Grand Marival Emotions Resort and Suites: Marival Resort

Been to this resort many times & have enjoyed every vacation. Staff have treated us very well. There was confusion with our room requested. Husband has mobility issues & they had us booked in a room with no elevators. We did get a room ground level which worked out well. One of the staff at the Martini Bar was awesome with our big group a smile on her face & worked hard to keep up- her name was Dalia.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Wonderful Mexican style resort

This was the first time here and we were very impressed.The grounds were immaculate and the staff very friendly.The food was good and they had an amazing salad bar every lunch..and fresh and raw veg at suppers.There was always a theme night with different choices of meat entrées.The fish was great.The shows were very professional. The rooms are dated and could use some upgrades but clean and air conditioned..Pools well maintained and beach area is beautiful and close.Resort was full so could o [... read more]f used more chairs and palapas...an overall great experience for a 3-4 star resort. El Dorado Seaside Palms: Amazing Resort

Nothing bad to say. Food and drinks top notch. Main buffet has lots of selection and different theme nights. Loved the beach bbq themed nights. Had a beachfront room and loved it. Resort beautifully kept. The staff were all amazing. Will definitely return to the Eldorado Palms.

Canto Del Sol: Not amazing but what we needed

The food (especially buffet) was not great, but italian restaurant was good (depsite missing menu items). Staff were very friendly and helpful. The price of this resort allowed us to explore what else Puerto Vallarta had to offer.

Catalonia Riviera Maya: Some Issues

The grounds are beautiful, the staff is great and we never had a bad meal. We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and loved it so much we came back, but I don't think we will be returning. We paid for a premimum room like we had 5 years ago which gave us beer in our room as well as soda and water, this time only water. Trying to get dinner reservations, I had to set the alarm and get up at 4 am to book and even then we only got 2 ala cartes. You should not have to get up at 4 am to book dinn [... read more]er, and you could only book 24 hrs in advance. You should be able to come in on your first day and pick the days (if available) for the week. When we did go to both the steak house and the Italian half the resturaunt was empty so not sure what the issue was. I would recommend this hotel but i would say to pay for a standard room and not the extra for a premimum as you don't get anything extra

Grand Palladium Kantenah: It used to be an amazing resort...not this time

I have recently returned from Grand Palladium Kantenah resort, in Riviera Maya. This was my 6th time at this specific resort and my 8th time at Palladium/TRS. I had great memories of this resort from previous experiences and that's the reason I have returned. This time, unfortunately, my expectations were not fully met, I was a bit disappointed with my vacation. 1. Because I was a frequent return customer I got a VIP bracelet. Unfortunately the bracelet meant nothing, it came with NO addition [... read more]al perks. I got the same treatment and same access to facilities like a guest who was there for the first time. Pre-covid, I was there on the 5th visit and the VIP bracelet I got allowed me access to all restaurants and all bars. Not this time :-( 2. Overall the quality of the service, in my opinion, has gone down from my previous visits. The food at the buffet was not as varied as before, was quite repetitive and more limited in choices. In the past they had themed nights at the buffet which provided great choices for dinner. Not this time. The a-la carte restaurants did not hit the bar either. Food was served cold, or wait time for the food to be served was long. 3. Covid protocol was non existent. Pre-covid, when entering any restaurant you were asked to hand sanitize, the host had the sanitizer available and everybody had to sanitize - again this was pre-covid. Now, the hand sanitizer was just sitting in a corner and nobody was asked to use it. 4. I have asked for a room that was not on the ground floor. I don't think this was a huge request. I did get one and it was facing the highway and it was very noisy. I've asked to be moved because I could not sleep, they moved me after I insisted and waited several hours. I got a room on the ground floor. Well, at least it was quiet. So, overall, my vacation was not as pleasant as I was expecting it to be. There are many choices for resorts and next time I will likely chose a different resort. VIP bracelet was useless so I have no incentive to go back.

Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Relaxing in Paradise

Just returned from a 7 day holiday at the Blue Diamond Hotel. Mexico had a travel warning, so I was slightly nervous to travel there with my pregnant fiancée. We ended up booking with SunWing. I am an experienced traveller and must say the entire process was extremely well organized and I felt that everyone involved took extra care to make us feel safe and have a wonderful time. The resort is nestled in natural nature instantly making you feel relaxed and happy. The food was excellent and you could order as much as you like. The staff is warm and welcoming. Make sure to plan on giving tips as it is the norm. The beach is quiet and relaxing and there is no need to reserve a chair at 5am. There are plenty and the beach waiter makes sure you don’t go hungry or thirsty. If you want to have a quiet relaxing holiday this resort is perfect. You never feel that there are a ton of guests and you are overwhelmed with noise and people partying. The rooms are cleaned meticulously and the beds are comfortable with quality sheets and pillows. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Excellent Family Resort

