Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: As good as it gets, overall five stars

This review is critical for all visitors visiting this hotel. before I visited the hotel. I read the reviews and I was prepared in case there was some food disruptions. At first we had lots of fish, chicken, pork, cold cuts, rice, But near the end of our stay. We noticed they were low on chicken and some cold cuts. So bringing my own Ryebread and brown bread, and a small jar of peanut butter I was safe and never having any problems eating . Hotel Playa Paraiso: Beach was amazing

We chose this hotel for the beach which was amazing. The room was nice and clean, staff were great. Main complaint was the food and having to eat the same thing for every meal. The pool was always clean and lots of loungers.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Beaches and hotel and staff great

The buildings are brand new. Everything works. The food in April week though is hit and miss. Snack bar does not have much food. Buffet has good and weird food. Excellent fish but scarce on some food. Seems food delivery is not constant. Friendly staff. Beaches are amazing with lots of sun shelters. 1.5 hours from airport. So consider that if doing excursions. Staying at resort to chill great. Doesn’t seem to be good for snorkeling. Best hotel. Food as usual for Cuba

Hotel Camino del Mar: Beautiful resort!

The beach, pool, and staff are awesome. Rooms are cleaned daily if you wish. Some of the toilets in the public areas do not flush so learn which ones do until they are fixed! The hard working staff do all they can to cook, clean, and accommodate requests as possible. Overall we had a great time. There are some food shortages at times (bread, pasta, baked goods, etc) but that is actually a Cuba wide problem as I confirmed with others on the planes and buses from other resorts. Although food sel [... read more]ections were limited and repetitive at times, anything we did eat was delicious. It is shown as a 4/5 star but I would say it is closer to a 3. But if you are looking for sun, sand, and relaxation it certainly does not disappoint.

Roc Barlovento: Little Gem

We have been staying here for the last 15 years or so. We enjoy everything about this resort, the location is great. Many upgrades and maintenance is happening at the resort since CoVid. It is an older property but still enjoy going there.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wonderful Cuba!

The hotel staff were amazing! Food, so-so, but we knew that going in. The beaches and drinks and friendly staff made up for that! When you understand Cuba's economy it is hard to complain! We had a very relaxing, stress-free vacation and isn't that what it is all about!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Amazing resort!

We stayed at the club VIP section and the staff was very friendly. Carlos, Rossi, Adrianna, Laura and Irene were always there to answer our questions or have a friendly conversation. The rooms are beautiful. We also had room service.The beach is amazing. They had entertainment at the Lobby bar and on the beach. I enjoyed the Yoga and Zumba on the beach. Occidental Arenas Blancas: Not a Great First Time in Cuba

The resort itself was fine, a little dated such as the tub/bathroom but otherwise it was fine. The pool and beach were great. The service was not good. Many of the service people would not even give us the time of day. We waited for drinks more than we drank except at the poolside bar area. There were a handful that were actually pleasant. Not much to choose from either. They ran out of cups and alcohol a few times in our short stay. The plane trip was great although any food came with a charge. Cuba airport was good coming back - terrible going in - long time through customs and they all looked like they hated their jobs. Toronto Pearson was a nightmare only because of volume - the staff there try their best.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Never Going Back

The negative: They ran out of toilet paper frequently. The rooms are old/tired and not cleaned very well. We had to ask the maid to clean the sink, taps and mirror in the bathroom. Floors not swept or washed. Buffet was not air conditioned. They opened the doors. Food was repetitive. No margarine/butter, syrup, bacon, sausages etc. Lots of complaints from guests. Also there is no place to get food snacks in between meals. The snack bar is supposed to open at 11 am but they don’t open till aro [... read more]und 12 noon. My husband is diabetic and was very tough for him in between meals. The positive: beach is beautiful. Resort well laid out. Chairs comfortable, and the shows were great. We have been to Cuba a few times so we know what to expect. This resort was disappointing to say the least.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Overall good resort

The resort was a little dated, a few areas need to be updated ie rooms, pool area is small and the theatre is not 4 star. The biggest disappointment were the drinks. All were served in small juice glasses even cocktails like pina coladas. Wine was served in a tiny champagne glass and both white and red wine were not available at dinner. Even the Italian restaurant had no red wine. The drinks were watery with very little alcohol. We had a difficult time finding even one that was good. Brisas Guardalavaca: Good resort

The hotel itself was good and people were friendly, the bathtub was terrible and very dangerous! The bottom is not flat, very unsturdy to stand on and sides are very high to step into! Sadly not all restaurants were open to experience them and buffet was always the same food including desserts were always the same so not much variety as far as food goes! Ran out of diet cola, which wasn’t good for me being type 1 diabetic, so not much for me to drink on resort

Mar Del Sur: Pease of sheet

Pease of sheet, never again, i used to like it, now is a dumb, mostly local noise Cubans, that's ok but hard to integrate with their way of behavior, food???,same for 14 days, communication veri poore

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Loved Cuba would not go back to this resort

Second time visiting Cuba, would not go back to this resort. Service was non existent Ran out of alcohol & glasses Workers were rude, felt like you were bothering them Food was blah Run down resort

Melia Jardines del Rey: 4th time there, will be back.

People fabulous as always, and one of the best beaches anywhere. Upkeep and maintenance ok. Still dealing with shortages which affects the food supply, so selection limited, and I guess access to pool chemicals. Normally the pool is crystal clear but they were struggling with the water quality this time. Bar selection and supply ok. Reduced show availability but they made up for it with group sing and dance. It is going to take awhile to get fully back on their feet but its still a good vacatio [... read more]n. Met quite a few regulars to this resort.

Brisas Del Caribe: Great hotel!

This was my 3rd stay at Brises del Caribe, near Varadero, Cuba. The hotel staff are great; warm & courteous. Quick to serve you, or resolve issues as they arise. My only issue, there were not too many who spoke basic English. I speak basic Spanish, so I could get by, but my 3 travel companions were only English speaking. Otherwise I would definitely return here, & invite others to join me!

Club Kawama: Love this resort

This was trip 4 to Club Kawama. I love the resort! Friendly people and very gracious. We had plenty to eat and rooms were very clean. Beaches were clean snd lounge chars available. Pool was awesome and poolside was well kept. We felt safe and found they take security very seriously. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort when at the right season

Great facilities and willing staff but make sure you check if staff is not short during your stay because that will impact your wait times or availabilities of certain services Communication at the reception is not best

Muthu Playa Varadero: resort as a resort

Every time it gets worse and worse... Since December, beach towels have disappeared. I had to remind them for three days. Strange disappearances of plastic cups in bars. Food, well, there are some oddities here, then there is no dessert, then something else. The rest is pretty normal for Cuba. People are friendly. PS. Well, in the end, at the airport of Varadero, the company Sunwing distinguished itself. An hour in line for check-in and baggage!!! Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Great Beach

Resort is nice and clean with beautiful pools and beach. The room is set up well with good housekeeping daily. Always could find a lounger at pools or beach. Food is what you expect for Cuba at buffet but much better at a la cartes.Also service at buffet was slow to get drinks or even cutlery. Found only main lobby to go in evenings so was busy

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Not the best place

The grounds were very dark at night, not easy to see where you were going. Lots if flies and cockroachs at the buffett. Food was average at best. Staff was great very friendly. I don't think I would go back.
