Melia Cayo Coco: Everything We Wanted

Our trip to Melia Cayo Coco was amazing. It was everything we could have asked for. We were prepared by our trip advisor that it was a top rated hotel but a little antiquated. She was right on the money. The size of the resort was perfect. We could get to any spot on the resort within 5 minutes. The beach was amazing and very clean. The dining experience was fantastic. We really liked 2 out of our 3 a la cartes. The Italian restaurant by far had the best food. Service was superb. The International restaurant looking over the lagoon was excellent. The food and presentation was very good. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The Cuban restaurant was overall very good. Didn't enjoy the birds around my food. They did have great desserts. The buffet never disappointed us. The variety of food choices was excellent and the waiting staff were very attentive and the room was quite clean. Entertainment in the evening was wonderful. My favorite night was "Chillin Out". Wild costumes and interpretive dance. The dancing was very professionally choreographed and contained a lot of energy. The pool looked very inviting and there were plenty of activities. The grounds were kept very clean but it could use some newer plants and a little more color and variety in the flowers. Overall our experience was fantastic. I would definitely go back again and would recommend this to my family and friends.

Hotel Camino del Mar: great place to relax

this resort has a great selection of food at the buffet,changed everyday . the al acartes are fine but nothing special .the pool is fantastic and cleaned every other day . animation staff work very hard and get you involved. bars are good some nice top shelf booze included. beach is white and soft sand and the sea is awesome to swim in . don't be afraid to try this place out at least once.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: FEB 24/17 SUN & FUN!

I came for the great atmosphere, beautiful beaches, hot sun and daiquiris - this resort has all of this with great hospitality. I was with a group of ten friends and family. The weather was beautiful and hot. We enjoyed watching the kite surfers from the beach. Cappuccino at Sunrise in the hut over the water. Our room was quaint, spacious and clean - cottage style - located behind the pool area which was nice and close to all the amenities. I am vegetarian and thought the buffet was great. Omel [... read more]et bar, french toast, beans, lentils, salads, pasta, pizza, meat and seafood. Most delicious bread and cheese. Cold beer and (strong!) drinks all day. There were lots of people, and yet we always had enough chairs poolside and at the beach. Lots of Canadians. A nightly show with quality dancers. Wonderful staff. Gardener friendly and worked hard to keep the grounds looking lovely. I played volleyball in the pool, went for a horseback ride, read a book in a tropical breeze. Watched a soccer game on the beach with staff and guests. So much fun! Don't sweat the small stuff. Sometimes things need fixing. The water pressure might be low, or whatever. You will be looked after in time, so get a drink, sit poolside and relax! Show your appreciation with a tip now and again. Be a good guest and bring the party with you!!

Hotel Mojito: Amazing Relaxing Resort/Time

Had a great time, staff beyond helpful. I was put in a 2nd floor room some distance from lobby, spoke to front desk the next morning and was accommodated to a closer room on the main floor looking toward the pool, what service!!! Food was great, beach a bit of a walk, but as I'm more of a pool person, this wasn't an issue. Market within walking distance, not as large as Varadero, but found the items I was looking for. Melia Costa Rey: Pullman cayo coco