My family attended the ORP in late January and stayed in an Eden Junior suite room. My son and daughter aged 9 and 7 respectively, had a great time at this resort. Room: Eden Juinior Suite - Garden View. The garden view was a nice quiet break from the busy days. The room was well appointed and decorated with comfy beds. No problems with humidity, just keep the patio door closed. Lots of room to hang clothes and put in drawers. Nice double sinks in bathroom and separate shower and toilet stalls [... read more]. Jacuzzi tub takes about 30min to fill. Negative - patio lights turn off around 1030-1100pm and then the WiFi. Can remedied by dragging a lamp out to read a book if needed. Very few mosquitoes at night. The resort has 900+ rooms but never felt too busy or crowded and usually never waited long if at all for a restaurant or lounger. I think the key to not waiting for a restaurant and better service was to show up for the initial opening time. It seems like after that they became more disorganized. Enjoyed the odd shuttle bus to bring us up and down the resort. As a family it wasn't worth it to buy the 'priviledge' perks for higher end booze and restaurant bookings. Our favourite restaurants were the Mexican and Italian. Route 66 was a disappointment with bad service and the steak at the Steak House was some sort of mystery meat in my opinion. Didn't really taste like beef and quite fatty. Might be too spoiled with high grade beef in Canada. The buffet was a great staple restaurant and had a small nightly flair such as Italian or British, etc. but mostly the same things day after day, but a good variety and didn't get sick of anything or sick at all for that matter. The beach unfortunately had some rocks amongst the beach sand that you bumped into when you went into the ocean and were hard to see due to the turbidity in the water as every day was a red flag day and had waves. We managed but it was not ideal and most likely just part of seasonal winds. We brought our own snorkels but never attempted due to this. Walking the beach was easy and you can go pretty far especially to the North. Only had an issue finding a sun lounger one day and just dragged two chairs from the nearest pool without issue. There were several pools and spent most our our time at the pool with the waterslides and the Eden pool. The resort kids activity crew did an excellent job and not too pushy to get kids involved and kind. Prises were often unique snacks and t-shirts. My kids attended the older kids club which had a few gaming systems, a pop machine, board games and Foosball. Very chill and laid back. The younger kids club was more of a daycare with group trips to the ice cream shop etc. The resort has a little strip mall section with stores, a casino, and the ice cream shop and Café. We enjoyed the ice cream shop and Café daily. The entertainment at the theater was quite well done and entertaining except for the poor transitions between acts with the lighting a sound crews, at little amature on their part. The performers themselves were great. The kids really enjoyed the magic show. The entertainment in the plaza pre and post theater shows was kind of lame. Probably the best talent was karaoke night from fellow travelers, lol. The face painting was fun for kids, but show up early if interested, as they give out tickets and only paint about 20-25 kids faces then leave. After checking in to the resort is the classic membership speal over complimentary drinks in the lobby bar and offer for a tour after a breakfast booking. I suggest you just smile and decline their offer and begin your vacation then get wrapped into a salespitch. They understand and never hasseled us again. End thoughts: Had a great time as a family, ate a variety of foods, and enjoyes the beautiful resort especially interacting with the monkeys and coati. We had a good time off resort on an excursion to Tulum ruins and swimming in cenotes and a visit to Playa Del Carmen via cab. Felt comfortable and well taken of.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Amazing RIU Republica Punta Cana

We were party of 4 adults, had an amazing time at RIU Republica. Lots fun for adults with different age groups. The only problem that we had was with SunWing checkin crew at Punta Cana airport. We already checked in online, had to wait in a line up for 2.5 hours just to print the baggage labels and check them in. There were few parties with small children and toddlers that had to wait in check-in line up. Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: A nice little getaway

All in all a good place to go We did get suckered into listening to a sales pitch about the VIP club. It was not for us as we do not travel all that much. We did get a $100 credit for the resort and used it for souvenirs Staff was great Drinks were good, food was good. USE THE APP TO BOOK DINNERS AT THE RESTURANTS! After trying to book with the front desk we found an app that worked great, would wake up and choose a place to eat and book for the next day. Riu Dunamar: Excellent will return

Our second time to this hotel first time in February of 2020 and happy to be able to travel again ! Went from Feb 12 to 18th and had a great time . Travelled with our 5 yo and he enjoyed the beech pool and crafts at kids club! Food was great ! Service excellent ! Freddie the bar tender is very attentive and polite ! Will return for sure !

