Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Plenty of shade!

This resort is absolutely the best resort we have ever been to for the availibility of shade. There are plenty of loungers to be found in the shade at the pool and also at the beach. There are also spots between the beach and pool offering plenty of shade for anyone who needs to limit the amount of sun they get. Also plenty of sun spots for the people who love the sun. The food was a little repetitive off the main buffet but was edible none the less with nobody going hungry and if you did it was your own fault. The grounds are well kept with plenty of trees and walkways and all the time you are on the grounds you get a beautiful view of either the mountain or the beach....what more could you ask for! We spent a majority of our time lazing in the shade on the beach enjoying the cold drinks and cool breezes off the water. The beach is nice and sandy with only a bit of seaweed washing up that is quickly picked up. Just a small sidenote.... one of our fav drinks to enjoy is the long island ice tea. Anyone who likes them knows that there is a wide variety of how they are made however we have finally found the right bartender to make them at this resort. Elvis will make you the perfect ice tea that tastes delightful and you will never know it has booze in it hardly. Be careful though as they are packed with booze lol This is a good resort at a good price with lots to enjoy. Many people come on here and complain about resorts not matching the flashy 5 star resorts they have been in other locations but then also paid 3 times the price for them so lets be fair. We have been in the travelling game for awhile now and this resort is on our list of resorts e would return to.

Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana: Terrible Resort

We did not stay at the Dreams Royal, we were at Dreams Palm Beach, Punta Cana. This resort fooled us into thinking we were "Preferred Club" when actually everyone was at the same level. The resort itself as far as the grounds go was nice. But the rooms were very dated. This resort is not wheelchair friendly. To call a resort wheelchair friendly one must be in a wheelchair. Your staff needs to be more aware of this. We feel very deceived, by Trip Central. My husband chair which is a small chai [... read more]r would hardly fit the door to our room. The coffee maker did not work in our room first morning, so called room service but they do not serve coffee. I was told to go to CoCo Cafe to get our own coffee. So much for "Preferred Club". 2 of the restaurants were on the second floor. There is no access to the beach, if you are in a wheelchair. The maids did a great job cleaning the rooms, and the resort in general. We did like the food for the most part. The employees worked hard to please everyone. Had to get the door to our room fixed to get the door open as wide as it would go. Also had to have the toilet fixed twice. There are no grab bars in the shower, we had to bring a plastic table from outside for him to sit on in the shower. We had never stayed at a Dreams Resort, so we thought this was going to be so special, but we were very very disappointed. (What a big lie) I will book from now on directly with the airline, because I have been disappointed beyond what I could have imagined. We spoke to many people there that were in wheelchairs, they had all the same complaints. If there was a ramp to a restaurant or bar there was no way to get through the big heavy glass doors. This resort is only good for people that can walk on their own. We feel tricked, deceived, fooled! We travel quite a bit, so we are not new to this sort of travel. I do not blame Susan Snider for this, as she can only tell customers what the resort tells her. We'll the resort lied. Also it is common knowledge on the resort that the resort is closing and being sold as of the end of the year. We heard it was being torn down. Sorry to be so harsh, but our reality was harsh.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Was not DREAMING for Cuban style food

I will start with positive. The staff are amazing. The staff is the only thing that makes this resort good. Especially entertainment team JEAN LUIS and MR WONDERFUL. I don’t understand how this resort has good reviews for food. We have been to so many resorts and dreams royal beach punta cana is 3 star not 5. I was in disbelief when we arrived the first evening and saw/tasted how terrible the food selection was. I was really hoping it was a 1 night off thing. I was not expecting “Cuban style selection” the lack of variety and taste was disappointing. Especially at breakfast and lunch! Very repetitive every day and lacked selection. Dinner was slightly better since we got to choose from restaurants. But we ended up with undercooked chicken that unfortunately I didn’t see because the sea side restaurant had very dark lighting, which resulted in food poisoning. If you are looking for good food do not book this resort. If you are ok with “Cuban style selection” I would highly recommend coming here Lastly we did not know we were “preferred club” until the last 3 days of our stay. There is absolutely no difference for preferred club and regular guests.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: Amazing resort!

