Catalonia Bavaro Resort: Great Trip

My boyfriend and I just returned from our trip here and it went pretty well. We stayed in the Privileged rooms and it was a nice modern room. The washroom had a double shower. The only downfall of the room was the smell that came from the sewage ( toilet and sinks) but other than that the room was great. There was even a hammock on the balcony. The food at the resort is just alright. The Italian restaurant was the best although I didn't make it to the Japanese restaurant as every night they were full and no longer accepting anyone. We were never bothered by people looking to sell timeshares and all employees had a great attitude. Overall I had a great time here and I would definitely return to Punta Cana!

Whala Bavaro: Whala Bavaro

Very nice resort for the price. Staff very friendly. Variety of food. 5 swimming pools with plenty of lounge chairs. Always able to find a place in the shade.3 bars included. A few minutes walk to the beach which had ample lounge chairs. Rooms clean, bed very comfortable. We would definitely return here.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: The Bahai Principe Aquamarine, Punta Cana

Everything was great, the food and the hotel, the staff was very helpful when asked. Drinks were good and all the Al a cartes were excellent. Getting to the beach you had to take a choo choo which wasn't usually a problem there was a lot cartes but sometimes they would get tied up and had to wait for 10 minutes or more.

Secrets Cap Cana: Very Clean and very kind staff

The resort was very clean all around!! The staff is very kind and always have a smile on their face...Food was excellent lots of variety and our top restaurant was the Italian. Beach is clean and well located. All around 5 star Resort. Good job Secret Cap Cana!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Best in Class!

Absolutely amazing. No complaints, great food, great place, great people. Will definitely be going back again. Recommended the Catalina Island excursion for adults who like to get out and see the country and the culture.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort!

This was our 5th visit to the Luxury Ambar and first since the renovation. Best visit yet! Everything about this resort is fantastic. It’s a quiet resort and by 10:30 pm it’s very quiet which is how we like it. We love this resort and will be back.

Riu Bambu: Amazing Resort

Pros: - Amazing Resort - Resort and rooms are clean and well kept - Lots of lounge chairs at beach and pool - Good selection of food and drink Cons: - Lots of weeds on the beach - No huts at beach for shade - Coffee machines around resorts kept breaking down

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: quite impressive resort

the hotel on its own was quite clean, grounds very well kept- very nice to look at - room was quite clean, bathrooms in other areas ofthe hotel could have been cleaner - on the beach of course not so clean at all. the bars , meals were good, over all it was impressive. had a problem with a phone in the room - not working for 7 days - reported it 3 times - never looked at - and upon checkout they said I owed $7.00 - for a non working phone - not nice. the shows were o.k. - reception - not ve [... read more]ry friendly on checkin - had to wait until 3 p.m. - not a moment sooner - even though we arrived at 12 oclock.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great Resort!!!!

We loved the pools and they all had a swim up bar. Anny was great at the front desk, made us felt welcome right away. The Japanese and Tex Mex alecart were Awesome. Had a good time at the casino but the disco was way too loud for us. I would go back to this resort for sure.

Ocean El Faro: Ocean El Faro Punta Cana

Everything about this resort was perfect, very well laid out, friendly staff, great food and amazing amenities. We were upgraded to a pool view which I highly recommend. The only con was that the rooms were damp as it appears the air conditioning had a hard time keeping up with the humidity. Other than that I highly recommend this resort, the best one we have been to yet.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: perfect vacation

fantastic hotel, food is amazing, very clean ground and rooms, night entertainment was good too, sport bar and gym new and just perfect, totally recommend. the bar at the lobby more selection of drinks but the pool bar still very nice.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Wonderful resort

I loved the fact that I had an ocean view room and it was close to the beach . The grounds were well kept and there were so many beautiful flowers. There was a wide selection of food at the buffet and there were clearly labelled. I was able to sample and try new dishes

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Bahia princape Aqua marrine

Beautiful place The rooms were nice and big and air conditioning was great we had fun at this resort Good food and nice staff and beautiful beach We walked 45 minutes on the beach from resort to resort ended up at the hard rock casino

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

This hotel is great for families. I usually stay at the Ambar which is an adults only and is generally my favorite. Due to unavailability I went back to the Esmeralda and was not disappointed at all!. The grounds are beautifully maintained, the rooms are great and plenty of hot water!! The water is generally gorgeous but some days have more seaweed than others but this can happen no matter what hotel you’re at. However, the guys along the beach do a great job of cleaning up as much as they can. The Peublo Principe allows you to have the best of both worlds, having this common area for all sections, gives you the oppportunity to continue your evening with a night of either gambling at the casino, watching a game at the sports bar or dance the night away at the disco. I highly recommend the Bahia chain, they make you feel like the quality of your vacation is their priority!