P restine - U ltimate fun - L eisure - L avishing - M edley - A ttractions - N oble Prestine - The Hotel, Grounds, and landscaping are all remarkable. Still all very new and lovely. In a few years this place will be Beautiful as the bushes, tress, plants etc all blossom and develop. This hotel is very clean kudos to the cleaning staff keep up the great work. But the pool with the pool bar should be heated maybe a future install for the winter months, you may get more involvement with pool activities. Our room 42106 was very adequate clean, tidy, and neat. We had a KING SIZE BED comfortable enough for vacation. Very modern set-up and clean. The bathroom window or shutter wouldn't close. Which brought some much need entertainment for me and the wife one day as we tried to close it. Our TV could have been bigger but we didn't really watch it as we didn't stay in the room that much. The construction next door as they are building another unit was fair and the noise was kept down to a minimal. only woke us up one day out of 7. I'm glad they continue to evolve this place. We are not light sleepers so didn't impact us. The Gourmet Restaurant a - la - cart at the adults only section was great. Thank you to the Hotel and staff for making my wife's Birthday extra special. The Champagne bottle was a nice touch and a good start to our night. Ultimate fun - From the first day we arrive we have a great time. The entertainment staff are excellent. Our personal favorites were Jimmy, Renee. The activities all day long by the pool were very fun. We even managed to WIN a certificate as a lazy game winner. The pool table and tournament at 3pm was very enjoyable. That has nothing to do with winning a bottle of rum. The foam party was so fun MY wife and I have never experienced anything like it. An extra special thank you to Jimmy for dancing and singing Happy Birthday to my wife Monday night at the show. We had a great time. The night club is very nice but never used. We recommend that the Hotel Theme to the people who are attending at that time. I.e 50's 60's 70's night etc. We noticed an older crowd so if you cater to them as another place for dancing I believe the guests would use it more. Maybe change up theme night to night. Friday - Rock Saturday- Oldies Sunday-Soul train etc. Leisure - this place is great for relaxing no hassling, time share, or pan handlers on the beach trying to sell you something. Relaxing is what we did and you'll get to do, either by the pool or the beach. So many chairs to go around you didn't have to wake up early to reserve. A very nice added touch on the beach was that they had a guy who will get your chair if needed. As they stack them nightly to preserve and keep the beach clean and uncluttered. The beach is just incredible clean and great for walking which we did every day. We walked all the way down to the rocks and deserted hotel only to find another beach strip to the left. It was very enchanting and nice for pictures. Depending on water level very nice for pictures, seeing fish, and staying in warm water. Very quiet and Majestic for walking. Loving - Can't say enough about the people. They are great! Amazing, friendly, and loving. From the people we met to all of the staff they took care of us as if we were family. The bartenders just awesome! The weight staff at the buffet. The chefs making our Pasta and meat so friendly and genuine. We didn't have a problem with even one person. Some people take it for granted but for a bunch of people who travel at least an hour to and from work by bus they are all very kind, respectful, happy go lucky. If you happen to run into a bad person or had a bad experience I say give them a MULLIGAN it's got to be tough on them. It's not like you never have a bad day! Medley - The buffet had variety! The food for Cuba is above average. Italian lovers they threated us with some good pasta all week. YES! They have PARMESAN CHEESE. The prosciutto was a surprise treat we found. The Cappicola, Mortadella, salamis and fresh bread every day was excellent. The porchetta and meat was very good prepared the way you like. I kept it simple salt, pepper, and garlic oil. Lots of salads artichoke, mixed vegetables, beets etc. They did have salads available you had to make it yourself. Yes they had olive oil, balsamic or red wine vinegar available. The only negative would be your CLASSIC SALADS are missing the Caesar or Garden. I recommend that Pullman put in a nice A la carte ITALIAN restaurant. It could replace the CREOLE! I'm not a fan. The Japanese restaurant was neat and fun! You have to try it. You won't be disappointed or starve. ATTRACTIONS - We went on two tours. One was the Cuban tour. We went to the city of Moron. Our guide and bus driver Alex were just awesome. I'll tell you one thing for sure. I wouldn't want to drive on the coors way or roads in Cuba. Minimal lighting, guard rails etc. u may be swimming in the ocean if you had a bad accident. Back to the tour. If you enjoy a horse and carriage ride, pina colada,with natural ingredients, speed boat ride, and last but not least people watching and seeing how the locals live. you will enjoy this tour. The Sunset Cruise or boat ride. Was not for us. The Cuban sunset was beautiful and we met some really nice people. but other than that not much to see. Its your typical swamp scenery but on a lake! Let's not mention the flat boat and almost being decapitated by the bridge depending on water levels. The tour guides were fun and exciting they tried really hard to make something out of nothing. It was calm and relaxing boat ride if your fan of that. Noble - The Pullman resort is a must stay (5 star rating guaranteed). They must maintain and try to keep improving the base principle, values, and hospitality they have set -up. We will definitely return to Cuba! I had a bad experience in Santiago Cuba but this place has changed my mind about Cuba. Last but not least. I have to send a shout out to The AQUA pool bar and most importantly OMELIO and the other bartenders. My favourite location that was serving me cerveza's. shots, and Havana club 7 year dark Cuban rum in all my drinks. He is definitely a brother to me. made me feel great and took care of me all week. He made our stay much enjoyable! I can't forget JOSE our CHURRIO guy. Man we love those CHURRIO'S!