If you are looking for a quiet peaceful vacation to recharge this is the resort for you. The food and beach was amazing. The main buffet was the best! Great variety and delicious meals. I’d definitely recommend the one bedroom suite over the rooftop suite. The coffeehouse was great with so many desserts and varieties of coffee, milkshakes and teas. Ask for Pablo the butler if you book the mirage club as he was fantastic.

Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana: Not A True Adults Only Resort

Hideaway is exactly as it is titled, a small enclave in a family resort. You have 1 restaurant and small beach area that is adult only otherwise you are sharing the resort with families with children. All restaurants, shows and common areas are shared with families. If you are going on a holiday to share your space with all adults, this is not the resort for you. Adults have a small pool that is not big enough to accommodate the people in the adults only section. Redeeming quality of this resort [... read more] are the workers. They are fabulous and work very hard.

Whala Bavaro: Disappointing stay

Quite disappointing for a 4 star resort. We like smaller resorts because we enjoy getting to know the people who work there. Although I have some ability to speak Spanish, this was not possible because we did not meet any staff that could speak English. The food was not what we expected. We found the selection limited and many of the choices were stewed meats and vegetables. There was also a foul smell emanating from the toilets near the pool at the center of the resort and bar. On the [... read more] positive side, we enjoyed our room. It was comfortable and maintained quite well. The location also allowed us to get a glimpse of life in the Dominican Republic.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing Resort

This resort was amazing the pool the beach the rooms the food I can’t say enough good things about this resort the only thing is there is a lot of walking because there are another five resorts that you can go on and look and it is huge thank God for the shuttle buses so just beware there is a lot of walking which I loved

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort

First time at this resort , but won’t be my last time . Very clean resort , staff very friendly . Plenty of food ,drinks were yummy too :) I would recommend to friends and family . . Thanks for a good holiday

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Price, Great People, Great Fun!

Our experience at VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort was great! We arrived November 28th and stayed for a week. This was our first time to this resort and was very pleased. We found the rooms, resort and beach exceptionally clean, the food was good and there was always plenty. The resort is compact and easy to get around. There is a nice pool, super comfy lounge seating around the bar and a swim up bar. At the beach, there is a bar area that's covered and provided shelter from the occasion ra [... read more]in, and a restaurant at the waters edge where we found fries, wings, hamburgers, pizza, hot dogs, soup, chili and nachos and a salad bar. We booked dinners at all three A-la-cart restaurants. We had beef tenderloin, glazed ribs, mango chicken breasts, fish dishes, caesar salad, pumpkin soup, etc. All of it was very tasty. We did not opt for the VIP added expense and found everything we needed. Those that did, mentioned that the VIP lounge was nice, but you could not leave that area with your brand named alcoholic beverages. There are plenty of loungers, and those with VIP did have drinks served to them and had day beds on the beach, but other than that, it was hard to justify the added expense. If you're looking for night life and evening entertainment this is not your resort. For the price, we were exceptionally pleased with our choice.

Caribe Deluxe Princess: Good Hotel, but they do not manage the beach

Hotel is renovated, public bathrooms are very clean and well maintained. Food is reasonably good, we were satisfied. First 4 days Sargassum was unbelievable, not only in the water but on the beach also. They used Stone Age technology-workers putting grass into bags and bringing them to the point where they were taking them with pickup truck. For 4 days we could not even get to the water. They were not able to clear 1 meter passage to the water. That was scary. Hotels on either side of this one h [... read more]ad beaches much better maintained using proper equipment. The worse is the hotel was silent about that and that was scary, we did not know what to expect. After 4 days they brought truck to remove the grass and after that they succeeded to maintain the low level of the sargassum on the beach. Bedrooms could be cleaned better, balcony and bathroom floor were not wipped for days although they cleaned the room every day. Sometimes we had to wait for the end of the day to get towels in the room. Entertainment is on lower side. I do not think that we will go there again.

Riu Palace Macao: Great Resort !!

