Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Amazing Family Resort

the reviews on this resort are spot on!!! great family vacation with the kids. Friendly helpful staff always going beyond to service you , Food was amazing and Lots of different options. Rooms were clean , grounds were kept clean , beach was amazing and waterpark was fun for the whole family . Id recommend This resort for any family to go , I will go back again for sure!!

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Hotel management and service issues abound

Disorganized reception by Air Canada and the resort e.g. an hour wait on the bus at airport, an hour wait at hotel, rooms not ready. We stayed in the "Luxury Don Pablo" section. Noisy construction but had to really insist strongly to change rooms but not until the next afternoon; Lost a day of vacation. Rooms tired but they are building new ones. Excellent quality entertainment on site. Food beautifully presented, but not 5* taste. Beautiful restaurants but difficult getting reservations yet the [... read more] restaurants were 70% empty?? No towels in rooms all day & many calls achieved nothing. Beach lovely but far from where we were staying. Hot buffet food mostly cold. Service poor and cool, often unfriendly.

The Oasis at Sunset: Good Resort with potential

Our 4th visit to Jamaica and first stay at The Oasis at Sunset. We arrived the first week of September which is low season and the resort was dead. We knew that there would be construction upgrades but did not expect that an entire wing of the hotel would be under heavy construction from 8am to 8pm 6 days a week. The good: The staff were amazing. Truly helpful, warm and friendly and the best we have encountered in Jamaica. Food at The Terrace was amazing for all 3 meals and the service was perf [... read more]ect with a nice ambiance. The best meal I had was the Byron Bay pork chop at Byrons on the Sunset side. The food at the grill on the Sunset side was always good and hot and the coconut iced cream was heaven. We were in a beachfront cabana room and the view could not be beat. Our room was always left spotlessly clean. The private beach was beautiful and very quite so it was our main hangout spot. Often there were less then 6 people on the entire beach so it felt like a private paradise. There were always lots of security guards looking out for the guests all of which were very friendly. The snorkelling was good with my husband finding a large conch shell, jelly fish, puffer fish, sea snakes and crabs. The lifeguard crew was so nice and cleaned my husbands conch shell for him. The not so good: The room was in need of updating which should be happening in the next 2 months. We were not told that The Blue Mahoe restaurant would be closed during out visit, very disappointing. One evening was Jamiaca night at the buffet at Sunset. We went over to take a look and it did not excite us but unfortunately there was a one hour wait for the Italian restaurant and The Terrace was closed. I understand the rotation of restaurants due to low occupancy but we were not fond of being forced to eat at the extremely busy buffet. My pasta meal at the Italian restaurant was not cooked properly and was inedible, my husband had the lamb and enjoyed it. The beaches were very rocky and had lots of seaweed, bring water shoes. Nights were very early with such low occupancy and lacklustre entertainment at Sunset. We had an issue with our room card and the desk at The Oasis closes at 11pm so you need to go to the sunset for assistance. WI-FI worked less then 50% of the time in the room and was very slow. The construction noise is really bad with actual jack hammering that starts very early and goes late. In summary I would rate this resort in its current state a 3.5 out of 5 with the potential to be 5 star. The new owners are really making a lot of upgrades and we are interested to see the reviews when everything is complete. We had a great time but did not find the value for the price we paid with the reduced amenities. This resort is suited to families, we will be choosing an adults only resort for our next vacation.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Great Value

There was so much to do at this resort and too little time. Great beach & house reef, sea sports, pools, access to water park any time (with food and towels). Morning work outs, night entertainment. Plenty of choice for eating. Kid's activities. And we did not even use the golf course or tennis courts.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Resort great for relaxation

Food was good - especially the Italian restaurant! Service was hit or miss depending on the day. Entertainment and activities were lacking. However, great time in general and great for just chilling and relaxing.

SeaGarden Beach Resort: Incredible vacation

Small but beautiful. Very safe and family friendly. Our children loved the activities group. The beach is outstanding. Small but always a space to sit. The snorkelling was amazing. We would go back again.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Food!!

Hotel was impressive on entry. Lobby is very attractive but rooms are not very modern. Pools were great and beach was gorgeous!!! Loved the food in all the restaurants!!! The selection and taste of every menu item we tried was just sumptuous!!

good value for the money. staff very helpful,try hard to make us happy. Also need more staff on the front desk. In room towels were scares, particular face cloths. We did enjoy our stay there. Don't mind if I return soon.

Sandals Dunn's River: Wonderful and relaxing!

This resort is beautiful. The food is excellent. The staff and the service they provided was second to none. As we were travelling in the off season, it was very quiet...but exactly what we were looking for. The pools and beach are very clean. I really could not criticize anything at all. Can't wait to go back!

Couples Swept Away: Couldn't ask for anything more

Not only was the food great there was great verity with 5 restaurants 2 snack bars each with its own kitchen , a great selection of water sports and excursions topped of by excellent and friendly service

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: JEWEL RUNAWAY BAY

THIS IS A FIRST CLASS RESORT. I NEVER HAD A BAD MEAL. THE PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY ALWAYS AND ALWAYS SMILING. THIS IS ALSO A GREAT RESORT FOR KIDS. THE WATER PARK IS EXCELLENT AND YOU CAN'T BEAT THE DAYCARE.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Family Vacation but...

