visit this resort again. There was construction but it did not bother me at all. Definitely a great resort and I will definitely visit this resort again. Not to forget to mention the staff of trip central has always been amazing and was part of making this trip a memorable one for me.

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall: great staff and a relaxing place to go

The resort is very relaxing an staff do everything to ensure your stay is worry free. All of our requests we accommodated without hesitation. Restaurant selection was good and menus had variety. The beach is a bit rocky but there is one area nice and sandy. Jerk chicken wings at the sport bar are fantastic.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Relaxing retreat!

Resort and Staff were wonderful, only thing I could criticize was that they did not seem used to a large group. All our reservations were made the last thing we want to do is wait in line to fill out papers

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful experience, kind and caring staff.

Everything was absolutely fabulous!!! I'd go again tomorrow. I loved every part and have no complaints, except for the afternoon downpours. That is something nobody can control. Lol The staff in every prat of the resort were so accommodating.

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Amazing resort!

Great resort! Beautiful grounds, including a huge trampoline right in the ocean and beautiful beaches, good food with ACTUAL Jamaican food and the staff is amazing! Always energetic and very friendly.

Jewel Paradise Cove: Not really a 4 star

This is a tough resort to review - the beach isn't nice at all but I knew that before I went-pools are great-have no complaints about room, staff, resort is very clean, food is just average, but never a shortage-I would recommend this resort to someone as long as they know it was NOT a 4.5 star, maybe 3.5-it most definetely is a good value for your money - I liked it but there was nothing about it that WOWED me

Grand Decameron Montego Beach: Extremely fun, enthusiastic staff and great food.

I had become disenchanted with all inclusive resorts but the Royal Decameron changed everything. There was a good mix of locals and tourists which made the dynamic more engaging and authentic. Staff was young, energetic but not too in your face. The resort was well taken care of and food far exceeded my expectations.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Resort

Another fantastic trip to the Grand Bahia Principe in Runaway Bay, Jamaica! This was our 3rd trip here and met up with a group of friends from previous years. As this was our 3rd year we were given Golden Club status. Private check-in was a breeze and we got our favorite room with a 200 degree view of the ocean, beach. This is a large resort but if you have a room in the 16,17,18 blocks you are close to the beach, main pool, lobby, Garden Grill resto, Dolce Vito resto and the main buffet. Rooms  [... read more]are fairly large with king size beds, and modest furnishings. Lots of variety of food in the buffet and different themes through the week. Depending on your time flexibility, reservations at the A la Carte can be fairly easy. We ate at Mikado, Picasso, Don Pablo, Garden Grill. All were excellent! The entertainment staff at the main pool are top notch and a lot of fun! Pool bar can be slow at times. Beach is average. Great value for the money.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Family resort

This would be a great resort for famlies with young children, to remote for adults wanting to explore the island. We were told unsafe to leave resort and taxi's from the resort charged way to much even more than Vancouver.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Amazing Vacation

I would recommend this hotel. It was good. The staff was friendly and the food was good. There was some confusion when we arrived regarding rooms but I think that might have been more our travel agent than the hotel.

Grand Palladium Jamaica: Beautiful wedding, smooth ceremony!

The wedding was beautiful and a dream come true! The wedding coordinator did a great job following the instructions for the decorations, also she was standing by just in case... the photographer was amazing! When we arrived, everything was ready and it felt intimate even if people were close by. The reception at the Blue Lagoon was very well organized and the staff was very pleasant, and we all had fun when it was time to dance. All the pools have a lots of chairs available and clean. The staff is very friendly and kind and love a chat when passing by with no hidden agenda. The restaurant are pretty good too. The beaches were ok (all the bartender were very nice). The best one is Sunset cove, it is the farthest away, and is where the catamarans, paddle boats, kayaks are. It is nice area to relax in with a lovely outlook. The jerk pork & chicken was delicious.The set up is pretty good and the beach is very well kept! You can wait for the buggy to take you there, and the wait is between 5 to 15 minutes. Depending on where is your village, you have to do a lot of walking!

Catalonia Montego Bay: Return customer!

This is my second visit to HI. There was construction going on in the main building but we were never affected. The service was amazing and bar staff made sure your ice never melted. The resort does not have a nightlife so for 2 young females some of our nights were quiet. I would encourage booking excursions for the beginning of the week and party thurs-sat. Rooms were always tidy and neat. I even dropped a necklace and the room keeper left me a note and said she found it on the floor. Front de [... read more]sk was always helpful. Booking excursions, dinner and massage were simple and fast. Beach was always kept clean and we never went without a chair. Lifeguards would even fetch a chair if there wasn't one close. Food was amazing, definitely try the Japonese. It is worth it to leave the resort because you are so close to everything.

Riu Ocho Rios: nice resort

nice resort paid for the adults only and yet the adults only pool closes at 6 pm.. REALLY? besides that it was a nice resort, rooms were clean, food was what we expected, most servers where good. thanks

Couples Negril: Topnotch service by all staff; high quality resort

Without exception, staff are efficient, friendly and service-oriented. The resort is small, making a more intimate feeling than other resorts. We love our beach vacations and we found everything great here. Only little shortcoming was the lack of dance music after dinner, was mostly sing along style.