This is my 5th time at this resort and really enjoy everything about it. The only thing is the air conditioning is terrible everytime i go. I always go to the front desk and they send somebody up to try and fix it and no results. Other then tgat the pool is great , staff is on top of things and i always enjoy the food. The grounds are well kept. I know there doing renivations in the new year and will looking forward to my next visit to tge Riu Macoa.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Good resort - small beach, AMAZING STAFF

Overall, a really great resort. Be careful however, bring lots of extra cash. The guys on the beach really try to scam you, so be careful. Restaurants are decent.. But staff was truly incredible! The beach is fairly small and there was some seaweed but they were diligent with scooping it up the following day. Pools were amazing!! As i said previously, the staff truly make the experience worthwhile.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Amazing resort

This hotel is amazing it's my six time there and it's only gotten better .The food was so fresh and the choices were plentiful .The people are super friendly and if you can speak Spanish it's a big help.covid restrictions were not appicapple almost invisible .A few people on plane wore masls but not many .Almost seemed like regular days .a fantastic trip and I would highly recommend this hotel .

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Disappointed with Resort

The grounds are well landscaped and taken care of but so are many of the resorts. Room was very clean but dated and housekeeping was great. Food was disappointing. Too much by way of their local dishes. For instance bacon was never out at the buffet. If you asked for it they would personally bring you some from the kitchen. They could have had more wait staff on hand as service was slow in getting a coffee, drinks etc. Disastrous experience at al carte restaurant (Gohan). Waited for over [... read more] an hour to just get 1 course of a 5 course meal. Ended up leaving and found out later guests did the same and not only at this restaurant but other al cartels as well. It would have been good if they had activities on the go, ie beach volleyball, bingo etc. but nothing.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: We enjoyed the resort!

The weather was terrific, room location 90017 was super. We tried 7 different restaurants – all were good – service varied from one to another but lots to eat in most cases. The buffet for lunch and breakfast were smaller than some we have seen but still had bacon and eggs everyday. They really keep the place neat and tidy including our room. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Really nice small resort!

We just returned from a week at the Gran Ventana. This was our 3rd time there and there were no surprises. Those 1-star reviews that are posted are ridiculous. These people must have stayed at another resort. Very friendly staff and check-in was quick. A la cartes were very nice. The food at the buffet was not exceptional but it was very good. Lots of variety. It was very busy but you could find a lounger at the beach any time of the day. There were special events for the return guests and there [... read more] were a lot of return guests. That speaks for itself. Everything is very close by. VERY clean everywhere. We had some very small issues with the room and they were fixed in minutes. There is a small shopping mall, a 5-minute walk from the resort. Free WIFI in the room and in the lobby. This resort is a good value for your money. Would definitely come back again.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: 50th Birthday Trip

Group of 20. hotel was over booked, 2 couples sent to the « old section »(one room no hot water and the other the roof was leaking). 1 night became 2 nights as I had to go fight to have them relocated to the correct rooms. Overall resort is very clean and quiet. Easy Access to the other resort amenities. Do NOT deal with Nicole Deforest at TripCentra doesn’t respond promptly (unless 3-5 days is acceptable). Bad Bad service.

Ocean El Faro: 9 day stay in Punta Cana

Hotel located 1 hour away from the Punta Cana Airport. Grounds are well maintained with lush greenery. Hotel lobby is the most impressive space on the resort. While rooms are nicely decorated, on closer inspection they are a bit tired (chipped tiles, missing grout, caulking in sink worn off) considering how old the resort is. Daily housekeeping was not thorough as I’ve seen at other resorts (e.g. floors not swept well). Food at the Privilege lounge was best, found the buffet lacked variety and [... read more] a la carte restaurants were mediocre (slow service, food not much better than the buffet). Privilege area beach service was great though the area is not in a prime stretch of beach on the property and seaweed is not raked/hauled away from it as is it on the remainder of the property. Overall we visited for sun and sand and had a pleasant time, would consider the stay to be a value pick. 3.5 stars

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: You Get What You Pay For

The resort is not running at what it once did, only 1 a-la-cart (they used to have 3). The buffet had limited selection. The rooms are not updated, and our plumbing was an issue, the patio doors don’t close in the room either. Night life is okay, the entertainment staff really work hard and did a great job. This resort was at one time very beautiful, just a little rundown now. Security was always present, which was nice.

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana All Suite Resort: It Doesn’t Get any Better

This was our first time at Majestic Mirage but definitely not our last. We are already planning our next visit. From arrival to the departure it was nothing but extraordinary. Samuel our butler was fantastic. With lots of surprises. Allen in the lobby bar made drinks like no one else at the resort. Our swim out room was spectacular. The dining was perfect. Not one thing to complain about. Can’t wait to return.