Tryp Cayo Coco: great resort

Tryp hotel was amazing , beach was great, dining was good, room was great ,the whole resort was very clean and well maintained. The staff were a little slow getting your drinks but all in all we would totally recommend this resort

Hotel Mojito: Excelent resort

The resort was extremely clean the room were spacious and clean the grounds were impeccable . The staff was very effective in help you in any way. The only thing was that the beach was quite a walk and no bathroom down at the beach you had to walk all the way back to the resort. also there were not enough chairs and huts to shade you from the sun. I would definitely go back again. on a scale from 1 to 10 and 10 been the best I would rate this a 8 .

Melia Jardines del Rey: A vacation is what you makeit!

Well the resort is very large lots of options for food and entertainment fun evening life. The beach was amazing could walk forever white sand lots of fish and shells a beachcombers delight. Service was a little lacking big resort seemed like they were to busy to get friendly. Had a hard time getting beach towels bring your own. It is remote so if you like exploring its not the place. There is no shopping on the resort to speak of didn't spend any coin really. Here is my biggest complaint the pools were gross green algae all along the sides of all the pools YUCK! Memories Caribe Beach Resort: 1st time to cuba

Caribe cayo coco is a beautiful area! the beach, grounds, pools and rooms are kept very clean. The staff are very friendly. Being my first time to Cuba I was very nervous about safety. This resort is very safe and you can easily leave the things that you take to the beach and pool on your chair and nothing gets taken. If you have trouble finding a beach chair there is always someone there to help get you one. There was some issues with public bathrooms not being stocked with toilet paper or n [... read more]ot all public washrooms working. My advise is to pack tp and Kleenex and carry some with you at all times.

Hotel Vigia: Loved It !!

Myself and my boyfriend visited this resort February 2017 and had a great time. If you are ok with older rooms (not as modern looking) then you will be very pleased with the rest. The food was good, plenty of options and made to order options so you do not feel like you are only having buffet for a week. This resort recently opened a new restaurant that has a sit down menu and does not require a reservation which was another great option. The pool was big and always clean. The staff working here were always very friendly and helpful, it was unexpected to walk through the resort and be remember by certain staff. One of the gardeners had a beautiful flower for me every morning when I walked by him. In general I would recommend this resort, it is by no means overly fancy but it is at a beautiful location and was a comfortable stay.

Very large resort , line ups for food where sometimes very long . The Al-a-carts where very good . Great beach Be prepared for the mosquitoes at night . They come out in droves . The resort only sprayed the site once .Most of them ended up in the first and second floors of the units . Management did not respond to our requests for our room to be sprayed .Had to sleep most nights with a sheet over your head .would wake up in morning with bits all over your body . Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing Beach!

The grounds are lush and beautiful, the Oriental and International restaurants are excellent, can't comment on the others as we did not go to them, however friends of ours bragged about how good the BBQ restaurant was. The buffet was what you would expect at any Cuban resort, always find something to eat. The drinks are plenty strong enough. Bartenders were all friendly. They were comfortable beds. Water was hot, but sometimes a slow trickle. Time your showers, as most use showers at suppertime. Take fly dope and make sure you use it, take after-bite or polysporin. The night shows were really good. The pool was nice. Overall a very good experience.