My family and I stayed at the Gran Bahia from August 26th to September 2nd. Firstly, this resort is even more BEAUTIFUL in person than in picture, seriously none of the pictures do it justice. When we arrived at the resort it was around 3:00pm we were told our room wasn't ready yet and asked to get some lunch and come back. We had to leave our luggage with a bell boy. Another thing - this resort is huge so LOTS OF WALKING! We picked at some food at the shack and went back to check in, only to be [... read more] asked to come back AGAIN. It took almost 2 hours and 30 minutes for us to be finally given a room. The manger offered us an upgrade to the "Golden Club" after all the frustration. However, that was almost another curse rather than a blessing. Our request for two double beds (3 of us in a room) was not able to be fulfilled and we were told that another bed would be made for us in the room. We had to call the front desk 4 times, before someone came around 10 pm to make up the second bed for us. The Golden club promises a safe, which apparentlyy had a broken key in it already, so when I tried to put my key in it broke (I returned the key right away and almost got charged $50 for it). We got 1 robe and 1 pair of slippers, again for 3 people, and never got the chocolate platters or special gifts as promised. Needless to say, the upgrade wasn't much and we still had to fuss over getting any of the benefits that it includes anyways. BUT -- I did rate this resort a 4 out of 5 stars for a reason. The STAFF ARE AMAZING! SO WELCOMING AND VERY HARD WORKING! Our favourites were Jerome and Lamaine who checked on us every day. The housekeepers are very sweet as well. We spent 5 of the 7 days at the pool and swim up bar, the beach while very beautiful is rocky, and the water burns (but it's saltwater what do you expect right). The food was AMAZING and we were happy to eat at the buffet every day but we did do Japanese, Steak house, and Italian a la carte. The Garden Grill steak house was by far my favourite. For lunch, the JERK CHICKEN is a MUST so make sure you go to the snack shack. I would say this resort is extremely family friendly and if you have little ones you will love it. If you're younger and looking for a party this resort will also keep you entertained and Margarita Ville is just a short cab ride away for the nightlife you want. While I really enjoyed my time at the Gran Bahia, we are uncertain if we will give it another try - although we will definitely be returning to Jamaica. We understand that the Gran Bahia is a large hotel but at times we felt like just a number. Our trip would have been more enjoyable without all the hassle especially at the beginning.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: A very clean big resort, lots to do

What a nice resort. First of all it's approx. 1.25hrs from the airport - which is good because you don't hear any planes all week. Second, the resort is unfortunately under construction on the Luxury side of the resort as soon as the bus drives inside the grounds by the front gate. It has been under construction obviously for some time now as they are building an entire end wing of the hotel which never stops 24/7. If you sit by the pool go to the family side. The food was amazing, the drinks could use more pop :) mixed in with the alcohol. The pool was excellent and clean. The overall grounds were kept clean and lush. The service by the pool, beach, hotel lobby, and dining area's were bang on!. The accommodation was fantastic on the Adult Luxury side. If it wasn't for the construction noise you couldn't ask for a better resort. If you don't have kids I strongly recommend this side of the resort for special treatment (Don Pablo Luxury).

Great resort, with good food, activities for families with kids and friendly staff. Would definately go again. would be nice if when we arrive , there is something like a welcome drink and luggage is more organized. Other wise had a great time.

Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall: amazing resort

The resort was beautiful! Room service was great.. nightly entertainment was also very good and food wasn't bad.. being a vegetarian is hard.. I would say there should be more options for people who are vegetarian but other then that everything else was great!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Wonderful Resort

The Bahia Principe in Jamaica is a beautiful resort. The rooms are clean and spacious. The food at the main buffet is varied and will appeal to most people. Beginning with breakfast, lost of traditional pancakes, french toast, bacon, eggs and omelets. Lunch at the snack bar was OK ( Jerk chicken was the best part) but midway through our vacation, they closed it down and moved it to the Dolce Vita restaurant. Getting a good nights sleep may be a real chore with the constant door slamming and shouting in the corridor from drunken guests. This was my first trip to Jamaica's Runaway Bay. My second stay at a Bahia Principe resort. Overall, I had a good time at the resort and I would recommend this resort once the construction is complete.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Great vacation at Iberostar Beach

We spent 2 weeks from Aug 25th-Sept 8th, 2015 in Iberostar Beach at Rose Hall. Our group consisted of 2 adults and 2 kids, 11 years old. The resort is in great condition and the staff is excellent, from the front desk, waiters to the chefs. The beach portion on this hotel is actually nicer than in the other 2 adjacent (and more expensive) Iberostar hotels. You might want to consider another place if you have difficulty climbing stairs. The food is varied, fresh and delicious. We visited the steakhouse 3 times and the rib eye steak is superb! The entertainment is great and we quite different from the one offered on other hotels. They even have a magic show equally good for kids and adults. We will definitely consider this hotel again if we decide to stay in Jamaica again.

This was excellent an Resort,very relaxing,grounds were well kept,friendly and courteous staff especially Travis,very clean rooms,good food...love the 24hrs jerk chicken grill!..will definately go back.

Riu Palace Tropical Bay: beautiful beach

We had a very enjoyable stay and enjoyed the beach and restaurants, with one exception, but found three concerns. The drive from the airport to the resort is 90 minutes which was not comfortable based on the age of the vehicle provided. The "steak house" restaurant option was not staffed effectively and not worth the effort of booking this. Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing Resort

The best resort we have been to in the Caribbean. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing with great selection. Entertainment was excellent. Loved the layout of the resort, everything was a very short distance away.