Riu Emerald Bay: Nice stay

This was our 2nd time at the resort. We had two weeks and found it a bit disappointing. The resort is clean and the rooms were nice. Comfy beds. We had to call each day for coffee for the coffee machine, Also. the fridge was not restocked every second day as suggested.We did get water bottles from the lobby to take up.We did leave a tip for the room and although the bed was made the toiletries were not replenished. Or the fridge restocked. The food at buffet was good, fresh but always the same.  [... read more]The a la carte is just a smaller buffet. And the reservation system does not work. We just walked up each night and got a table for 4. The pools and beach are nice. Clean and loungers are not a problem anytime of day. The vendors are good but the dualing mariachi bands are annoying and play from 3-7 or 8 . Very annoying and the hotel does nothing about it. It’s so loud and annoying!!!! We will not be back. If you go do not do the city tour. Take a cab. Better to do it yourself and save your money. The servers we got to know were great! But we tipped well. Makes a huge difference. Check out Lionso’s down the beach. Great food, music snd happy hour! Prices are amazing and portions are big!

El Cozumeleno Beach: Low key, pleasant and relaxing vacation

The hotel is older, somewhat dated but not without charm. Very clean, staff is amazing, food was fair so no complaints. Bed a bit too hard for my liking but yet I slept well after a day outside in the sun, water. I do wish newer and more comfortable chairs on room balcony and perhaps wifi throughout whole resort. The resort is as pictured, no surprises. The beach and clear water was the best and where I spent most days. Barcelo Maya Colonial: Trip to Mexico

It was a great trip no problems weather was hot, no problems at the airport or the hotel, staff were helpful food was good, great beach and pools took some day trips never any problems always felt safe

Riu Emerald Bay: Not as good as last time

Mariachi band on beach everyday fro 230 to 700 very annoying. Ruined whole trip. Could not sit on beach or on balcony or even have windows open while they were playing everyday!!! Food very repetitive and there were not 3 a la carte restaurants. Only one and it was terrible. Every restaurant seemed to serve same thing. Nice setting and room but could use a bit of work. Phone and drink dispenser and coffee maker did not work. Water not restocked had to ask for it everytime we needed it. Night clu [... read more]b not open as far as we could see. Drinks not the same as last time. No fresh fruit in them just syrup.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Would not recommend

Unfortunately our stay was not good. On the second day I hurt my back and could not walk, my husband was told he could not bring me any food that we had to order room service ( they did waive the fee); when I called I was told she had to call the kitchen and she would call me back. After 3 1/2 hours I had not heard back. I called and asked about a wheel chair and was informed it was $125/day. When I explained I only needed it to go get food they allowed us to get one. The room was not properly  [... read more]cleaned; the sheets were changed once (the day before we left, we were there for 14 days) The food was sub standard; the hotel cleanliness was sub standard; in the morning after the pool was supposedly cleaned we pulled out a large cock roach, the scum around the edge of the pool was very gross, it really needed to be scrubbed. The service was horrible, but I must say the 2 hostesses and only 1 waiter were amazing. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Not impressed

When we arrived they said they did not have our reservation. So we gave them our paperwork, which they did not return that had our flight tickets attached. It took an hour or more for them to assign us a room, and then the reservation said 4 days which should have been 8 days. We had to be out of our room by noon on check out day even though the bus did not pick up until 2 pm. Staff that did speak English were pretty good but they’re were not many.

Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos: Santos Finisterra

Spent last week at this resort. No complaints! The food was excellent and I must say for an all inclusive it was nice to be served dinner. The only complaint I have is the quality of the house wine. The check in and check out was extremely easy and even though we we stayed another week elsewhere there was no rush for them to send us off and we could use all the facilities until we called a cab for pick up. The mornings were cool but it was nice to walk around the marina during this time

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Nice to be back!

After a 3 year hiatus, we returned to the Royal Decameron Complex for a much needed vacation. The resort was much the same as when we last stayed. The grounds are well maintained, it is very clean and the staff are friendly. The rooms could use an upgrade, particularly the beds that are very hard. The water pressure and temperature was good, we stayed in block 6 and enjoyed hot showers every day. The food is decent, buffet style so lots of choices. Though not a 5 star resort, the Royal Decameron [... read more] Complex is a lovely vacation spot on the beach and close to all the amenities in Bucerias.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Not up to par

The hotel needs repairs staff is helpful but the guests smoking anywhere they wanted with no reguards to others and staff not enforcing them to smoke in the designated areas sends a message that the hotel is only after the dollar with all disreguard to other guest health, we will not be back, even after telling the hotel staff of the issues, nothing was done