Hotel was poor I guess our expectations were to high food was tasteless and nothing restaurant washrooms were filthy seemed like they haven't been cleaned in weeks telephone in our room didn't work asked for 2016 more pillows never received I got them from the maid finally our friends room didn't have a toilet seat staff friendly wife had to go to medical clinic got dignitary very disappointing

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: A great experience

Had a great time. Staff was wonderful, location was beautiful. I enjoyed the food. Beach is lovely, pool was clean. The only issue I had was tissue. For a couple of days there was not toilet paper in some of the washrooms. So bring a roll. We did not have a renovated room but everything worked well and was located so closed to everything. Also a very short bus ride to the airport A good bang for your buck.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Vacation

First the great - beach was awesome, staff friendly and always willing to accomodate. Shout out to Joel at the martini bar, Yurita our maid, the evening grill guy who made me stir frys and the pizza guy in the snack bar who was constantly busy. The resort was very clean as was our room, drinks were very good and the rum and beer flowed freely. We did find the resort crowded, they were at capacity and sadly this showed. Trying to get a lounge chair at the pool was near impossible after 8am  [... read more]and I'm sorry but I was on vacation and refused to get up at 6am as some guests were doing to secure a lounger. As well if you didnt get to the buffet early there were line ups for a table. Linens were in short supply and we had one facecloth on the first day then it was never replenished. We did ask for extra pillows and were able to have these brought to our room by the lovely Yurita. The food was about what we expected for Cuba - we did not go hungry but it was difficult to find food that was more than luke warm at the buffet - hence the stir fry. In terms of value for your dollar - this was not an expensive place to go in comparison to Jamaica or other islands and while we had a great time (due to positive attitude and the people we made friends with there) I think I'll spend a little more next time and go to a country where they dont struggle so much with accessing supplies. The weather was great when we were there and thats what we went for. If you want gourmet food and luxury bedding and towels dont go to Cuba!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Expectations Exceeded!

This was our first trip to Cuba and we were skeptical after hearing all sorts of horror stories. However, we were blown away! The beach was phenomenal. The water was clear, warm, and we could walk for hours between sand bars at low tide. We even did some snorkeling! Check in and check out was fast, simple, and hassle-free. We had a late flight and were able to use the courtesy suite to clean up prior to flying. The room was in good order, whereas a previous resort experience was filthy. Nice c [... read more]hange! The snack bar was 24-hour, so whether we wanted a cappuccino, mojito, or cheese burger, it was available. Great option for those from different time zones or with very early/late flights. The food may not have been Michelin 5-star, however we never had any issues finding good tasting, fresh food. The desserts were beyond amazing. The creativity, the pastries, the flavor! I'm still craving the pizza from the beach snack bar. The serving staff never let a dirty dish sit on the table and refilled drink glasses almost before you realized they were empty. The decor of the rooms was dated, however they were cleaned every day and a fresh bottle of water provided. Our mini-bar was not stocked, however we did not pay for a mini-bar package, so we didn't expect anything to be there! The efforts of the landscaping crew was quite something. Not only were room blocks being renovated, but the gardens were being refreshed and new plants put in as well. Even while working, the staff would make a point of greeting any guests that walked by. I would happily recommend this resort to others going to Cuba :) Say hi to Roberto the flamingo when you arrive!

Melia Jardines del Rey: our stay at the melia jardin del rey

This is not a 4 star hotel! The first room we were given was coated in mosquitoes and dead mosquito guts. The room and area stank of sewage and even parts of the beach reeked of septic system. The shower didn't work properly and we constantly had to beg for towels. Beach towels were a rare commodity so once you got one you had to hang onto it as there were no clean ones to exchange it. It was understaffed and in horrible condition for a two year old building. I am covered in mosquito bites! Have [... read more] never experienced that many insects in a resort. I will never go back again and will dissuade others from choosing this destination.

Hotel Camino del Mar: Our Place in the Sun

We have been at this resort numerous times and can foresee many more visits. It is an older resort, showing signs of wear and tear, but they are working on the extensive renovations. The staff are wonderful and very friendly. The beach is huge and very clean, with lots of room. Snorkeling right off the shore is a huge bonus for us. The food was very good.The nightly entertainment was also very good.