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Best resort for Kids!!

This hotel is the perfect spot for kids. Between the waterpark area, characters walking around, kids club and nightly shows. They do an awesome job getting the kids involved. Food was good, lots of variety. I do suggest booking the a la cart reservations in advance as it was difficult to get once we arrived. The place is very clean. The pool was closed a couple of times during the week we were there for a couple hours at a time due to 'accidents'. Although we didnt see alot of mosquitoes, they were around and we all got lots of bites so be sure to wear bug spray.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great family resort

Beautiful hotel. Grounds were always keep clean. Rooms are nice but bed was not comfortable. Maid service was excellent. Even had turn down service at night. The guy filling the mini fridge did an awesome job of keeping it filled with what we requested. Pools and water park was very enjoyable for the grandkids. Food was ok. Won’t starve for a week. The only complaint was that the Three grandkids caught the HFM disease. All under 5 yrs. very uncomfortable for last 3 days. Also u have to take [... read more] a shuttle to beach which turned me off. I like to get up and go to beach within walking distance. Shuttles were very quick but still not the same. Would recommend hotel if the kids are older. ALOT of the younger kids ended up with HFM

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Beautiful resort!

This was our 1st time at Be Live, but have been to Punta Cana a few times. I think this resort is excellent value for your money. The grounds are kept up immaculately, the buffet was good. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Our room was slightly dated, but we spend our time at the beach! Lovely spa on site. We would definately return!!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing Resort BUT

I chose this resort because it had relatively very good ratings. The restaurants, buffet, grounds and hotel rooms were fantastic. BUT- after travelling for over 25 years to various destinations, hotels and resorts it was the first time I git bed bug bites. Many of them. I didn’t know what they looked like until I looked them up. I asked to change rooms and got the run around until I was so frustrated that I walked myself to a service person at the lobby of where my room was. She visibly n [... read more]oticed I was not happy. She changed our room to a smaller one and offered no apologies or compensation for the trouble or to make up for the smaller room. I did mention the issue to a csr who was taking feedback at the MEATS restaurant. She said it was impossible because the hotel was renovated a few months back and it was probably sand flies. This was a false answer and poorly responded and handled. On our flight back there several people who complained of bed bug bites. I happened to have a conference call one morning while I was there and witnessed the cleaning lady clean the room. There is basically nothing that is done. They make it look tidy. There is no real cleaning. They need to oay more attention to cleanliness in the rooms.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Disappointed

This was our second visit at this resort. We experienced two problems: 1. A/C was very noisy. We complained but they didn't fix it. 2. The Italian A-la-carte restaurant was horrible. We went there at 7:45, ordered food at 8pm and food came at 10pm. When we asked about it, they all stopped speaking English! Never again!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Beautiful Resort with guest concerns though.

First I would like to say that the Melia Punta Cana Resort was beautiful! The staff were welcoming, kind and overall my impression was very good. However, there were some areas of concern. On my first morning at breakfast I was served a coffee at the Rumba buffet, that was totally not okay. Black chunks of “whatever” were floating in the coffee. I was able to remove some of the chunks using a fork. At a table close by I noticed a woman dipping a knife in her cup to remove these terrib [... read more]le chunks. Needless, to say I asked for a manage, who apologized, but I was a bit concerned to drink coffee from here on in. Also, I found the food continually under cooked at each meal at the buffet. If the food was improved immensely I would not have as big an issue with wanting to stay at this resort. Please note I have been sick with diarrhea and stomach cramps from my first day at the resort. Diarrhea has continued (day 10 for me now, and have needed to call my doctor for advise as to what to do.) Another area of concern was my room at the resort. On the first morning after I awoke, I noticed the sliding door was ajar. The frame was bent on the outside and the door lock was also bent preventing the door from shutting/locking. The door looked like someone tried to pry the door open from the outside. This should have been noticed by the cleaning staff and repaired prior to my staying in the room. Also, the toilet in the room had to be flushed at least twice if not three times after each use. I was constantly worried about the toilet flooding. (My neighbour woke me at 2:00 a.m. one morning due to her toilet flooding over and she had no telephone service the five days stayed at the hotel.) On arrival, blood was also noticeable on my daughters pillow case which was totally unacceptable. This was the only time I had to notify hotel reception twice to have the problem remedied. Lastly, upon arrival in my room, I needed to request for my room to be cleaned better, since there was food on the floor under the dresser and couch area left from previous guest. Follow-up by hotel staff regarding any complaints or issues was dealt with promptly and courteously. I tried my best to overlook these areas of concern, but wanted to provide an honest opinion about my stay at the resort.
